The effect of different phytogenic feed additives on reducing odorous compounds in swine was investigated using in vitro fermentation and analyzed their microbial communities. Soybean meal (1%) added with 0.1% different phytogenic feed additives (FA) were in vitro fermented using swine fecal slurries and anaerobically incubated for 12 and 24 h. The phytogenic FAs used were red ginseng barn powder (Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer, FA1), persimmon leaf powder (Diospyros virginiana L., FA2), ginkgo leaf powder (Ginkgo biloba L., FA3), and oregano lippia seed oil extract (Lippia graveolens Kunth, OL, FA4). Total gas production, pH, ammonianitrogen ($NH_3$-N), hydrogen sulfide ($H_2S$), nitrite-nitrogen ($NO_2{^-}$-N), nitrate-nitrogen ($NO_3{^-}$-N), sulfate (${SO_4}^{--}$), volatile fatty acids (VFA) and other metabolites concentration were determined. Microbial communities were also analyzed using 16S rRNA DGGE. Results showed that the pH values on all treatments increased as incubation time became longer except for FA4 where it decreased. Moreover, FA4 incubated for 12 and 24 h was not detected in $NH_3$-N and $H_2S$. Addition of FAs decreased (p<0.05) propionate production but increased (p<0.05) the total VFA production. Ten 16S rRNA DGGE bands were identified which ranged from 96 to 100% identity which were mostly isolated from the intestine. Similarity index showed three clearly different clusters: I (FA2 and FA3), II (Con and FA1), and III (FA4). Dominant bands which were identified closest to Eubacterium limosum (ATCC 8486T), Uncultured bacterium clone PF6641 and Streptococcus lutetiensis (CIP 106849T) were present only in the FA4 treatment group and were not found in other groups. FA4 had a different bacterial diversity compared to control and other treatments and thus explains having lowest odorous compounds. Addition of FA4 to an enriched protein feed source for growing swine may effectively reduce odorous compounds which are typically associated with swine production.

Objectives : Due to the morphological similarity of in the roots of herbal medicine, the official herbal medicine is very difficult to authenticate between the original plants of Patriniae Radix and two adulterant Patrinia species. Therefore, we introduced DNA barcode analysis to establish a powerful tool for the authentication of Patriniae Radix from its adulterants. Methods : To analyze DNA barcode regions, genomic DNA was extracted from twenty-nine specimens of Patrinia scabiosaefolia, Patrinia villosa, Patrinia saniculifolia, and Patrinia rupestris, and internal transcribed spacer 2(ITS2), matK and rbcL genes were amplified. For identification of species specific sequences, a comparative analysis was performed by the ClastalW based on entire sequences of ITS2, matK and rbcL genes, respectively. Results : In comparison of three DNA barcode sequences, we identified 22, 22, and 12 species-specific nucleotides enough to distinguish each four species from ITS2, matK and rbcL gene, respectively. The sequence differences at the corresponding positions were available genetic marker nucleotides to discriminate the correct species among analyzed four species. These results indicated that comparative analysis of ITS2, matK and rbcL genes were useful genetic markers to authenticate Patriniae Radix. Conclusions : The marker nucleotides enough to distinguish P. scabiosaefolia, P. villosa, P. saniculifolia, and P. rupestris, were obtained at 22 SNP marker nucleotides from ITS2 and matK DNA barcode sequences, but they were confirmed at 12 SNP marker nucleotides from rbcL. These differences could be used to authenticate Patriniae Radix from its adulterants as well as discriminating each four species.

This paper derives the mutual relationship between film and installation art through specific case studies about the point of the intersection of the two genres. It needs to find the relationship between art painting and photography and the relationship of silent film and the relevance of the work of art in the 1920s. After painting over the installation exploring the relationship of art and through the mise en scene of the film, ie, the screen image of the configuration and deployment, or cinematic work of art for the film can be found in the application of practices. First, in Chapter 2, this study works of art practices through the analysis of film and the interaction between the two genres based practices for secure sex. In Chapter 3 the movie 'Wonderful Life' and installation art work "hand memory" through the analysis of the two cases specifically for the point of intersection analysis. 'Wonderful Life' and 'hand' Remember each subject and conceptual work in terms of 'memory' that it is represented on similar, but, film and installation art genre caused by the difference in the way the media represented by the results of the different forms of otherwise appear. If so, this study film and installation art practices through the comparison of cases to derive mutual relationship by analyzing two cases in detail what each of the different looks at whether any similarity in that.
In an effort to discover new technologies and to forecast social changes of technologies, a number of technology life-cycle models have been developed and employed. The hype cycle, a graphical tool developed by a consulting firm, Gartner, is one of the most widely used models for the purpose and it is recognised as a practical one. However, more research is needed on theoretical frames, relations and empirical practices of the model. In this study, hype cycle comparisons in Korean and global search websites were performed by means of web-search traffic which is proposed as an empirical measurement of public expectation, analysed in a specific product or country in previous researches. First, search traffic and market share for new cars were compared in Korea and the U.S. with a view to identifying differences between the hype cycles in the two countries about the same product. The results show the similarity between the two countries with the statistical significance. Next, comparative analysis between search traffic and supply rate for several products in Korea was conducted to check out their patterns. According to the analysis, all the products seem to be at the "Peak of inflated expectations" in the hype cycles and they are similar to one another in the hype cycle. This study is of significance in aspects of expanding the scope of hype cycle analysis with web-search traffic because it introduced domestic web-search traffic analysis from Naver to analyse consumers' expectations in Korea by comparison with that from Google in other countries. In addition, this research can help to explain social phenomina more persuasively with search traffic and to give scientific objectivity to the hype cycle model. Furthermore, it can contribute to developing strategies of companies, such as marketing strategy.

This study examined the clamping force control method and the braking performance test results of an electromechanical brake (EMB) using braking test equipment. Most of the studies related to EMBs have been carried out in the automotive field, dealing mainly with the static test results for various control methods. On the other hand, this study performed a dynamic performance evaluation. The three-phase interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) was applied to drive the actuator of the EMB, and the analysis was verified by JMAG(Ver. 18.0), which is finite element method (FEM) software. The current control, speed control, and position control were used for clamping force control of the EMB, and the maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) control was applied to the current controller for efficient control. The EMB's emergency braking deceleration performance was tested in the same way as conventional pneumatic brake systems when the wheel of a train rotates at 110 km/h, 230 km/h, and 300 km/h. The emergency braking time, with the wheel stopped completely at the maximum rotational speed, was approximately 73 seconds. The similarity of the braking time and deceleration pattern was verified through a comparison with the performance test results of the pneumatic brake system applied to the next generation high-speed railway vehicle (HEMU-430X).
In a traditional customer support environment, mainly call centers or service centers are responsible for receiving inquiries from their customers via telephone calls. Due to the rapid growth of Internet with its widespread acceptance and accessibility, means of communication with customers in the traditional customer support center, such as telephones, letters, and direct-visiting, have been replaced by e-mails and bulletin board systems (BBSs) using the Internet constantly. BBSs are basically question and answer systems, they require some lead time to get answer from administrator. To reduce lead time, BBSs enable remote customers or users to log on and tap into a knowledge database that is generally formatted in the form of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) that provide answers and solutions to the common problems. And, many different types of the questions are mixed on the BBS. It is a burden to administrator. To build FAQs and to support BBS adminstrator, a supporting tool which is to categorize questions is helpful. In this research, we suggest an interactive question categorizing methodology which consists of steps to present question using keywords, identifying keywords' affinity, computing similarity among questions, and clustering questions. This methodology allows users to interact iteratively for clear manifestation of ambiguous questions. We also developed a prototype system, IQC (interactive question categorizer) and evaluated its performance using the comparison experiments with other systems. IQC is not a general purposed system, but it produces a good result in a given specific domain.

Even if some CFD software developers and its users think that a state-of-the-art CFD software can be used to reasonably solve at least single-phase nuclear reactor safety problems, there remain limitations and uncertainties in the calculation result. From a regulatory perspective, the Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety (KINS) is presently conducting the performance assessment of commercial CFD software for nuclear reactor safety problems. In this study, to examine the prediction performance of commercial CFD software with the porous model in the analysis of the scale-down APR (Advanced Power Reactor Plus) internal flow, a simulation was conducted with the on-board numerical models in ANSYS CFX R.14 and FLUENT R.14. It was concluded that depending on the CFD software, the internal flow distribution of the scale-down APR was locally somewhat different. Although there was a limitation in estimating the prediction performance of the commercial CFD software owing to the limited amount of measured data, CFX R.14 showed more reasonable prediction results in comparison with FLUENT R.14. Meanwhile, owing to the difference in discretization methodology, FLUENT R.14 required more computational memory than CFX R.14 for the same grid system. Therefore, the CFD software suitable to the available computational resource should be selected for massively parallel computations.

Since boundary layer transition has a significant impact on the aero-thermodynamic performance of hypersonic flight vehicles, capability of accurate prediction of transition location is essential for design and performance analysis. In this study, γ-Reθt model is improved to predict transition of hypersonic boundary layers and validated. A coefficient in the production term of the intermittency transport equation that affects the transition onset location is constructed and applied as a function of Mach number, wall temperature, and freestream stagnation temperature based on the similarity numerical solution of compressible boundary layer. To take into account a Mach number dependency of transition onset momentum thickness Reynolds number and transition length, additional correlation equations are determined as function of Mach number and applied to Reθc and Flength correlations of the baseline model. The suggested model is implemented to a commercial CFD code in consideration of practical use. Analysis of hypersonic flat plate and circular cone boundary layers is carried out by using the model for validation purpose. An improvement of prediction capability with respect to variation of Mach number and unit Reynolds number is identified from the comparison with experimental data.
In this study, the net solar radiation fluxes at the surface are retrieved by updating an existing algorithm to be applicable for MODerate resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) observations, in which linear relationships between the solar radiation reflected from the top of atmosphere and the net surface solar radiation are employed. The results of this study have been evaluated through intercomparison with existing Clouds and the Earth's Radiant Energy System (CERES) data products and ground-based data from pyranometers at Gangneung-Wonju National University (GWNU) and the Southern Great Plains (SGP) of observatory of Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) site. Prior to the comparison of the surface radiation energy in relation to the energy balance of the earth, the radiation energy of the upper part of the atmosphere was compared. As a result, the coefficient of determination was over 0.9, showing considerable similarity, but the Root-Mean-Square-Deviation (RMSD) value was somewhat different, and the downward and net solar-radiation energy also showed similar results. The surface solar radiation data measured from pyranometers at Gangneung-Wonju National University (GWNU) and Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) observatory are used to validate the solar radiation data produced in this study. When compared to the GWNU, The results of this study show smaller RMSD values than CERES data, showing slightly better agreements with the surface data. On the other hand, when compared with the data from ARM SGP observatory, the results of this study bear slightly larger RMSD values than those for CERES. The downward and net solar radiation estimated by the algorithm of this study at a high spatial resolution are expected to be very useful in the near future after refinements on the identified problems, especially for those area without ground measurements of solar radiation.
