With the development of broadcasting technology from analogue to interactive digital, the number of TV channels and contents provided to audience is increasing in a rapid speed. In this multi-media and multi-channel world, it is difficult to adapt to the increase of TV channel numbers and their contents merely using remote controller to search channels. Due to this reason, EPG (Electronic Program Guide) has been one of the essential services providing convenience to audience. So EPG complying with European DVB-MHP specifications, which will be also our domestic standard, is proposed in this paper. In order to provide audiences with DiTV contents they preferred, we apply collaborative filtering algorithm to recommend contents according to preference value of audience group with similar preference. And we use JavaXlet application which is based on MHP to implement this EPG, while the result can be verified by OpenMHP emulator.

Due to the development of the digital technology, the digital broadcasting is changing to a multi-entertainment platform that can operate data (broadcasting) services (such as games, weather information, and stock trading services) as well as traditional broadcasting contents. Most of the data services, however, failed to get satisfactory results because of the inconvenience in operating the services using a TV remote controller and the failure of gaining the viewer's interests in the competition with the broadcasting contents. The paper introduces a survey on the viewer's modality of using a data service and, based on the survey result, proposes a design guideline that makes a data service minimally interrupt a viewer watching a broadcasting content.

최근 TV 디지털 방송에 대한 많은 관심이 집중되면서 국내의 디지털 텔레비전 방송(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting: DMB)과 유럽의 디지털 텔레비전 방송((Digital Video Broadcasting: DVB)에 대한 기술 개발이 지속적으로 이루어지고 있다. 국내의 DMB는 지상파 DMB와 위성 DMB가 있고, 유럽의 DVB는 일반 방송국으로부터 가정용 또는 사무실용의 고정된 장치에서 수신을 하는 DVB-T와, 휴대 전화기나 휴대용 영상기기 등의 저전력, 이동성, 휴대성을 고려한 DVB-H가 있다. 또한 휴대폰이나 PDA와 같은 휴대 통신단말기의 기능복합화 요구에 따라, 국내에서는 휴대폰에 TV 방송기능과 인터넷을 이용할 수 있는 네트워크 서비스가 내장된 단말기가 속속 출시되어 치열한 경쟁구도에 접어들고 있다. 이러한 시장요구에 부응하기 위해 다양한 분야에서 기능 복합화를 실현하고자 하는 " Ubiquitous Convergence화"가 급속도로 진행되고 있다. 그러나 단일 시스템에서 2가지 이상의 기능(GSM/GPRS & DVB-H)이 Convergence화 되어있을 경우, 시스템 상호간 간섭영향으로 각 장치의 기능 저하가 발생하고 있다. 특히, 동일 주파수대역 사용에 의해 방생하는 간섭영향에 대한 적절한 대응이 요구되는 시점이다. 본 고에서는 무선 통신 분야 기술개발의 한 부분으로 부품의 초소형화 및 동일 주파수대역 사용에 의해 발생하는 간섭영향을 제거하는 내용에 대해서 기술한다.

It is necessary to control the frame memory to capture, edit and display images. This paper presents the free-scale image capture processor size of which is user-defined, compared to the conventional image capture processor size of which is fixed 1/2, 1/4 and full size. User-defined scale data is fed into this system, which generates the gating pulses and gates the inputted image data. This system also controls the 4M DRAM instead of frame meamory. And stored gated image data are displayed on the TV monitor. We designed the scalable image capture parts and DRAM controller with ACTEL FPGAs, simulated the circuits with Viewlogic and fusing ACTEL A1020B chips. We confirmed the whole operation with beadboard which composed of "Philips TV Chipset" and designed FPGA chips.PGA chips.

Modem consumer electronic products like TV, VCR etc, offer users the convience of switching the equipment on and off via a remote control handset. When this type of equipments is switched off, it is said to be in standby mode. In this paper, We proposed that the method of the blocking standby power from in industrial product including electronic and electronic appliauces. This method is perfectly blocking the standby power of electrical circuit.

The development of fuzzy pan/tilt controller for remote handling in hostile environment is presented in this paper. In remote handling, control of the camera system is somewhat tedious and time consuming. Operators should do the two tasks of manipulating teleoperator and camera pan/tilt at the same time. By automating pan/tilt control, we expect operators could concentrate only on remote operation. When operators control camera pan/tilt they use simple linguistic rules such as "If the position of end effector on TV monitor is at the edge of the screen, control pan/tilt to display the end effector near the center of the screen." Such a rule is similar to fuzzy logic, so we used fuzzy logic controller to control camera pan/tilt. pan/tilt.

These days many DLNA home media network services start in home network area. DLNA networking softwares included in DLNA media devices contains all of server, renderer and controller functions. But a home media device in home media network environment not uses all of DLNA functions but uses only limited functions. Using all of integrated DLNA functions wastes networking and processing resources especially in home media network, because a home media device uses very limited functions. For example, a smart-TV has a main role of playback and a network attached storage has a main role of media content storage. In this paper, we analyze integrated DLNA networking softwares and design DLNA software models representing each home media device so as to utilize device resources efficiently. And we implement DLNA softwares for smart-TV and smart-phone and test resource efficiency.

Recently, building is rapidly develop more intelligently because of the development of industries. And people seek such as comfort, efficiency, and convenience in office environment and the living environment. Also, people were able to use a variety of devices. Smart TV and smart phones were distributed widely so interaction between devices and human has been increase the interest. A various method study for interaction but there are some discomfort and limitations using controller for interaction. In this paper, a user could be easily interaction and control LED through using Kinect and gesture(hand gestures) without controller. we designed interface which is control LED using the joint information of gesture obtained from Kinect. A user could be individually controlled LED through gestures (hand movements) using the implementation of the interface. We expected developed interface would be useful in LED control and various fields.

The previous study of Digital Broadcasting Recommendation system is based on user explicit profiling information. But user profile is always changing and the exact extraction of user profile is very important in recommendation system like Digital TV using many user interactions. This paper is studied of realtime user profiles aggregation through user remote controller input and matching this profiles with contents meta-data like contents genre information, event information, content viewing time. It is not used commercial database system and network communication solution considering embedded system hardware restriction. And it is considered people want different content genre based on watching time. From the results of this paper, there are improvement of user satisfaction of contents recommendation.

So far the study of digital home has mainly been made up of the network technology and the sorority system, but the application to consider the discriminatory characteristics of the individual family members has been interested in comparison with the necessity. The system proposed in this study is to get the information of the internal users through the access-controlling system. The controller offers the discriminatory environment by activating the database of the internal users and controls the sub-system of the home-network. The suggested system can automatically offer the discriminatory environment among the family members by limiting TV programs or channels according to the users' age, by offering other internet environment according to the users, by putting restrictions on telephone numbers, or by restricting the settling right of the home-shopping companies.
