  • Smart healthcare environments which merge medical and IT technology are getting ready for the third generation centering EHR from current second generation. As a basic technology for the introduction and activation of EHR systems it requires heterogeneous network interworking techniques between various wired and wireless medical devices. Interworking technology for heterogeneous network among various medical devices is needed to introduce EHR system. The heterogeneous network interworking technology is needed for construction of a reliable data system to convert each of unstructured data into structured data. Therefore, in this paper, we identify the domestic and international trends of smart medical field and analyze the characteristics of wired and wireless communication technology that is used in a heterogeneous network. and also suggest requirements needed for interworking technology and provide interworking technology based on them. we expect that proposed method which is designed for smart healthcare environments would provide a basic architecture needed for third smart medical technology generation.

  • The goal of the construction work in the past was to improve the efficiency through cost reduction and shortening the construction period. However, the importance of safety management has recently been emphasized, and the Ministry of Employment and Labor has set a goal of reducing the number of deaths caused by industrial accidents by half. As a result, institutional and legal improvements are pursued and the need for safety is emphasized. However, most construction companies, except for some large construction companies, are lacking in safety management. So, In this paper, we design and implement a safety management system for construction site using smart helmets and beacons.

  • In the era of the 4th industrial revolution, smart construction is actively researched, in the domestic construction field, and one of the key elements in this field is Building Information Modeling(BIM). In Korea, smart construction is being implemented through BIM-based digitization and intelligence. The geotechnical engineering field should also prepare for the introduction of BIM. In this study, the concept and application status of GeoBIM were identified, and the direction of future research was presented. This study is a part of the study "Establishment of GeoBIM-based Digital Twin Maintenance System" in the current "Technology Development for Establishment of Jeju Ground Collapse Response System for Safe Road Operation". The subject and scope of the study is continuous excavation at caves located under roads in Jeju Island, and initial research is being conducted on Jaeamcheon-gul and Jeonggusu-gul. This study aims to build a digital twin through individual data construction and integration processes such as cave shape modeling using laser scanners, 3D stratum modeling using borehole information and geophysical exploration data, and modeling of surrounding conditions using drones.

  • This paper presents an advanced life cycle cost (LCC) analysis of a ground source heat pump (GSHP) system and suggests a smart operation mode with a thermal performance test (TPT) and an energy pile system constructed on the site of the Incheon International Airport (IIA). First, an economic analysis of the GSHP system was conducted for the second passenger terminal of the IIA considering actual influencing factors such as government support and the residual value of the equipment. The analysis results showed that the economic efficiency of the GSHP system could be increased owing to several influential factors. Second, a multiple regression analysis was conducted using different independent variables in order to analyze the influence indices with regard to the LCC results. Every independent index, in this case the initial construction cost, lifespan of the equipment, discount rate and the amount of price inflation can affect the LCC results. Third, a GSHP system using an energy pile was installed on the site of the construction laboratory institute of the IIA. TPTs of W-shape and spiral-coil-type GHEs were conducted in continuous and intermittent operation modes, respectively, prior to system operation of the energy pile. A cooling GSHP system in the energy pile was operated in both the continuous and intermittent modes, and the LCC was calculated. Furthermore, the smart operation mode and LCC were analyzed considering the application of a thermal storage tank.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between smart factory utilization and continued use intention between UTAUT, dynamic capabilities of smart factory construction companies and present the company's strategic direction. Research design, data, and methodology: In this study, a structured research model was derived to confirm the relationship between UTAUT, dynamic capabilities, smart factory utilization and continued use intention and the difference according to Technology perception. For analysis a total of 223 valid questionnaires from e-commerce users were used. Confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equations were conducted to verify. Results: Both UTAUT, dynamic capabilities had a significant effect on smart factory utilization as well as continued use intention. It was found that the relationship between UTAUT, dynamic capabilities, smart factory utilization, and continued use intention. differed depending on the technology perception. Conclusions: Organizational members utilize the smart factory in anticipation of effects such as work performance and various improvements. Smart factory data will be used continuously when it is useful for business processes and operations. It is necessary to establish strategies and provide training to improve the technical level and capabilities of organizational members. Through this, a strategy is needed that can be continuously used by utilizing the information obtained through smart factory to improve work efficiency, productivity and efficiency increase is needed

  • In the situation where there should be a gap between the design environments of 2D drawing and 3D BIM modeling, it is unavoidable aspect to face confusion caused by parallel usage of both technologies unless the project delivery systems are entirely upgraded to 3D. Therefore, it is critical to make efforts to minimize this confusion. Meanwhile, detailed drawings have very important roles in the construction process because they do not only concretely express construction methods for a given design plan but also provide basis for quantity takeoff and construction cost estimation etc. This paper suggests a plan to standardize detailed information based on BIM standard framework in order to make BIM realize the information. In the short term, this plan provides improved environment where both BIM and CAD technologies can be applied and, in the long term, it provides bases for BIM to replace CAD technology.

  • Major countries are trying to expand the construction of smart factories by introducing ICT such as the Internet of Things, cloud, and big data into the manufacturing sector to secure national-level manufacturing competitiveness in the era of the 4th industrial revolution. In addition, Germany is pushing for Industry 4.0 to build a fully automatic production system through the Internet of Things, and China is pushing for the expansion of smart factories to enhance the country's industrial competitiveness through Made in China 2025, Japan's intelligent manufacturing system, and the Korean government's manufacturing innovation 3.0. In this study, considering the increasing security connectivity of smart factories, we would like to identify security threats in the external connection part of smart factories and suggest security enhancement measures based on domestic and international standard security models to respond to the identified security threats. Eventually the proposed method can be applied by accurately identifying the smart factory security status, diagnosing vulnerabilities, establishing appropriate improvement plans, and expanding security strategies to respond to security threats.

  • South Korea, as the 10th country to join the Artemis program led by NASA, is actively supporting various researches related to the lunar exploration. In particular, the utilization of water as a resource in the Moon has been focused since it was discovered that ice exists at the lunar pole as a form of frozen soil. Information on the thermal conductivity of lunar regolith can be used to estimate the existence for ice water extraction by thermal mining. In this study, the vacuum pressure effect on thermal conductivity of KLS-1 was investigated with a DTVC (Dusty Thermal Vacuum Chamber). The reliability of KLS-1 was reconfirmed through comparison with thermal conductivity of known standard lunar regolith simulants such as JSC-1A. An empirical equation to assess thermal conductivity considering dry unit weight and vacuum pressure was proposed. The results from this study can be implemented to simulate lunar cryogenic environment using the DTVC.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to develop a deep learning model to detect fire extinguishers in images taken from CCTVs in underground utility tunnels. Method: Various fire extinguisher images were collected for detection of fire extinguishers in the running-based underground utility tunnel, and a model applying the One-stage Detector method was developed based on the CNN algorithm. Result: The detection rate of fire extinguishers photographed within 10m through CCTV video in the underground common area is over 96%, showing excellent detection rate. However, it was confirmed that the fire extinguisher object detection rate drops sharply at a distance of 10m or more, in a state where it is difficult to see with the naked eye. Conclusion: This paper develops a model for detecting fire extinguisher objects in underground common areas, and the model shows high performance, and it is judged that it can be used for underground common area digital twin model synchronizing.
