The objective of this study is to verify the effects among communication between child-caring teachers and parents, teacher's burn-out and efficacy. An object of the study was totally 165 child-caring teachers, and the questionnaires survey results were used for statistical analysis by using questionnaires for survey constructed by Likert 5 point scale as a measuring scale. Collected data was statistically analyzed with SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 statistical program, and the statistical significance was verified with a significant level of 5%. The main results were withdrawn as follows. First, the communication between child-caring teachers and parents has a negatively significant effect on the child-caring teacher's burn-out. Second, the child-caring teacher's burn-out has a negatively significant effect on child-caring teacher's efficacy. Third, the communication between child-caring teachers and parents has a positively significant effect on child-caring teacher's efficacy. Fourth, the child-caring teacher's burn-out has a significant mediation effect between the communication and the teacher's efficacy. These results implies the importance of the communication between child-caring teachers and parents in order to decrease teacher's burn-out which is negative factor for teacher's efficacy.
This study examined the influences of children's playfulness and teacher-child interactions on their peer interactions, and investigated whether teacher-child interactions had any moderating effects upon the relation between child playfulness and peer interactions. The participants of this study were 240 children in fourth year classes in child care centers in Seoul and Gyoung-gi province and 24 of their teachers. In order to measure the research variables, the Korean version of PIPPS(Pen Interaction Peer Play Scale) by Choi and Shin(2008), the Children's Playfulness Scale(Barnett, 1991), and the modified version of the Caregiver Interaction Scale(Arnett, 1989) were used. The data were analyzed by means of descriptive statics, Pearson's correlations, and hierarchical regression analysis. The results indicated that children's playfulness and teacher-child interactions had significant effects on their peer interactions. Especially, the teacher-child interactions were related to the play disruption and the play disconnection of peer interactions. In addition, teacher-child interactions moderated the effect of children's social spontaneity(children's playfulness) on their play disconnection(peer interactions). The results have some implications for the role of teacher-child interactions in peer play interactions and a range of prevention efforts.

This study examined the influence of early childhood teacher's emotional expressiveness and play teaching efficacy on children-teacher interactions. The subjects of the study were 272 early childhood teachers. The instruments were the Emotional Expressiveness Scale, Play Teaching Efficacy Scale, and Children-teacher Interaction Scale. The SPSS 22.0 program was used to analyze the results of this study, and the data were analyzed through frequency and percentage, Pearson's probability correlation, and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study were as follows. First, there was a positive correlation among positive emotional expressiveness, which is a subcategory of emotional expressiveness, play teaching efficacy, and children-teacher interaction of early childhood teachers. On the other hand, there was a negative correlation with negative emotional expressiveness, which is a subcategory of emotional expressiveness. Second, children-teacher interactions of early childhood teachers were influenced by their emotional expressiveness and play teaching efficacy. In conclusion, this study revealed a significant correlation between the emotional expression of early childhood teachers, play teaching efficacy, and the children-teacher interaction, and that both variables were factors influencing the children-teacher interactions.
The effectiveness of behavior group counseling using the games of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD) was studied with 24 primary school children (12 each in the experimental and in the control groups). The subjects were selected on the basis of the Abbreviated Conners Teacher Rating Scale-Revised. The counseling program consisted of 12 sessions over a 6-week period. Effectiveness of the training was evaluated with the Conners Teacher Rating Scale-Revised, the ADHD teacher's rating scale, and the Korea-Child Behavior Checklist. Findings were that the group receiving counseling exhibited improved attention, social relationships, and self control. They also exhibited decreased carelessness-passivity, hyperactivity, hostility and fewer behavior problems.
The Ecological variables studied in relation to children's school adjustment were organisms(grade, sex, perceived competence, aggression and withdrawal), microsystems(parental support, marital conflict and supervision, peer victimization and perceived teacher attitude), mesosystems(family-peer relationships, family-school relationships) and the exosystem(neighborhood environment). The sample consisted of 565 fifth and sixth grade children. Instruments were the School Adjustment Scale and Index of organisms, microsystems, mesosystems, and exosystem variables. Statistics and methods used for the data analysis were Cronbach's alpha, frequency, percentage, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression. Several major results were found from the analysis. First, children's school adjustment showed positive correlations with perceived competence, parental support and supervision, perceived teacher attitude, family/peer and family/school relationships and neighborhood environment but showed negative correlations with grade, aggression, withdrawal and parental marital conflict and peer victimization. Second, the most important variable predicting child's relationship with teacher, his/her academic adjustment and satisfaction in schoolwas perceived teacher attitude. And the most important variable predicting children's peer relationships in school was perceived social competence.
This study was carried out to evaluate on the job implementation of ITEC(Invention Teacher Education Center)'s in-service teacher training. To accomplish this purpose, teacher's perception on retention, usefulness, utilization, and enhancement were investigated after one year completing in-service teacher training. The populations of this study were 60 teachers completing in-service teacher training of the southeast ITEC. The methods of this study were survey research and qualitative content analysis. The subjects of survey research were 30 teachers and the case analysis objects were 12 epilogues of in-service teacher training. The mean of job implementation of southeast ITEC's in-service teacher training was 4.07 on a five-point scale. Teacher's perception on job implementation sub factors after one year completing in-service teacher training were as follows. The mean of enhancement factor was 4.39, usefulness factor was 4.11, utilization factor was 3.94, and retention factor was 3.82 on a five-point scale. The mean of enhancement factor and usefulness factor were relatively high level as compared with the mean of job implementation and the mean of utilization factor and retention factor were relatively low level as compared with the mean of job implementation. The results of qualitative content analysis about 12 epilogues of in-service teacher training, some significant instances were deducted that representable retention, usefulness, utilization, and enhancement factors directly and indirectly.
Objective: This study investigated the relationship between preschool teachers' creativity, teaching efficacy, and creativity-fostering teaching and examined the mediating effect of teaching efficacy. Methods: A total of 202 preschool teachers participated in this study. The Creative Behavior Inventory (CBI), Teaching Efficacy Scale, and the Creativity-Fostering Teacher Behavior Index (CFTI) were used for the survey. A hypothesized model and alternative model were tested using structural equation modeling. Collected data were analyzed using 18.0 PSAW and AMOS. Results: The results showed that preschool teachers' creativity was positively associated with their teaching efficacy and creativity fostering teaching. Preschool teacher's teaching efficacy positively related to their creativity fostering teaching. Preschool teachers' creativity had a significant positive direct effect on creativity-fostering teaching and also an indirect effect on creativity-fostering teaching via teaching efficacy. Conclusion/Implications: Implications to foster creativity in preschool and kindergarten are discussed, highlighting the necessity for teacher education to promote teaching efficacy as well as teacher's creativity and creativity-related activities.
This study sought to determine the mediating effect of followership in the relationship between the leadership of child care center director and empowerment as perceived by child care teachers. Data were collected from 294 child care teachers in child care centers located in four cities labeled A, B and C through a structured questionnaire. To describe data the Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis were computed. The level of child care center director's leadership which child care teacher perceived was 3.64 points in a scale of 5 points, child care teacher's empowerment was 3.50 points in a scale of 5 points and followership was 3.30 points in a scale of 5 points. COMMENT A positive correlations were found between leadership, empowerment and followership. Followership was shown to be a mediating variable between child care teachers' perceptions of leadership and empowerment. Furthermore, results also showed a strong relationship between the leadership of child-care center director and the child-care teachers' followership and empowerment, thus implying that the child-care teachers' followership is very important to increase the empowerment.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the influences of organizational culture and childcare teachers' job satisfaction on their intention to change jobs. The participants of this study were 290 childcare teachers from the Busan and Gyeongnam areas. The instruments used in this study were the Organizational Culture Scale (4 factors with 16 items), Childcare Teacher's Job Satisfaction Scale (6 factors with 40 items), and Childcare Teacher's Intention to Change Jobs Scale (1 factor with 7 items). The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson's product moment correlation, and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS ver. 21.0 software. The results were as follows: First, the higher childcare teachers' intention to change jobs, the lower was their monthly income, age, and career level, and the total number of children that they had to serve. Second, there were significant positive correlations between childcare teachers' intention to change jobs and their innovative, collective, and rational organizational culture. Further, there were significant negative correlations between childcare teachers' intention to change jobs and hierarchical organizational culture. and between childcare teachers' intention to change jobs and their job satisfaction. Finally, childcare teachers' intention to change jobs was found to be 46% about job satisfaction and organizational culture and was explained the most by the director's childcare center management. This study primarily suggests that a director's role is important in the lowering of childcare teacher's intention to change jobs.
