A Study on the Critical Thinking Disposition about Student Nurse (간호대학 학생의 비판적 사고성향에 관한 조사연구)

  • Purpose: This descriptive - comparison study was conducted to investigate the critical thinking disposition of senior nursing students in three types of nursing program. Method: The convenience sample was drawn from 472 nursing students. Instruments used in this study were made California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory developed by Facione & Facione (1994). Data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test with SAS 6.12 program. Result: 1. The total mean score of critical thinking disposition was 279.06. Inquisitiveness was the highest with an mean score 45.50, while systematicity was the lowest with mean score of 36.15. There was a statistically significant difference in critical thinking disposition(F=14.36, p=.00)according to senior nursing students in three types of nursing programs. 2. There was a statistically significant difference in critical thinking disposition(F=5.53, p=.00) according to age, marital status(t=-3.15, p=.00), religion(F=3.26, p=.02) and critical thinking course taken previously(t=3.10, p=.00). Conclusion: There was a statistically significant difference in critical thinking disposition(F=14.36, p=.00) according to senior nursing students in three types of nursing program. There was a statistically significant difference in Critical thinking disposition according to age, marital status, religion, logic, philosophy, critical thinking course.

The Relationship between Critical Thinking Disposition and Basic Nursing Science (비판적 사고 성향과 기초간호과학 간의 관계)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study to investigate the Critical Thinking disposition in Nursing College students and related to ability of basic nursing science. Methods : Data were collected from 36 students who were students belong to one of province University. The instrument used in this study was California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory(CCTDI) by Facione & Facione. The instrument was composed of 7 sub-items, truth-seeking, analyticity, systematicity, open-mindness, critical thinking, self-confidence, inquisitiveness, and maturity. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson Correlations with SPSS 12.0. Results : The result of this study were as follow; The average of total score in critical thinking disposition was 44.8, which means middle level(below 40: low, above 50: high level). Maturity was the highest while open-mindness was the lowest with an average score 5.01. There was significant difference between critical thinking and basic nursing science grade while there was no difference between age, gender, and religion. There was strongly relation between critical thinking disposition and basic nursing science(F=2.84, p=.01). Conclusion : According to the results of this study, nursing curriculum should be considered critical thinking disposition.

The influence of internet-use Anatomy class on critical thinking disposition - Flipped learning method applying-

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of internet-use Anatomy class, as one of the Flipped learning method, on critical thinking disposition. The class for this study was conducted from March 1 to April 10, 2018. The study involved a total of 180 people in the first year of a University located in C province. Data collection was carried out before and after the Flipped learning method application. Frequency analysis, Paired t-test, Pearson correlation, and Regression analysis were used for the analysis. According to the analysis, 28.3% of men and 71.1% of women and before applying the program analysis of correlation between Flipped learning perception and critical thinking disposition showed a significant correlation between confidence(sub-component of critical thinking) only (p<.005). Comparing the scores of critical thinking before and after the program, it was found that Truth seeking (p<.001), Open-mindness (p<.005), Confidence (p<.001), Systematicity (p<.005), Analyticity (p<.001), and Inquisitiveness (p<.001) scores had increased significantly except Maturity (p>.005). And the regression analysis of Flipped learning method applying influence on critical thinking disposition were significantly affected (p<.001). Based on the results of this study, it was possible to determine that Flipped learning method had a positive effect on critical thinking disposition.

Change of Critical Thinking Disposition by Applying Learning Portfolio Completion

  • This study was a similar experimental study that analyzed the effect by applying the learning portfolio completion. The study period lasted from October 1, 2019 to November 20, 2019. A total of 47 people participated in the study, and the effectiveness of the program was analyzed with the SPSS 18.0 program for critical thinking disposition. The statistical analysis method was frequency analysis and paired t-test. As a result of the analysis, the critical thinking disposition increased significantly in the application of the learning portfolio completion (Truth-seeking MD= -0.05, p <0.01), Open-mindness MD= 0.11, p <0.001), Analyticity MD= 0.76, p <0.001), Systematicity MD= -.25, p <0.001), Self-confidence MD=-0.54, p <0.001), Inquisitiveness MD=0.29, p <0.001), Maturity MD=-.0.33, p <0.001). In conclusion, the teaching method applied with the learning portfolio completion actually helped nursing students learn nursing students learn based on critical thinking. Based on these result, further research using learning portfolio is to be done and more systematic and practical application of learning portfolio completion to nursing students. This study would be used as a basic data for the study guideline development for learners.

A Study on the Difficulties of Pre-service Mathematics Teachers in the Discrete Mathematics Learning (예비 수학교사들이 이산수학 학습에서 겪는 어려움 분석)

  • This study aims to improve teacher education by analyzing the causes and backgrounds of which pre-service mathematics teachers experience learning difficulties on the topic of discrete mathematics. To this end, we conducted a questionnaire and an evaluation on the topic of discrete mathematics, and the obtained data were analyzed. The results show that (1) pre-service mathematics teachers need to share their perceptions of the need for discrete mathematics education; (2) a review of the adequacy of the discrete mathematical content and its credits are required; (3) the causes of their learning difficulties need to be looked at from a different perspective than the learning factors. And two implications were obtained. First, it is necessary to study the systematicity and sequence of content elements of discrete mathematics in the aspect of its continuity of curriculum of secondary school and university. Second, it is required consideration for adjusting the ratio of discrete mathematics to secondary teachers' employment examination.

An Analysis of Analogies in the Chemistry Domain of Middle School Science Textbooks Developed under the 2007 Revised National Curriculum (2007 개정 중학교 과학 교과서의 화학 영역에 사용된 비유의 분석)

  • In this study, the analogies in the chemistry domain of middle school science textbooks developed under the 2007 revised National Curriculum were analyzed. A total of 235 analogies were found in 27 middle school science textbooks analysed, which means that one analogy per 10 pages was used on average. The number of analogies found in each textbook considerably varied depending on both publishing company and chemistry domain. Functional analogies, verbal and pictorial analogies, analogies with abstract target and concrete analog, enriched analogies, everyday contexts analogies, student-centered analogies, and analogies with low systematicity were frequently used. On presenting the analogies in the textbooks, the term analogy and description about the limitations of the analogies were rarely mentioned. In comparison with the analogies in the science textbooks developed under the 7th National Curriculum, the frequency of analogies per page was increased. There were positive changes in the aspects of representation, extent of mapping and artificiality. No differences, however, were found in the patterns of the other aspects.

Methods of environmental education linking Oriental Stork and school wetland biotope (황새와 학교 습지 비오톱을 연계한 환경교육 방안)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the environmental educational relevance of Oriental Storks and school wetland biotope, and to explore environmental education methods using them. Through the study of literature, the history encompassing the extinction and restoration of resident Oriental Storks and the utilization of school wetland biotope, were considered, and the meaning and connection of environmental education were derived. Based on this, planned an environmental education program for all elementary school students. The program consisted of a total of 17 steps reflecting the core elements of environmental education. The specific learning material of an Oriental Stork and the specific place of a wetland biotope as a school facility were linked to provide experience and practice. In conclusion, environmental education for coexistence with nature can be promoted, and the specificity and systematicity of contents can be secured.

Exploring the Independent Application of Elementary Information Education through Analysis of Digital Literacy in Elementary School Textbooks (초등 교과서의 디지털 리터러시 현황 분석을 통한 초등 정보 교과 독립 적용 탐구)

  • With the development of technology, the concept of digital literacy is expanding from the focus of function and tool utilization to the extent of communication and participation in social and cultural contexts. In particular, learners' digital literacy capabilities are more important and necessary in remote learning environments such as Corona19. In this study, we studied how to improve digital literacy education through analysis and inspection of digital literacy shown in elementary school textbooks. To this end, we analyze it through compliance consisting of 8 fundamental pieces of knowledge, 20 sub technical skills, and 10 keys of competencies that constitute digital literacy. As a result of the study, the contents of digital literacy education in elementary school textbooks were presented centered on functions and tools, and as they were biased in certain areas, they were found to be lacking in systematicity and connectivity. Therefore, it proposed the composition of the curriculum system of digital literacy through the independence of elementary informatics curriculum, the specific composition of curriculum, and the strengthening of pre-service teachers' practical skills.

Experimental Study on Long-Term Prediction of Rebar Price Using Deep Learning Recursive Prediction Meothod (딥러닝의 반복적 예측방법을 활용한 철근 가격 장기예측에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • This study proposes a 5-month rebar price prediction method using the recursive prediction method of deep learning. This approach predicts a long-term point in time by repeating the process of predicting all the characteristics of the input data and adding them to the original data and predicting the next point in time. The predicted average accuracy of the rebar prices for one to five months is approximately 97.24% in the manner presented in this study. Through the proposed method, it is expected that more accurate cost planning will be possible than the existing method by supplementing the systematicity of the price estimation method through human experience and judgment. In addition, it is expected that the method presented in this study can be utilized in studies that predict long-term prices using time series data including building materials other than rebar.

Effect of the Component of Professionalism and Critical Thinking Disposition on Job Competency

  • This study examined the effects of professionalism and critical thinking disposition on job competency in nursing service workers. Furthermore, we explored the interactive impact of critical thinking disposition in terms of component factors in the relationship between the influence of professionalism on job performance. Our research results were as follows. First, we found that the self-concept of the profession and originality of the job in the professional view has a significant effect on job performance. Second, we discovered that systematicity and objectivity in the critical thinking disposition significantly affect job performance. Third, we found an interaction effect between each component of professionalism and critical thinking disposition. This study is significant because it is approached from the perspective of components of professionalism and the critical thinking disposition to improve job performance. In addition, the results of this study will contribute to the management of professionalism and essential dispositions of thinking to enhance nursing service workers' job performance.
