In this paper, in order to increase system capacity and reduce the transmitting power of the user's equipment, we propose an efficient power estimation consisting of a modified open-loop power control (OLPC) and closed-loop power control (CLPC) schemes for mobile/satellite communications systems. The OLPC works well if the forward and reverse links are perfectly correlated and the CLPC is sensitive to round-trip delay (RTD). Therefore, it is not effective in mobile/satellite system. In order to solve the above problem, we added monitoring equipment to both the OLPC and CLPC to use information about transmitting power that has not yet been received by the receiver over the satellite/ATC channel. Moreover, we adapted an efficient pilot diversity of both OLPC and CLPC in order to get a better signal to interference plus noise ratio (SIR) estimation of the received signal.
In this paper, we propose a pseudo-cepstral representation of line spectrum pair(LSP) frequencies and evaluate speech recognition performance with cepstral lift using the pseudo-cepstrum. The pseudo-cepstrum corresponding to LSP frequencies is derived by approxmating the relationship between LPC-cepstrum and LSP frequencies. Three cepstral liftering procedures are applied to the pseudo-cepstrum to improve the performance of speech recognition. They are the root-power-sums ligter, the general exponential lifter, and the bandpass lifter. Then, the liftered psedudo-cepstra are warped into a mel-frequency scale to obtain feature vectors for speech recognition. Among the three lifters, the general exponential lifter results in the best performance on speech recognition. When we use the proposed pseudo-cepstra feature vectors for recognizing noisy speech, the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) improvement of about 5~10dB LSP is obtained.

In seismic reflection data processing, the crossdip correction effectively focuses the stacking energy near the sharp bends of a crooked survey line. Additionally, approximate 3-D information on the reflector (e.g., true crossdip angle and lateral continuity) are locally investigated as a by-product of the crossdip correction procedure. Improvement of the signal-to-noise ratio and estimation of reflector crossdip attitude are tested, in terms of both common midpoint bin direction and processing-line type, using synthetic seismic reflection data. To effectively image the reflection energy near bends in seismic survey lines, straight-line binning is preferred to slalom-line binning.

In this thesis, to cope with severe intersymbol interference and nonlinear distotions of the digital magnetic recording channel a neural decision feedback equalizer (NDFE) and an adaptive neural equalizer (NE) are applied. The digital magnetic recording channels with various recording densities and different types of the nonlinear distortions are considered. The computer simulation shows that as the nonlinear distortion is increased, the neural equalizers (NdFE, NE) have advantages of approximately 2-4 dB in signal to noise ratio (SNR) over the onventional eualizers to reach sme bit error rate and, a sthe recording density is increased, 1~5 dB of SNR improvement are also gained. Especially the NdFE gives a superior performance over the other equalizers when there is a severe nonlinear distortion in the digital magnetic channel.

Backward compatibility is one of the key issues for radio equipment supporting IEEE 802.11, the typical wireless local area networks (WLANs) communication protocol. For a successful packet decoding with the backward compatibility, the frame format detection is a core precondition. This paper presents a novel frame format detection method based on a deep learning procedure for WLANs affiliated with IEEE 802.11. Considering that the detection performance of conventional methods is degraded mainly due to the poor performances in the symbol synchronization and/or channel estimation in low signal-to-noise-ratio environments, we propose a novel detection method based on convolutional neural network (CNN) that replaces the entire conventional detection procedures. The proposed deep learning network provides a robust detection directly from the receive data. Through extensive computer simulations performed in the multipath fading channel environments (modeled by Project IEEE 802.11 Task Group ac), the proposed method exhibits superb improvement in the frame format detection compared to the conventional method.

An accurate gain-of-two amplifier, which successfully reduces the capacitor mismatch error is proposed. This amplifier has similar circuit complexity and linearity improvement to the capacitor error-averaging technique, but operates with two clock phases just like the conventional pipeline stage. This makes it suitable for high-speed, high-resolution analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). Two ADC architectures employing the proposed accurate gain-of-two amplifier are also presented. The simulation results show that the proposed ADCs can achieve 15-bit linearity with 8-bit capacitor matching.
An efficient technique to trade off speed for resolution is the sigma-delta modulation (SDM). This paper proposes a new SDM architecture to improve conversion rates and SNR(Signal-to Noise Ratio) by using master clock and four divided clock. The charateristics of the proposed SDM are simulated in MATLAB environment. and optimizing the capacitor sizes is done by iterative processing. other analog characteristics are simulated using 0.65${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ n-well CMOS process, double poly and single metal. The result of simulation shows that more increasing the effective bits of internal ADC/DAC, bigger the improvement of SNR.

Coordinated multi-point (CoMP) transmission adopt the Base Stations (BS) cooperatively process User Equipment (UE) connected to multi-points to improve UEs spectral efficiency at the cell edge and eliminate the inter-cell interference (ICI). This technology is important for UEs at the cell edge. Considering the real environment, energy consumption and cost situation, we propose in a Local C-RAN architecture deployment of CoMP and observed its spectral efficiency and Signal-to-Interference and Noise Ratio (SINR) in intra-site CoMP scenarios. Simulation results show that this approach has significantly enhanced than Non-CoMP.

Data analysis methods in lock-in amplifier based DLTS systems were discussed with regards to the signal-to-noise ratio and improvement of resolution of DLTS spectrum. The DLTS system based on wideband two-phase lock-in amplifier is shown to be the most preferabe for the studies in deep levels of low concentration. A single-temperature scanning DLTS methods in lock-in amplifier based system with the improved sensitivity is proposed. The method is tested on the characterization of deep levels in n-GaAs.
To evaluation of clinical usefulness for B1+RMS limits, we compared image quality of Routine, Specific absorption rate (SAR) and Root mean square (RMS) protocol. 5 volunteers underwent Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan of the brain using three different protocols. We draw Region of interest ROI in cortex, white matter, gray matter, putamen and thalamus of axial plan. Signal to noise ratio (SNR) were evaluated in each area and Contrast to noise ration (CNR) were evaluated between white matter and gray matter. Qualitative evaluation was used to score each ROI. B1+RMS is confirmed its usefulness compared to conventional SAR standard on the aspect of improvement of image quality, reduction of scan time and easy adjusting parameter.
