  • Fertilizer impaction mechanism was simulated using a commercial program RecurDyn$^{(R)}$ a dynamic program that could handle contact problems. Even if there had been numerous papers on modeling of fertilizer applicator, the performance predictions were not satisfactory due to simplification in modeling. The most significant simplification was assumption of fertilizer particles as a solid particle. The assumption would eliminate rotation of fertilizer particles during the impaction mechanism. However, impaction of rotating body would be different from that of a solid particle. This paper introduced how the impaction was modeled using RecurDyn$^{(R)}$. In order to simulate, restitution coefficient and contact time was measured. A stiffness coefficient and a damping coefficient of a fertilizer was theoretically estimated using the measured data. Validity of the simulation result was not proved yet, but judged to be promising.ged to be promising.ing.

특징형상기반 솔리드 모델의 간략화 방법에 관한 연구 (A Simplification Method for Feature-based Solid Models)

  • This paper describes a new practical simplification method for feature-based solid models. In this approach, a solid model created using feature modeling operations is first simplified by the suppression of detailed features, and then, if necessary, the model is converted to a surface model to facilitate its modification. Finally, the simplified surface model is delivered to analysis packages. The algorithm was implemented based on CATIA V.5 and applied to mid-surface generation of plastic parts for structural analysis to prove the validity and usefulness.

  • Numerical analysis is made on the turbulent heat transfer with suspension of solid particles in circular tube with constant heat flux. The mean motion of suspending particles in mixture is treated as the secondary gas flow with virtual density and viscosity. Our modeling of turbulent transport phenomena of suspension flow is based on this assumption and conventional mixing length theory. This paper gives the evidence that the mixing length models can be extended to close the governing equations for two phase turbulent flow with solid boundary at a first order level. Results on Nusselt numbers obtained by analytical treatments are compared with available experimental data and discussed. They suggest that the most important parameters of two phase turbulent heat transfer phenomena are relative particle diameter to pipe diameter, gas-solid loading ratio, and specific heat of suspending material.

  • 예조건화 기법을 이용하여 AP/HTPB 연료를 사용하는 내삽 노즐에 대한 수치해석을 실시하여 실험데이터와 비교해 보았다. 내부 현상을 파악하기 위해서 고체연료가 regression 되는 현상을 묘사하여 시간에 따른 온도,압력등의 변화를 확인해 보았다.

Development of High-Performance FEM Modeling System Based on Fuzzy Knowledge Processing

  • This paper describes an automatic finite element (FE) mesh generation for three-dimensional structures consisting of tree-form surfaces. This mesh generation process consists of three subprocesses: (a) definition of geometric model, (b) generation of nodes, and (c) generation of elements. One of commercial solid modelers is employed for three-dimensional solid structures. Node is generated if its distance from existing node points is similar to the node spacing function at the point. The node spacing function is well controlled by the fuzzy knowledge processing. The Voronoi diagram method is introduced as a basic tool for element generation. Automatic generation of FE meshes for three-dimensional solid structures holds great benefits for analyses. Practical performances of the present system are demonstrated through several mesh generations for three-dimensional complex geometry.

Q1D modeling of hydrodynamic instabilities in solid rocket motors

  • This work concerns the investigation of a Q1D methodology employed to study pressure oscillations in solid rocket motors driven by hydrodynamic instabilities. A laboratory-scale solid motor designed to develop vortex-shedding phenomena is analyzed for the whole firing time. The comparison between numerical results and experimental data shows good agreement regarding pressure oscillations signature, especially in the flute-mode behavior, the typical oscillations frequency trend present in any motor liable to hydrodynamic instabilities. Such result ensures the model capability to cope with this particular kind of pressure oscillations source, allowing the investigation of the phenomenon with a lighter and cost savings methodology than CFD simulations.

  • 고에너지밀도 대용량 리튬이온전지를 채용한 전기자동차 및 에너지저장시스템에서 발생하고 있는 발화사고로 인해, 고안전성 전고체 리튬이차전지(All-solid-state Lithium Secondary Battery, ALSB)에 대한 연구가 국내외에서 활발히 진행되고 있다. 하지만, 단순히 액체전해질을 고체전해질로만 바꾸는 것이 아니라, 이로 인해 수반되는 전극 및 전지 설계와 해석이 크게 달라진다는 점에서 해결해야 될 이슈들이 산재해 있다. 특히, 전지는 전극 설계에 따라 그 성능이 굉장히 상이함에도 불구하고, 실질적인 전고체 전지 실험 구현의 어려움으로 전고체 전극(All-solid-state Electrode, ASSE) 설계에 따른 성능 차이를 체계적으로 비교 분석하여 최적화하는 연구는 매우 제한적이다. 이를 극복하기 위한 방안으로, 가상의 3차원 전고체 전극 구조체를 형성하고, 형성된 구조체를 바탕으로 다양한 성능 결정 파라미터를 도출하며, 더불어 분석 전극을 포함한 전지의 성능까지 예측할 수 있는 기술을 개발하는 연구가 주목을 받기 시작했다. 본 총설에서는 3차원 전고체 전극 구조체 형성부터 전고체 리튬이차전지의 성능을 예측하는 기술까지 각각의 기술들이 갖고 있는 장단점을 폭넓게 다룰 것이며, 나아가 본 기술이 나아갈 최종적인 목표까지 간략히 기술하고자 한다.

  • 3차원 물체 형상 모델링은 인식에 있어서 중요한 역할을 차지하고 있다. 기존의 픽셀(pixel)기반 영상표현은 물체 고유의 유기적 구조를 반영할 수 없고, 에지(edge)나 기반 물체 표현법은 물체의 자세한 표현이 가능하지만 물체인식을 위해서는 많은 양의 속성들을 만들어내게된다. 따라서 물체인식을 위해서는 물체의 형상특징을 직선적으로 기술할 수 있는 체적소 기반 물체 표현 방법이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 몇 개의 파리미터를 이용하여 3차원 정보를 효과적으로 얻을 수 있는 superquadric과 이를 기본 단위로 한 CSG(Constructive Solid Geometry) tree를 이용하여 3 차원 물체 형상모델링에 대해서 기술한다.
