전화음성에 강인한 문장종속 화자인식에 관한 연구 (On a robust text-dependent speaker identification over telephone channels)

  • This paper studies the effects of the method, CMS(Cepstral Mean Subtraction), (which compensates for some of the speech distortion. caused by telephone channels), on the performance of the text-dependent speaker identification system. This system is based on the VQ(Vector Quantization) and HMM(Hidden Markov Model) method and chooses the LPC-Cepstrum and Mel-Cepstrum as the feature vectors extracted from the speech data transmitted through telephone channels. Accordingly, we can compare the correct recognition rates of the speaker identification system between the use of LPC-Cepstrum and Mel-Cepstrum. Finally, from the experiment results table, it is found that the Mel-Cepstrum parameter is proven to be superior to the LPC-Cepstrum and that recognition performance improves by about 10% when compensating for telephone channel using the CMS.

  • In general, triangular shape filters are used in the filter bank when we get the MFCCs from the spectrum of speech signal. In [1], a new feature extraction approach is proposed, which uses specific filter shapes in the filter bank that are obtained from the spectrum of training speech data. In this approach, principal component analysis technique is applied to the spectrum of the training data to get the filter coefficients. In this paper, we carry out speech recognition experiments, using the new approach given in [1], for a large amount of telephone speech data, that is, the telephone speech database of Korean connected digit released by SITEC. Experimental results are discussed with our findings.

잡음환경및 채널왜곡에 강인한 ARS용 전화음성인식 방식 연구 (The Development of a Speech Recognition Method Robust to Channel Distortions and Noisy Environments for an Audio Response System(ARS))

  • 본고는 음성인식 기능이 추가된 음성응답장치(ARS)의 음성 인식률을 향상시키는 방법을 제안한다. ARS에 입력되는 전화음성은 안내방송, 전화잡음, 그리고 채널왜곡에 의하여 영향을 받기 때문에, 양질의 음성을 대상으로 하여 개발된 인식 알고리듬을 그대로 적용하면 상당한 인식률의 저하를 가져오게 된다. 이러한 문제점을 극복하기 위하여 본고에서는 세 가지 방법을 제안한다: 1)음성이 시작되는 순간 안내 방송을 즉시 끊기 위한 음성 입력순간의 정확한 검출, 2)Teager 에너지를 이용한 잡음 섞인 전화음성의 효과적인 끝점검출, 3)SDCN 알고리듬을 이용한 채널왜곡의 보상. 위의 세 가지 방법을 모두 결합하여 화자독립인 전화음성을 대상으로 실험한 결과, 기존의 방법이 약 23%의 인식률을 보인 반면, 제안된 방식은 약 77%의 인식률로서 상당한 성능향상을 보여주었다.

Aurora 특징파라미터 추출기법에 따른 한국어 연속숫자음 전화음성의 인식 성능 비교 (Performance Comparison of Korean Connected Digit Telephone Speech Recognition According to Aurora Feature Extraction)

  • To improve the recognition performance of Korean connected digit telephone speech, in this paper, both Aurora feature extraction method that employs noise reduction 2-state Wiener filter and DWFBA method are investigated and used. CMN and MRTCN are applied to static features for channel compensation. Telephone digit speech database released by SITEC is used for recognition experiments with HTK system. Experimental results has shown that Aurora feature is slightly better than MFCC and DWFBA without channel compensation. And when channel compensation is included, Aurora feature is slightly better than DWFBA with MRTCN.

  • 본 논문에서는, 음성 인식률 향상을 위하여 청각 특성을 기반으로 한 GFCC(gammatone filter frequency cepstrum coefficients) 파라미터를 음성 특징 파라미터로 제안한다. 그리고 전화망을 통해 얻은 고립단어를 대상으로 인식실험을 수행하였다. 성능비교를 위하여 MFCC(mel frequency cepstrum coefficients)와 LPCC(linear predictive cepstrum coefficient)를 사용하여 인식 실험을 하였다. 또한, 각 파라미터에 대하여 전화망의 채널 왜곡 보상기법으로 CMS(cepstral mean subtraction)를 도입한 방법과 적용시키지 않은 방법으로 인식실험을 하였다. 실험 결과로서, GFCC를 사용하여 인식을 수행한 방법이 다른 파라미터를 사용한 방법에 비해 향상된 결과를 얻었다.

방송뉴스 인식에서의 잡음 처리 기법에 대한 고찰 (A Study on Noise-Robust Methods for Broadcast News Speech Recognition)

  • Recently, broadcast news speech recognition has become one of the most attractive research areas. If we can transcribe automatically the broadcast news and store their contents in the text form instead of the video or audio signal itself, it will be much easier for us to search for the multimedia databases to obtain what we need. However, the desirable speech signal in the broadcast news are usually affected by the interfering signals such as the background noise and/or the music. Also, the speech of the reporter who is speaking over the telephone or with the ill-conditioned microphone is severely distorted by the channel effect. The interfered or distorted speech may be the main reason for the poor performance in the broadcast news speech recognition. In this paper, we investigated some methods to cope with the problems and we could see some performance improvements in the noisy broadcast news speech recognition.

  • The final purpose of this paper is the enhancement of speech recognition rate under the matched telephone environment between training data and test data. To analyze the effect by the distortion of the changing telephone channel on every call, MFCC is used as the feature parameter and CMN, RTCN, and RASTA are used as channel compensation techniques. For each case, the variation of feature parameters of all phones is analyzed. And, we find recognition rates according to each compensation method using the continuous HMM recognizer, and examine the relationship between variation and recognition rate.

음성 인식을 이용한 지능망 기반 일기예보 서비스 개발 (Development of a Weather Forecast Service Based on AIN Using Speech Recognition)

  • A weather forecast service with speech recognition is described. This service allows users to get the weather information of all the cities by saying the city names with just one phone call, which was not provided in the previous weather forecast service. Speech recognition is implemented in the intelligent peripheral (IP) of the advanced intelligent network (AIN). The AIN is a telephone network architecture that separates service logic from switching equipment, allowing new services to be added without having to redesign switches to support new services. Experiments in speech recognition show that the recognition accuracy is 90.06% for the general users' speech database. For the laboratory members' speech database, the accuracies are 95.04% and 93.81%, respectively in simulation and in the test on the developed system.

  • In this paper, data-driven temporal filter methods[1] are investigated for robust feature extraction. A principal component analysis technique is applied to the time trajectories of feature sequences of training speech data to get appropriate temporal filters. We did recognition experiments on the Korean connected digit telephone speech database released by SITEC, with data-driven temporal filters. Experimental results are discussed with our findings.

  • In speech recognition technology, the utterance of every talker have special resonant frequency according to shape of talker's lip and to the motion of tongue. And utterances are different according to each talker. Accordingly, we need the superior moth-od of speech feature parameter extraction which reflect talker's characteristic well. This paper suggests the modified-MfCC combined existing MFCC with gammatone filter. We experimented with speech data from telephone and then we obtained results of enhanced speech recognition rate which is higher than that of the other methods.
