Laser Welding Characteristics of Aluminum and Copper Sheets for Lithium-ion Batteries (자동차 이차전지 제조를 위한 알루미늄과 무산소동의 레이저 용접특성)

  • Several joining methods involving resistance welding, laser welding, ultrasonic welding and mechanical joining are currently applied in manufacturing lithium-ion batteries. Cu and Al alloys are used for tab and bus bar materials, and laser welding characteristics for these alloys were investigated with similar and dissimilar material combinations in this study. The base materials used were Al 1050 and oxygen-free Cu 1020P alloys, and a disk laser was used with a continuous wave mode. In bead-on-plate welding of both alloys, the joint strength was higher than the strength of O tempered base material. In overlap welding, the effect of welding parameters on the tensile shear strength and bead shape was evaluated. Tensile shear strength of overlap welded joint was affected by interfacial bead width and weld defect formation. The tensile-shear specimen was fractured at the heat affected zone by selecting proper laser welding parameters.

Intestinal protozoan infections and echinococcosis in the inhabitants of Dornod and Selenge, Mongolia (2003)

  • The status of intestinal parasitic infections and seroprevalence of cystic echinococcosis in the inhabitants In Dornod and Selenge, Mongolia, was observed with stool and serum samples from 165 and 683 residents from August 9 to August 15, 2003. A total of 10 inhabitants (6.1%) were found to be infected with protozoan cysts or oocysts by stool examinations; 7, 1 and 2 cases with Entamoeba coli, Giardia lamblia and Cryptosporidium parvum, respectively. A total of 62 people (9.1 %) revealed significantly high levels of specific antibodies against Echinococcus granulosus by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The surveyed areas are rural areas and the sanitized tab water is not available. There is a possibility of endemic transmission of water-borne protozoan diseases in these areas. The clinical echinococcosis is needed to be searched from the seropositive inhabitants.

  • 기타를 처음 접할 때 겪는 어려움은 크게 운지법과 곡에 대한 이해다. 연주자마다 곡의 연주 방법이 상이하기 때문에 한 곡에 대해서도 다양한 타브 악보가 존재한다. 이 논문은 타브 악보를 인식하여 연주를 수행하는 휴대 가능한 시스템 설계를 제안한다. 기 연구된 악보 인식은 5선 기반의 악보를 대상으로 하였으며 수평 히스토그램을 사용하여 5선을 제거 한 뒤 나타나는 기호들을 인식했다. 본 논문에서는 6선인 타브 악보 인식 및 연주 시스템을 휴대 기기에서도 사용 가능하게 설계하여 많은 연산 양이 요구되는 선 제거 과정을 거치지 않는다. 템플릿 매칭 기법으로 전체 악보에서 타브 악보의 영역을 탐색하고, 탐지된 영역 안에서 선의 시작점을 탐색한다. 선의 시작부터 끝까지 가상 블록을 사용하여 선에 존재하는 공백을 탐지하고, 공백의 분할을 이용해 프렛을 분할하며, 프렛 인식은 프로토타입 기반 분류기를 이용하여 97.0%의 인식률을 보였다.

Surface Tentiometric Studies on the Interaction of Anionic Polyelectrolytes with Cationic Surfactants

  • The interaction of cationic surfactants, n-alkyltrimethylammonium bromide ($C_nTAB$; n = 12, 14, 16) with anionic polyelectrolyte, poly(styrenesulfonate) (PSS) has been studied by surface tension measurement. In the absence of added salt, the cationic surfactants bind to PSS quantitatively up to ca. 60% coverage of anionic sites of the polyanion and the complexes were surface inactive. Further binding of the surfactant cations on PSS caused a sharp conformational transition of the surfactant/ PSS complexes to surface active complexes and accompanied precipitation. The binding showed a biphasic behavior in the presence of NaCl and cooperativity of the binding became less as the concentration of NaCl increased. Binding of the cationic surfactants on poly(vinylsulfonate) also showed the biphasic behavior and the cooperativity of the binding was much less even in the absence of NaCl. The binding of surfactant to PSS provided hydrophobic environment to solubilized pyrene and reduced the viscosity of the solution greatly even at surfactant concentrations well below cmc. This study indicated that the surfactant bound to PSS up to $60{\%}$ coverage of PSS sites are present as surfactant aggregates which are wrapped up with PSS chains, and hydrophobic interaction is an important factor in the binding of the surfactants to PSS.

Optimization of Distribution Basin Weirs at a Sewage Treatment Plant Based on Computational Fluid Analysis Using the Taguchi and Minitab Method (전산유체해석과 다구찌 및 미니탭 방법을 활용한 하수처리장 분배조 웨어 최적화)

  • The role of the distribution basin role is to apportion incoming raw water to the primary sedimentation basin as part of the water treatment process. The purpose of this study was to calculate the amount of water in the distribution basin using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis and to find a way to improve any non-uniformity. We used the Taguchi method and the minitab tool as optimization methods. The results of the CFD calculation showed that the distribution flow had a deviation of 5% at the minimum inflow, 10% at the average inflow, and 22% at the maximum inflow. At maximum flow, the appropriate heights of the 7 weirs(C, D, A, B, E, F, G) were 40 mm, 20 mm, 20 mm, 0, 0, 0, and 20 mm, respectively, according to the Taguchi optimization tool. Here, the maximum deviation of the distribution amount was 9% and the standard deviation was 23.7. The appropriate heights of the 7 weirs, according to the Minitab tool, were 40 mm, 20 mm, 20 mm, 0, 0, 0, and 20 mm, respectively, for weirs C, D, A, B, E, F, and G. Therefore, the maximum deviation of the distribution amount was 8% and the standard deviation was 17.1, which was slightly improved compared to the Taguchi method.

  • In-hospital cardiac arrest is a significant problem for medical systems. Although the traditional early warning systems have been widely applied, they still contain many drawbacks, such as the high false warning rate and low sensitivity. This paper proposed a strategy that involves a deep learning approach based on a novel interpretable deep tabular data learning architecture, named TabNet, for the Rapid Response System. This study has been processed and validated on a dataset collected from two hospitals of Chonnam National University, Korea, in over 10 years. The learning metrics used for the experiment are the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve score (AUROC) and the area under the precision-recall curve score (AUPRC). The experiment on a large real-time dataset shows that our method improves compared to other machine learning-based approaches.

  • I need to study variations which affect Chinese internet shopping-mall vendor and Chinese buyer's long term relationship and utilize that insight on marketing strategy. For that, I studied effect of shopping propensity, internet shipping-mall quality on satisfaction, trust, commitment and purchase intention of fashion products, mainly fashion goods consumers in their 20s-30s at Shanghai and Beijing. 453 respondents' survey was used for this study by random sample selection and analyzed through frequency analysis, factor analysis, regression analysis, cross-tab, ANOVA test with SPSS12.0. Through this study, I found out that Chinese fashion goods consumer can be categorized as information seeker, variety seeker and innovation seeker. Among them, innovation seeker was most sensitive on shopping mall's quality, satisfaction, trust, commitment and purchase intention and Chinese consumer's evaluation on internet shopping-mall' perceived quality affect satisfaction, absorption, trust and fashion goods purchase intention. Based on that, I need to understand more about target consumer before enter the market, because there is difference of shopping-mall quality, satisfaction, trust, absorption and purchase intention according to shopper's propensity and demographic factors.

Implementation of Multiplatform Game Application for Decorating The Lab (다중 플랫폼용 실습실 꾸미기 게임 앱 구현)

  • Many people are now enjoying mobile games using various smartphone platforms. However, we have to develop games separately for each smart device platforms so far. Cocos2d-x, a game development framework is released to solve this problem. As a multiplatform version of the existing Cocos2d, Cocos2d-x can make one source code run on various platforms. It is an open software that is able to be used by everyone, and when using it, mobile games can be developed easily based on C++ and OpenGL. In this paper, we implemented a PC laboratory decorating game application, named ILove501, using Cocos2d-x. The 501 is a room number of our PC lab. ILove501 includes an educational feature of solving quizzes in order to highlight positive effects of game. For implementation of a multiplatform game, ILove501 was developed in Windows and iOS environment at the same time, and we verified the results of the execution by porting on a variety of devices such as Android, iPhone, iPad and Galaxy Tab.

  • Recently, the concept of PES(Personal Environment Service) is being widely discussed on various standardization organizations such as ITU-R, ETSI, 3GPP, TTA and etc. The purpose of PES is to introduce the services which can dynamically, automatically and intelligently reconfigures the electronic, electrical, and mechanical equipment surrounding the user according to the user preferences included in a user's profile by using a smartphone embedding WPAN radio technologies such as bluetooth and WiFi. This research introduces an Android Platform-based PES system which consists of a PES app, PES devices and a PES server. A smartphone platform is Android 2.2(Froyo) version and 4 simulated PES devices were implemented by using Galaxy Tab. It has shown that the PES would be a killer application of M2M(Machine-to-Machine) or D2D(Device-to-Device) in the future and it would need to study how to update a user's profile based on analyzing user's behaviour for enhancing the PES user's satisfaction.

A study on actual use, design preference, and purchasing behaviors of bedding of married women in their 30s~60s (30대~60대 기혼 여성의 연령집단별 침구류 사용실태, 디자인 선호도 및 구매행동에 대한 연구)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate actual use, design preference, and purchasing behaviors of bedding among married women in their 30s to 60s, and to determine the differences by age groups on these variables. The subjects were 623 married women and the research method was survey. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, cross tab analysis, multiple response analysis, ANOVA, and Duncan's multiple range test, using SPSS program. The results were as follows. First, on the actual use of bedding, the possession quantity of the bed cover and mattress was 2~4 while bedclothes and pillow was 7~8. The period of use of bedding was about 2~4 years and the frequency of washing was about 2~3 times a month. Second, married women generally preferred white and pastel tones, floral patterns, cotton fabrics, and a clean and comfortable image on bedding designs. Third, on the purchasing behaviors of bedding, married women considered functional damage and health & sanitary aspects as important purchase purposes. The most important selection criterion was fabric. Price, tactility, functionality, and manageability were also important criteria. Married women generally used the internet and store displays as important information sources, and considered bedding specialty stores as important purchase places. They generally spent about 200,000~300,000 won a year to purchase bedding. Fourth, the actual use, design preference, and purchasing behaviors of bedding showed many differences by age group. Therefore, it is needed to establish product development and marketing strategy of bedding, considering customers'age variable.
