Bus Reconfiguration Strategy Based on Local Minimum Tree Search for the Event Processing of Automated Distribution Substation (자동화된 변전소의 이벤트 발생시 준최적 탐색법에 기반한 모선 재구성 전략의 개발)

  • This paper proposes an expert system which can enhance the accuracy of real-time bus reconfiguration strategy by adopting local minimum tree search method and minimize the spreading effect of the fault by considering totally the operating condition when a main transformer fault occurs in the automated substation. The local minimum tree search method to expand the best-first search method. This method has an advantage which can improve the performance of solution within the limits of the real-time condition. The inference strategy proposed expert system consists of two stages. The first stage determines the switching candidate set by searching possible switching candidates starting from the main transformer or busbar related to the event. And, second stage determines the rational real-time bus reconfiguration strategy based on heuristic rules for the obtained switching candidate set. Also, this paper studies the generalized distribution substation modelling using graph theory and a substation database is designed based on the study result. The inference engine of the expert system and the substation database is implemented in MFC function of Visual C++. Finally, the performance and effectiveness of the proposed expert system is verified by comparing the best-first search solution and local minimum tree search solution based on diversity event simulations for typical distribution substation.

Synthesis and Characterization of Fiberous AlN by Electrospinning (전기방사에 의한 섬유상 질화알루미늄 합성 및 특성 평가)

  • Aluminum nitride fibers were synthesized by carbothermal reduction and nitridation of precursor fibers obtained by electrospinning. The starting materials used to synthesize the AlN fibers were $Al(NO_3)_3{\cdot}9H_2O$ and urea. Polyvinylpyrrolidone with increasing viscidity was used as the carbon source to obtain a composite solution. The mixed solution was drawn into a plastic syringe with a stainless steel needle, which was used as the spinneret and connected to a 20 kV power supply. A high voltage was supplied to the solution to facilitate the formation of a dense net of fibers on the collector. The precursor fibers were dried at $100^{\circ}C$ and then heated to $1,400^{\circ}C$ for 1 h in a microwave furnace under $N_2$ gas flow for the carbothermal reduction and nitridation. X-ray diffraction studies indicated that the synthesized fibers consisted of the AlN phase. Field emission scanning electron microscopy studies indicated that the diameter of the calcined fibers was approximately 100 nm.

  • Transparent conductive aluminum-doped ZnO(AZO) films Were prepared by a ultrasonic spray pyrolysis method at the substrate temperature below 23$0^{\circ}C$. A vertical type hot wall furnace was used as a reactor in the deposition system. Zinc acetate dissolved in methanol was selected as a precursor. The substrate temperature was varied from 18$0^{\circ}C$to 24$0^{\circ}C$. Aluminum (Al) was doped into ZnO films by incorporating anhydrous aluminum chloride (AlCl$_3$) in the zinc acetate solution. The proportion of the Al in the starting solution was varied from 0 wt % to 3.0 wt %. The crystallographic properties and surface morphologies of the films were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), respectively. The resistivity of the films was measured by the Van der Pauw method, and the mobility and carrier concentration were obtained through the Hall effect measurements Transmittance was measured in the visible region. The effects of substrate temperature and aluminum content in the starling solution on the structural and electrical properties of the AZO films are discussed

Isolation and Analysis of Micro-Regions Having Possibly Higher Tc in Oxide Superconductors (산화물계 초전도체의 고변이 송도부근의 곡출과 이의 성분 분석에 관한 연구)

  • In conclusion, a high-Tc superconducting YBa sub(2) Cu sub(3) O sub(y) phase with zero resistance at about 90K was successfully prepared by nitrate solution method with densed micro structure. The result of the EDAX analysis on the isolated particles using the microscopic meissner effect showed that the particles were isolated at higher temperature due to the differences in O vacances rather than the differences in chemical compositions. The composition of the isolated particles were almost identical to the starting compositions on the samples prepared by the solid reaction and nitrate solution method but the Ba-rich composition were seen in the coprecipitated sample. The isolation process on Bi system was not successful due to the weak dimagnetism even though its high Tc above the liquid nitrogen temperature.

  • To fabricate spherical lithium titanate ($Li_2TiO_3$) pebbles which are used for a breeder material in fusion reactor, titanium oxide ($TiO_2$) granules were used as a starting material. The granules were pre-sintered, and then aqueous lithium nitrate solution infiltrated into the granules at vacuum condition. The granules were crystallized to $Li_2TiO_3$ after sintering under the control of process parameters. In this study, the concentration of lithium in the solution, as well as the number of penetration times and sintering temperature affected the final crystallite phase and the microstructure of the pebbles. In particular, the sphericity and size of the pebbles were effectively controlled by a technical rolling process. The useful spherical $Li_2TiO_3$ pebbles which have 10~20% porosity and 60~120 N compressive strength were obtained through the sintering at $1000{\sim}1100^{\circ}C$ in the multi-times infiltration process with 50 wt% solution. The physical properties of pebbles such as density, porosity and strength, can be controlled by a selection of $TiO_2$ powders and control of processing parameters. It can be thought that the lithium penetration method is a useful method for the fabrication of mass product of spherical $Li_2TiO_3$ pebbles.

Effect of prehydration solution on hearing threshold after chemotherapy in patients with head and neck cancers: a retrospective study

  • Background: The study aimed to evaluate the effect of prehydration solution on hearing thresholds after cisplatin chemotherapy. Methods: In this retrospective cohort study, we reviewed the data of patients who underwent ≥3 courses of cisplatin-based chemotherapy for locally advanced head and neck cancers at a tertiary referral center (n=64). The dextrose solution (DW) group (n=26) received 2 L of normal saline and 1 L of 5% dextrose. The Hartmann solution (HS) group (n=38) received 2 L of normal saline and 1 L of HS. Hearing data were measured 1 day before starting the first course of chemotherapy, and again 20 days after the first, second, and third courses of chemotherapy. The severity of hearing loss was evaluated using the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (CTCAE). Results: Thresholds at all frequencies after chemotherapy were greater in the DW group than in the HS group. The increase in thresholds in 1 to 4 kHz after the third course of chemotherapy was greater in the DW group than in the HS group. CTCAE grades after the second and third courses of chemotherapy were greater in the DW group than in the HS group. Logistic regression showed that the odds ratio for CTCAE grade 3 or 4 after the third course of chemotherapy in the DW group was 4.84 on univariate analysis. Conclusion: Prehydration using a solution with salt was associated with a decrease in change in hearing thresholds after cisplatin chemotherapy in patients with head and neck cancers.

Inhibitory Effects of Deer Antler Herbal-Acupuncture Solution on Cathepsin S and L Activity in RA Model Mice

  • Objective : Dear antler (Cervus korean TEMMINCK var. mantchuricus Swinhoe) used for traditional immunosuppressive and immuno-activating action. The effect of deer antler herbal-acupuncture(DAH) solution, prepared by water extract method, on cathepsin activities in bone tissues (cartilage and synovial) cells from mouse rheumatoid arthritis (RA) model was studied. The cysteine endoprotease cathepsin mediates degradation of the MHC class II invariant chain (Ii) in human and mouse antigen-presenting cells. The studies described here examine the functional significance of cathepsin inhibition on autoantigen presentation and organ-specific autoimmune diseases in a murine model for RA. Methods : An animal model for RA in BALB/c mice thymectomized 3 days after birth (3d-Tx) was constructed All 3d-Tx BALB/c mice developed autoimmune lesions in the bone tissue cells, starting at 3 weeks of age, and the disease mediated by CD4+ T cells was chronic and progressive. Significant inhibitory effects of DAH solution on cathepsin S and L were observed in each organ in a dose-dependent manner. Moreover, we confirmed that cathepsin S and L activity in each organ were clearly inhibited by DAB solution. When we examined the inhibitory effects of DAH solution against autoantigen-specific T cell responses in vitro, in regional lymph node cells, but not in spleens, from model mice, a significant inhibitory effect of DAB solution was observed in a dose-dependent manner. DAH solution do not block T cell proliferation to Con A, indicated that the dose of DAB solution 10 to $20\;{\mu}g/m{\ell}$ was sufficient to inactivate the autoantigen-specific T cell responses in vitro. In vivo therapeutic effects of DAB solution were examined in a murine model for RA, autoantigen-specific (C-II-specific) T cell response were significantly inhibited in LNCs from DAH solution-treated mice. Results : Iinhibition of cathepsin S and L in vivo alters autoantigen presentation and development of organ-specific autoimmunity in RA model. Conclusion : These data identify selective inhibition of cysteine protease cathepsin S and L as a potential therapeutic strategy for autoimmune disease process such RA. Thus, DAH solution will served as a potent anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic agents for treatment of human RA.

Precipitation Characteristics of Ammonium Metavanadate from Sodium Vanadate Solution by Addition of Ammonium Chloride (소듐바나데이트 수용액에서 염화암모늄 첨가에 의한 암모늄메타바나데이트 침전특성 고찰)

  • In this study, the effect of precipitation temperature, ammonium chloride amount and addition method, vanadium and sodium hydroxide content of the solution on the precipitation of ammonium metavanadate were examined by using the sodium vanadate(NaVO3) solution in alkali region as a starting material. As the pH of solution decreased, the addition amount of ammonium chloride and the vanadium content of the solution increased, the precipitation rate of ammonium metavanadate increased. In this research condition, the basic conditions for obtaining more than 90% of precipitation yield were 10,000mg/L of vanadium content, 2equivalents of ammonium chloride addition, room temperature, and 2 hours of precipitation time. The size of precipitated particles decreased with increasing precipitation rate. Especially when liquid ammonium chloride was injected into the solution, the precipitation rate was the slowest and the particle size of the precipitate was the largest. After the primary precipitation by adding ammonium chloride as a solid, the secondary precipitation was carried out by adding new reactants. At this time, the precipitation with added ammonium chloride solid was not affected by the precipitates present in the solution. However, when liquid ammonium chloride was added, new precipitate was deposited on the surface of the precipitate present in the solution, increasing its size. Due to the difference in ammonium metavanadate solubility to temperature, the precipitation temperature at the vanadium content of 10,000mg/L in the solution affected the precipitation rate of ammonium metavanadate and the precipitation temperature did not affect the precipitation rate at a high concentration of more than 30,000mg/L vanadium content in the solution.

  • An analytical solution procedure is described to estimate the developed passive lateral earth Pressures behind a vertical rigid retaintng wall rotating about its toe into a mass of cohesionless soil. Various stases of wall rotation, starting from an at-rest state to an initial Passive state to a full Passive state, are considered in the analysis. Condition of failure defined by a modified Mohr-coulomb criterion, together with equilibrium conditions, is used to obtain the necessary equations for the solution. Using methods of stress characteristics and numerical finite difference, a complete solution within and on the boundaries of the entire solution domain is made possible. The variations of the soil shear strength and the wall friction at various depths and stages of wall rotation are also taken into account in the analysis. The results predicted by the developed method of analysis are compared with those obtained from the experimental model tests on loose and dense sand. The comparisons show good agreements at various stages of retaining wall rotation Fin- ally, results of analytical parametric study are presented to demonstrate the effects of wall fric- tion on the resultant thrust and distribution of developed lateral earth pressures.

A Study on Fabrication of La0.5Sr0.5CoO3Thin Films as an Electrode for Ferroelectric Memory by Self-patterning Technique (Self-patterning 기술을 이용한 강유전체 메모리 전극용La0.5Sr0.5CoO3박막의 제조에 관한 연구)

  • Self-patterning of thin films using photosensitive sol solution has advantages such as simple manufacturing process compared to photoresist/dry etching process. In this study,$La_{0.5}SR_{0.5}CoO_3$(LSCO) thin films as an electrode material for ferroelectric memories have been prepared by spin coating method using photosensitive sol solution. La-2methoxyethoxide, Sr-ethoxide, Co-2methoxyethoxide were used as starting materials. As UV exposure time to the LSCO gel thin film increased, the UV absorption peak intensity of metal${beta}$-diketonate decreased due to reduced solubility by M(metal)-O-M bond formation. Solubility difference by UV irradiation on LSCO gel thin film allows to obtain a fine patterning of thin film. The LSCO thin films annealed over$680{\circ}C$ in air showed perovskite phase and the lowest resistivity$(4{ imes}10^{-3}{Omega}cm)$ of the thin films were obtained by annealing at$740{\circ}C$.
