Sign system design for rapid evacuation in earthquake evacuation situations (지진발생 상황에서 신속한 대피를 돕는 사인시스템 디자인)

  • Most of the sign systems involved in evacuation are not useful in seismic situations where people have to evacuate with their heads bowed, given that they are at the top of the wall. Based on the analysis and understanding of seismic evacuation situations, this study proposes a sign system as a measure for rapid seismic evacuation. First, understand the seismic situation based on the video analysis of the earthquake evacuation situation. Second, the need for a sign system to help secure evacuation in earthquake situations was derived. Third, the on-site survey examined the suitability of the Sine system installed in Korea as an escape facility for the earthquake evacuation situation. Based on the video analysis and on-site survey, it was concluded that the installation of escape guidance lamps alone could not induce rapid evacuation in the earthquake situation. In this study, a sign system is proposed to help the use of doors by installing a sign system near an emergency exit light.

  • This study analyzed the 91 cases of the statements for the Sea Area Utilization Consultation according to the developmental projects of ports and fishery harbors for 2012 2014 and the status of the record of document, and suggested the improvement way to go. The marine environmental timpact assessment items both marine chemistry such as water quality, sediment and marine biology such as benthic animal, plankton, and fisheries show highly rate of site survey. But, the utilization of those data through site survey is too low, and it is necessary to adopt the QA/QC for the reliability of survey data. The items of marine physics such as tide, tidal current analyzed based on references not a site survey. However, the simulation performed actively without calibration and verification compared to the result of site survey. When the projects of port and fishery harbor perform, it is necessary to monitor the physical parameter such as wave, tide and tidal current especially. Based on the scale and the type of project, we need introduce the system of scoping for prediagnosis the key assessment items and checklists.

  • Safety accident rate of small-medium construction site is high. because of lack of safety management system, lack of safety management capacity, lack of investment for safety, Owner's insufficient awareness about safety. In order to improve this, Currently in Occupational Safety and Health Act, Construction site of amounts more than 300 million won less than 120 billion (architectural),150 billion won(civil) mandatory subject to the technical guidance on construction accident prevention. Context of construction accident causes with construction accident rate relationship analysis and case analysis of technical guidance, through a survey of stakeholders in the technical guidance drawn the problems of the construction accident prevention technical guidance system and ways to improve on this.

  • Appropriate management of the finish works in construction project is one of most important activities that must be conducted considering the total duration of the project. Masonry work is a fundamental process that is performed in the preliminary steps of finish works. However, it has been investigated that the analysis of delay factors affecting masonry work has been neglected in the domestic construction site. Therefore, this study deducts delay factors affecting masonry work by literature review and survey on site engineers and labors. This study has been conducted as a preliminary step of developing a construction project interference management system which is expected to suggest objective information for the decision making in construction sites.

  • For improving the flow capacity of pipeline system the hydraulic inspection method was developed conducting on-site with survey of pipeline facility such as diversion work, air vent, etc. and pipe network analysis. The pipe network analysis method determine pipe diameter with trial and error. The validity of the hydraulic inspection method proved adapting on S-district pipeline system.

  • Over a few decades, off-site construction (OSC) has been widely used for building and bridge constructions. OSC is a construction method that build structures at a different location than the location of use, and normally it occurs in a manufacturing plant. There are many studies on the perceived benefits of OSC, yet relatively few studies which quantitatively assess the benefits and factors affecting the decision of the use of OSC have been investigated. This study investigates the influencing factors of the use of OSC system and its revitalization solutions in the construction industry. As the research method, interview and questionnaire survey are conducted by visiting industry experts of OSC and sending a questionnaire to the OSC stakeholders including engineers, manufacturers, contractors and clients in the United Kingdom (UK). The construction industry of the UK is targeted for the study since it has a number of commons with the Korean construction industry in terms of the structure of the construction industry and current low take-up of the OSC. The survey provides the results that the reluctance of clients to use OSC is the key factor of the slow use of OSC despite of the perceived benefits of OSC. In addition, in order to revitalize OSC in the construction market, three revival recommendations are suggested based on the survey results.

A study on the design of customized coastal weather contents based on the demand survey with coastal industry fields (연안산업 분야별 수요조사를 통한 맞춤형 연안기상 콘텐츠 설계방안 연구)

  • In this study, the use survey of domestic and international weather information on coastal regions and the demand survey (e.g. general and in-depth surveys) for customer needs with coastal industries were carried out to design customized coastal weather contents. The general demand survey showed that most of the customers working in the coastal industries were interested in a short-term forecast, such as a general weather outlook (approximately 29% of the total respondents) and typhoon information (19%), and they preferred to be given the forecast information from new media such as the internet web-pages (36%) and mobile utilities (23%) rather than old media such as TV (16%) and radio (11%). In addition, only 31% of the total respondents were found to be satisfied with the use of the current coastal weather service. This low percentage might mainly be a result of lack of information accuracy (about 64%) and diversity (28%). From in-depth survey with site visiting, the need of coastal weather contents, such as weather elements, data form, a tool of communication, and forecast interval, differed with the working stages in three coastal industries (e.g. shipbuilding, maritime trade, and passenger transport industries).

  • Before GBAS ground systems is installed at the airport, the site survey is needed to determine the suitability of proposed GBAS candidate sites depending on the siting requirements. Therefore, analysis of GPS signal reception environment, one of the site survey steps, is required. In this paper, the number of visible satellites, GPS signal strength, multipath error, radio frequency interference and predicted availability were analyzed using the GPS data of Gimpo International Airport measured by PortaSAT equipments and the analysis results were represented.

Field Survey of Structural and Environmental Characteristics of Pig Houses in the Central Provinces in Korea (우리나라 중부지방 돈사의 구조 및 환경실태조사)

  • The structural and environmental characteristics of typical pig houses in different growth phases were surveyed and analyzed. Based on the data for thirty six selected farms in four provinces, Gyonggi-do, Gangwon-do, Choongnam, and Chonbook, in Central Korea, the goal is to eventually establish standard pig houses of sow and litter, nursery pigs, and growing-finishing pigs. The survey included farm scale, production specialization, structural dimensions of the houses and their ventilation systems, cooling and heating systems, and floor and pit systems related to manure collection. The survey showed 90∼99% of growing-finishing curtain installation rate was lower by 10∼20%. The sidewall curtain system, although popular, is not well insulated which leads to excessive heating costs in winter. Regarding flooring and manure collection system of the house, there was quite a lot variability among provinces, with 30∼80% of the houses installing scraper systems with concrete-slat floors in comparison with 30∼60% using a slurry system. Gangwon-do and Choongbook Chungwoo-goon are the predominant regions that installed a scraper system. A general trend toward enlargement and enclosure of pig houses for all growth phases was gaining popularity in most regions in recent years. A steady shift to three site production from a lumped system was also observed to prevent a disease transfer. The structural design of a standard pig house with its environmental control systems including ventilation and heating/cooling system was suggested for further validation study.   • In domestic, the Quality Management system of construction work has been compounded of the association of regulation which is ground for relevant law and operation of Quality Management system by ISO/KS A 9001(QMS) established by the contractor. Two quality guaranteed systems must be operated with complementary and integrated system, but we can not make full use of QMS of contractor and only run routinized quality management system in all construction project by the standard, methods, process provided in the law. These problems were demanded better condition in the past ten years, since the ISO standards have been introduced. Establishing preventive consideration of quality management by setting a goal of drastic quality guarantee is an urgent problem of construction industry. This study is quick to fellow, which should do three things. 1. The attitude survey related quality management of staff in charge in construction site has run. 2. Base on these results, we adjust satisfaction measurement about operation of construction quality management system. 3. Subsequently, we want to offer our thesis about advanced opinion for the next.
