The purpose of this study was to investigate drivers' postures in different car pedal systems and skilled levels under fatigue. Twenty four subjects participated in this experiment. For three-dimensional analyses, six cameras (Proreflex MCU-240, Qualisys) were used to acquire raw data. The parameters were calculated and analyzed with Visual-3D. In conclusion, ROAs of two leg-pedal system were less than one leg pedal system by pattern analysis. Through statistical tests, skilled levels have effects on ROAs(X, Y, Z) of ankle joint at breaking a pedal and ROAs(Y, Z) of ankle joint at accelerating a pedal. Also, car pedal systems have effects on ROAs(Y, Z) of ankle joint, and ROA(Z) of knee joint at accelerating a pedal. In addition, skilled levels and car pedal systems (cross effects) have an effect on ROA(Z) of ankle joint. These findings suggested that we should improve a present single pedal system.

Due to increased interest in safety in sports, leisure, industries, and daily life; the demand for products that protect the head is increasing. As a preparatory study for the development of head protection for head injury prevention, this study analyzed patents and utility models related to head protection products such as industrial safety helmets, vehicle helmets, and sports protection gear. For this study, 368 patents and utility models for head protection products searched through WipsOn were selected and analyzed by application year, function, application, protection area, main material, and subject. From the analytic results of this study, the quantitative and qualitative flow and characteristics of developing technology related to head protection products were identified. Through the trend of current technology, it provided data to seek the development direction in the future. The significance of this study is to secure objective data to establish a road map for creating new Intellectual Property for head protection products.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to provide basic data to develop safety education programs in elementary school. Method: Analysis is made based on textbooks for $1st-{\sim}6th-grade$ elementary school students published by Korea Ministry of Education & Human Resources Development. Results: 1) Among the textbooks. only , . , and courses dealt with safety education. 2) The contents of safety education included traffic safety, water safety, indoor and outdoor safety, fire, emergency measures, misuse and abuse of drug, smoking, toy safety, sports safety, leasure safety and disasters. However, the contents were theoretical, fragmentary, local and limited. Conclusion: These results suggest that the consents of safety education must be strengthened, and more practical and more behavior-oriented in consideration of activities.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for developing an educational program that can be practically applied in the field of survival swimming education. Research design, data, and methodology: This study reviewed prior literature including governmental reports, journal articles related to survival swimming programs at home and abroad. Based on the basic data collected through literature, domestic and foreign educational institutions and national educational programs were cataloged and analyzed. Results: The study found that among the goals of swimming education, the prevention of water accidents and the cultivation of water safety skills along with improving swimming ability are very important educational goals. Currently, domestic survival swimming education programs are divided into classes and training sessions, so it is necessary to develop an educational program according to each individual's swimming ability and a unified and systematic program through education for each level of survival swimming learners. Conclusions: It is thought that the reinforcement of the leader's capacity for quality improvement will have a positive effect for the development of survival swimming. Further implications were discussed.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a guide book on safety education for teachers to use in education classes for elementary school students. Methods: Dick & Carey's teaching model and Keller's ARCS theory were used in the development of this guide book. Results: This guide book was developed for lower grade (1st$\sim$3rd) and higher grade (4th$\sim$6th) elementary school students. The content consisted of subjects, worksheets, content for teachers, statistical data, case studies, and a safety letter to the parents. The 10 subjects were as follows: "Importance of injury prevention", "Safety at home", "Accident prevention at school", "Violence prevention", "Vehicles safety", "Water safety", "Prevention of Fires & Burns", "Safety of Toys & home supplies", "Safety in Sports & Recreation activity", "Prevention of injury caused by animals". Statistical data was presented by graphs and case studies were presented of cases of real occurrences of accidents. Worksheets contain various activities for students. Safety letters were composed for each student's parents. Conclusion: This guide book presents effective material for safety education classes in elementary school and the authors hope it will be widely used in elementary schools.

The number of vehicle accidents related to the side impact has increased since 1990 in Korea, thus the side impact test has been performed as one of the major vehicle evaluations of the Korean New Car Assessment Program(KNCAP) in 2003. A total of 77 vehicles of eight different types(compact, small, semi-midsize, midsize, and large sedans and small, midsize, and large sports utility vehicles) were tested in side impact and side pole impact conditions. In this study, the head and thorax injury values(HICs and chest deflections) of the side impact tests performed between 2003 and 2013 were investigated in terms of vehicle type, test year, and test condition. The recent vehicles showed better safety performances(lower injury values) and similar injury patterns were obtained between side impact and pole side impact tests.

This study was conducted on young children safety helmet to prevent risk of head injuries from external shock. Young children helmet shall be easy to wear and use comfortably. But the young children helmet market in domestic has imported dependently and widely variations in quality because the euro product of high priced and the east asia product of low priced are selling at the same time. Therefore, this study surveyed children under 13 years of age and Married people and studies their actual state of wearing. Furthermore, this study is going to propese the improving wearing of helmet and the major points of quality of helmet and the problem by comparing and reviewing regulations of domestic and foreign.

Since 2000, sports utility vehicles(SUVs) occupy about 40% of domestic vehicle sales. As sports utility vehicle sales are increased the probability of crash accident between SUVs and passenger vehicles increases. Generally, SUVs are heavier than passenger vehicles and their drive height and front end stillness are higher than passenger vehicles. Because of these characteristics SUVs cause more severe injury and fatal injury in SUV to passenger vehicle head-on impact. To evaluate SUV's aggessivity to passenger vehicle, we carried out SUV to passenger vehicle head-on crash test. And finally the way how to reduce incompatibility between SUVs and passenger vehicles is suggested.

The growing concern surrounding rollover incidences and consequences of Sports Utility Vehicles(SUV) have prompted to investigate the sensitivity of critical vehicle parameters on rollover. In this paper, dynamic rollover simulation of Sports Utility Vehicles is carried out using a validated nonlinear vehicle model in Matlab/Simulink. A standard model is considered and critical vehicle parameters like CG height, track width and wheel base are varied within chosen specified limits to study its influence on roll behavior during a Fishhook steering maneuver. A roll stability criterion based on Two Wheel Lift Off(TWLO) phenomenon is adopted for rollover propensity prediction. Further dynamic rollover characteristics of the vehicle are correlated with Static Stability Factor(SSF), Roll Stability Factor(RSF) and Two Wheel Lift Off Velocity(TWLV). These findings will be of immense help to SUV chassis designers to determine safety limits of critical vehicle parameters and minimize rollover incidences.

스포츠 인구의 증가와 함께 인라인 스케이트로 인한 부상의 빈도가 증가하고 있다. 이 논문의 목적은 인라인 스케이트의 종류와 기본 기술, 보호 장구 사용, 그리고 부상과 관련된 예상 인자 또는 기여 인자를 확인하는 것이다. 조정 미숙과 경험 부족이 부상의 요인이었다. 스케이트를 타는 동안 보호 장구의 사용 역시 미비 하였다. 결론적으로 안전한 교육 과정, 인라인 스케이트 타는 법과 보호 장구의 최적의 디자인과 효과가 추후 연구를 통해 규명되어야 할 것이다.
