An Inquiring Demand for Certification of Contract Foodservice Management Company by in-depth Interview and a Review about the System in a Related Field (심층면접(In-depth interview)을 활용한 위탁급식전문업체 인증제도 도입에 대한 요구 조사 및 관련분야 제도에 대한 고찰)

  • This study was performed to inquire demand for indroducing certification on contract foodservice management company(CFMC) and review about the system in a related field. The methodology was practiced an in-depth interview for grasping demand on certification of CFMC and composition on an appraiser group. Content analysis was reviewed about the system in a related field. Large enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises were positive opinion on a certification of CFMC and they suggested that education and research institution, industry, government, association will be included in appraiser group. The review about the system of a related industry was investigated by field such as similar product and service with restaurant industry, similar service with hotel and tourism industry. And similar purpose with a certification of CFMC was put in operation as PQ(pre-qualification) and selecting an adequate corporation in architecture industry. Therefore, a certification of CFMC should be tried to scientific introduction by objective verification.

  • Purpose: This study analyzed the general status and conditions of the kimchi industry in Korea. The purpose of this study is to contribute to the information of a desirable kimchi market by analyzing the distribution, price, market, and consumers of kimchi based on the current status and status of the kimchi industry in Korea. Research design, data and methodology: This study basically conducted research design and analysis based on theoretical consideration and kimchi market data. Results: The conclusion of the study is that in order to globalize kimchi, it is expected that a strategy to target overseas markets with relatively low competition through a low-salt diet and premium strategy along with the image of Western health is expected. Conclusions: In Korea, small and medium-sized companies can target the B2B (Business-to-Business) market first and then target department stores or convenience stores at a stable time in the future to expand sales channels and profitability through premium or low-cost policies. Another strategy is to target overseas markets as soon as the company stabilizes through B2B. Therefore, in the kimchi industry, it is necessary to establish a sales/marketing strategy according to what position and position of one's own company in the kimchi industry.

Business ethics education, employee perceptions of corporate business ethics, and organizational performance of apparel companies

  • The purpose of this study is to explore relationships between company's characteristics, the status of business ethics education, employee perceptions of corporate business ethics, and organizational performance. A total of 161 small- and medium-sized apparel companies participated in a survey and data was analyzed using cross-tabulation, ANOVA, and SPSS PROCESS. The results show that, larger companies involved with export are more likely to implement business ethics education, whereas no company characteristic is associated with perceptions of corporate business ethics. Furthermore, apparel companies that implemented or planned to implement business ethics education, have employees with more positive perceptions of corporate business ethics and better organizational performance than fashion companies that have no plan to implement such education. In addition, companies in the apparel sector with higher employee perceptions of corporate business ethics had greater organizational performance than apparel companies with lower employee perceptions of corporate business ethics. This study emphasizes the need to implement business ethics education to enhance employee perceptions of company business ethics, which in turn promotes organizational performance. It is expected that the results of this study will positively affect the development and expansion of business ethics education programs and contribute to the foundation of knowledge for business ethics education for fashion companies.

Medium-Small and Venture Firm Size Distribution and Trade Welfare (중소벤처기업규모와 무역후생)

  • This study is an empirical analysis of the welfare of small and medium venture company trade. In the past, although the study analyzes the trade welfare for representative firm, this research is focusing on the distribution of an entire industry of companies analyzed. In this study, medium-to venture enterprise-scale for logarithmic normal distribution and Pareto distribution is estimated, and this study investigates the trading welfare changes. Results of the analysis can be summarized as follows. First of all, greater trade benefits enterprise-scale heterogeneity appeared to be significant. The result of this finding appeared to be the same to large firms as well as small and medium ventures. Trading welfare, assuming the distribution of Pareto rather than logarithmic normal distribution it's supposed to be overwhelmingly large. Secondly, the case of large corporations shows the more trade welfare than that of small and medium venture companies. Third, assuming homogeneous distribution of enterprise-scale trade welfare differences did not exist. Finally, from the point of view of increasing the welfare of trade, the diversity aiming of venture business is a very important role in the long term, because of the small and medium-sized ventures trade role.

  • In response to the recent rapid technological and market changes, the importance of the design of ambidextrous organization has been increasingly emphasized as one of the dynamic capabilities. Firms that show a high performance in the rapid technological and market changes appear to design and implement ambidextrous organization successfully. They have achieved both exploitative competence for continuous innovation with product development and exploratory competence for discontinuous innovation with new market and new technologies. We have examined why and how to design and operate ambidextrous organizations and the effects of ambidextrous organizational characteristics on the performance from structural, contextual and leadership perspectives. We conducted case studies on 3 Korean firms that showed different characteristics of industrial product, company size, etc. Longitudinal case studies exhibit different processes of design and operating ambidextrous organization according to innovative strategy and industrial characteristics.

  • Recent public information project, which has been organized mainly to large companies is a situation that is being reorganized to small and medium-sized systems integration company. However, many of the small and medium-sized companies lack knowledge of the systematic risk management. Thus, in connection with the revenue, it involves a number of problems. Therefore, in this paper, we present a risk element that occurs mainly in the field of the project, providing a model for measuring the risk element by risk level costs associated with this. Through the convergence, we aim at providing a management system that is able to make the project successfully accomplished, predicting the risk that occurs in advance to pursue the project; Based on the proposed model, it is possible to secure a proper size of reserve fund so it is expected to enable companies to ensure the cost of risk analysis.

The Effects of Servitization Acceptance on Performance through Mediation of Service Process & ICT Competency (서비스화 수용활동이 서비스화 추진성과에 미치는 영향 : 서비스 프로세스 역량과 ICT 역량의 매개적 역할)

  • The purpose if this study was to find and investigate effective mediation factors influencing performance of servitization through servitization acceptance activities by means of empirical results. According to the previous researches, two main mediation factors which were related with servitization competencies such as ICT competency of servitization and competency of servitization process were distinguished from lots of competencies which are relying on servitization process. Using a 373 sample data investigated from CEOs, directors and managers of small and medium sized firms in Korea, the structured mediation model was proposed. The measurement for the each variable was accepted for this study when the respondents were revealed to understand the servitization concepts which explained especially company's business moving towards the service specific gravity from selling existing products. The measurement for the each variable reflected that respondents were participating in any sort of servitization type or had intension to be involved with any servitization categories. The mediation hypotheses were tested in the way of analytical measures with the result of strong reliability. According to analysis, two mediators showed positive mediation role and statistically adopted between servitization acceptance activities and servitization performance in the 99% significant level. We confirmed that ICT competency of servitization and competency of servitization process were in the role of positive mediation between servitization acceptance activities and performance of servitization. The total of indirect effects were 0.2546 to support each mediation hypotheses. Tested two mediators were not on the same level. The most affecting mediation element on servitization performance was appeared as competency of servitization process. With the result of this study, we expect that the small and medium sized companies might have servitization business strategies including proper service competencies and mediators through acceptance activities to obtain suitable performance. According to the analysis, Companies which consider product-servitization need to set strategies to reinforce above two competencies.

  • Amidst a competitive environment, success and innovation of a company hinge on establishment of competitive strategies through CEO's capabilities for discovering new businesses. In other words, several alternatives that are being considered as new businesses and the ensuing selection that a top management makes lead to a company's success and innovation. Examples of this are numerous among global corporations as well as Korean small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This research has analyzed the role of a CEO to be a condition for success in the growth and innovation of a company. Starting from the topic of entrepreneurship, the research on the role of a CEO has been actively conducted in context with the latest innovations. A prime example involves research related to the innovativeness of a CEO. In this regard, this research was an empirical analysis on the impact that a CEO's ability to discover new business opportunities and competitive strategies has on the performance of a firm. This analysis was conducted based on nationwide data of 286 large conglomerates and smaller-sized companies alike. Based on the analysis, "experimenting" and "association", among abilities of discovery, have been found to strengthen competitive strategies. Also in the context of abilities needed for discovery, differentiation strategy has a greater effect on a firm's performance than the cost leadership strategy. Furthermore, the mediating effect of competitive strategies was prominently displayed in experimenting and corporate performance.

The Analysis of the Differences in the SME's Perception about Industrial Technology Security Support Policy (산업기술 보안 지원정책에 대한 중소기업의 인식차이 분석)

  • Increasing uncertainties in the technological innovation environment and increasing technology competition also present new challenges in terms of industrial technology security. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to identify the direction of policy change necessary for the improvement of related policies in the future by examining the importance and implementation of the government's industrial technology security support policies for small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in industrial technology innovation activities. As a result of the analysis, first of all, small and medium-sized enterprises that responded to the government's industrial technology security support policy were perceived to be less performing than the importance of the program. These results can be said to mean that selective budget expansion for related policy programs may be necessary, along with efforts to improve the quality of each program. Second, an analysis of the differences in group recognition between new technology certification firms and industrial technology verification(certification) companies showed that significant differences exist between groups for the program. These results suggest that more effective operation of the relevant policies may require policy enforcement in consideration of the level of security and will of each company in industrial technology, as much as the quantitative characteristics of the entity. This study is meaningful in providing the necessary policy directional basic information for the design and execution of more specific and effective industrial technology security policies by presenting empirical research results that domestic small and medium-sized enterprises are aware of about the government's industrial technology security policies.

A Study on the Effects of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises CEO's Extroversion and Openness on Corporate Innovation Performance: Mediating effect of Innovation Behavior (중소기업 CEO의 외향성과 개방성이 기업혁신성과에 미치는 영향: 혁신행동의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the personal characteristics of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises(SMEs) CEOs, on innovation behavior and corporate innovation performance, and to verify the mediating role of innovation behavior. To verify the hypothesis of this study, a questionnaire was conducted on 264 CEOs and 563 top managements of SMEs in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. For the analysis of the investigated data, the research model and hypothesis were verified through correlation analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and SEM using SPSS and AMOS. The analysis results are as follows. First, it was found that extroversion, the personal characteristics of SMEs CEOs, had a positive (+) effect on innovation behavior, and second, openness to experience, the personal characteristics, also had a positive (+) effect on innovation behavior. Third, it was analyzed that the influence of innovation behavior on the innovation performance of a company had a positive (+) effect. Fourth, it was found that innovation behavior had full mediation effects in the relationship between extroversion and corporate innovation performance, but the case of openness to experience was not significant. Finally, the significance, implications, and limitations of the study were described, and suggestions for further study were presented.
