A time-domain combined field integral equation (CFIE) is presented to obtain the transient scattering response from arbitrarily shaped three-dimensional conducting bodies. This formulation is based on a linear combination of the time-domain electric field integral equation (EFIE) with the magnetic field integral equation (MFIE). The time derivative of the magnetic vector potential in EFIE is approximated using a central finite difference approximation and the scalar potential is averaged over time. The time-domain CFIE approach produces results that are accurate and stable when solving for transient scattering responses from conducting objects. The incident spectrum of the field may contain frequency components, which correspond to the internal resonance of the structure. For the numerical solution, we consider both the explicit and implicit scheme and use two different kinds of Gaussian pulses, which may contain frequencies corresponding to the internal resonance. Numerical results for the EFIE, MFIE, and CFIE are presented and compared with those obtained from the inverse discrete Fourier transform (IDFT) of the frequency-domain CFIE solution.

An efficient time-domain numerical method for the analysis of broadband noise generation and propagation due to turbulence-cascade interaction is developed. The core algorithm of the present method is based on the B-periodicity of the acoustic response function of the flat-airfoil cascade to the ingesting gust (B denotes the number of airfoils in the cascade). To confirm this periodicity, gust-cascade interaction problem are solved by using the time-domain method, which shows that the incident gust with the circumferential mode number having the same remainders when divided by the airfoil number excites the same acoustic response of the cascade. Using the proposed fast algorithm with this periodicity, we show that the total computation time for the model broadband problem using the total 525 incident gust modes can be reduced to about 1/4 of that taken in using the previous time-domain program.

In this Paper. a time-domain geoacoustic inversion was performed using the bulb signals measured during MがU. 04 experiment conducted in the East Sea of Korea in 2004. An obiective function was defined as a direct cross-correlation between the measured and the simulated signals in time domain. The ray theory was used to model the wave propagation in time domain and optimizations were Performed using VFSA (very fast simulated annealing) algorithm. Comparison of inversion results with those from transmission loss matching (an accompanying paper in this issue of the Journal of the Acoustical Society of Korea) shows that Parameters are consistently inverted. Direct time series comparisons between the measured signals and the simulated signals are Presented based on inversion results.

An accurate evaluation of three-dimensional (3D) Time-Domain Green Function (TDGF) in infinite water depth is essential for ship's hydrodynamic analysis. Various numerical algorithms based on the TDGF properties are considered, including the ascending series expansion at small time parameter, the asymptotic expansion at large time parameter and the Taylor series expansion combines with ordinary differential equation for the time domain analysis. An efficient method (referred as "Present Method") for a better accuracy evaluation of TDGF has been proposed. The numerical results generated from precise integration method and analytical solution of Shan et al. (2019) revealed that the "Present method" provides a better solution in the computational domain. The comparison of the heave hydrodynamic coefficients in solving the radiation problem of a hemisphere at zero speed between the "Present method" and the analytical solutions proposed by Hulme (1982) showed that the difference of result is small, less than 3%.

This paper presents a quasi-static optimization technique for elastic structures under dynamic loads. An equivalent static load (ESL) set is defined as a static load set which generates the same displacement field as that from a dynamic load at a certain time. Multiple ESL sets calculated at every time step are employed to represent the various states of the structure under the dynamic load. They can cover every critical state that might happen at an arbitrary time. Continuous characteristics of dynamic load are simulated by multiple discontinuous ones of static loads. The calculated sets of ESLs are applied as a multiple loading condition in the optimization process. A design cycle is defined as a circulated process between an analysis domain and a design domain. Design cycles are repeated until a design converges. The analysis domain gives a loading condition necessary for the design domain. The design domain gives a new updated design to be verified by the analysis domain in the next design cycle. This iterative process is quite similar to that of the multidisciplinary optimization technique. Even though the global convergence cannot be guaranteed, the proposed technique makes it possible to optimize the structures under dynamic loads. It has also applicability, flexibility, and reliability.

This paper presents an overview of research results obtained by the authors in a series of publications. Methods are developed both for time-varying and time-invariant for linear and nonlinear. for time domain and frequency domain . and for discrete-time and continuous-time systems. Among the topics presented are: 1. Learning control based on integral control concepts applied in the repetition domain. 2. New algorithms that give improved transient response of the indirect adaptive control ideas. 4. Direct model reference learning control. 5 . Learning control based frequency domain. 6. Use of neural networks in learning control. 7. Decentralized learning controllers. These learning algorithms apply to robot control. The decentralized learning control laws are important in such applications becaused of the usual robot decentralized controller structured.

In this paper, a new time-domain parameter extraction method for speech recognition is proposed. The suggested emthod is based on the fact that the local peak-to-peak interval, i.e., the interval between maxima and minima of speech waveform is closely related to the frequency component of the speech signal. The parameterization is achieved by a sort of filter bank technique in the time domain. To test the proposed parameter extraction emthod, an isolated word recognizer based on Vector Quantization and Hidden Markov Model was constructed. As a test material, 22 words spoken by ten males were used and the recognition rate of 92.9% was obtained. This result leads to the conclusion that the new parameter extraction method can be used for speech recognition system. Since the proposed method is processed in the time domain, the real-time parameter extraction can be implemented in the class of personal computer equipped onlu with an A/D converter without any DSP board.
A measurement-based time-domain noise simulation of radiation detector-preamplifier (front-end) noise in nuclear spectroscopy is described. The time-domain noise simulation was performed by generating "noise random numbers" using Monte Carlo's inverse method. The probability of unpredictable noise was derived from the empirical cumulative distribution function via the sampled noise, which was measured from a preamplifier output. Results of the simulated noise were investigated as functions of time, frequency, and statistical domains. Noise behavior was evaluated using the signal wave-shaping function, and was compared with the actual noise. Similarities between the response characteristics of the simulated and the actual preamplifier output noises were found. The simulated noise and the computed nuclear pulse signal were also combined to generate a simulated preamplifier output signal. Such simulated output signals could be used in nuclear spectroscopy to determine energy resolution degradation from front-end noise effect.

This paper explains hybrid method that combines Time domain simulation technique with the direct method of Transient stability analysis. First, it calculate trajectory of real system by Time domain Simulation using OOP(Object Oriented Programming method) and evaluate Transient Energy Function to induce stability index to calculate Transient stability margin. Once the status of system(stable or unstable) has been identified, proper criteria are proposed to stop time-domain simulation to reduce CPU time.

As weapon systems are becoming advanced and intelligent, they are designed to have such events like ejecting sub-munitions. So it is continually requested to measure the event time and position exactly. We can measure the event time and position by analyzing the complex signal of the instrumentation radar in the time domain and can also obtain the spin rate of the target by analyzing the complex signal in the frequency domain.
