Exploratory data were classified into external reasons and fundamental reasons to derive the concept of slow fashion. First, slow fashion is defined as sustainable fashion that considers humans and nature. It also seeks to produce morally good products that transcend time and space. Second, we identified the following external reasons: social responsibility, pursuit of healthy products, and pursuit of beauty. Finally, we extracted four factors that reflected fundamental desire: Recognition Desire, Ostentation Desire, Sexual Appeal Desire, and Power Desire. Altruism was emphasized by respondents who expressed social responsibility among external reasons and the desire for recognition among fundamental reasons. However, this goodwill also originated from human desire due to the emotional healing they receive from helping others. Interviewees sought psychological benefits such as self-satisfaction and spiritual growth through slow fashion that implied an Association of slow fashion consumption with human desire. Slow fashion consumption was influenced by moral convictions as well as various desires; in addition, external reasons for slow fashion consumption could be explained by desire.

  • Perceived crowding is known as a necessary method to evaluate social carrying capacity in recreational settings. But according to the results of previous research, perceived crowding, use density, and satisfaction have shown weak and indirect correlations. The theory of visitors’ adjustment is one of several possible explanations for this poor relation. But the validity of the visitors’ adjustment theory has not been not inspected clearly. Therefore, the purposes of this study are to understand visitors’ adjustment theory and to examine visitors’ adjustment to the overuse of recreational settings. Study hypotheses were formulated through literature review and related to visitors’ adjustment in recreation density. Pour hypotheses were established and inspected with the case study, i.e., Rationalization : Visitors’ satisfaction isn't related to use density in recreation setting, 2) Product-shift : Preference norm is related to current use density, 3) Self-selection : Visitors’ satisfaction for the use level is generally high, and 4) Displacement : Norm interference is related to willingness to revisit. The case study was conducted during May and June,2001. According to the results of this survey, visitors adjust to overuse of recreation setting through rationalization and product shift (hypotheses l/2 acceptance). Current use density isn't related to visitors’ satisfaction and willingness to revisit (see table 3). And visitors’ preference norm is modified by situation (see table 4). Visitors’ satisfaction and willingness to revisit don't show a high correlation but moderately high (see table 5, hypothesis 3 acceptance). Differences between visitors’ preference norm and current use density is norm interference. Norm interference isn't related to willingness to revisit (see table 7). Therefore, the norm interference concept is not a useful method to explain visitors’ adjustment to the degree of overuse in a recreational setting (hypothesis 4 rejection). As for future directions, the following are proposed: 1) correctly understanding and reestablishing the visitor norm and norm interference concept, 2) introducing a composite research method to monitor visitors’ behavior and survey visitors’ attitudes and coping responses. These efforts would be helpful in the Planning and management of recreational settings to improve the quality of visitors’ experiences.

  • This study is to explore what kinds of leisure we really need in our competitive speed society and what the true leisure should be like. The present researcher analyzed the concept of serious casual leisure and its implications on our social values. The conclusions of this study are as follows: First, we might have made a mistake paying too much attention to serious leisure while ignoring the value of casual leisure, because serious leisure has been thought to produce positive effects on self-development and social integration. It is important to note that casual leisure could not only satisfy human's need for balance in life and also contribute to her/his physical and psychological wellbeing. Second, In order to correct an error of sticking to the dichotomy of serious casual leisure, the concept of fast slow leisure, which defines leisure based on the way of its presentation, was also discussed. Third, the way of life which we considered unproductive should be reconsidered as it has a meaning in itself.

The sub-dimensions of manner leadership consisted of time management, academic performance, goal attainment and citizenship behavior, communication, family relationship, social relationship, image management and conflict resolution. The data were obtained by administering a self-reported questionnaire to high school students residing in Seoul. Statistical analyses were carried out using SPSS and AMOS. The main results of the study can be summarized as follows. First, the level of the adolescents' manner leadership tended to be more than average. In addition, they were good at image management but time management was absolutely lacking among the sub-dimension of manner leadership. On the other hand, it appeared that the adolescents' happiness level was lower than the manner leadership. Second, the result of the study was that the manner leadership was positively correlated with happiness of adolescents. Finally, happiness of adolescents was affected on these variables, such as grade, self-efficacy, emotional intimacy between mother and adolescent, time management, goal attainment, communication, and family relationship. • Traditional department stores have been struggling to attract customers for several years. Many retail stores have closed in recent years, even before the COVID-19 pandemic. The reinvention of in-store shopping value and experience is imperative to attract customers and reinvigorate retail business. The purpose of this study was to discover which in-store components can improve customer experiences and loyalty while also identifying dissatisfaction issues in consumer experiences in department stores. The data was collected from two consumer groups-luxury department store (Selfridges) customers and mid-market department store (Debenhams) customers-to identify the types of value and experiences they seek most often. The findings showed that to enhance their store patronage, Debenhams should reposition their brand image in a way that allows customers to connect with their self-image and lifestyle by improving efficiency and convenience and prioritizing the utilitarian and social value types. By contrast, Selfridges should enhancetheir store atmosphere, visual merchandising and sensory experiences by maximizing slow retailing experiences and emphasizing the aspirational self-concept image for symbolic and hedonic value. This research uncovered the existence of numerous overlappingvalue dimensions, each of which contributed to the enhancement of the others. Several young customers expressed their support for ecologically responsible, cost-effective second-hand luxury products. Instead of focusing merely on conventional value dimensions, department retailers should determine how environmental and ethical objectives can be fulfilled. This study explained how department stores can craft their in-store environments to appeal to their customers' preferred value types to ensure success in a competitive market.

  • After the tragic incident of the sinking of Sewol in spring 2014, Korean migrants in Britain began to hold street protests in London. These protestors condemned the Korean government for the lack of appropriate responses to the accident, and for its failure to conduct proper investigation on the issue. The small group of protestors held silent street protests every month at Trafalgar Square, despite not gaining much media coverage nor public attention. These migrants' almost three-year long protest outside their homeland is puzzling. Not only did they live in Britain for a long time to the extent that they regard the country as their second home, but they also exert scant amount of influence on the political landscape in South Korea. What can then account for these individuals' participation in activism related to their homeland politics? In this paper, we utilize the concept of 'moral identity' to explain the behaviors of Korean migrants involved in the street protests. These migrants had strong 'moral identity', which triggered a sense of responsibility to act when their cherished moral values were jeopardized. Korean migrants who possessed a strong sense of moral identity placed huge importance on living in accordance with their moral values. It is a way of upholding their self-esteem and sustaining their ideal self.

  • Purpose: To explain the concept of postpartum weight retention and to analyze factor effect on it. Method: A total of 20 studies related postpartum weight retention were selected in the year of 1988-2001 and analysis was done. Result: A demographic factor like parity, age, social and economic level and life style such as exercise, diet, breast feeding are influential factor on postpartum retention weight. But parts of them don't agree the same results. Meanwhile, in some studies, psychological factor like women's self esteem related to postpartum retention weight, body image change, depressing is found to be very related. As a result, postpartum overweight gain could be a bad factor of physical and mental health. In Korea, we have few studies related to them. Conclusion: It is required to do many-sided and deep studies about aspects of postpartum retention weight and the factor that effect on it. Postpartum retention weight should be approached by controling weight from the period of pregnancy. And it would rather be researched through individual approach considered women's various demographic, social-cultural and physical level than be required standardized level of weight gain.
