This research aims to analyze the effects of stress management and family cohesion on middle-aged women. Research subjects were 322 middle-aged women living in cities K and Y ranging between 40-60 years of age. A frequency analysis, reliability analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis were carried out utilizing the SPSS 18.0 statistics program. Firstly, results showed that the most frequently shown subjects were between 40-49 years old (59.3%), married (82.7%, 267), high school graduates or less (63.2%, 204), and practiced religion (77.6%, 250). Secondly, stress management, family cohesion, and happiness were the most frequent answers in this order. Thirdly, stress management, family cohesion, and happiness all showed to have a positive correlation. Fourthly, family cohesion had no effect on happiness. Meanwhile, stress management had the biggest effect on happiness with an explanation rate of 28.2%. The implications of this research are expected to be used as base line data for future social welfare programs for the improvement of middle-aged women's happiness.
This study is a randomized controlled trial to compare the effects of light therapy on stress, depression, sleep quality and quality of life in middle-aged women. The participants of this study were 56 middle-aged women who worked at the same office. Data collection period was from August 26 to September 13 for the control group and from September 16 to October 4 for the experimental group. Subjective stress, depression, quality of sleep and quality of life in middle-aged women were measured by Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), Center for Epidemiology studies of scale (CES-D), Verran & Synder-Halpern Sleep scale (VHS) and WHO Quality of Life Scale Abbreviated Version (WHOQOL-BREF). Stress index was measured using a Canopy9 RSA (IEMBIO, Gangwondo, Korea) equipment. The data were analyzed by mean, standard deviation, real number and percentage, χ2-test, t-test, repeated measures ANOVA and ANCOVA using IBM SPSS Statistics version 25.0. The results showed that the experimental group applying light therapy had significantly lower subjective stress (F=6.30, p<.001) and higher quality of life (F=2.80, p=.049) than the control group, There was no difference in objective stress index, depression, and sleep quality. As a result, light therapy is partially effective in subjective stress and quality of life for middle-aged women, and further research is needed on middle-aged women working in work environments with limited light exposure.

This study was conducted to determine the effects of middle-aged women's social support and self-efficacy on their aging anxiety, with the ultimate goal of providing basic information for devising educational and interventive programs to help reduce aging anxiety. Participants of this study were 210 middle-aged women living in B Metropolitan City. Data were collected from May 10 to 28, 2018, and statistically processed using t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression analysis. Participants showed significant differences in aging anxiety depending on age, education, monthly income, marital life satisfaction, leisure time activities, and number of friends. In addition, aging anxiety had significant negative correlations with social support and self-efficacy, and the main factors affecting middle-aged women's aging anxiety were found to be self-efficacy, marital satisfaction and social support. Of these, self-efficacy had the greatest effect, explaining 42.7% of the participants' aging anxiety. To help middle-aged women reduce their aging anxiety, it is necessary to provide them with programs that improve social activity participation, raise self-efficacy and promote relationships with family and communities. It is also recommended that these women be provided with educational and interventive programs that help them adjust to aging and develop a positive awareness of it.

The subjects were 157 middle-aged women through convenience sampling residing in S city, C and three G provinces. The data were collected from June 15th to July 31st, 2019. The data were analyzed through t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression with SPSS/WIN 22.0. The result showed self-esteem, loneliness on subjective well-being averaged 31.39(out of 40), 35.37(out of 80), 5.03(out of 7). In term of correlations, subjective well-being of middle-aged women was significantly positively correlated with self-esteem (r=.581, p<.001), and significantly negatively related with loneliness (r =-.621, p<.001)). Variables affecting subjective well-being were self-esteem (β=.324 p<.001), loneliness(β=-.424, p<.001). These variables represented 44.5% of the subject's subjective well-being. This study focuses on an intergenerational book club with middle-aged and young people as a follow-up study on a book club with older people and young people. The book club program was designed to help people develop a reading habit and experience picture book bibliotherapy. The researcher hosted a picture book reading group between middle-aged and young participants, had individual interviews, and conducted a qualitative study to analyze research data and present implications. For middle-aged participants, the intergenerational book club was an opportunity to understand young people and their children and learn from the young people, and for young participants, it helped them understand middle-aged people and their parents and learn from the middle-aged people, allowing them to feel a sense of connection rather than a generation gap. In addition, positive effects of picture book bibliotherapy were seen while reducing stress and learning important lessons in life. The participants received help in forming a reading habit. This paper provides constructive suggestions for book clubs where different generations interact. It is hoped that through this study, intergenerational book clubs that can be used to understand other generations will be more popular and people will be able to discover the benefits of reading books including picture books and make reading a habit.

Purpose: This study aims to identify factors that influence middle-aged men's attitude towards death. Methods: The study enrolled 204 middle-aged (range=40~59 years) male residents of Daegu in Korea. Using a structured questionnaire, data were collected in October 4~30, 2010. For data analysis, we used descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheff$\grave{e}$'s test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS WIN 14.0. Results: Participants' attitude towards death significantly differed according to educational level, religion, volunteer activities, and perceived health status. Moreover, their attitude towards death was negatively correlated with life stress and depression and positively correlated with self-esteem, life satisfaction, and coping behavior. The factors influencing the attitude towards death were life satisfaction, daily stress, religion, and depression, which explained approximately 25.7% of the total variance. Conclusion: Middle-aged men perform a crucial role in our society, and their attitude toward death affects how they cope with a situational crisis such as a terminal cancer or withdrawal of life sustaining treatment. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and implement a support program for middle-aged men, which offers them with various strategies to better manage their daily stress and improve their life satisfaction and coping skills.
