일 지역 간호대학생의 액션러닝 교수학습 방법 적용의 효과: 리더십, 문제 해결능력, 일상적 창의성, 비판적사고 성향 (The Effect of Action Learning Teaching-Learning Method Applied to Nursing Students in U City)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine differences between the traditional lecture teaching learning method and action learning teaching learning method of nursing students' leadership, problem solving competence, creativity, and critical thinking disposition. Methods: This study was carried out from February 24, 2014 to May 30, 2014 with 171 nursing students (an experimental group of 88 students and a control group of 83 students) assigned among $2^{nd}$ year students attending nursing departments in U city. The Action learning teaching learning method applied to the experimental group by two experts. The Traditional lecture teaching learning method applied to the control group. In order to compare the differences, a pre and post questionnaire were used. The data gathered was analyzed using the SPSS 22. Results: Upon completion of education the nursing students' leadership, problem solving competence and creativity significantly increased both in the experimental group and in the control group compared to the pre testing phase. The critical thinking disposition significantly increased after education in the experimental group, but there was no significant change in the critical thinking disposition of the control group. Conclusion: To improve nursing students' leadership, problem solving competence, creativity, and critical thinking disposition the action learning teaching learning method appears to be more effective than the traditional lecture teaching learning method.

How do one expert mathematics teacher in China implement deep teaching in problem-solving and problem-posing classroom: A case study

  • In this paper, the author analyzed characteristics of deep mathematics learning in problem solving and problem-posing classroom teaching. Based on a simple wrong plane geometry problem, the author describes the classroom experience how one expert Chinese mathematics teacher guides students to modify geometry problems from solution to investigation, and guides the students to learn how to pose mathematics problems in inquiry-based deep learning classroom. This also demonstrates how expert mathematics teacher can effectively guide students to teach deep learning in regular classroom.

블렌디드 러닝(blended learning)을 적용한 기본간호학 실습교육에서 성찰일지의 작성이 간호학생의 메타인지와 문제해결능력에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Writing Reflective Journal on Meta-cognition and Problem Solving Ability in Nursing Students taking a Fundamental Nursing Skills Course Applying Blended Learning)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to contribute to the development of an efficient teaching-learning method by analyzing effects of writing reflective journals on meta-cognition and problem solving ability in nursing students in education applying blended learning for fundamental nursing skills. Methods: The research design was a one-group pretest-posttest design, done to assess changes in meta-cognition and problem solving ability. Participants were 63 nursing students taking the fundamental nursing skills course at one college in Gyeonggi Province. The course was offered from March 21 to June 3, 2016. Data were collected using pre and post tests given before and after writing of reflective journals in blended learning. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}^{\prime}s$ test and paired t-test with SPSS Statistics version 20.0. Results: The results of this study show that scores for meta-cognition and problem solving ability of these students were all above average. There was a statistically significant difference in meta-cognition between pre and post writing of reflective journals but not for problem-solving ability. Conclusion: The findings indicate that writing a reflective journal in blended learning is an efficient teaching-learning method to improve meta-cognition in nursing students.

  • Learning computational thinking is very important in programming education. Computational thinking refers to the problem solving ability based on the theories of computer science, indicating the importance of algorithm thinking. That is the reason for focusing on promoting creativity and improving the problem solving ability of the students in programming education. This paper commented the elements to consider for teachers when teaching computational thinking to elementary school students with online coding education website 'code.org' that helps beginners have easy programming experiences based on the characteristics of the website, and proposed the appropriate teaching methods.

A Design-Based Research on Application of Artificial Intelligence(AI) Teaching-Learning Model in Elementary School

  • Recently, artificial intelligence(AI) has been used throughout society, and social interest in it is increasing. Accordingly, the necessity of AI education is becoming a big topic in the education field. As a response to this trend, the Korean education authorities have also announced plans for AI education, and various studies have been performed in academic field to revitalize AI education in the future. However, the curriculum research on what differentiates AI education from existing SW education and what and how to train AI is still in its infancy. In this paper, Therefore, we focused on the experiences of elementary school students in solving problems in their own lives, and developed a teaching-learning model based on design-based research so that students can design a problem-solving process and experience the process of feedback. We applied the developed teaching-learning model to the problem-solving process and confirmed that it increased students' understanding and satisfaction with AI education.

숙련된 교사의 문장제 문제해결 지도 전략 - 미국 교사들을 중심으로 (Exemplary Teachers' Teaching Strategies for Teaching Word Problems)

  • 본 연구는 미국의 숙련된 수학 교사들의 문장제 문제 해결 지도 전략에 대한 연구이며 그것들이 학생들의 문장제 문제 해결에 어떤 영향을 끼치는지에 대한 연구이기도 하다. 관찰된 미국 교사들은 문장제 문제 해결 지도과정에 있어 공통적으로 문제의 배경에 대한 설명을 자세히 함으로써 학생들의 수학 문제해결에 대한 동기를 유발하는 공통점을 지녔고, 학생들이 문제 자체에 대해 분명히 이해할 수 있도록 만들었으며 더 나아가 학생들 자신이 다양한 해결 전략을 이용하여 문제 해결을 것이 가능케 하였다. 또한, 교사와 학생들 그리고 학생과 학생의 '의사소통'을 강조하여 언제든 자신의 수학적 아이디어를 제시할 수 있는 자유스러운 분위기를 제공하였다. '의사소통'은 교사와 학생 그리고 학생들이 문제 풀이 자체에만 얽매이지 않고 배경지식을 활용하여 문제를 이해하는 과정을 가능케 하였고, 끊임없는 질문과 의문을 통해 문제 해결전략을 세우고 그 문제를 해결하고 다시 정리하고 반성하는 전반에 걸친 원동력이 되어주었다. 또한 이 연구는 Polya의 문제해결 전략 4단계를 보완하는 모델을 제공하였다.

직관적·형식적 탐구 기반의 문제해결식 접근법에 따른 수학 문제해결 지도 방안 탐색 (A Study on the Mathematical Problem Solving Teaching based on the Problem solving approach according to the Intuitive and the Formal Inquiry)

  • Mathematical problem solving has become a major concern in school mathematics, and methods to enhance children's mathematical problem solving abilities have been the main topics in many mathematics education researches. In addition to previous researches about problem solving, the development of a mathematical problem solving method that enables children to establish mathematical concepts through problem solving, to discover formalized principles associated with concepts, and to apply them to real world situations needs. For this purpose, I examined the necessity of problem solving education and reviewed mathematical problem solving researches and problem solving models for giving the theoretical backgrounds. This study suggested the problem solving approach based on the intuitive and the formal inquiry which are the basis of mathematical discovery and inquiry process. And it is developed to keep the balance and complement of the conceptual understanding and the procedural understanding respectively. In addition, it consisted of problem posing to apply the mathematical principles in the application stage.

A Case Study of Problem-Based Learning and Action Learning at a University

  • Many universities are searching for educational methods to cultivate problem-solving ability and cooperative learning ability or already trying to implement them. Problem Based Learning(PBL) and Action Learning(AL) are effective teaching and learning methods to cultivate men of talent qualified for problem-solving and cooperative learning abilities that universities are seeking after. PBL and AL have something in common in that learning is accomplished while learners are solving the authentic problem. But, in spite of this similarity, PBL and AL have differences. However, most literatures and cases on these two models introduce only the outline of commons and differences and do not provide teachers with actual helping aids to select a model appropriate for the actual design or operation of classes. Accordingly, many teachers usually select and utilize a familiar model rather than select a proper model to the nature of a subject and the educational goal. Teaching and learning methods or learning environment should be selected appropriately to the educational goal. This study indicates the characteristics of PBL and AL that are being introduced and utilized as a principal teaching and learning method of college education and then shows how this method can be realized in the university by comparing the cases of classes applied in two methods.

영재 학생들을 위한 과학사-CPS 수업 모형을 활용한 분자생물 영역 수업 프로그램의 개발 및 적용 (The Development and Application of Teaching Programs about Molecular Genetics Based on the HS-CPS Model for Gifted Students)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 영재 학생들을 위해 과학사-CPS 수업 모형(HS-CPS 모델)을 활용한 분자생물 영역 수업 프로그램의 개발 및 적용하는 것이다. 수업 프로그램의 주제는 문헌을 통한 과학사 분석으로 추출하였다. 총 12차시의 수업 프로그램을 개발하였으며 개발한 수업이 영재학생들의 과학 창의적 문제해결력과 해당 영역 개념 향상에 효과적이었는지를 분석하였다. 그 결과 본 연구에서 개발한 수업 프로그램은 영재 학생들의 과학창의적 문제해결력과 그 하위요소인 유창성, 융통성 향상에 도움을 주었으나 독창성 향상에는 큰 차이를 나타내지 못하였다. 개념 검사 결과에서는 생명과학 기초개념, DNA와 유전자 개념 모두 많은 향상을 나타내었다. 수업 평가 설문지 결과에서는 학생들이 대부분 수업 프로그램에 대해 긍정적인 평가를 하였으며 본 수업을 통해 창의적 문제해결력이 향상되었다고 느꼈고 과학사적 접근을 체험할 수 있었다고 평가하였다.

표준화환자를 활용한 실습교육이 피하주사 간호수행능력, 자기주도학습 준비도 및 문제해결능력에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Teaching Method using Standardized Patients on Nursing Competence in Subcutaneous Injection, Self-Directed Learning Readiness, and Problem Solving Ability)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of teaching method using Standardized Patients (SPs) on nursing competence, self-directed learning readiness, and problem solving ability-focusing on subcutaneous insulin injection. Methods: This research was a nonequivalent control group non-synchronized post-test design. The subjects consisted of 62 junior nursing students at E University. Scenarios to train SPs and checklists to evaluate the students' competence were developed by our research team. The experimental group (n=31) participated in the teaching class using SPs. The control group (n=31) received traditional practice education. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive analysis, $\chi^2$/Fisher's exact test, t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and Cronbach's $\alpha$ using SPSS WIN 14.0 Program. Results: The mean scores of competence, self-directed learning readiness, and problem solving were significantly higher in the experimental group than the control group. Conclusion: As confirmed by this research findings, the teaching method using SPs was more effective than the traditional method to improve junior nursing students' competence, self-directed learning readiness, and problem solving. Therefore, It is necessary to develop a various of scenarios and to testify their effectiveness.
