Factors Influencing on the Compliance of Information Security Policy of Workers of Shipping and Port Organization (해운항만조직 구성원들의 정보보안정책 준수에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • Advances in information technology has brought many benefits to businesses, but at the same time, businesses are facing serious problems caused by its use such as information leakage. In order to cope with problems, companies have established information security policies, demanding workers of a company to be compliant with the policies. This study proposes a research model that includes information security awareness, information security attitude, self-efficacy, standard belief and social influences as factors that affect the compliance of information security policy among the workers of shipping and port organization. The results of this study showed that there was a positive relationship not only between the information security awareness and the information security attitude, but also between the information security attitude and the information security policy among the workers of shipping and port organization. It was also found that there was a positive relationship between the self-efficacy and the compliance of information security policy, and between the social influence and the compliance of information security policy. However, there was no meaningful relationship between the standard belief and the compliance of information security policy. This study examined to what extent the workers of shipping and port organization that have a high possibility of the information leakage were compliant with the information security policy. The findings will contribute to organizations of shipping and port who attempt to establish strategies related to information security.

Analysis of the Effect of the Havruta Method in Engineering Education (공학교육에서 하브루타 수업방식의 효과 분석)

  • This study aimed to explore the change of engineering students' competencies through the havruta class. In the havruta class, engineering students' competencies were compared with pre-test and post-test. The research tool was developed by selecting learning readiness, academic self-efficacy, and communication ability as the learner's competence in the havruta class. Finally, 105 data were analyzed with SPSS 21.0 for windows. First, there was a statistically significant difference in learning readiness. Second, there was no statistically significant difference in academic self-efficacy. Third, there was a statistically significant difference in communication ability. It was found that there was a positive change of competencies in learning readiness ability and communication ability in the havruta class. Although the findings are difficult to generalize to all majors, these results will be a useful basis for instructors who want to apply the havruta class.

An Empirical Study on the Factors Influencing the Acceptance of SmartWork (스마트워크 수용 영향요인에 관한 실증연구)

  • The primary purpose of this study is to identify the influencing factors on the acceptance behavior of user in smartwork. For this purpose, a research model and hypotheses are developed based on relevant literature reviews. The data have been collected from 320 potential users and respondents were employee of Daejeon and Chungnam region. The results of hypotheses testing through covariance structural model analysis are summarized as follows. First, individual innovativeness has positive influence upon perceived ease of use and acceptance intention of smartwork, and self efficacy has positive influence upon perceived ease of use. Second, subjective norm of social influence has positive influence upon perceived ease of use and image has positive influence upon perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. Third, number of exception of task characteristics has positive influence upon perceived ease of use and autonomy has positive influence upon perceived usefulness. Lastly, perceived ease of use has positive effect on the perceived usefulness and acceptance intention, and perceived usefulness positively related to acceptance intention in smartwork. Based on the findings, this study ends with theoretical and practical implications, as well as limitations and future research directions.

Factors Influencing Regular Exercise of the Elderly (일 지역 노인의 규칙적 운동수행에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing regular exercise of the elderly in discriminating regular exercise and non - regular exercise groups. Method: The subjects of this study were 167 elderly over the age of 60, living in a rural city in Korea. The data was collected by interview and self report questionnaire in 1999. The Cronbach 's alpha of scales used this study were .66 ~.97. Result: 1. There were significant differences in doing regular exercise between the perceived importance of the health(p=021), the perceived health status(p=.050), the perceived need of the exercise(p=000), the perceived importance of the exercise(p=.000), the intent of participation in the exercise program(p=.000), IADL score(p=.022), the perceived benefits of exercise (p=.000), the emotion of exercise(p=.000), HPLP(p=.000), the self efficacy(p=.001), the perceived benefits of health promoting behaviors(p= .011), the perceived barriers of the health promoting behaviors(p=.002), and the Internal locus of control(p=.021) of the elderly. 2. Variables which showed significance for discriminating regular exercise of the elderly in this study were the perceived need of the exercise(p=.000) and the perceived benefits of the exercise(p=.000). By using the combination of these variables, the possibility of proper prediction for predicting regular exercise group was 84.8 %, non - regular exercise group was 93.9%, and total Hit ratio was 89.4%. Conclusion: To improve exercise behavior in older adults, health care providers should focus of developing interventions to strengthen the perceived benefits, the perceived needs of the exercise.

A study on the effects of STEM based approach for teaching and learning mathematics (STEM 기반 수학 교수-학습 프로그램의 효과에 관한 연구)

  • The purposes of the study were to develop STEM instructional materials for teaching and learning mathematics and to investigate how the STEM based approach affects on students' learning of mathematics in cognitive and affective domain and career choice. STEM instructional materials were designed for learning of mathematical concepts in the contexts of science, technology, and engineering as well as real world. According to the results of the study, STEM instructional materials for teaching and learning mathematics were effective for improving students' problem solving ability and affective achievement such as self-regulation, self-efficacy, and value of mathematics. In addition, STEM program played a positive role in tempting students' career choice into science and engineering fields including mathematics.

Development of "L2L Teaching Model" Integrating a Hospital to School Laboratory to Strengthen Practical Education for Preliminary Clinical Laboratory Technologist (예비 임상병리사의 실무중심 교육의 강화를 위한 병원-학교 검사실 융합형(L2L) 교수학습 모형의 개발)

  • The development of teaching models to strengthen practical education and actively participate in the classes of students is now required in recent education situations. This study examined the participation and satisfaction level of students' classes after applying a teaching model-integrated hospital and school laboratory (named L2L). A total of 33 students who took the subject of a clinical microbiology experiments were involved in this study. Each group representative participating in a pre-class field exercise in the hospital microbiology laboratory was asked to conduct the experiment. After applying the L2L teaching models, the academic self-efficacy ($2.87{\pm}0.58{\rightarrow}3.38{\pm}0.55$), class participation ($2.60{\pm}0.92{\rightarrow}3.62{\pm}0.78$), and class satisfaction ($2.48{\pm}1.01{\rightarrow}3.85{\pm}0.87$) increased significantly (P<0.05). This means that pre-class field exercises created interest in the student's class and boosted self-confidence, leading to increased participation and satisfaction for the class. In conclusion, the L2L teaching model is an effective teaching method to enhance the practical training for preliminary clinical laboratory technologists.

A Study on Smartphone Acceptance for the Visually Impaired (시각장애인의 스마트폰 수용에 관한 연구)

  • Anytime, anywhere, we can be connected through the Internet and obtain information by using the smart device. However, people with disabilities are unable to take advantage of smart IT environment. Many studies pointed out that this has been the cause of the digital divide and social problems. In this study, we conducted an empirical study on the use of smart devices to help the blind acceptance of conduct. According to the study results, innovativeness had the impact on perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived enjoyment, and self-esteem and self-efficacy appeared to affect the perceived ease of use. In addition, the perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived enjoyment affected the intention to re-use. These study results contribute to both theory and practice.

Development and evaluation of training protocols for mass casualty incidents during disaster response (다수사상자사고 대응 실습교육 프로토콜 개발 및 효과성 검증)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a training protocol to standardize the management of mass casualties as part of the disaster response, and to verify the effectiveness of the training protocol. Methods: The study was conducted as a quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group and pretest-posttest design. The protocol was divided into 5 parts, the first for the advance party, the second for the rescue team, the third for the paramedic team, the fourth for the ambulance team, and the fifth for the 119 EMS team. This study was conducted on November 15, 2021 and consisted of 21 subjects in the final experimental group and 23 subjects in the control group. In this study, the prior homogeneity test was analyzed using the χ2-test, intragroup comparisons were analyzed using the paired t-test, and intragroup comparisons were analyzed using the independent t-test. Results: The protocol was developed in five parts: advance party, rescue team, paramedics team, ambulance team, and 119 EMS team. In verifying the effectiveness of the protocol, it was found that there were significant differences in self-efficacy (t=-0.941, p=0.001) and self confidence within the group (t=-0.025, p=0.001) after the implementation of the mass casualty incident response training program. However, there was no significant difference between the experimental and control groups. Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study, it is believed that disaster response personnel can experience lower levels of anxiety and tension in disaster situations if they receive practical and realistic education and training. In the future, it is necessary to enhance protocol based practical education that can improve the knowledge and skills of each team and individual.

  • This paper examined the information literacy which is the concrete purpose of the ICT using education which appeared in order to elevate the effects of education in school after the introduction of the 7th educational curriculum. Based on TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) that provides useful theoretical foundations for analyzing the factors influencing acceptance and diffusion of IT, it determined the factors influencing the process of accepting the information literacy instruction as follows: perceived usefulness; perceived ease of use; attitude; effects of the information literacy instruction; teachers' innovation; school library relevance; school librarians' support; and the self-efficacy. This paper confirmed the influences of these factors on the process of accepting the information literacy through empirical study. Through this study, it intended to suggest the ways to activate of the information literacy instruction.

A Study of Factors Influencing the Intention of University Students to Accept Healthcare Information Technology Services (대학생의 건강정보기술서비스 수용의도에 미치는 영향요인)

  • This study presents research into the patterns that affect the understanding and acceptance of healthcare management systems as part of a healthcare information technology infrastructure targeted at university students. The participants were 623 university students in D city and K province. This study employed a descriptive and correlational cross-sectional survey and made use of the ubiquitous healthcare management services measurement scale. 48.5% of respondents had accessed healthcare-related information on the Internet. Among the independent variables of general characteristics related to perceived susceptibility was found to have adj $R^2$ of 11% while the other dependent factors reported much lower between 0.5 to 4.7%. Female respondents, medical-related majors, self-efficacy, and intention to use had significant positive effects while health beliefs and concern had a significant negative effect on the intentional acceptance of healthcare information technology systems.
