Objective: This study was to investigate the perception gap between preceptors and pharmacy students on community pharmacy experiential education. Methods: The online survey was performed for 55 preceptors and 215 pharmacy students separately from April 1 to April 30, 2014. The preceptors were who completed community pharmacy practice experience at least a session and the students were who involved in community pharmacy practice for more than 21 days. The questionnaires were prepared based on the lesson contents guideline of Introductory Pharmacy Practice Education of Community Pharmacy by Korea Association of Pharmacy Education. The survey questions were consisted with demographic characteristics, evaluation of student and preceptors, benefits and disadvantages of pharmacy practice for both groups. Results: A total of 27 (49.1%) preceptors and 103 (47.9%) pharmacy students responded to the survey questionnaires. Preceptors indicated that students lacked face-to-face communication ability with patients, caregivers, and physicians. One of the Benefits of participating in pharmacy practice education as a preceptor included the improvement of self-esteem (70.37%). Disadvantages were identified as workload burden due to teaching and preceptor responsibilities at the same time. All students responded that benefits of experiencing pharmacy practice education were helping them determine their career, and they would consider working in community pharmacies (68.93%). However, handling over-the-counter drugs and communicating with doctors or nurses were identified as barriers. In addition, preceptors and pharmacy students expressed necessity of the standard text books and curriculums. Conclusion: This study identified the perception gap on community pharmacy experiential education between preceptors and pharmacy students. For the successful implementation of pharmacy practice experience, the effective and appropriate methods should be developed.
Purpose: This study aims to investigate the general characteristics of dental technicians and their health behaviors and to analyze the related factors of their work stress and physical symptoms. Methods: The survey used structured self administered questionnaires for a survey targeting 741 members registered of the Dental Technician Association in Daegu Metropolitan City from September to October, 2009. Total of 518 replies and analyzed 490 questionnaire excluding 28 incomplete questionnaires. Results: The work stresses were higher in those who answered that they were under 30-years old, unmarried, lower in rank, or had longer work hours, lower monthly incomes or poor self-perceived health status. In addition, those who worked in a dental laboratory with poor work environment including insufficient ventilation, sand blaster with no powder collecting functions, etc., tended to experience higher work stress than others due to their work conditions. The total average of the respondents of the survey who answered that they suffered from some physical symptoms was 14.7 points. It was found that the factors affecting the score of physical symptoms include occupational features such as work hours, monthly income, etc., and physical work environment such as the presence or absence of ventilator, of dust-collectors within sand blaster, etc., and work stress, exerted significant influence. Conclusion: The outcomes of this study indicates that to lessen work stress and to ultimately alleviate physical symptoms, it is necessary to do the following: improve work environment of young unmarried women; adjust their daily working hours; ameliorate physical work environment. To improve overall physical symptoms, it is importance to establish a safe and healthy working environment.
This paper compared the properties of cosmetics depending on the shopping tendency of female consumers in Korea and China. The data on Chinese women living in Korea and Korean women in their 20s was collected using an offline survey. The data on Chinese women living in China in their 20s was collected using an online survey. Three hundred twenty-seven questionnaires out of a total of 330 questionnaires were used for statistical analysis. The survey was conducted from January to February 2014. Eighteen questions on shopping tendency and eight questions on the properties of cosmetics were analyzed using a 5-point Likert scale. Data was analyzed by Descriptives, Factor Analysis, Reliability Analysis, ANOVA and Cluster Analysis, and SPSS 21 statistical program. In accordance with the analyses, the shopping tendency comprised a showing-off tendency, pleasure-seeking tendency, and practicality tendency; the properties of cosmetics were classified into conformity and functionality. On the basis of the elements in the shopping tendency, the female consumers were categorized into a low involvement consumer group, high involvement consumer group, and hedonic consumer group. The Chinese women emphasized conformity or functionality of cosmetics more than the Korean women regardless of the countries where they lived. Regardless of shopping types or countries where they lived, the Korean and Chinese women in their 20s emphasized functionality over conformity of cosmetics. Furthermore, Chinese women living in Korea showed a similar shopping tendency to Chinese living in China.
Objectives: This study was aimed to develop a Korean medicine clinical practice guidelines (CPG) of Climacteric and Postmenopausal Syndrome Methods: We conducted a questionnaire survey targeting Korean medicine doctors belonging to the Association of Korean Obstetrics and gynecology by e-mail and analyzed the answers. On October 18, 2016, we sent questionnaires to 583 people, and on October 31, 2016, we sent questionnaires to 581 people again. A survey ended on November 15, 2016. A total of 56 responded. Results: 1. 91.07% of respondents knew the concepts and contents of CPG, and all respondents agreed about the necessity of CPG. 2. Most common symptom of climacteric and postmenopausal syndrome that 65.75% of the respondents answered was the hot flush 3. To diagnosis a climacteric and postmenopausal syndrome, 69.64% of the respondents used pattern identification diagnosis mainly. 4. 36.84% of the respondents answered that herbal medicine and acupuncture are the most effective treatments for climacteric and postmenopausal syndrome. The most commonly used herb medicine was Kamisoyo-san. Conclusions: We figured out Korean Medicine doctors' recognition of Korean medicine clinical practice guideline, clinical diagnosis, treatment on climacteric and postmenopausal syndrome to make the contents of the CPG reflecting the clinical situation. Further research will be needed in the future.
Wearing a mask is essential during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. For this study, an online survey was conducted on the actual use of masks among adults in their twenties and older. We used 389 questionnaires for the final analysis, excluding insincere or incomplete questionnaires. We then analyzed the responses using descriptive statistical analysis, frequency analysis, t-test, and ANOVA. More than half of the respondents indicated that they wore a mask for five to ten hours a day, with KF masks being the most frequently used. Participants who most frequently used cloth masks were more likely to consider color, design, and eco-friendliness, while those who used KF masks were more concerned with price and safety. There was no significant difference in purchase satisfaction between mask types, but the purchase intention was higher for KF masks. When purchasing a KF mask, there were significant differences across genders in terms of price and eco-friendliness preferences. There were also significant differences across age groups in price, eco-friendliness, skin irritation, and comfort preferences. Previous studies have shown a significant difference in gender and age in terms of preferred mask colors and designs. However, this survey found no significant difference across these categories. These findings indicate those mask manufacturers should consider safety and eco-friendliness over mask color and design.
In generally, we use a method of the survey to forecast the economic demands and non-economic demands for a market trend. But we have a difficult problem to estimate the demand for the marketplace objectively because the survey with the non-response and the inadequate understanding on questionnaires did not provided the strong and uniform forecast. Here, we proposed a method compounded of survey and a statistical model to estimate the demand for the marketplace and discussed the mixture model applied to the service demand on an agency.
The purpose of this study is to suggest the design guide-lines for the community center through the analysis of users' satisfaction on the community facilities and programs. This study was approached by using theoretical investigation, a field survey and a questionnaire survey. The field survey was analyzed the current situations by conducting a housing managers' interview and viewing a blueprint of the community center. The questionnaire survey was tested by examining five different apartment complexes of over 500 households in Gwang-ju, which were all built between 2005 and 2007, 268 users were interviewed for the questionnaire survey. After all the questionnaires were collected, the data was coded and analyzed using the SPSS 12.0 program. Statistics used from data analysis were frequencies, means, standard deviations, one-way ANOVA, t-test, and correlation analysis. To conclusion, the satisfaction and usage of community facilities and programs shows higher for the indoor exercise/sports; such as, yoga, golf, and health programs than others. There is no strong correlation between the location and layout of community facility in apartment complex. However, this study could be a reference data when planning a new community center where plans to have community facilities and programs to satisfy its future users.
Rural amenity is regarded as a breakthrough that can revitalize the rural communities. The demand for rural amenity development is also increasing since the urban people have growing incomes and leisure time. This study was implemented to survey the needs and application directions of rural amenity database. The survey questionnaires were collected from various related groups including industry, universities, administration and research institute. Two kinds of analysis of variance (ANOVA) were carried out in order to prioritize the building rural amenity resource map among four user groups and ten rural amenity resources. The result of survey showed that most of respondents had been aware of amenity resources and the industry group had the highest level of utilization in making decisions for rural development. Although the significant difference among groups was not shown in the priority, the priority in the construction of information map was shown the significant difference among 10 kinds of amenity resources. Landscape's map and traditional resource map were relatively higher priority than the other resource map.
Purpose: A large number of attributes with mixed levels are often considered in the conjoint analysis. In the cases where attributes have two or three levels, we research on the efficient design of survey questionnaire to estimate all the main effect and two factor interaction effects with a reasonable size of it. Methods: To reduce the number of questions in a questionnaire, the balanced incomplete block mixed level factorial design with minimum aberration was proposed by Lim and Chung (2016). Based on the number of questions and that of the respondents in that design, D-optimality criterion is adopted to find efficient designs where the main effect and two factor interaction effects are estimated. Results: The list of the number of questions and that of the respondents in efficient designs for survey questionnaire are recommended based on the D-efficiency of each design and the proposed selection criteria for the number of both questions and the respondents. By analyzing all the respondents survey data generated by the simulation study, we find the proper model. Conclusion: The proposed methods of designing survey questionnaires seem to perform well in the sense that how often the proper model is found in a simulation study where all the respondents survey data are generated by the simulation model.

The main purpose of this research was to examine the purchase and use behavior of consumers related to washing machines in order to develope strategies to increase competitiveness of washing machines manufactured in Korea. Purchase and use behavior related to washing machines were examined by survey method and detailed information on washing conditions and usage of washing machines were obtained by diary method. 398 questionnaires were analyzed in the survey and 35 housewives participated in keeping the records of their washings for 30 days. The results of the survey showed that price and a tangle of clothes were the most determinant factors for purchase of washing machines and the knowledge related to washing was relatively low The diary method revealed that washing loads and frequencies of washing increase with the household size, and functions of washing machines except water level are infrequently used. Comparisons between the survey and diary results indicated that consistency between the two methods depends on the types of questions.
