Korean government has offcially decided to adopt global geodetic reference system(ITRF and GRS80) from 2007 keeping pace with the spread of GNSS. Industries related with LBS and telematics have called for use of the new coordinate system suitable for GIS/GPS applications. The government also defined the single plane coordinate system that covers entire korean peninsula as UTM-K considering DB-based framework data and user-friendliness, and its defects were corrected while being applied to the building of road framework data. The TM projection, and origin scale factor of plane coordinate system, 0.9996were employed in order to satisfy the single plane coordinate system for the entire Korean peninsula. For the origin of plane coordinate system, longitude of $127^{\circ}$30'00" and latitude of $38^{\circ}$00'00" were applied and, for the initial value of plane coordinate system, N=2,000.000m and E=1,000,000m were used. In addition to considerable savings in costs, it is expected that the UTM-K is applicable for correcting errors occurred during acquisition of geographic information and for aggregating map data produced by different sources. However, during the initial stage for introduction, confusion is forecasted due to the use of two different coordinate systems, which may be minimized by continued publicity and education.

Multi-planar reformatting(MPR) is a volume rendering technique which generates images of sectional planes users define, so that it is essential for medical imaging system. Due to the recent advances of medical imaging system, users require to place plural planes on a single dataset and to enable an individual and easy control for each plane. In this paper, we enumerate various user operations for recent MPR and analyze user requirements to update the plane equation. For the effective control of coordinate system, each plane is considered in a separated coordinate system and all informations which form a coordinate system are grouped into two components: the individual components and the common components. The proposed system is implemented on a graphics hardware, so that it smoothly performs MPR including recent requirements.

This study presents a procedure for analyzing chip-tool friction and shear processes in 3-D cutting with a single point tool. The edge of a single point tool including a circular nose is modified to an equivalent straight edge, thereby reducing the 3-D cutting with a single point tool to the equivalent of oblique cutting. Then, by transforming the conventional coordinate systems and using the measurements of three cutting force components, the force components on the rake face and shear plane of the equivalent oblique cutting system can be obtained. As a result, the chip-tool friction and shear characteristics of 3-D cutting with a single point tool can be assessed.

As a worldwide trend, the spatial information that is established by country, institution and purpose is integrated into the data with a single spatial reference to improve the data connectivity and usability. In this study, a new national single origin plane rectangular coordinate system was studied to efficiently respond to the changes in the spatial reference according to the introduction of a new national geodetic standard and to the demand of seamless data service in the spatial information sector. For this purpose, the Korean Peninsula was set as the projection region and the projection distortion in the projection region was analyzed. The projection parameters were defined to homogenize and minimize the projection distortion, and their standardization and registration on the international organizations were conducted. The study on the required optimal projection equation resulted in the Hooijberg projection equation and projection parameters (${\Phi}$, ${\lambda}$, K, N, E) resulted in $38^{\circ}N$ and $128^{\circ}E$ projection origin, and a scale factor of 0.99924. The proper false northing and easting were 700,000m N and 400,000m E, respectively, considering the introduction of country station index system.

This paper presents an algorithm to acquire 3D geometric information using a virtual plane method. The method to measure 3D information on the plane is easy, because it's not concerning value on the z-axis. A plane can be made by arbitrary three points in the 3D space, so the algorithm is able to make a number of virtual planes from feature points on the target object. In this case, these geometric relations between the origin of each virtual plane and the origin of the target object coordinates should be expressed as known homogeneous matrices. To include this idea, the algorithm could induce simple matrix formula which is only concerning unknown geometric relation between the origin of target object and the origin of camera coordinates. Therefore, it's more fast and simple than other methods. For achieving the proposed method, a regular pin-hole camera model and a perspective projection matrix which is defined by a geometric relation between each coordinate system is used. In the final part of this paper, we demonstrate the techniques for a variety of applications, including measurements in industrial parts and known patches images.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is set to transform patient care by enhancing data collection, analysis, and management through medical sensors and wearable devices. However, the convergence of IoT device vulnerabilities and the sensitivity of healthcare data raises significant data integrity and privacy concerns. In response, this research introduces the Smart-Coord system, a practical and affordable solution for securing healthcare IoT. Smart-Coord leverages blockchain technology and coordinate-based access management to fortify healthcare IoT. It employs IPFS for immutable data storage and intelligent Solidity Ethereum contracts for data integrity and confidentiality, creating a hierarchical, AES-CBC-secured data transmission protocol from IoT devices to blockchain repositories. Our technique uses a unique coordinate system to embed confidentiality and integrity regulations into a single access control model, dictating data access and transfer based on subject-object pairings in a coordinate plane. This dual enforcement technique governs and secures the flow of healthcare IoT information. With its implementation on the Matic network, the Smart-Coord system's computational efficiency and cost-effectiveness are unparalleled. Smart-Coord boasts significantly lower transaction costs and data operation processing times than other blockchain networks, making it a practical and affordable solution. Smart-Coord holds the promise of enhancing IoT-based healthcare system security by managing sensitive health data in a scalable, efficient, and secure manner. The Smart-Coord framework heralds a new era in healthcare IoT adoption, expertly managing data integrity, confidentiality, and accessibility to ensure a secure, reliable digital environment for patient data management.

A hybrid position/force control scheme to regulate the force and position by dual arms is proposed where two arms are treated as one rm in a kinematic viewpoint. The force error calculated from the information of two force/torque sensors attached to the end of each arm is transferred to minimum configuration space coordinates and then is distributed to total system joint coordinates, The position adjustment at the total con-figuration coordinates is computed based on the effective compliance matrix with respect to total joint coordinates which is obtained by coordinate transformation between the task coordinates and the total joint coordinates. The proposed scheme is applied to sawing task. When the trajectory of the saw is planned to follow a line in a horizontal plane 2 position parameters are to be controlled(i.e., two translational positions) Also a certain level of contact force has to be controlled along the vertical direction(i.e. minus z-direction) not to loose the contact with the object to be sawn. We experimentally show that the performance of the velocity and force response are satisfactory. The proposed hybrid control scheme can be applied to arbitrary two cooperating arm system regardless of their kinematic structure and the number of actuated joints.

In this paper, we propose a simple and efficient algorithm for head pose estimation using a single camera. First, four subimages are obtained from the camera image for face feature extraction. These subimages are used as feature templates. The templates are then tracked by Kalman filtering, and camera projective matrix is computed by the projective mapping between the templates and their coordinate in the 3D coordinate system. And the user's face pose is estimated from the projective mapping between the user's face and image plane. The accuracy and the robustness of our technique is verified on the experimental results of several real video sequences.

When a camera installed on a vehicle is used, estimation of the camera pose including tilt, roll, and pan angle with respect to the world coordinate system is important to associate camera coordinates with world coordinates. Previous approaches using huge calibration patterns have the disadvantage that the calibration patterns are costly to make and install. And, previous approaches exploiting multiple vanishing points detected in a single image are not suitable for automotive applications as a scene where multiple vanishing points can be captured by a front camera is hard to find in our daily environment. This paper proposes a camera pose estimation method. It collects multiple images of lane markings while changing the horizontal angle with respect to the markings. One vanishing point, the cross point of the left and right lane marking, is detected in each image, and vanishing line is estimated based on the detected vanishing points. Finally, camera pose is estimated from the vanishing line. The proposed method is based on the fact that planar motion does not change the vanishing line of the plane and the normal vector of the plane can be estimated by the vanishing line. Experiments with large and small tilt and roll angle show that the proposed method outputs accurate estimation results respectively. It is verified by checking the lane markings are up right in the bird's eye view image when the pan angle is compensated.
