Battery use is increasing worldwide to achieve carbon neutrality and improve energy efficiency, but batteries are a finite resource and their application is determined by capacity and specifications. Battery performance deteriorates as the number of uses increases. A certain level of battery performance degradation has become an issue in the field of reuse and recycling, and various studies are being conducted on reuse to solve power shortages. Waste batteries from electric vehicles are suitable for building ESS based on reusable batteries, and for stable use, technical skills are needed to accurately predict battery life and determine status information. Predicting battery life and determining status information are difficult due to non-linearity due to internal structure or chemical changes. In this paper, we manufactured a modular internal resistance measuring device and compared the measured values with Hioki equipment to minimize the error rate through a correction method. As a result of testing Hioki equipment and modular measuring instruments to ensure efficiency and safety based on reusable batteries, an accuracy of over 95% was confirmed.
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to assess the characteristics of tooth surface after using Gracy curet and Ultrasonic scaler Methods: In this study, 12 teeth extracted were used. 12 specimens were divided into three groups with the same numbers, which were classified into Control group, Gracy curet use group, and Ultrasonic scaler use group, and after performing instrument operation, we measured the roughness and the loss degree of tooth surface by using SEM. Results: In groups using Gracy curet and Ultrasonic scaler, the roughness and the loss of tooth surface increased significantly(p<0.05). In the roughness of groups using Gracy curet and Ultrasonic scaler, Ultrasonic scaler group was higher in crown, but Gracy curet group was higher in root. As a result of observation through SEM, the roughness and the loss degree increased in order of Control group, Ultrasonic scaler use group, and Gracy curet use group. Conclusions: Taken together above results, both hand instrument and ultrasound equipment create roughness and loss in crown and in root, and hand instruments makes rougher than ultrasonic instruments in root, so it is thought to require thorough and accurate technical application not to damage tooth surface when removing plaque.
The inter-comparison project for seawater salinity measurements, in which 25 laboratories from 16 countries took part, was conducted by JCOMM (Joint WMO/IOC Technical Commission for Oceanography and Marine Meteorology) for the first time in 2014. Two seawater samples of different salinity values ranging from 30-35 and 20-25 for Sample A and Sample B respectively and which had sufficient homogeneity and stability were distributed to all participants. Participants measured the salinity in their own laboratories at least 3 times and reported the results. Statistical treatments were applied to the results to assess discrepancies among laboratories. 20 out of the 25 laboratories used laboratory salinometers and statistics for this group were denoted as belonging to group ${\alpha}$; while 5 out of the 25 laboratories used hand-held measuring instruments and statistics for this group were denoted as belonging to group ${\beta}$. Bias described as discrepancy among laboratories in group ${\alpha}$ was within ${\pm}0.001$ and expanded uncertainty (k = 2) was in the vicinity of 0.002. The bias and the uncertainty of Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST), in group ${\alpha}$, were 0.000 and 0.002, respectively. The biases of group ${\beta}$ were greater than group ${\alpha}$ because of constraints related to instrument accuracy. Biases from 3 laboratories in group ${\beta}$ exceed the accuracy specification of the corresponding instruments. Considering that the uncertainty of Standard Seawater (SSW) is of the order 0.001 to 0.002, the inter-comparison results show that 16 laboratories among the 25 laboratories made high quality measurements, largely indistinguishable from one another.

ILO has contributed for seafarers to promote conditions of employment and decent work through maritime labour standards. Between 1920 and 1996, a total of 39 Conventions and 29 Recommendations concerning seafarers have been adopted, which demonstrates the import part of ILO activities devoted to seafarers' questions. But many instruments were outdated, deficient and not reflective of modern practice, many contained technical detail which discouraged ratification. the Governing Body of ILO, at its 262nd Session(March-April 1995), decided to set up a Working Party regarding the revision of maritime labour standards. This Working Party initiated its examination of maritime instruments to 273rd Session(November 1998) of the Governing Body. The review made by the Working Party has concluded that existing maritime Conventions were considered either up to date or were identified for promotion, most of which were approved by the Governing Body. Therefore, ILO started to create a single, coherent instrument embodying as far as possible all up-to-date standards of existing maritime labour convention. The Maritime Labour Convention 2006 has been adopted in February 2006. This paper aims to analyze the significance of this convention and the influence regarding to maritime labour affairs in the field of shipping industry.

Background: Fatigue is pervasive, under-reported, and potentially deadly where flight operations are concerned. The aviation industry appears to lack a standardized, practical, and easily replicable protocol for fatigue risk assessment which can be consistently applied across operators. Aim: Our paper sought to present a framework, supported by real-world data with subjective and objective parameters, to monitor aircrew fatigue and performance, and to determine the safe crew configuration for commercial airline operations. Methods: Our protocol identified risk factors for fatigue-induced performance degradation as triggers for fatigue risk and performance assessment. Using both subjective and objective measurements of sleep, fatigue, and performance in the form of instruments such as the Karolinska Sleepiness Scale, Samn-Perelli Crew Status Check, Psychomotor Vigilance Task, sleep logs, and a wearable actigraph for sleep log correlation and sleep duration and quality charting, a workflow flagging fatigue-prone flight operations for risk mitigation was developed and trialed. Results: In an operational study aimed at occupational assessment of fatigue and performance in airline pilots on a three-men crew versus a four-men crew for a long-haul flight, we affirmed the technical feasibility of our proposed framework and approach, the validity of the battery of assessment instruments, and the meaningful interpretation of fatigue and work performance indicators to enable the formulation of safe work recommendations. Conclusion: A standardized occupational assessment protocol like ours is useful to achieve consistency and objectivity in the occupational assessment of fatigue and work performance.

Today, many smart sensor's measurement instruments are used to check the safety situation of various medium and large bridge structures that should be maintained in the construction facilities, but most of them use the method of measuring and confirming the displacement behavior of the bridge at regular intervals. In order to continuously check the safety situation, various measuring instruments are used, but most of them are not able to measure and measure the displacement and behavior of main construction structures at regular intervals. In this study, GNSS and environment smart sensors and drone's image data are transmitted to wireless network so that risk of many bridge's structures can be detected beforehand. As a result, by diagnosing the fine displacement of the bridge in real time and its condition, reinforcement, repair and disaster prevention measures for the structural parts of the bridges, which are expected to be dangerous, and various disasters and accidents can be prevented, and disaster can be prevented could suggest a new alternative.

BACKGROUND: Chemical accidents have increased owing to chemical usage, human error and technical failures during the last decades. Many countries have organized supervisory authorities in charge of enforcing related rules and regulations to prevent chemical accidents. A very important part in chemical accidents has been coping with comprehensive first aid tool. Therefore, the present research has provided information with the initial applications concern to the rapid analysis of hazardous material using instruments in vehicle of field mode after chemical accidents. METHODS AND RESULTS: Mobile measurement vehicle was manufactured to obtain information regarding field assessments of chemical accidents. This vehicle was equipped with four instruments including gas chromatography with mass spectrometry (GC/MS), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), Ion Chromatography (IC), and UV/Vis spectrometer (UV) to analyses of accident preparedness substances, volatile compounds, and organic gases. Moreover, this work was the first examined the evaluation of applicability for analysis instruments using 20 chemicals in various accident preparedness substances (GC/MS; 6 chemicals, FT-IR; 2 chemicals, IC; 11 chemicals, and UV; 1 chemical) and their calibration curves were obtained with high linearity ( r 2 > 0.991). Our results were observed the advantage of the high chromatographic peak capacity, fast analysis, and good sensitivity as well as resolution. CONCLUSION: When chemical accidents are occurred, the posted measurement vehicle may be utilized as tool an effective for qualitative and quantitative information in the scene of an accident owing to the rapid analysis of hazardous material.
Facing the 4th Industrial Revolution era, researches on artificial intelligence have become active and attempts have been made to apply machine learning in various fields. In the field of finance, Robo Advisor service, which analyze the market, make investment decisions and allocate assets instead of people, are rapidly expanding. The stock price prediction using the machine learning that has been carried out to date is mainly based on the prediction of the market index such as KOSPI, and utilizes technical data that is fundamental index or price derivative index using financial statement. However, most researches have proceeded without any explicit verification of the prediction rate of the learning data. In this study, we conducted an experiment to determine the degree of market prediction ability of basic indicators, technical indicators, and system risk indicators (AR) used in stock price prediction. First, we set the core parameters for each financial indicator and define the objective function reflecting the return and volatility. Then, an experiment was performed to extract the sample from the distribution of each parameter by the Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method and to find the optimum value to maximize the objective function. Since Robo Advisor is a commodity that trades financial instruments such as stocks and funds, it can not be utilized only by forecasting the market index. The sample for this experiment is data of 17 years of 1,500 stocks that have been listed in Korea for more than 5 years after listing. As a result of the experiment, it was possible to establish a meaningful trading strategy that exceeds the market return. This study can be utilized as a basis for the development of Robo Advisor products in that it includes a large proportion of listed stocks in Korea, rather than an experiment on a single index, and verifies market predictability of various financial indicators.

Today's requirements for print-press runnability and print quality demand an optimised absorption and adhesion of printing ink on the paper surface. Modern coating concepts for high glossing offset grades use ultra fine pigments, whereas binder level has continuously been decreased to a minimum in recent years to achieve the highest possible sheet gloss development and for economical reasons. Both the ultra fine pigments and the reduced binder levels lead in many cases to a faster ink setting rate. On the other hand, matt paper grades use relatively coarse pigments leading to a slow ink setting compared to the high glossing papers. Both too fast and too slow ink setting properties implicate drawbacks in print quality and print press runnability. The mechanisms behind the interactions between ink and coating have been presented in many previous publications. The purpose of this study was to determine and quantify how the ink setting rate is influenced by pigment system (GCC and GCC/clay blends), latex level and latex properties in the topcoat of double coated sheet fed offset paper. The roles of binder level and type in the precoat were also assessed. The effect of calendering (temperature and pressure) was studied with one formulation. The resulting ink setting characteristics were tested using three different laboratory testing instruments. The correlation amongst the different laboratory testing methods is discussed. The results show that by varying the latex properties, the pigment system and/or latex addition level, the ink tack development of ink applied to a topcoat pigment system can be significantly influenced. It can be slowed down as often desired with ultra fine pigments or speeded up in the case of coarse pigments.
