  • Systems engineering test and evaluation technology development program for (Korea) Express Tilting Train(TTX) system in progress is a national large system development program that is not only a large-size and complex but also multi-disciplinary in nature. For the TTX test and evaluation technology development, verification requirements that could verify system function and performance, should be derived from system specification. Hereafter, this could be listed as items of test. System engineering process establish traceability between items of test and system requirements. These tasks could be accomplished by the schema. Using the Core, a system engineering tool, TTX program could be database and similar other system could be developed effectively and efficiency

  • Polymeric composite structures used in ground transportation applications such as the carbody of tilting train may be exposed to a ground environmental conditions during long-term missions. In this study, the degradation of mechanical and physical properties of graphite/epoxy composite and glass fabric/phenol composite under ground environmental conditions was investigated. Accelerated environmental conditions of ultraviolet radiation, temperature, and moisture were considered. Several types of specimens were used to investigate the effects of environmental conditions on mechanical properties of the composites. Also, storage shear modulus, loss shear modulus, and tan 8 were measured as a function of exposure times through a dynamic mechanical analyzer. Finally, composite surfaces exposed to environmental conditions were examined using a scanning electron microscope.

틸팅열차 측면재의 차음 전략 (Sound Insulation Strategy of the Side Panels in a Tilting Train)

  • In an express tilting train, side wall insulating the noise from the exterior sound source consists of two parts. One is the layered composite panel including aluminum honeycomb, glass wool and nomex honeycomb. The other is the double glazed window. In this study, sound insulation performance of the two parts is investigated by mass law and experiment. Based on ASTM E2249-02, the intensity sound transmission loss (TL) is measured on the specimens of the two parts. Mass law deviation (MLD) is considered in order to compare the sound insulation performance in respect of weight. Contribution of each part to the sound insulation is analyzed and the sound insulation strategy for the interior noise reduction is investigated.

  • Recently, TTX(Tilting Train eXpress), EMU (Electric Multiple Unit) has operated test. Presently, electric problems(harmonic, voltage variation etc) of TTX are studying briskly. Henceforth, electrical harmonic study of TTX will operate on the rail actually is needed. In this paper, we detected electrical harmonic of operating TTX. In addition to we analyzed and estimated electrical harmonic regarding TTX's coasting, acceleration and braking state.

  • In this paper, control schemes are proposed for a propulsion system(Converter/Inverter) of the TTX(Tilting Train express). In developed traction converter, unity power factor control, compensation method of dc link voltage have been applied. Output current of converter contains harmonics ripple at twice input ac line frequency, which causes a ripple in the dc link voltage so that control scheme is developed in inverter system to reduce the pulsating torque current. At low speed region, vector control scheme is applied and slip frequency control is adopted at high speed region. The performance of propulsion system will be verified by simulation and prototype experimental results.

  • This paper proposes 210[kVA] rated SIV(Static Inverter) system for the TTX(Tilting Train eXpress). The SIV provides power of a fluorescent light in the car, Air-conditioner, and other equipments. To control output voltage it is used voltage control loop for constant voltage control and simultaneously used current control loop for instantaneous control at load changing. The performance of SIV system will be verified by simulation and experimental results.

  • 현재 기존선에 설치되어 있는 ATS 지상신호시스템은 고속화에 어려움이 있으며 만약 열차운행속도 180km/h급 틸팅차량이 안전하게 운행하고자 한다면, 첨단기술을 이용한 차상신호시스템이 도입이 필요하다. 지상신호시스템의 고속화 적용에 가장 큰 장애 요인으로 작용하는 기관사 시인성 연구 결과에서도 열차 운행속도 160km/h 까지는 가능하나 그 이상의 속도에서는 기관사의 피로도 및 오동작 확률이 높아지므로 기존선 고속화를 위해 신호시스템을 차상신호 시스템으로 개량하는 것이 적합한 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 논문은 최고운행속도 180km/h급 틸팅차량 TTX(Tilting Train eXpress)에 적합한 차상신호장치의 기본설계방안을 제시한다.

  • In this paper a study on the reduction method of ground vibration by a french is carried out. The transmitted load into the ground which induces the ground vibration is computed through a study on the interaction between tilting car and the line. This load is applied into the numerical model which is one for a study on the reduction method of ground vibration by a trench. Then the numerical results is compared with the experimental results conducted in the previous study.

  • With the increase in population, the area of human activities has expanded, resulting in the dramatic increase in the need for transportation system. Tilting trains are currently in operation in 13 countries around the world. TTX(Tilting Train express) has been developed by KRRI(Korea Railroad Research Institute) for last 6 years to satisfy the need. This train developed in this Project is designed for a design speed of 200km/h and a maximum operating speed of 180km/h. We developed a measurement system for on-line test. the measurement console desk is mounted on T car, which is designed as the DAQ system train. It is comprehensive of the industrial computers, LCD monitors, communication cards and the communication channel measurement system. Using this system, SIV performance evaluation was conducted.

반복하중을 받는 틸팅열차용 복합재 차체구조의 내구성 평가 (Durability Evaluation of a Composite Carbody for Korean Tilting Train under Repeated Loadings)

  • This rafer explains a durability test of a large train car body made of carbon/epoxy composite material. The composite car body with the length of 23m was manufactured as a sandwich structure composed of an aluminum honeycomb core and CF1263 woven fabric carbon/epoxy faces. In order to evaluate durability of the composite car body, it was excited by two 500kN capacity hydraulic actuators installed underneath the body bolster. The natural frequency of the composite car body under full weight condition was found to be 4.33Hz. Based on this result, the excitation frequency and displacement of 5Hz and ${\pm}1.0mm$, respectively, were used as inputs for the durability test. The test was conducted for $2{\times}10^6$ cycles. During the test, the nondestructive tests using X-ray radiography and dye penetration method was performed to determine the presence of the cracks. Upon completion of the test, no cracks were found.
