  • XLPE cable, which has excellent electrical and thermal performance, has been widely used for HV transmission & distribution lines. The most important thing to produce the cable products having good performance is to set the optimal operating conditions of cable machinery. Because it is very difficult to measure the temperature of cable under curing process practically, it is necessary to evaluate the cable temperature by using the method to simulate real conditions numerically. In this work, We investigate the basic theory on transient heat transfer between curing tube and cable for making a numerical simulation program using computer. In this program, a differential equation is approximated by a infinite differential method and a few assumptions are used to simplify the model and minimize the calculation time of program.

  • PVA films with 1,2,3,4-Butanetetracarboxylic acid(BTCA) and sodium hypophosphite monohydrate(SHM) were crosslinked via thermal curing. Different parameters affecting on the crosslinking were investigated including BTCA and SHM concentration, curing temperature and time. The cured films was extracted with boiling water and gel fraction was calculated from weight change of the PVA films. Moisture regain of the gelled films was also measured. While the gel fraction of PVA films increased with increasing curing temperature and time, moisture regain decreased. Water resistance of the crosslinked PVA films improved by the BTCA crosslinking treatment.

  • Maleimide modified epoxy compounds were prepared by reacting N-(4-hydroxyphenyl) maleimide (HPM) with diglycidylether of bisphenol-A. Triphenylphosphine was used as catalyst and methylethylketone as solvent. The resulting compound possessed both the oxirane ring and maleimide group. The curing reaction of the maleimide epoxy compound with amine curing agents such as 1-(2-aminoethyl) piperazine (AEP) and 5-amino-1,3,3-trimethylcyclohexane methylamine isophorone diamine, IPDA) were studied. Incorporation of maleimide groups in the epoxy resin provides cyclic imide structure and high cross-linking density to the cured resins. The cured samples were found to have good thermal stability, chemical resistance (acid/alkali/solvent) and water absorption resistance.

  • This study attemps to investigate the influence of heat of hydration occured during hardening on the strength development of high strength concrete. The concrete design strengths of 500kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and 700kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ were considered to simulated the square columns having $80\times80cm$ and $100\times100cm$, respectively. Both standard curing and field curing specimen were prepared at the specified ages, and the cores were drilled out from the structure. The thermal sensors were installed into the specimen to measure the heat of hydration process occurred during the hardening. This paper tries to uncover the relationship between the temperature history of the concrete and strength development. The correlation of core strength and specimen strength with curing condition is also discussed. Further research is desired to enlight the relationship between strength and heat of hydration of high strength concrete.

  • This paper presents the experimental study on crack control of core-wall placed with 700kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ Ultra high strength concrete. The thermal sensors were installed into the core-walls prior to the concrete casting to measure the heat of hydration and atmospheric temperature whose difference might cause the initial crack. Several curing schemes were taken for each basement floor 8 thru 6 to examine the influence of curing method on the crack width, total crack length and the number of crack occurred. This paper demonstrates that the proper curing scheme have a great favorable effect on the initial crack control on the structural elements with noticiable reduction in crack width.

  • The experimental system used for vapor deposition polymerization (VDP) from PMDA (Pyromellitic dianhydride) and DDE (4, 4-diaminodiphenyl ether) were changed to PI (polyimide) thin films by thermal curing. The curing temperatures were 20$0^{\circ}C$, 25$0^{\circ}C$, 30$0^{\circ}C$, 35$0^{\circ}C$. When test number was 40, the electric breakdown strengths of PI were 1.21MV/cm, 3.94MV/cm, 4.61MV/cm, 4.55MV/cm according to curing temperatures.

  • In this paper Polyimide(PI) thin film are fabricated by vapor deposition polymerization(VDP) of dry process which are easy to control the film's thickness and hard to pollute due to volatile solvent. The FT-IR spectrum show that PAA thin films fabricated by VDP are changed to PI thin film by thermal curing. From AFM(Atomic Force Microscopy) experimental as the higher curing temperature. the thin film thickness decreases and roughness decresse.

  • Pitchstone(Volcanic ejecta) reacts with CaO in hot water and increases its sedimentary volume by forming Ca(OH)2 and calcium silicate hydrates. ALC was prepared from the various gelling and curing conditions using the ratio of pitchstone/CaO was 2(CaO/SiO2 mol ratio=0.81), and then the products, crystalline phases and physical properties of ALC with experimental conditions was investigated. The crystalline phase of tobermorite with laths and plate type and the porosity were increased, the thermal conductivity was decreased with increasing gelling temperature and time. But modulus of rupture has maximum value when gelling time was 2 hrs. Othwrwise the bulk density nearly unchanged with increasing curing temperature, but the modulus of rupture was increased.

  • In order to investigate the mechanical properties of several fibers for reinforced cement these speciments with 2wol% of ARG and organic fibers were formed by vacuum extrusion process. After steam curing and autoclaving the flexural strength and the elastic modulus of FRC were measured. It was found that the ARG-FRC showed the elastic-brittle fracture behavior in both steam cured and autoclaved condition. And also the steam cured PP and PVA-FRC had elstic-plastic behavior but their ductility were reduced and changed to the elastic-brittle after autoclaving This change in mechanical behavior was found to be related to the thermal stablity of thes organic fibers.

  • Recently, research on flexible sensors for personal health management has been gaining attention. In this study, we fabricated a crack-based flexible sensor in thin film form to measure the pulse on the wrist. We evaluated the characteristics of the sensor based on the curing conditions of the PDMS (Polydimethylsiloxane) film to optimize the sensor's gauge factor. The modulus of PDMS varies depending on the curing conditions. In this case, the modulus of PDMS has a significant influence on crack formation, leading to changes in the sensitivity of the sensor. This study examined the changes in the gauge factor associated with these variations.
