The purpose of this study was to examine the change of the beginning science teachers' perception change through the mentoring program. Participants in this study were four mento-teachers, one university professor, two teachers in doctor, two teacher in doctor's or master's course, and four mentee-teachers who had less than three years teaching experience. We performed five times one to one mentoring for a year. We collected data such as video recordings of mentee-teacher's classes, lesson plans, recording of one to one mentoring and transcription, mento and mentee journals, preliminary-interim-post interview and transcription, and RTOP class observation report. Based on the result of this study, five times mentoring over a year changed mentee-teacher's perception and their teaching practice.
This study examined the perception of teachers and students on the practice of elementary science class. For this study, an examination tool was made by extracting characteristics of good science class through precedent study investigation and revising it in a questionnaire form of a Likert scale, and conducted to 194 elementary teachers and 320 elementary students. As a result of the study, teachers generally perceived science class positively and teachers with career more than 6 years thought it more positively than them with career less than 5 years. Consequently students have a substantially positive perception level about the practice of the elementary science class, and students of 3th and 4th grade perceived science class positively than 5th and 6th grade in all domains. Finally when analyzing perception difference between teachers and students about the practice of the elementary science class, it appeared that students perceived science class more positively than teachers in most questions.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between health perception and health promoting lifestyle with female teacher at elementary school. Method: The survey was carried out on a convenience sample of 757 teachers in B metropolitan city. Data were collected from November to December, 2004, by using the Health Perception Questionnaire and Health promoting lifestyle Profile(HPLP), and analyzed by SPSS program. Result: 1. The score of health perception status was $2.82{\pm}0.24$, and health promoting lifestyle was $2.61{\pm}0.41$. The highest subcategory of health promoting lifestyle was self actualization, and the lowest one was health responsibility. 2. Health perception was significantly correlated with health promoting lifestyle. 3. Health perception was significantly different according to economic status. 4. Health promoting lifestyle was significantly different according to age, career and economic status. Conclusion: This study revealed that the health perception is an important factor related to the health promoting lifestyle of female elementary school teacher. Therefore, helping consciously the health perception and health promoting lifestyle of female elementary school teacher to do their job attainment and at same time it has to be a model to the student's health promoting lifestyle.
This study aims to investigate the disparity between the teacher's perception of student-centered inquiry classes and the actual implementation of such practices. Specifically, we compared an elementary science teacher's self-perception of her science lessons with the observers' evaluation using the Reformed Teaching Observation Protocol (RTOP) of the "Temperature and Heat" unit. Research data were collected through classroom teaching survey, interview, and science lessons video which were analyzed using the RTOP. As a result of the study, the teacher recognized that she was practicing inquiry-oriented/student-centered classes, but the results judged by the RTOP score were found to be transitional/student-affected classes by a slight difference. Teacher H planned and practiced classes based on a high understanding and content knowledge of the curriculum and created a science classroom culture that promotes active interaction among students as well as students and teachers. However, teacher-led aspects were still emphasized in teaching design and implementation, and the project theme and content were inappropriate to improve the quality of students' science inquiry experience. In the end, the slight difference between teacher's perception of inquiry-oriented/student-centered classes and actual implementation is related to how student-centered "lesson design" is and how to plan and implement classes supported by "procedural knowledge" for students' experience in the science inquiry process. These results indicate that the teacher's self-evaluation alone is not enough to determine whether the teacher's intentions and efforts are actually being implemented, and that it is necessary to conduct objective analysis, evaluation, and discuss the results of science classes by the external observers.
The purpose of this study was to determine if teachers' perception of professionalism, teaching intentions, and the quality of teacher-child interactions differed by teachers' education and career and how those variables were associated with one another. It was conducted in 50 teachers who were in charge of two- to five-year-olds at 22 national/public, private, and employer-supported childcare centers in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. Arnett's (1989) Caregiver Interaction Scale (CIS) translated by Choi and Shin (2015) was used to measure the quality of teacher-child interactions, and the Current Status and Self-Desire for Professional Competence scale developed by Wang (2005) and translated and revised by Jeong (2016) was used to measure a teacher's perception of professionalism. The Teaching Intention Scale (TIS) developed by Wilcox-Herzog and Ward (2004) and translated and revised by the researcher was used to measure teaching intentions. The researcher and the research assistant personally visited the centers to observe the teachers for the quality of teacher-child interactions and a questionnaire for teachers was used to determine a teacher's perception of professionalism and teaching intentions. For data analysis, t-test and Pearson's product-moment correlation analysis were performed on the basis of the questions. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: First, the quality of teacher-child interactions differed insignificantly by education or career. Second, teacher's perception of professionalism differed significantly by teachers' career but differed insignificantly by education: the longer career, the better perception of professionalism. Third, teaching intentions differed insignificantly by education or career. Fourth, teachers with better perception of professionalism showed higher quality of teacher-child interaction. Fifth, The higher level of teaching intentions teachers showed the more sensitive interactions they made with children.

This study examined the relationships between the cognitions and strategies of child's problem behaviors depending on the level of preschool teacher's professional development. Participants were 176 preschool teachers in B Metropolitan city. The teachers completed rating scales to measure teacher's professional development, the perception of child's problem behaviors, and teacher's guiding strategies for child's problem behaviors. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson correlations. Results showed that there were different cognitions of child's problem behaviors depending on the level of teacher's professional development. Secondly, child's problem behavior guiding strategies by the level of teacher's professional development were significant differences in the positive prevention strategy I, II, and the positive reaction strategy. Finally, there were somewhat different relationship between the cognition of child's problem behaviors and the problem behavior guiding strategies according to the level of teacher's professional development. Findings are discussed in terms of the importance of teacher's professional development in the context of teacher's education planning for teacher's guiding strategy about preschooler's problem behavior.
This study is mainly concerned with researching the perception and the actual conditions of the body education in the kindergarten. For the purpose of this study, the research was carried out using 150 early childhood teachers located in Pusan. Data were collected from survey and interview with early childhood teachers June 2014 to March 2015. Interview proceeded total 5 sessions by study participant and that was required about 1 hours. Questionnaire extracts basis category that analyzes literatures and researches related to body systematically and arranged question category and contents according to investigator's study objective. The results of the study were, first, There is need for deterritorialization and reterritorialization in perception of the teachers of the children's body. second, we need learning and teaching based on children body in teaching and learning activities. It begins with perception change of teacher. And these activity in the classroom are required accordingly. Third, the method for reducing the gap between teacher's perception of body and teaching activities have to be provided.
The purpose of this study was to investigate young children's perceptions of a teacher assistant robot, IrobiQ. in a kindergarten classroom. The subjects of this study were 23 6-year-olds attending to G kindergarten located in E city, Korea, where the teacher assistant robot had been in operation since Oct. 2008. Each child responded to questions assessing the child's perceptions of IrobiQ's identity regarding four domains : it's biological, intellectual, emotional and social identity. Some questions asked the child to affirm or deny some characteristics pertaining to the robot and the other questions asked the reasons for the answer given. The results indicated that while majority of children considered an IrobiQ not as a biological entity, but as a machine, they thought it could have an emotion and be their playmate. The implications of these results are two folds : firstly, they force us to reconsider the traditional ontological categories regarding intelligent service robots to understand human-robot interaction and secondly, they open up an ecological perspective on the design of teacher assistant robots for use with young children in early childhood education settings.
