  • In this paper, the research and development aim to strengthen the digital accessibility of the elderly by developing a kiosk incorporating AI voice recognition technology that can replace the promotional signage currently being installed and spread in the elderly and social welfare centers most frequently used by the digital underprivileged. It was intended to develop a converged system for the use of bulletin board functions, educational functions, and welfare center facilities, and to seek ways to increase the user's digital device experience through direct experience and education. Through interviews and surveys of senior citizens and social welfare centers, it was intended to collect problems and pain Points that the elderly currently experience in the process of using kiosks and apply them to the development process, and improve problems through pilot services. Through this study, it was confirmed that voice recognition technology is 2 to 6 times faster than keyboard input, so it is helpful for the elderly who are not familiar with device operation. However, it is necessary to improve the problem that there is a difference in the accuracy of the recognition rate according to the surrounding environment with noise. Through small efforts such as this study, we hope that the elderly will be a little free from digital alienation.

  • Korean government implemented the Build-Transfer-Lease (BTL) mechanism since 2005 as one of the privatization methods to procure the social infrastructure with private investment. The mechanism was originally prepared 10 provide such public properties as education facilities, child-care facilities, old generation recuperation facilities, medical welfare facilities, military personnel's apartments, environment facilities, and lease apartments. Since 2005, a total of 13.5 trillion won-valued private fund has been directed to the public educational facilities, which occupies 58% of the total private investment in the facilities of the seven categories. However, many officials in the local public entities have anticipated that the local entities need to be restructured or downsized because of the privatization in stead of providing the educational facilities by governmental finance. The main objective of this study is to identify the appropriate technocrat organization structures to manage the privatization procedures.

  • The population of the elderly is rapidly increased because maturation of the social welfare system and development of medical technology. However, welfare environments for the elderly are poor either in its quality or its quantity. The aims of this study is to confirm the space improvement possibility to change the Gyung Ro Dang to the senior life support center as a community welfare service network. This study is done by the comparative analysis between existing Gyung Ro Dang in korea and former cases in Japan based on the elderly's facility preference. The facility's space reprogramming alternative from that analysis is applied to change the Gyung Ro Dang to a network facility for the regional senior life support. Afterward, it is proposed that first, facilities should be expanded scale by the new education and health improvement facilities functional room that the modern elderly need. second, Facility space will be reconstitution because the Gyung Ro Dang have to be extended it's role as a community welfare network.

The Convergence Factors of Turnover and Effect of Job Satisfaction of Physical Therapist in Residential Facility for the Disabled on Job Commitment (장애인 거주시설 물리치료사의 직무 만족이 직무몰입에 미치는 영향과 융합적 이직 요인)

  • This study investigated the effects of job satisfaction on job commitment and turnover factors of physical therapists working in residential facilities for the disabled. Job satisfaction (23 questions) and organizational commitment (11 questions) were investigated for 122 physical therapists working in residential facilities for the disabled. As a result of the study, the job satisfaction of physical therapists working in residential facilities for the disabled was 3.16, and the level of organizational commitment was 3.29, which was moderate. Among job satisfaction, higher self-esteem, superior and welfare system, communication, and satisfaction with colleagues showed higher organizational commitment. Self-esteem, supervisor and welfare system, communication, and co-worker factors were found to affect emotional commitment. Physical therapists working in residential facilities for the disabled pointed out dissonance between their boss and colleagues, poor working environment, salary problems, and excessive work as factors for turnover. In order to increase organizational commitment of physical therapists working in residential facilities for the disabled, it seems that respect for their work and improvement of relationships with superiors and colleagues are necessary.

  • This study attempts to provide the fundamental materials for space program in terms of planning a senior welfare center by means of examining and analyzing the present conditions of spatial arrangement of each section in senior welfare center for the aged. The results of the study are as in the following. 1) The demand for new service programs corresponding to the improved quality of the elderly and various social desires is relatively on the increase. Each program in senior welfare center for the elderly should be connected in an organic manner and the organization of space should be provided. 2) The section of counseling, the first step when using a welfare center, should be located in the entrance of the building and it has to be closely connected with other section. 3) The section of medical rehabilitation is a place mostly for the elderly in their frail physical condition; therefore, it is effective to use horizontal line. 4) It is important for the room for volunteers in the section for domiciliary welfare to be arranged flexibly with the office or the room for social education, and it is necessary to consider how easy daytime or short-term care is accessible. 5) The space where dynamic programs are progressed in the section of social education should be distinguished from the section of medical rehabilitation or the room for daytime care and the room for short-term care of the section of domiciliary welfare.

  • This research analyzed the influence of distributive justice on the job satisfaction and the mediating effect of the empowerment of social workers in rehabilitation facilities for disabled persons. A survey of 241 social workers being engaged in the facilities of A Metropolitan City and B Province was conducted. The analysis result of this research is as follows : the social workers' distributive justice influenced the job satisfaction positively and the empowerment mediated between the distributive justice and the job satisfaction. According to these results, some solutions can be presented to promote their job satisfaction. It is necessary to improve the social workers' perception of distributive justice and their empowerment through various methods. I think that this study will contribute to the improvement of the level of services in the facilities and desirable community life and self-reliant life of the disabled.

The Effect of Social Workers' Convergent Job Competence Enhancement Working in a Social Welfare Facility on Quality of Life (사회복지시설 종사자의 융합적 직무역량강화가 삶의 질에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine whether the enhancement of convergent job competence of social worker working in a social welfare facility affects the quality of life. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, we surveyed 20 social welfare workers working in 20 social welfare facilities in Gyeonggi area and used 188 pieces collected. The random sampling method was used for the sampling method. As a result, there was a positive correlation between personal competence and satisfaction, environmental competence and dissatisfaction, relationship competence and satisfaction in social workers' competence enhancement and quality of life. And social competence's individual competence and environmental competence play a positive role in dissatisfaction. Also, it can be seen that the relationship competency plays a negative role in dissatisfaction. The degree of individual competence, the ability to control the mind to turnover, and the relationship capacity play a positive role in satisfaction. Therefore, in order to improve the quality of life of the social welfare workers, it is expected that there will be a positive effect in implementing the job capacity enhancement education program for the social welfare workers.

A Study on the Current Statue of Resources Development in Social Welfare Organizations (Focusing on the Residential Facilities for People with Disabilities) (사회복지조직의 자원개발 실태연구 -장애인 거주시설을 중심으로-)

  • This study identifies the statues of the resource development in residential facilities for people with disabilities to review the current level and propose necessary supporting measures to revitalize resource development in this current time when the importance of resource development is rising for social welfare organizations. Specifically, this study conducted a survey on the current statues and needs for resource development and focus group interviews to acquire in-depth opinions on the need for resource development and supporting measures in 255 nationwide residential facilities for the disabled. The results showed that 50% of the resource development for the residential facilities depended on private donations, while the presence of exclusive workforce made differences among development plans, performance and achievement. Also, their resource development methods were limited around direct requests, such as personal recommendations, as they are faced with challenges such as inadequate related expertise and technologies for resource development, lack of exclusive workforce, and lack of interest in available facilities in the local community. With reference to these findings, this study proposes the following development measures: placement of exclusive workforce, adoption of diverse resource development methods, transparent and reliable resource development, and preparation for systematic step-by-step professional training on resource development.

Effects of Transformational Leadership on the Organizational Effectiveness of Long-Term Care Facilities : Focusing on the Care Giver's Mediating effect of Empowerment (노인장기요양기관의 변혁적 리더십이 조직효과성에 미치는 영향 : 요양보호사의 임파워먼트 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine effects of empowerment on relationship between supervisors transformational leadership recognized by care givers and organizational effectiveness represented as the job satisfaction and the organizational commitment. For the purpose, survey were conducted with care givers working in long-term care facilities in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do and Incheon, and final data were resulted from analysis of 283 examines of those care givers. The findings of this study were as follows: first, transformational leadership of long-term care facilities had a significant influence on the job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Second, the care giver's empowerment had a influence on the job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Third, empowerment worked as mediators between the transformational leadership of long-term care facilities and care giver's job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Based upon these findings, we can propose practices towards improving a long-term care facilities administrator's transformational leadership and implication of program development and provide an institutional strategy aiming to care giver's empowerment improvement.

Development of the Expert Education Program for the Management of Mental Health Prevention (정신건강예방관리 전문직 직무교육 프로그램 개발)

  • Mental health service facilities implement an effort to meet the increased mental health demands. However, no specific 'mental health expert education program' have been offered yet. This study aimed to develop of the expert education programs which are general programs(GP), and specific programs(SP) for the management of mental health prevention in 3 kinds of facilities, psychosocial rehabilitation centers, homeless facilities, and domestic violence counselling facilities. Data were gathered from the service providers by structured questionnaire, and experts related with mental health by delphi study. We surveyed the management status and present expert programs. Consequently, domains of the education programs were extracted. As results, we identified the type of provider's job & demands for education. Thus, we gained the informations for developing the expert education programs in mental health facilities. GP were composed by 3 domains and 9 programs, and SP were composed by 3 programs each facilities. This study should be helpful in expanding the government educational operations related with mental health prevention areas. Eventually, community mental health will be promoted and socio-economic burdens by mental health problems will be lessened. In addition, it will be a basic evidence for developing specialized programs in a mental health prevention system foundation.
