  • The livestock manure recycling have been performed worldwide because of its environmental and economic benefits. However, domestic standard protocol was nothing for high solid manure. Therefore, This paper was conducted to review database configuration of manure characteristics, analysis methods, bio-methane potential test for high solid manure recycling. In American society of agricultural engineers standard, manure characteristics indicated about sort of thirty types. This is important information to determine for manure recycling method. Furthermore, in order to determine exact manure characteristics recommended that synchronized chemical analysis method among studies. Bio-methane potential tests are widely performed in studies about estimation of organic substrates methane production. Although various methods and parameters were used, was no standard protocol and guideline in domestic. Bio-methane potential test methods and parameters were reviewed through various researches. Consequently, this paper is expected that assist to additional studies and manure characteristic database.

  • Recently, due to the advancement of buildings, finishing methods using stone are increasing. However, finishing methods are not standardized and rely on workers' arbitrary methods. In stone finishing, many building defects occur due to adhesion performance, so the adhesion performance of stones attached with epoxy is important. Therefore, in this study, the adhesion performance of stones attached with epoxy was evaluated by exposing them to various environments. As a result of the experiment, the test specimens exposed to thermal shock showed only 20% of the standard test specimens' adhesion performance, and the test specimens cured at high and low temperatures showed the standard test specimens. It was expressed in 65-80% of the test specimens. Therefore, the adhesion performance of stone using epoxy was found to be vulnerable to repeated harsh environments.

  • This paper is concerned with the problem in predicting the reliability of an LCD product, Product reliability calculation methods classify accelerated life test (ALT) and using the reliability standard as MIL-HDBK-217F and Telcordia SR-332. The reliability standard can calculate estimating value more quickly than accelerated life test. The system MTBF was calculated in accordance of Telcordia SR-332 standard which includes directions of part electronic measurement, temperature rise and environmental test data. This research is intended to obtain the useful information for each electric design step to save time and cost.

A Comparison of Standard Methods for Evaluating the Water Resistance of Shell Fabrics

  • Re water resistance of shell fabrics intended for we in outdoor apparel was measured using three different standard test methods, ASTM D 751, hydrostatic resistance, procedure A(Mullen test -- with and without a fabric support) and Procedure B (Hydrostatic head test). A database of information on their water resistance performance was created. The data collected with different methods were correlated and the advantages and disadvantages of each method were compared. The Mullen test with a support appears to give higher and more favorable water resistance values on shell fabrics preventing fabric rupture during the test. The hydrostatic head test gave lower hydrostatic pressure values than those measured on the two Mullen tests. The Mullen test is recommended for testing the water resistance of fabrics that high a relatively high water resistance because the Mullen tester applies a wide range of pressure. The hydrostatic head test is recommended for testing the fabrics that have relatively low water resistance. The area of the fabric sample that is in contact with the water is smaller in the Mullen test, so higher pressure levels can be reached and more samples should probably be tested to get a representative value for each fabric types. Furthermore, the hydrostatic head test was deemed more repeatable than the Mullen tests in his study.

  • We report mass concentration and size fraction of TPM, $PM_{10}$ and $PM_{2.5}$ according to Korea standard test method (ES 01301.1 and ES 01317.1) and ISO 23210 methods. Particulate matters were sampled in large stationary emission sources such as a coal power plant and B-C oil refinery. The Korea standard test method PM mass concentrations showed 3~3.5 times larger than the cascade impactor method. On the other hand, the size fraction results showed less than 5% difference (i.e. $PM_{2.5}/PM_{10}$) between two methods. Moreover, the correlation coefficient ($r^2$) is 0.84 between TPM results of the Korea standard test method and CleanSYS. These results suggested not only improvement of current test criteria in terms of technical and theoretical aspects. Further, additional measurements are required in various large stationary sources to compare current field data.

  • In order to improve the adhesion test methods for fire hose, 7 kinds of standards (KOFEIS, UL, FM, NFPA, BS, Chinese standard, JIS, JFEII standard) in 5 countries (Korea, USA, UK, China, Japan) were compared and adhesion tests were conducted by using the samples choosed randomly from the product produced in Korea. It was concluded that the sample size, the rate of seperation of a strip of the lining from the janet and standard judgment should be more differed and divided in accordance with the fire hose number in adhesion test to get the high Quality of fire hose.

  • IEC 61800 is an international standard on adjustable speed electrical power drive systems, which consists of three parts. IEC 61800-1 and IEC 61800-2 apply to DC power drive systems and AC power drive systems, respectively, which include power conversion, control equipment, and also a motor or motors. IEC 61800-3 specifies EMC ( Electro Magnetic Compatibility ) requirements for adjustable speed AC or DC motor drives connected to main supplies up to AC 1,000 volts. This paper studies the standards related to EMC and the text summary of international standard IEC 61800-3 which is an EMC product standard including specific test methods.

  • In this paper, the standard test methods at low temperature of rubber suspension components of railway vehicle are investigated and reviewed. In order to connect the TKR(Trans-Korean Railway)-TSR(Trans-Siberian Railway), it is necessary to evaluate the performance of rubber suspenion components of railway vehicle. In the current Korean Standard, the test method at low temperature of railway vehilce components and the test method of rubber bellows of air spring are specified. But, the specified test temperature is higher than the the operating temperature of TSR railway. So, the in-depth research for the test method and performance evaluation technique of rubber suspension component at low temperature is necessary and current KS code should be adjusted.
