Differences in Clothing Selection Criteria of Regional Subculture Groups

  • This study regarded fashion selection criteria as clothing consumption value and desired fashion images, and examined selection differences according to regional subculture groups. Clothing consumption value is a direct value that people seek with clothing products and a perceived value which is divided into emotional, social, price, quality values. Fashion image which is a feeling communicated to others by wearing a certain fashion style is the most superficial value. Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) was performed to test the differences between regional subculture groups in clothing consumption values and desired fashion images. We found some differences in clothing consumption value specifically in emotional value and social value. The group differences were remarkably significant in fashion image comparison. 'Kang-nam' group pursued 'lively', 'sophisticated', 'charming', feminine', 'gorgeous' image more than 'Kang-buk' group. While 'Kang-buk' group produced lower scores in ideal fashion images, the group had significant higher seeking in 'sportive' image compared to 'Kangnam' group.

청소년 하위문화에 나타난 대중음악과 복식에 대한 연구-1970년대 이후를 중심으로- (A Study on the Popular music and Fashion of youthful subculture)

  • The Purpose of this study was to investigate homology between the Popular music and Fashion of youthful subculture and how the image of popular music have influenced on the 90's fashion. As the result, Korean youthful subculture analized to be different from western youthful subculture. In western countries, the style of youthful subculture groups spread to tricle up as developed themselves but represented tricle down phenomenon in Korea. Because life con-dition of Korean Youthful was different from westerns in everything. The Image of popular music have an influenced on the 90's fashion, it is be classified into the Jazz image, the Country & Western image, the Rock image, and Hip-Hop, Ragge image. 1. The jazz image from Jazz music has come back dandism of the nostalgia mood and intro-duce ethnic sense into fashion. 2. The Country & Western image is reflected in fashion of accessories details, materials and Coordination item. 3. The rock image from Acid Rock and Punk Rock effected the advent of hippie mood fashion, ethnic, ecology, new unisex fashion and Punk fashion trend. 4. The hip-hop, raggae image from Rap and Raggae music showed on fashion of primitive mood's naturism, Sports wear's generalization and dualism. After the 90th, youthful fashion of new gener-ation may be infered constantly on the move toward $\ulcorner Fashion democracy \lrcorner$formation.

하위문화맥락에서 본 패션형태의 변화(1)­Zoot Style을 중심으로 (The Changes in Subcultural Style(1) : Zoot Style)

  • This study about the Zoot Style is the first part of a series of research, which is to examine various subcultural styles in 1900s. The main concern of this research is to investigate the origin of a style, the way how it developed, and the reason it appealed to people. Subculture is a marginallized culture which the subordinal groups in the social structure developed as a means of reaction against the dominant groups of a society. The clothes and decorations of these groups can be regarded as the central expressions of exclusiveness, loyalty and identities for their groups. In 1990s, the distinction between the subcultural style and high fashion tend to be blurred, because it has gained more influence on the high fashion. Zoot Suit, adopted and diffused by Cap Calloway in 1940s, is the code of a subculture formed by a special race, class, space, gender, and generation identities. It develops as a reaction, and consequently reflects the struggles against the dominant culture: it is to refuse, appreciate and ridicule the dominant style. The Zoot Style had a great influence both in Paris and Cuba: the Zazous Style in Paris and the Caribbean Style of Cuba are the subcultural styles branched from the Zoot Style.

복식에 표현된 그로테스크 이미지의 형성 요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Formation Factors of Grotesque Image expressed in Fashion)

  • Some factors had influence upon the grotesque image formation expressed in fashion: for instance, thanatos, religions, fin de siecle (end of the century), the aesthetics of ugliness, subculture group's resistance and technology development, etc. Those factors have formed a grotesque while exchanging influence each other, and have following features: First, the thanatos, which is destructive and aggressive instinct of the inner world of human being, creates frightening object and motif to form the images of grotesque. Second, from religious point of view, the church made the Devil a tool for maintenance of power: They manipulated physical body and give a damage to it to sublimate it in holy existence, so that they could feel catharsis. Third, there was fin de siecle (end of the century) to let people have negative life attitude, such as uneasiness on following century, eschatology, skepticism and nihilism, etc. Fourth, the ugliness having unpleasantness and disharmony occupies governing position when our society becomes corrupted and uneasy, and the aesthetics of ugliness discloses the inconsistency of ideal and beautiful life in the grotesque images. Fifth, subculture groups, i.e., the lower classes, homosexual and the youth's group, etc, form the grotesque images by political and ideological resistance, complaints and specific identity, etc concerning governing culture keeping traditional ethics consciousness. Sixth, recent technology development has destroyed a boundary between human being and machinery, and bio-technology development has created transplant operation, plastic operation and other human body transformation operations, and genome research, etc has raised human being's identity.

과잉치 치수유래 줄기세포의 장기 배양 특성 (Characteristics of Supernumerary Tooth-derived Pulp Cells during Long-term Culture)

  • 이 연구는 과잉치 치수로부터 얻은 세포를 더 이상 증식하지 못한다고 판단될 때까지 계대배양을 시행하면서 초기, 중기, 후기 계대의 특성을 비교 분석하였다. 2명의 건강한 6세 남아로부터 3개의 과잉치를 발거하여 치수조직에서 줄기세포를 얻었다. 이를 SNT1(supernumerary tooth 1), SNT2라고 하고, 다른 아이로부터 얻은 과잉치는 SNT3로 명명하였다. SNT1과 SNT2는 똑 같은 시간으로 계대배양 되었고 SNT3은 조금 빠르게 계대배양 되었다. 전체 계대배양의 평균 기간은 $3.6{\pm}1.1$일이었다. 총 $23.3{\pm}0.6$계대까지 배양되었으며, 83일이 소요되었다. 이를 계대를 기준으로 3등분하여 세 군으로 나누었다. I군에서 II군까지 계대배양에 소요된 시간 증가율은 11.90%였으나, II군에서 III군 사이의 증가율은 28.62%로 2.4배가 증가하였다. 22계대까지의 배양기간에 대한 소요 시간을 회귀분석한 결과 y = 0.1169x + 2.25 ($r^2=0.4778$)과 y = 0.1169x + 2.0 ($r^2=0.6444$)으로 추론되었다. 과잉치 치수유래 줄기세포의 정상 배양은 20계대까지 가능할 것으로 판단되었으며, 후기로 넘어가면 계대배양 시간이 2.4배 증가였다. 후기 계대에서는 세포내 부유물이 증가하였고, 형태도 선형으로 변형되는 양상이 관찰되었다.

그로테스크의 특징을 활용한 패션 일러스트레이션 연구 (A study of fashion illustration applying grotesque characteristics)

  • This study was initiated to add value to fashion illustration as a genre of plastic art, as its importance as a progressive visual art is growing. The research purpose is to analyze characteristics of Grotesque, a subculture that emerged from the challenges and problems of groups which deviated from social and cultural trends, and to develop fashion design illustration utilizing the characteristics unique to that subculture. As a method of research, this study examined the characteristics and expression methods of Grotesque, which appeared in fashion literature, referenced a prior study of Grotesque, and developed fashion design illustration using Grotesque as a based. The result of this study are as follows. First, the characteristics of Grotesque that are applicable to fashion illustration were derived as 'evil, aversion, playfulness, heterogeneity, and abnormality'. Second, the expressive elements of Grotesques, reflecting the beauty of ugliness, present a methodology for developing new and creative fashion design illustrations. Third, it was found that Grotesque fashion illustration is a visual tool that is suitable for expressing the problematic origins of human existence, values, alienation, and social chaos. Fourth, 'arthropod' motifs were identified as a suitable theme for extracting the newly integrated Grotesque images through the process of contradiction and confrontation between humans and objects. Fifth, the Grotesque fashion illustrations could be understood in terms of plastic arts, and could provide a gateway to rediscovering human dignity. Based on the finding, we expect that creative design thinking and development that combines the motifs of various themes and Grotesque's expressive methods will proceed more deeply and specifically.

주거지역에 따른 청소년 내 하위집단들의 복식문화 연구 (A Study on the Culture of Clothing of Subgroups among Adolescents by Residence)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the culture of clothing of subgroups among adolescents by residence. In this research informants were selected by selective sampling and ethnographic methods such as field work depth interviews and open-ended descriptions were employed to interpret their culture of clothing. The results were followed. First our adolescents enjoyed the popular song as leisure and these popular culture was their inspiration source of style. Second adolescents were grouping the Kang-Bouk and the adolescents group preferred the style of popular singers and the Kang-Nam adolescents group preferred the musical competence of singers and specific type particularly Hip-Hop style. And in acception pattern of fashion style the Kang-Bouk groups accepted the recent fashion style continuously and wanted to be striking while the Kang-Nam groups accepted the various Hip-Hop styles and sought to comfort and suitability of that style. Third to consider the connotations of marketing the Kan-Bouk groups shopped on the street perceived as fashionable among peer groups and sought to the lower price but the Kang-Nam groups used the shops selling their original ip-Hop style without regard to the price and sites. Although there existed a two years' difference between the first and the second research(1996-1998) subgroups among adolescents according to the residence have had their own culture of clothing constantly. And a segmentation tendency by clothing behavior within the same adolescent generation is revealed more visibly.

하위문화에 나타난 대중음악과 패션의 기호적 해석 (A semiological analysis on the relationship between popular music and fashion style exposed in Subculture)

  • 현시대의 사회 문화적 기호로 대표되는 것 가운데 하나가 패션이다. 이는 패션이 전달하는 스타일이 단순한 양식이나 유행의 개념에 그치지 않고 일종의 소통의 코드이며 그 자체로서 하나의 미디어로서 기능하기 때문이다. 음악은 항상 패션에 자신의 힘을 과시해 왔고 패션 역시 음악에 영향력을 발휘하고 있다. 패션은 시각을 음악은 소리를 통해 세계에 대한 우리의 이미지를 표현하는 방식으로 패션과 음악은 뗄 수 없는 불가분의 관계를 가지고 있다. 또한 패션과 음악은 모두 사회상을 투영하는 동시에 사회군화 전반에 걸쳐 영향을 주고있는데 음악이 새로이 변화할 때마다 항상 새로운 청년문화가 창출되어 왔으며 이 문화들은 뚜렷한 패션 경향을 이루며 확산되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 하위문화 집단에서 그들만의 정체성과 의식을 표현하기 위해 사용되는 패션 스타일과 음악 유형들 간의 관련성을 기호적 관점에서 분석함으로써 청년문화 저변에 자리잡고 있는 대중 음악과 패션 스타일의 관련성을 규명하였다. 이와 같이 하위문화는 자신의 삶의 조건이 강제하는 모순으로부터 도피하거나 이를 해결하는 가장 중요한 기제로써 표상행위가 되고 그들 스스로 독특한 음악 스타일이나 의복 스타일을 개발하여 상징적 저항의 기의를 표출하고 있었다. 결론적으로 하위문화에 있어서 대중음악과 패션스타일과의 관계는 내면의 가치를 기호화한 상동성으로 나타나고 있음을 알 수 있다.

LED 조명처리가 꽃송이버섯의 균사배양에 미치는 효과 (Effect of mycelial culture of cauliflower mushroom (Sparassis crispa) using LED lighting operation)

  • 선행연구로서 꽃송이버섯 배지내 LED 조명색에 의한 푸른곰팡이 생육억제 효과는 모든 처리구에서 생육이 억제되었으나 blue 처리구에서 푸른곰팡이균의 포자발생량이 매우 높아 꽃송이버섯 배양에 부적합하다는 것으로 확인되었다. 배양 28일 후 LED 파장에 따른 꽃송이버섯의 균사생장 특성과 LED 파장 색상별 배양시간의 경과에 따른 균사생장 특성을 조사한 결과 모두 red 파장 처리구에서 균사생장이 높은 경향을 나타내었다. 이에 따라 red 파장 범위에서 광량을 달리하여 균사생장 조건을 확인한 결과, 광량 세기가 낮은 1.41 ${\mu}mol/m^2S$ 처리구에서 우수한 균사생장을 나타내었다. 계대배양 실시 여부에 따른 균사생장 특성에서는 실험 전 1회 계대배양을 실시한 처리구에서 유의적인 차이를 나타내었다. 배지조성을 달리한 톱밥배지 내 LED 광량별 균사생장은 미송 처리구에서 높은 경향을 나타내었다. 이를 미송 톱밥배지에서 LED red 2.11 ${\mu}mol/m^2S$의 광량을 처리하였을 경우 84일 배양한 처리구에서 유의적인 차이를 보였다. 상기의 결과를 종합하여 보았을 경우 red 파장 2.11 ${\mu}mol/m^2S$ 광량에서 84일 이상 미송 톱밥배지에서 배양하는 것이 꽃송이버섯 배양에 좋을 것으로 판단되었다.

형태변형 원리를 적용한 현대 패션디자인의 조형적 특징 및 의미 연구 (A Study of the Formative Characteristics and Meanings in Fashion Design Applying The Principles of Shape-Transformation)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the transformed fashion design based on the principles of visual design. Wucius Wong classified the kinds of transformation techniques as internal variation, external variation, extension, superimposition, transfiguration, dislocation, and distortion, which create and modify the shape. And the kinds of shape grammar for transformation are rule deletion, rule addition, and rule transformation, which are applied to interpretate for the change of wearing, the specialization & development of clothes, and the avant-garde styles in subculture groups. The formative meanings of the transformed fashion design are multi-transformation with complexity, formal beauty pretending confusion, and the basis for new trend.
