  • This paper presents an efficient method to estimate the maximum SSN (simultaneous switching noise) for ground interconnection networks in CMOS systems using Taylor's series and analyzes the truncation error that has occurred in Taylor's series approximation. We assume that the curve form of noise voltage on ground interconnection networks is linear and derive a polynomial expression to estimate the maximum value of SSN using $\alpha$-power MOS model. The maximum relative error due to the truncation is shown to be under 1.87% through simulations when we approximate the noise expression in the 3rd-order polynomial.

  • Taylor-Maccoll 유동관계식과 준 1차원 모델을 적용한 구성품 기반의 이중램제트 추진기관 모델 개발에 대해 기술하였다. 이중램제트 흡입구는 Taylor Maccoll 유동관계식을 적용하여 콘 각도 $25^{\circ}$ 형상을 갖는 흡입구에 대해 아음속 및 초음속 흡입구 모델을 구현하였으며 예 연소가스를 초음속 연소기로 전달하는 기능의 가스발생기는 Lumped 모델을 적용하여 모델을 구현하였고 요구되는 노즐목 크기에 대해 기술하였다. 초음속 연소기의 경우 준 1차원 모델을 적용하여 위치에 따른 마하수 변화, 온도변화 및 압력변화 등을 제시하였다. 또한 금번 모델을 이용하여 당량비 및 압력회복율을 고려한 연료량 조절모델에 따른 추력과 비추력을 계산하여 그 결과를 제시하였다.

Time-Discretization of Nonlinear Systems with Time Delayed Output via Taylor Series

  • An output time delay always exists in practical systems. Analysis of the delay phenomenon in a continuous-time domain is sophisticated. It is appropriate to obtain its corresponding discrete-time model for implementation via a digital computer. A new method for the discretization of nonlinear systems using Taylor series expansion and the zero-order hold assumption is proposed in this paper. This method is applied to the sampled-data representation of a nonlinear system with a constant output time-delay. In particular, the effect of the time-discretization method on key properties of nonlinear control systems, such as equilibrium properties and asymptotic stability, is examined. In addition, 'hybrid' discretization schemes resulting from a combination of the 'scaling and squaring' technique with the Taylor method are also proposed, especially under conditions of very low sampling rates. A performance of the proposed method is evaluated using two nonlinear systems with time-delay output.

  • A new concept of ammunition without the use of explosive gunpowder has been recently studied, which achieves performance equal to or higher than that of high explosives. Frangible Armor Piercing (FAP) is one of the concepts, which utilizes a tungsten alloy penetrator specialized for fragmentation. To investigate the fracture behavior of the tungsten alloy penetrator, Taylor impact tests were conducted at various impact velocities. Additionally, finite element analysis was performed to predict the fracture behavior of the tungsten alloy. Compression tests were also carried out at six strain rates for dynamic material properties and the dynamic hardening behavior was successfully predicted with the Lim-Huh model. Finally, the Mohr-Coulomb fracture model based on the mean stress was adopted to predict impact failure in Taylor impact simulation. The analysis predicts the deformation and fracture behaviors of the tungsten alloy successfully.

가중치를 고려한 슬라이딩 모드 제어기 설계 (Sliding Mode Controller Design Considering Weight)

  • 일반적인 슬라이딩 모드 제어기 동조 방법은 동조 피라미터의 수가 플랜트의 차수에 비례하기 때문에 고차의 프로세스에서는 어렵고, 실용적이지 못하다. Camacho(1996)은 고차의 프로세스를 시간 지연 항이 포함된 1차 프로세스로 모델링한 고정 구조 슬라이딩 모드 제어기 설계 방법을 제안하였다. 그러나 Camacho가 제안한 방법은 시간 지연 항을 1차 Taylor 급수로 근사화하는 과정에서 발생되는 근사 오차에 의해 오버슈트, 정착시간, 명령추종 등에 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이를 개선하기 위해 가중치를 고려한 새로운 형태의 Taylor 근사 기법과 이를 토대로 새로운 슬라이딩 모드 제어기 설계 방법을 제안하고자 한다.

스탠드간 간섭현상을 고려한 연속 냉간압연기의 선형모델 규명 (Identification of Linear Model for Tandem Cold Mill Considering Interstand Interference)

  • This study identified a linear time-invariant mathematical model of each stand of a five-stand tandem cold mill. Two model identification methods are applied to construct a linear model of each stand of the tandem cold mill. For the model identification the input-output data that have interstand interference property in tandem cold rolling are obtained from a nonlinear simulator of the tandem cold mill. And a linear model of each stand is identified with N4SD(numerical algorithms for subspace state space system identification) method based on a state-space model and Least Square algorithm based on a transfer function. Furthermore a modeling error of the tandem cold mill is quantitatively analyzed from a maximum singular value plot of error function between an identified nominal model and uncertain model. In conclusion the comparison of the output signals between the existing Taylor linearized model the identified linear model and the nonlinear model of the tandem cold mill shows the accuracy and the applicability of the proposed identified model.

  • This paper identifies a linear time-invariant mathematical model of each stand of a five-stand tandem cold mill to design a robust $H_\infty$ thickness controller by applying input and output data sets to N4SID (Numerical algorithms for Subspace State Space System Identification) method. The input-output data sets describe interstand interference in the process of tandem cold rolling and are obtained from a nonlinear simulator of the tandem cold mill. In result, it is shown that the identified model well approximates the nonlinear model than a Taylor linearized model. Furthermore, uncertainties including roll eccentricity and incoming strip variation are quantitatively analyzed from the plot of maximum singular values.

  • In many industrial applications, multiphase flow analysis is the norm rather than an exception as compared to more-conventional single-phase investigation. This paper describes the implementation of the multiphase flow simulation capability in the general purpose CFD software AVL FIRE/SWIFT. The governing equations are discretized based on a finite volume method (FVM) suitable fur very complex geometry, The pressure field is obtained using the SIMPLE algorithm. Depending on the characteristics of the multiphase flow to be examined, the user can choose either the two-fluid model or an explicit interface-tracking model based on the Volume-of-Fluid approach. For truly 'multi'-phase flow problems, it is also possible to apply a hybrid model where certain phases are explicitly tracked while the other phases are handled by the two fluid model. In order to demonstrate the capability of the method, applications to the Taylor bubble flow simulations are presented.

  • 1차원 개수로 부정류의 수치 해석을 위하여 Taylor-Galerkin 기법의 유한요소법을 St. Venant 방정식의 차분에 적용하였다. 단일 수로에서 수문의 닫힘에 의한 배수문제와 3개 이상 하도가 만나는 합류점을 포함하는 수지상(dendritic) 하천 네트워크에 적용하고 그 결과를 기존에 제시된 유한차분법, 유한요소법 등의 수치기법과 비교하였으며 매우 잘 일치함을 확인하였다. 본 연구에서 적용한 기법은 연속방정식과 운동량방정식을 순차적으로 해석해 나가기 때문에 적용이 간편하며, 최종적으로 삼대각 행렬과 합류점의 적합조건을 위한 최소한의 요소를 포함하기 때문에 삼대각 행렬의 연산 방법을 적용할 수 있어 계산 측면에서 빠르고 안정적이다. 또한, 행렬의 저장을 위한 메모리 측면에서 경제적이다.

HIGH-ORDER POTENTIAL FLOW MODELS FOR HYDRODYNAMIC UNSTABLE INTERFACE

  • We present two high-order potential flow models for the evolution of the interface in the Rayleigh-Taylor instability in two dimensions. One is the source-flow model and the other is the Layzer-type model which is based on an analytic potential. The late-time asymptotic solution of the source-flow model for arbitrary density jump is obtained. The asymptotic bubble curvature is found to be independent to the density jump of the fluids. We also give the time-evolution solutions of the two models by integrating equations numerically. We show that the two high-order models give more accurate solutions for the bubble evolution than their low-order models, but the solution of the source-flow model agrees much better with the numerical solution than the Layzer model.
