기초 설계를 위한 고속철도 교량-열차 상호작용 해석의 부구조화 기법 (Sub-structuring Technique of High-speed Train-bridge Interaction Analysis for Foundation Design)

  • 본 논문에서는 고속철도 교량-열차 상호작용 해석을 위한 단순 3 차원 상호작용 해석모델을 기반으로 하여 정식화한 부구조화 기법 적용 상호작용 해석모델을 제시한다. 부구조화 기법에서는 철도 교량의 상부 구조와 지지 구조를 각각 부구조로 모델링하고, 열차-교량 상호작용 해석을 효율적으로 수행할 수 있다. 열차 해석 모델로는 2차원 열차 모델을 사용하고, Lagrange 운동방정식을 적용하여 2차원 열차의 운동방정식을 유도한다. 부구조화 기법에서는 응축 방법을 사용하여 자유도(Degree of freedom)의 수를 줄일 수 있으므로 고유 값 및 고유 벡터 계산을 위한 소요 시간 및 비용과 후속 계산의 소요시간 및 비용이 줄어든다. 본 논문에서는 부구조화 기법으로 Guyan 감소 방법을 사용한다. 단순 3 차원 교량-열차 상호작용 해석과 Guyan 감소 방법을 결합하여 효율적이고 정확한 교량-열차 상호작용 해석을 수행할 수 있다.

  • An iterated improved reduced system (IIRS) procedure combined with sub-structuring scheme for nonclassically damped structural systems is presented. For dynamic analysis of such systems, complex eigenproperties are required to incorporate properly the nonclassical damping effect. In complex structural systems, the equations of motion are written in the state space from. Thus, the number of degrees of freedom of the new equations of motion and the size of the associated eigenvalue problem required to obtain the complex eigenvalues and eigenvectors are doubled. Iterated IRS method is an efficient reduction technique because the eigenproperties obtained in each iteration step improve the condensation matrix in the next iteration step. However, although this reduction technique reduces the size of problem drastically, it is not efficient to apply this technique to a single domain finite element model with degrees of freedom over several thousands. Therefore, for a practical application of the reduction method, accompanying sub-structuring scheme is necessary. In the present study, iterated IRS method combined with sub-structuring scheme for nonclssically damped structures is developed. Numerical examples demonstrate the convergence and the efficiency of a newly developed scheme.

An efficient seismic analysis technique for PCSG assembly using sub-structuring method and homogenization method

  • This study significantly reduced the seismic analysis time of PCSG assembly by introducing a reduced model using homogenization and sub-structuring methods. The homogenization method was applied to the primary and secondary micro-channel sheets, and the sub-structuring method was applied to the PCSG module sets. Modal analysis and frequency response analysis were then performed to validate the accuracy of the reduced model. The analysis results were compared with the full model and it was confirmed that the reduced model provided almost the same analysis results as the full model. To verify the computational efficiency of the reduced model, the computational time was then compared with the full model, and it was confirmed that the modal analysis time was reduced by 3.42 times and the frequency response analysis time was reduced by 4.59 times.

칼라 및 모션 특징 기반 비디오 씬 분할 기법 (Video Scene Segmentation Technique based on Color and Motion Features)

  • 기존의 비디오 구조화 기법은 주로 샷 또는 샷 그룹 레벨에서 이루어져 왔다. 그러나 이러한 샷 레벨 구조는 사용자에게 의미(semantics)를 충분히 전달할 수 없는 단점이 있다. 이런 단점을 극복하기 위해, 최근 샷 보다 상위 레벨 구조인 비디오 씬 분할에 관한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 샷 레벨 구조의 단점을 극복하기 위해서 칼라와 모션 특징을 기반으로 한 비디오 씬 분할 기법을 제안한다. 샷 내의 다양한 칼라 분포를 반영하기 위해서 각 샷을 sub-shot으로 재분할하고, 이를 이용해 대표 프레임을 추출한다. 샷 내의 모션 특징은 MPEG-1 비디오 내의 모션 벡터를 이용한다. 유사한 컨텐트를 가지고 있는 샷을 찾기 위해서 탐색 구간내의 모션 특성을 반영한 적응적 가중치를 칼라와 모션 특징에 적용한다. 실험 결과 비교를 통해 씬의 과다 분할이나 의미 반영 면에서 기존의 씬 분할 기법보다 우수함을 보였다. 제안된 기법은 비디오를 의미 있는 계층 구조로 분할해서, 사용자에게 의미를 반영하는 씬 단위로의 브라우징이나 검색을 가능케 한다.

  • A helical fabricating method using $CO_2$ laser was utilized for producing cone-shaped structure on a silica substrate. Output power and the number of scanning radiation were modified in order to control the structure. The experiment shows that the depth and width of cone-shape were increased with higher output power of the laser and the number of scanning. We demonstrate fabrication of multidirectional side-firing optical fiber with diameter of 440 um using the $CO_2$ laser fabrication technique.

Evolutionary Design of Morphology-Based Homomorphic Filter for Feature Enhancement of Medical Images

  • In this paper, a new morphology-based homomorphic filtering technique is presented to enhance features in medical images. The homomorphic filtering is performed based on the morphological sub-bands, in which an image is morphologically decomposed. An evolutionary design is carried to find an optimal gain and structuring element of each sub-band. As a search algorithm, Differential Evolution scheme is utilized. Simulations show that the proposed filter improves the contrast of the interest feature in medical images.

The transient and frequency response analysis using the multi-level system condensation in the large-scaled structural dynamic problem

  • In large-scale problem, a huge size of computational resources is needed for a reliable solution which represents the detailed description of dynamic behavior. Recently, eigenvalue reduction schemes have been considered as important technique to resolve computational resource problems. In addition, the efforts to advance an efficiency of reduction scheme leads to the development of the multi-level system condensation (MLSC) which is initially based on the two-level condensation scheme (TLCS). This scheme was proposed for approximating the lower eigenmodes which represent the global behavior of the structures through the element-level energy estimation. The MLSC combines the multi-level sub-structuring scheme with the previous TLCS for enhancement of efficiency which is related to computer memory and computing time. The present study focuses on the implementation of the MLSC on the direct time response analysis and the frequency response analysis of structural dynamic problems. For the transient time response analysis, the MLSC is combined with the Newmark's time integration scheme. Numerical examples demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method.

부구조법을 이용한 불규칙 기초가진을 받는 구조물의 시간 이력 해석 (Time History Analysis of Sturctures Subjected to Random Base Excitation by a Substructuring Method)

  • The mechanical structures mounted on vehicles or aircrafts are subject to random accelerations, such as earthquakes, at the base, and their responses have been calculated through spectrum analysis. However, this method poses a challenge during the synthesis of the responses owing to the loss of the vibration phase. It is necessary to evaluate the time history results to obtain the exact responses; therefore, an efficient technique is proposed to solve this issue. The present technique involves constructing a superelement using the sub-structuring method and finding solutions for this superelement. The finite element model (FEM) was substituted by a superelement, which was simplified into one element with selected nodes. Comparing the numerical results of the superelement with the time history responses for the original finite element model, the two solutions agree well despite the fact that the computation time of the proposed technique has been greatly shortened.

  • The model of a FMS (Flexible Manufacturing System) admits to a natural hierarchical decomposition of highly decoupled units with similar structure and control. The FMS fractal architecture model represents a hierarchical structure built from elements of a single basic design. A SES (System Entity Structure) is a structural knowledge representation scheme that contains knowledge of decomposition, taxonomy, and coupling relationships of a system necessary to direct model synthesis. A substructure of a SES is extracted for use as the skeleton for a model. This substructure is called pruned SES and the extraction operation of a pruned SES from a SES is called pruning (or pruning operation). This paper presents a pruning operation called recursive pruning. It is applied to SES for generating a model structure whose sub-structure contains copies if itself as in FMS fractal architecture. Another pruning operation called delay pruning is also presented. Combined with recursive pruning the delay pruningis a useful tool for representing and constructing complex systems.

소형선형 평면뼈대모형의 진동대실험을 통한 하이브리드실험 기법의 검증 (Verification of Hybrid Structural Test Technique by Shaking Table Test of a Linear 2-Dimensional Frame Model)

  • 본 논문은 지진에 의한 구조물의 거동을 평가하기 위한 실험방법 중 최근 국내에 도입되어 연구되고 있는 하이브리드실험에 대한 시스템을 구축하고, 그에 따른 모델개발과 하이브리드실험을 실시하여 하이브리드실험기법의 타당성과 정확도를 평가하기 위함이다. 이를 위해 NEESgrid의 미니모스트 시스템을 벤치마킹하여 여건에 맞게 수정, 보완하였으며 2차원 평면뼈대모형을 개발하여 실험에 적용하였다. 그리고 하이브리드실험 결과의 평가를 위해 국내에서는 거의 시도되지 않았던 진동대실험과 비교를 함으로써 결과의 신뢰도를 높였다. 진동대실험에는 하이브리드실험과 동일한 크기의 실물모형을 제작, 실험하여 크기효과의 영향을 최소화하였다. 두 실험의 결과는 거의 비슷한 것으로 나타나 하이브리드실험이 진동대실험을 대체할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
