  • Today, satellite remote sensing (RS) and geographic information systems (GIS) plays an important role as an advanced science and technology. This study was developed a Line Density Algorithm which was clarify and describe the thermal front by using NOAA SST (sea surface temperature) and GIS spatial analysis for systemic and effective management of fish raising industry and sea environmental pollution by land reclamation program. Before this, a study about a interpolation method was carry out which was very important for estimate the hidden value between a special point. For this study Inverse Distance Weighted interpolation, Spline interpolation, Kriging interpolation methods were choose and SST data from 2001 to 2004 in spring (March, April, May) were analyzed. According to the study Kriging interpolation method was the very adaptive method from a practical point of view and excellent in description and precision then others. Finally, the result of this study will be use for develope the Line Density Index Algorism.

  • In this paper, an effective scheme was proposed to estimate simple convex surface and simple concave surface which exist in image. This scheme is applied to input image to estimate simple convex surface or simple concave surface. When simple convex surface or simple concave surface exists, another proposed efficient interpolation scheme is used for the interpolated pixel to have the characteristics of simple convex surface or simple concave surface. The magnified image using the proposed schemes is more similar to the real image than the magnified image using the previous schemes. The PSNR values of the magnified images using the proposed schemes are greater than those of the magnified images using the previous interpolation schemes.

  • In this study, the procedure of interpolation surface modeling on bicubic spline patch equation and NC machining are presented. The procedure consists of three parts : patch modeling, cutter location data generation, post processing and NC milling machining. For generation of the cutter location data, tangent vectors and units normal vectors on the patch must be calculated. In order to investigate the properties of the interpolation surface created by bicubic spline patch, two kinds of end conditions, clamped end condition and relaxed end condition, were applied in this study. The shape of the patch depends on the magnitide of the tangent vectors and twist vectors at the corners of bicubic surface patch. the patch generated by relaxed end condition more approximated to the surface patch which was given.

  • Kriging interpolation is one of the gennerally used interpolation techniques in Geostatics field. This research refers to the contents about important experimental variogram and the study of theoretical variogram and formulation of Kriging interpolation. Kriging interpolation is applied as interpolation for stress smoothing in finite element method. Posteriori error estimation which makes use of stress smoothing from the FEM is very important part, we try to make practical application of surface regeneration ability from Kriging interpolation. This research is necessary preceding one in order to materialize adaptive FTM through posteriori error estimation. For instance, find the estimate value and estimate the propriety through various theoretical variogram models of the reference analyzed from tensional L-shape domain. It also provides possibility of the Kriging interpolation through comparing to existing Least square method as well.

  • Geostatistical data are obtained only at selected sites even though they are potentially available at any location In a continuous surface. Therefore it is necessary to estimate the unknown values at unsampled locations based on observations. In this study we compared the accuracy of 5 spatial interpolation methods: local trend surface, IDW, RBF, ordinary kriging, universal kriging. These interpolation methods were applied to annual rainfall data. As the results of validation tests, universal kriging with gaussian variogram model showed the best accuracy in comparison with other interpolation methods. In the case of kriging, the predicted values were more accurate and within a more narrow range than other methods. In contrast with kriging, local trend surface analysis, IDW and RBF showed the wide range of predicted values and abrupt changes between neighbors.

  • Surface currents were observed by high-frequency (HF) radars off the Keum River estuary from December 2008 to February 2009. The dataset of observed surface currents had data gaps due to the interference of electromagnetic waves and the deteriorating weather conditions. To fill the data gaps an optimal interpolation procedure was developed. The characteristics of spatial correlation in the surface currents off the Keum River estuary were investigated and the spatial data gaps were filled using the optimal interpolation. Then, the temporal and spatial distribution of the interpolated surface currents and the patterns of interpolation error were examined. The correlation coefficients between the surface currents in the coastal region were higher than 0.7 because tidal currents dominate the surface circulation. The sample data covariance matrix (C), spatially averaged covariance matrix with localization ($C^G_{sm}$) and covariance matrix fitted by an exponential function ($C_{ft}$) were used to interpolate the original dataset. The optimal interpolation filled the data gaps and suppressed the spurious data with spikes in the time series of surface current speed so that the variance of the interpolated time series was smaller than that of the original data. When the spatial data coverage was larger (smaller) than 70% of the region, the interpolation error produced by $C^G_{sm}$ ($C_{ft}$) was smaller compared with that by C.

  • Increasing demands on precision machining of free-form surface have necessitated that the tool to move not only position error as small as possible, but also with smoothly varying feedrates. This paper presents new algorithm for high precision 3D(3-dimensional) NURBS(Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline) interpolation in the reference-pulse technique. Based o the minimum path error strategy, interpolation algorithm was designed to follow the NURBS curve. Using this algorithm a real-time 3D NURBS interpolator was developed in software. The algorithm implemented in a PC showed promising results in interpolation error and speed performance. It is expected that this can be applied to the CNC systems for the high precision machining of complex shapes.

  • An universal NURBS interpolation for an open architectured CNC controller is proposed in order to unify internal data structure and algorithm of different interpolations such as linear, circular and spline, and to intelligently interface CAD database of the various workpiece contour. Furthermore, NURBS interpolation may result in better surface roughness and high speed machining due to the continuous generation of cutter movement. The mathematical manipulation of NURBS is presented and the practical implementation on the CNC controller of a lathe is discussed for real machining. The comparison between a computer design and workpieces machined on a lathe shows the feasibility of the NURBS interpolation format as an universal interpolation scheme.
