Purpose - The purpose of this study is to explore the impacts of Korean executives' trust on a firm's corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities and corporate financial performance (CFP), which depends on their individual social responsibility (ISR). Design/methodology/approach - A survey was conducted, and 273 Korean executives were recruited. I used SPSS version 25.0, AMOS version 26.0, SmartPLS version 3.2., and PROCESS Macro 3.4. to analyze the moderated mediation model. And, the Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) was employed to confirm the proposed relationships in the model. Findings - The results show that Korean executives' trust is positively related to CSR. I also found that Korean executives' trust is positively related to CFP. Moreover, I found that there is a mediating effect of a firm's CSR activities on the trust-CFP relationship. However, I didn't find conditional indirect and direct effects on the relationships among the proposed constructs. The findings overall suggest that Korean executives' trust is such an important mechanism that will affect firm-level CSR and CFP. Research implications or Originality - Although prior studies reveal that executives' trust in their subordinates positively influences cooperation, creativity, and innovation among subordinates in a team, it is still unclear whether executives' trust in their employees or strangers impacts firm-level CSR and CFP. Moreover, not many studies examined the mediating effect of CSR on executives' trust and CFP especially in the Korean context. Therefore, this study intends to fill the knowledge gap by focusing on South Korea. This study also contributes to extant CSR and trust literature, and practically contributes to executives, policy makers, and practitioners in South Korea.
Objectives: Driven by a growth of single-person households and individualized lifestyles, solo dining in restaurants is an increasingly recognizable trend. However, a research gap exists in the comparison of solo and group diners' menu-decision making processes. Based on the self-control dilemma and the temporal construal theory as a theoretical framework, this study compared the ordering intentions of solo vs. group diners with healthy vs. indulgent (less healthy) entrées. The mediating role of consumption orientation and the moderating role of amount of menu nutrition information were further explored to understand the mechanism and a boundary condition. Methods: A scenario-based online survey was developed using a 2 (dining social context: solo vs. with others) × 3 (amount of menu nutrition information: no nutrition information vs. calories vs. calories/fat/sodium), between-subjects, experimental design. Consumers' level of nutrition involvement was controlled. A nationwide survey data (n = 224) were collected from a crowdsourcing platform in the U.S. Data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of covariance, independent t-test, univariate analysis of covariance, and moderated mediation analyses. Results: Findings reveal that solo (vs. group) diners have less (vs. more) intentions to order indulgent menu items due to a more utilitarian (vs. more hedonic) consumption orientation in restaurant dining. Findings also show that solo (vs. group) diners have more (vs. less) intentions to order healthy menu items when the restaurant menu presented nutrition information including calories, fat, and sodium. Conclusions: The findings contribute to the literature of foodservice management, healthy eating, and consumer behavior by revealing a mechanism and an external stimuli of solo vs. group diners' healthy menu-decision making process in restaurants. Furthermore, the findings provide restauranteurs and health professionals with insights into the positive and negative impacts of menu nutrition labelling on consumers' menu-decisions.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors that can affect transition shock in newly-graduated nurses. Methods: The first descriptive written survey was conducted on 450 graduate students from five nursing colleges. After their employment, the second survey was conducted on 316 participants who had responded to the first survey. A total of 158 respondents were used for the final analysis. Data were analyzed using an independent t-test, ANOVA, Tukey test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis with the SPSS Win 25.0 Program. Results: The average age of the participants was 24.25±4.47. Of the participants, 126 (79.8%) were satisfied that they had majored in nursing. The average score for transition shock was 2.61±0.55 points. Factors influencing the transition shock of newly-graduated nurses were the working department, working period, and working environment. The more positively the newly-graduated nurses perceived the nursing work environment, the less of a transition shock they experienced. Grade point average, clinical competence, confidence in performing core nursing skills, and nursing professionalism did not affect their transition shock. It could be confirmed that there is a gap between college nursing education and the clinical field. Conclusion: In order to reduce the transition shock of newly-graduated nurses, it is necessary to improve the nursing work environment and apply educational and emotional support strategies according to the characteristics of each work department and the period of work.
Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the performance and need of professional nursing care among nurses in a neurosurgery department at a tertiary hospital. Methods: This study used a descriptive design using a questionnaire with 77-item. The participants were 58 nurses with more than 3 years of clinical experience in both the neurosurgery intensive care unit and ward at a tertiary hospital in Gangwon province. Data collection was conducted from January to February of 2021. The performance and need for each workforce were analyzed with the mean and standard deviation, and the effectiveness of the difference between the performance and the need were analyzed with a paired t-test using SAS 9.4. Results: The recognition for work performance level was in order of direct nursing activities (3.20±.54), consultation and coordination (3.18±1.15), education (2.55±.85), administration (1.92±.86), and research (1.57±.89). The recognition for need level was in order of consultation and coordination (3.95±.83), education (3.91±.87), direct nursing practice (3.83±.55), research (3.49±.87), and administration (3.45±.54). The results showed a statistically significant differences between work performance and need (p<.001). Conclusion: It is required to hire professional nursing personnel who can bridge the gap between the performance and need of professional nursing workforce in a neurosurgery department at a tertiary hospital. A professional nurse may be a good alternative.
Purpose: Little information has been published regarding minor burn injuries in infants, most of which are preventable. To fill this research gap, this study explored the patterns and mechanisms of burn injuries in infants to ascertain whether such incidents can be prevented. Methods: This was a retrospective study, based on data collected prospectively from all infants (<12 months old) admitted to our hospital with burns in the four-year period between January 1, 2015 and December 31, 2018. A medical record review provided basic demographic information, such as age at the time of injury, sex, cause of injury, duration of treatment, operative treatment, and the extent and type of burn, as well as the anatomical region involved. Results: Fifty-seven infants were diagnosed with burn injuries, with scalding being the most common type (47%), followed by contact (32%) and steam (14%). Seven infants of eight steam burn patients injured by pressure cooker. Superficial second degree was the most common depth of injury (72%) followed by first degree (17%) and deep second degree (8%). Average age per injury type was calculated by independent T-test. Average ages of patients with contact and steam burns were significantly lower (7.06 months; P=0.19) and higher (9.25 months; P=0.005), respectively, than for other burn types. Conclusion: Given that infants cannot control their body movements, talk, or manage by themselves, they are entirely dependent on the proper care of adults. Consequently, in addition to the prevention of burns, special care should be taken for the pressure cooker.
Objectives: This study evaluated and compared the effects of radiation therapy on the dislocation resistance of AH Plus and BioRoot RCS applied to dentin and the sealer-dentin interface. Materials and Methods: Thirty single-rooted teeth were randomly assigned to 2 groups (n = 15 each): AH Plus (Dentsply DeTrey) and BioRoot RCS (Septodont). Each group was subdivided into control and experimental groups. The experimental group was subjected to a total radiation dose of 60 Gy. The root canals of all samples were cleaned, shaped, and obturated using the single-cone technique. Dentin slices (1 mm) were sectioned from each root third for the push-out test and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was done to examine the sealer-dentin interface. The failure mode was determined using stereomicroscopy. Bond strength data were analyzed by the independent t-test, 1-way analysis of variance, and the Tukey post hoc test (α = 0.05). Results: Significantly lower bond strength was observed in irradiated teeth than non-irradiated teeth in the AH Plus group (p < 0.05). The BioRoot RCS group showed no significant reduction in bond strength after irradiation (p > 0.05) and showed a higher post-irradiation bond strength (209.92 ± 172.26 MPa) than the AH Plus group. SEM revealed slightly larger gap-containing regions in irradiated specimens from both groups. Conclusions: The dislocation resistance of BioRoot RCS was not significantly changed by irradiation and was higher than that of AH Plus. BioRoot RCS may be the sealer of choice for root canal treatment in patients undergoing radiation therapy.
This study is to investigate the long run convergence behavior of the housing rent of Korean 21 cities, by using the Phillips and Sul (2007)'s newly developed panel convergence test method. The empirical result shows that the 21 Korean cities nationwide converge in four different groups according to the level of convergence. The 1st group is composed of 3 Seoul metropolitan cities, the 2nd group is composed of Bucheon, the 3rd group is composed of 10 cities such as Busan, Daegu, etc, and the 4th group is composed of 7 cities including Jeonju and Mokpo etc. About the speed of convergence among the member cities within the group, the 1st group has the highest speed and next the 4th group, followed by the 2nd group, and finally the 3rd group. The fact that the member cities of the 1st group with the highest rent level and the 4th group with the lowest rent level converges rapidly means the polarization of rent between the two groups. Finally, this paper suggests policy implications to relax the widening gap of individual income between the higher and the lower rent convergent groups.

The aim of this study analyzed changes in dietary habits and lifestyles before and after COVID-19 targeting adolescents, using the food consumption behavior survey (2019 vs 2021). In the change in health-related factors, height decreased overall, and a significant difference was especially evident in males. Awareness that functional foods and eco-friendly foods contribute to health has increased. Among the results of dietary behavior, the frequency of skipping breakfast showed that the rate of not skipping breakfast and the rate of skipping breakfast more than 5 times increased at the same time(p=0.019). The rate of eating out decreased significantly after COVID-19, and it was analyzed that schools and school cafeteria, as well as Street carts or restaurants and academy, all increased significantly as places where snacks were not consumed. In order to analyze changes in food-related lifestyle, it was grouped into convenience-seeking, quality/safety-seeking, taste-seeking, and health/safety-seeking. 'Small packaged or pre-processed products' decreased. On the other hand, items such as 'Safety rather than price when choosing food' and 'Don't eat food that could go bad' improved. 'Tend to eat regularly' was higher than 2021 compared to 2019. Also 'Tend to purchase HACCP and GAP-certified products' are increased. Because of COVID-19 changes in lifestyle have affected the diet of adolescents. The results of this study suggest that it can be used as a guideline establishment and nutrition counseling material for the formation of correct eating habits for adolescents in the future pandemic era.
Purpose: Globally, 25 million children were either unvaccinated or under-vaccinated in year 2021. Among them, India had the highest number of children unvaccinated. Studies have shown impact of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on routine health-care services. Present study aimed to estimate the impact of COVID-19 on utilization of routine immunization services during years 2020 and 2021 in tertiary-care facility. Materials and Methods: Record based descriptive analytic study was conducted at pediatric tertiary-care hospital, Jaipur. Data of children vaccinated as per the National Immunization Schedule for the period January 2019 to December 2021 were retrieved from the immunization records. Doses administered were assessed as a proxy measure of vaccine coverage. The vaccination trends of 2020 and 2021 were compared assuming base year 2019. Unpaired t-test of significance and Pearson correlation was used for correlation analysis. Results: There was significant drop in the vaccine counts after emergence of COVID-19 pandemic. In year 2020 and 2021, mean monthly vaccine count was 2,190±715.1 and 2,305±393.2, respectively, in which maximum drop was in April 2020 (-79.12%) and May 2021 (-57.16%) when it was compared with matched month of base year. There was negative correlation between percent change in vaccine count and COVID-19 cases in 2020 (r=-0.057, p=0.861) and 2021 (r=-0.827, p=0.001) as compared to year 2019. Conclusion: Study concludes that there was a significant gap in utilization of routine immunization services during the COVID-19 pandemic. This necessitates planning and management of routine immunization services in-case of future pandemics to avoid resurgence of vaccine-preventable diseases in the Rajasthan.

In this study, rare-earth orthoferrites LnFeO3 were synthesized using a facile hydrothermal reaction and their visible-light-induced photo-Fenton degradation of organics was optimized through Ln variation (Ln = La, Pr, or Gd). The morphological, structural, and chemical characteristics of as-prepared samples were examined in detail by using different methods, including XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS, etc. On the other side, under visible light illumination, the photo-Fenton-like catalytic activities of LnFeO3 were assessed in terms of the removal of selected organic models, i.e., pharmaceuticals (ketoprofen and tetracycline) and dyes (rhodamine B and methyl orange). As compared with PrFeO3 or GdFeO3, the sample of LaFeO3 displayed more structural distortion, larger specific surface area, and narrower band gap, resulting in its higher photo-Fenton-like catalytic activity toward the degradation of organics. In organic-containing solution, in which the initial solution pH = 5, catalyst dosage = 1 g/L and H2O2 concentration = 10 mM, 98.2% of rhodamine B, 31.1% of methyl orange, 67.7% of ketoprofen, or 96.4% of tetracycline was removed after 90-min exposure to simulated visible light. Our findings revealed that variation of Ln site on rare-earth orthoferrites was an effective strategy for optimizing their organic removal via visible-light-induced photo-Fenton reaction.
