This study presents a descriptive statistical analysis on grade characteristics and employment rates of three ocean-related departments at a university. The ocean-related departments belong to the same college along with the other six departments. To obtain the correlation between the grade characteristics and employment rates, we carried out the followings. Firstly, four-year employment rates and six-semester GPAs (grade point averages) were obtained from the nine departments. Secondly, the box-and-whisker plots were constructed for each data set to capture the grade characteristics (mean, the first quartile, median, third quartile, whisker+, and Q3 box). Finally, the grade characteristics and employment rates were correlated. It is shown from the correlation analysis that the employment rate has a positive linear relation with the mean or third quartile, while the rate has a negative linear relation with the whisker+ or Q3 box, for the ocean-related departments possibly because these departments have higher regular employment rates than those of the other six departments.
The purpose of this thesis is to address the imbalance between supply and demand of dental lab technicians and to propose its solutions by analyzing the improvement of employment rate of graduates of dental technology schools in Daegu area and the supply and demand of the technician workforce. Preliminary and full-scale surveys were performed from Aug. 10 to Oct. 10 in 2008 on 150 junior students of dental technology schools who finished their on-the-job-training and 150 dental technicians who were working for dental laboratory in Daegu by self-assessment questionnaire. Followings are the findings of this study. First, regarding the gender of the dental technicians, 32.7% of respondents were female 67.3% were male. Concerning age, respondents younger than 29 years-old occupied the highest percentage(39.3%). With respect to the lab technology school they graduated, DaeguHealthCollege took the largest proportion of 87.3%. With regard to interpersonal relationship at the school, 58.0% of respondents felt their relationship 'smooth'. Second, about the motive of choosing to be a lab technician, the biggest proportion of the respondents(34.7%) replied that 'because it is professional'. Regarding the degree of satisfaction about the profession, 'so-so' was the answer with the biggest percentage(51.3%) followed by 'satisfied'(32.0%) and 'unsatisfied'(16.7%). It showed that respondents were generally satisfied with their major. Third, regarding relevance of on-the-job-training with 'preparation for the employment', highest percentage of both students and lab technicians(50.0%) replied 'so-so'. With respect to 'necessity of practical education', highest percentage of the students and lab technicians replied 'relating didactic education in college to the real world' with 52.7% and 40.7% respectively. With regard to 'the aim of on-the-sport-training', 'practical training of didactic education' was chosen by 54.0% and 47.3% respectively. Fourth, with regard to the 'types of college education advantageous for the employment', both students and lab technicians groups chose 'practical training' with the highest percentage. Concerning 'helpfulness of clinical training on employment', students answered 'so-so' and 'helpful' by 50.0% and 42.7% respectively and dental technicians replied similarly by 50.0% and 46.0% respectively. Fifth, with regard to the influence of financial factors on the supply and demand of dental technician(question #1), 68.0% of respondents agreed that 'salary plays key role in the supply and demand of the work force'. Concerning the question about working condition, respondents requested better working environment. With reference to interpersonal relationship at the laboratory, respondents replied that interpersonal relationship affects the duration of the employment it was found out that there were many conflicts with colleagues or dental office. Sixth, regarding the satisfaction about their profession according to the characteristics of the respondents more respondents were 'satisfied'(10.30 points) with their profession and 'unsatisfied' were 9.47 points and the difference was statistically significant(p<0.05). According to the findings of this study, practical education on campus and on-the-job-training are as important as didactic education at class due to the characteristics of dental technology major. It was found that more practical training is related to higher employment rate. Therefore, efficiency of on-the-job-training by college education should be increased raise employment rate of the graduates and reduce the unemployment. Up-to-date information needs to be promptly delivered and future vision should be presented to the students to raise their satisfaction about the profession. In addition, to reduce dental technician's frequent change of their workplace after facing with the reality of the profession after graduation, related organizations should make an effort to present better future than now.

Software education is inevitable for the success of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and university education also requires innovation to cope with revolutionary change of the society. The number of students seeking employment in the IT field is steadily increasing regardless of the major of the student. However, the existing software-related courses offered by universities or private educational institutions are limited. This paper analyzes the existing software curriculum of several major universities for non-IT major students. In addition, in-depth surveys by students at Seoul Theological University is conducted to figure out the demand for the advanced level computer science subjects. Finally, new software education curriculum is proposed to fulfill the needs of non-IT major students and to improve the employment rate of non-IT major students seeking tech companies. The new curriculum will help to cultivate intermediate level IT experts that bridge the gap between advanced level IT experts and primitive level computer technicians.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the recognition of those majoring Library & Information Science on the jobs that they can get and want to work for, employment requirements and their preparation, to identify problems and to suggest how to improve current status. To this end, the jobs and employment rate reported by most of the Depts. of Library & Information Science and the preferred jobs and preparation to those majoring library and information were surveyed with 107 students studying in the Dept. of Library & Information Science in the K University as the subjects. According to the results, 49 jobs were identified as the jobs that those majoring Library & Information Science could get into. In the 1st to 20th job ranking groups, 82.1% of all identified jobs, librarian job took lower ranking as 29.2% while other jobs accounted for 52.9%. However, among the jobs from the 1st to 20th ranking accounting for 96% of all jobs that the subjects wanted to have, the librarian job took 45.8% and other jobs 50.6%, which suggested that the preference on librarian job was slightly increased among the jobs that the subjects wanted to have. Furthermore, the employment requirements were classified into religion, language, scholastic achievement, certification and experience. In accordance with investigation on requirements from employment announcement, 92% were in the generally acceptable level or insufficient level. On the basis of such results, it is suggested to introduce a variety of jobs to students and to provide Case-by-Case employment guidance for improvement of employment rate and social capability of students.

In this study, the objective of the study was to verify how college students' entourage and transformational leadership can affect employment and entrepreneurship perception. In addition, with the coronavirus infection, which has a widespread global impact over the past few months, we want to see how the social issue of pandemic affects the personal characteristics of college students and their perceptions of employment and entrepreneurship. This study was pre-experimental research designed to compare the differences between pre-and post-program on nursing student's career maturity, career decision-making self-efficacy and employment stress. The subjects were 247 junior-year students in nursing school. Mean value for career maturity was from 2.59 to 2.57, career decision-making self-efficacy from score 3.44 to 3.65 in average(t=8.67, p<.001), and employment stress from score 2.94 to 2.83 in average(t=-3.46, p<.001). Career maturity was significantly different according to high employment rate(F=3.15, p=.025), high career preparation(F=2.69, p=.032). Career decision-making self-efficacy and employment stress was significantly different according to high career preparation(F=1.22, p=.031) and low career preparation(F=2.52, p=.030).

This study was conducted to examine the effects of a career coaching program on nursing students' career decision making self efficacy, self-leadership, and employment-stress. The study was designed using a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design, and data were collected between June 15 and July 31, 2016. The participants consisted of 62 4-year nursing students in D College of B City who were assigned to an experimental group (n=32) or a control group (n=34). The career coaching program consisted of 10 sessions of combined individual coaching, small group coaching and group coaching. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, a t-test, ${\chi}^2$ test, and paired t-test with the SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. After receiving the career coaching program, a difference was observed in career decision making self efficacy (t=4.99, p<0.001), self-leadership (t=5.08, p<0.001), and employment-stress (t=5.08, p<0.001) of the experimental group. The results of this study indicate that the career coaching program was effective at increasing career decision making self efficacy and self-leadership, as well as decreasing employment-stress in nursing students.
I aim to discover that how greatly the curriculum of Life Dance department has had an effect on the career of students majoring in dance, with research objects being Life Dance department of two universities, located on the metropolitan area. The study method, called qualitative, includes some suggestions on the curriculum of the two and comparison, analysis of job-related materials; further, it involves discussion on the influence the curriculum has had on the career as dance trainers. The results from it are as follows; first, the curriculum of the department mostly consists of pure art such as Korean dance, modern dance, ballet, but has few creative life dance programs. Second, the employment into the art area has been more often than to the counterpart. Finally, it shows that a title of a department does not make a big difference and affect the employment rate. In conclusion, as the completion of the curriculum does not always guarantee a success, it is recommended that college students get some competent certificates related to dance.
The Korean government has focused on universities or colleges as the main targets of its startup policy since the 2010s. However, the performance is not so good, with a low survival rate. The purpose of this study is to examine the factors that underpin the success of student startups. First, through a review of the literature, this study compared the success factors of student startups with those of venture startups, which means the general startup sector, as well as youth startups, also a focus of startup policy targeting youngsters outside universities or colleges. Second, we analyzed case studies of startup companies connected University H. The literature review showed that the main target of student startups is the employment of university students. There is a lack of studies on success factors; existing studies only emphasize the entrepreneurship of students. The results of case studies showed several factors of success similar to those of general venture startups: founders, business model and resources including team, and mentoring.
We compared the cognitions of students, faculty, and business leaders in engineering related to woman employment and successful career. For this research, we developed questionnaires for 240 students of Korea National University of Transportation and Korea National University of Education, and 8 faculty who taught the students in the improvement program of engineering education environment for gender sensitivity, and 28 business leaders of company located in Chungbuk. As results, there were lots of difference among the cognitions of students, faculty, and the leaders related to woman employment and successful career. Especially, leaders gave considerable thought to upright character and affective capacity when they select employees. Therefore, we need to concentrate efforts to bring up talent women whom companies prefer by strengthening the strength and make up for the weakness as women in the improvement program of engineering education environment for gender sensitivity.
