This study examines the relationship between multiple sales force management practices and performance within each of Miles & Snow (1978)'s strategy types and Walker & Ruekert (1987)'s strategy types. The findings are as follows : First, Prospectors seem to be associated with increased performance when they are utilizing a relationship selling strategy, internal sales force, moderate levels of supervision, outcome-based control system and incentive-oriented compensation system. Second, Analyzers seem to be associated with increased performance when they are utilizing a relationship selling strategy, internal sales force, outcome-based control system to deal with the instability in their strategic focus. Third, Low Cost Defender seem to be associated with increased performance when they are utilizing a relationship selling strategy, external sales force, low levels of supervision, outcome-based control system and salary-oriented compensation system. Fourth, Differentiated Defenders seem to be associated with increased performance when they are utilizing a relationship selling strategy, high levels of supervision, balanced (outcome+behavior) control system and salary-oriented compensation system.
We have needs to develop a performance analysis system that can be used in domestic nuclear power plants to determine performance status of turbine cycle. We developed new NOPAS system to aid performance analysis of turbine cycle . Procedures of performance calculation are improved using several adaptations from standard calculation algorithms based on ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) PTC (Performance Test Code). Robustness in the performance analysis is increased by verification & validation scheme for measured input data. The system also provides useful aids for performance analysis such as graphic heat balance of turbine cycle and components, turbine expansion lines, automatic generation of analysis reports.
In order to accomplish the successful performance management of the national research and development programs, it is necessary to establish the legal system that provide a institutional foundation and to set up and practice the relative substantial operating system. This paper aims to study the problems and improvement measures of the Performance Management System in National R&D Programs. For this purpose, the development of legal system on the performance management in national R&D programs was surveyed, the problems in existing laws and ordinances on the performance management were analyzed, and lastly the improvement measures on the legal system of the performance management were suggested. The legal system of performance management is being composed of and managed with The Framework Act On Science And Technology that prescribed the national science and technology policy direction, and Act On The Performance Evaluation And Management Of National Research And Development Projects, Etc. that prescribed the basic policies of performance management process and methods, and Regulations On The Management, Etc. Of The National Research And Development Projects that prescribed the concrete methodologies on performance management. Results of the study, it is necessary that the performance management laws and ordinances need improvement of Compatibility, the object and range of performance management system extend more widely to the whole field of national R&D programs in principle, and the performance management process and methods improve reasonably considering the goal and direction of national R&D policy.
This paper presents the knowledge and experience we obtained by employing multiprocessor systems as a computer simulation design verification to study high-performance computing system. This paper also describes a case study of symmetric multiprocessors (SMP) kernel on a 32 CPUs CC-NUMA architecture using an actual architecture. A small group of CPUs of CC-NUMA, high-performance computer system, is clustered into a processing node or cluster. By simulating the system design verification tools; we discussed SMP OS kernel on a CC-NUMA multiprocessor architecture performance which is $32\%$ of the total execution time and remote memory access latency is occupied $43\%$ of the OS time. In this paper, we demonstrated our simulation results for multiprocessor, high-performance computing system performance, using simulation-based design verification.
Performance measurement and analysis for computer systems has been studied for a long time. However, little attention has been focused on how to distribute a given budget to each part of a computer system for enhancing system performance maximally. In traditional approaches, performance enhancement is achieved by identifying a dominant system bottleneck and enhancing the bottleneck's performance. These approaches, however, often bring problems since the removal of a bottleneck may result in other bottlenecks. This paper proposes an approximated method for such budget distribution problem. For budget distribution, a critical set is defined. The set contains the servers of which performance changes affect the overall system performance significantly. Then, the given budget is distributed properly to every server in the critical set. To verify the proposed method, two benchmark experiments are carried out I SLAM environments. The experimental results show that the proposed method provides better results than the traditional method does in many cases.
Purpose - The study's aim is to assess performance quality delivered through a performance management system. The case study first measures the effectiveness of the present performance management system of Bhushan Steel Ltd. (BSL), and then secondarily analyzes the employee training impact. Research design, data, and methodology - A case study research approach using a survey was followed. The final sample size was 50, with a simple random sampling technique used. Primary data came from the company itself and the secondary from books, the Internet, journals, etc. Results - BSL employee appraisals are used for many developmental aspects such as competence in the present job, improvements, performance development, and training needs. The results indicate that individual performance can improve if employees perceive the system as more transparent (i.e., not so confidential). Conclusions - Overall, the BSL employees think that the company appraisal system is useful; however, to make it better the company has to improve many aspects including appraisals based on supervisor observations. The company could use a self-appraisal and a 360-appraisal approach to improve such assessments.
In this paper, an uplink MC-CDMA system incorporating multiuser detection and smart antennas has been considered. The performance of asynchronous as well as synchronous system is studied over a correlated Rayleigh multipath slow fading channel. A simplified array-processing algorithm suitable for slow fading situation is investigated to overcome the heavy computational complexity associated with Eigen solutions. The effect of variable data rate in the system performance is considered and effectiveness of antenna array to handle high data rate is discussed. A brief investigation on the system performance degradation due to correlated channel is also carried out. Based on the extensive simulation carried out, the performance of the asynchronous uplink system is found dramatically improved with antenna array and multiuser detection. Asynchronicity and channel correlation are found to affect the system performance significantly. The investigated simpli- fied algorithm produces similar results as Eigen solutions in slow fading situation with much reduced complexity.

This study is a subsequent research results of Lee and Hwang (2015) and presents results of the case in which an information system is developed and applied for the performance management scheme proposed by the early study. This study aims to provide the organizations that want to implement and apply an effective IS operational performance management scheme with the practical alternatives that they may consider. This study first summarize the major contents of the performance management scheme proposed by the early study. Then, the processes and detailed contents in which an information system is developed in order to operate and improve the performance management scheme. The specific contents provided by the study include the system development environments and methods, system architecture, and application structure. Finally, this study summarizes the major results of the study and suggests future research directions.
The dual system in Korea already plays an important role in quantitative terms in the Korean lifelong vocational competency development system. However, since most of the existing dual system performance management plans in Korea focus on qualification-linked dual system, research on the effective performance management of the four-year university-driven dual system is very insufficient. This paper presents multiple measures for developing a performance management system suitable for the university-driven dual system to achieve qualitative improvement of the contract departments of the dual colleges or universities. As an approach to the end, a performance evaluation system is established by developing the evaluation items and indicators for the dual colloeges' contract departments. Next, it analyzes the needs of various stakeholder groups such as field teachers of the involved companies, students in apprenticeship and OJT professors of KOREATECH through FGI's and polls to diagnose the current operational performance, especially the causes of high drpout rates of the contract departments. From these results, the paper presents firstly the development of measuring methods for the developed performance indicators of the evaluation system and then a systemic performance management system which is based on 'input-transformation-outcome-feedback' structure. In addition, some measures for improving the high dropout rate and performance are presented from the viewpoints of each stakeholder.

The performance of two typical types of solar hot water heating system was tested in Seoul. Types of systems studied are single-tank internal external heat exchanger system and single-tank internal heat exchanger system. Comparing to experimental results, a transient system simulation program was made to analyze the performance of the selected system. The climate data, Standard Weather Year for Seoul, required for the simulation was provided. Computer simulations were used to estimate the effect of significant parameters upon system performance. The followings are obtained. 1. In the domestic solar water Heating system, the value $20-40kg/m^2\;h$ for flow rate through the collector is much better than the recommended value $72kg/m^2\;h$ in the solar heating system. 2. The effectiveness of collector heat exchanger and storage tank size are found to have only a small effect upon system performance. 3. The hot water draw pattern has a significant effect on system performance. A higher system efficiency achieved when draw-off occurred around noon than when it occurred around early morning. Using the above results, the reference solar hot water system which provides $300\ell$ of hot water per day, was selected as a guide for designer. And simplified graphical method was developed based on the modified f-chart method to determine required collector area. When the system design parameters of the proposed system differs from the reference system, required collector area can be calculated from area adjustment factors.
