The purpose of this study is to understand the feature and phenomena of women's costume in Choson dynasty by the approach of semiotics. In order to do so, F Saussure's linguistic symbol theory, C. Peirce's conception on semiology theory and cultural semiology of R. Barthes ware used as tool to analyse traditional women's costumes in $Chos\v{o}n$ dynasty. And I choose basic conceptions based on their semiotic theory. which were langue & parole. dennotation & connotation, paradigm & syntagm, code, and analysed. structure of sign, communication though the non-language. The fashion of the $Chos\v{o}n$ dynasty contains various meaning as sign symbol system and makes the communication possible as it is mentioned above. We nay understand the sign symbol system described in the fashion sign by analysing the structure and meaning operation of sign on the basis of social, political, and idealistic background of the times, to understand the polysemy quality of the fashion.

Although nano materials are used a lot in industries, there has not been any standard nano hazard graphic symbol. An experiment was conducted to know the comprehension ratio of newly designed eight nano graphic symbols. To compare the symbols with existing safety graphic symbols, other sixteen symbols were also included. 54 subjects evaluated the difficulties of graphic symbols on seven point Likert scale and answered the meaning for each symbol. The all eight nano safety symbols marked under 30% comprehension ratio. However, one of them didn't show any statistically significant difference with other existing safety symbols as like bio hazard, radiation, and laser. Therefore the nano symbol tested in the best could be adopted as the nano safety graphic symbol if it is sufficiently exposed in training period and used with warning label. The workers in industries using nano materials can be alerted and protect themselves where the sign is attached.

A DMT transceiver recovers the sampling time from reserved sub-carriers, the pilots. Since the pilots are available after the FFT, the symbol synchronization must be done before sample synchronization. In DMT VDSL system, symbol synchronization is handled separately from sample synchronization, although the two processes are intimately related. The DMT symbol itself contains sufficient information, the cyclic extension, for symbol synchronization. Using only the sign bit of received signal, the Maximum Likelihood Estimation solution is derived. The Tx windowing in the transmitter of DMT VDSL system results in the blurring of MLE peaks. We propose the weighted summing MLE method using the sign bit which produces the clearly sharp top of MLE peaks. The stability of symbol synchronization is improved significantly by averaging over a few symbols. This paper presents the study of the original MLE and the weighted summing MLE using sign bit. A clock difference between transmitter and receiver destroys the oahogonality of the carriers. Therefore, a receiver using asynchronous sampling must perform timing correction in the discrete-time domain. We introduce an efficient digital sample synchronization method which is based on temporal and frequency domain digital signal processing.

The People usually adapt themselves to circumstances and its changes. in some cases they are try to improve it for better comfortable living environment. However various factors such as a building's own character cultual symbolism cause some problems in creating interior environment because of inappropriate visual communication. It is general fact that the problems of visual environment objects have not been solved organically under the total environmental concept. In this paper I try to find out how graphic symbol sign system a visual transfer process between people and phsical environment facts work on creating interior environmental analysis current cases and propose a solution.

In this paper, an enhanced initial ranging algorithm for large-cell coverage fixed wireless communication system is proposed. In typical wireless communication system such as WiBro, because a round-trip delay between a transmitter and a receiver is within one OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) symbol duration, a frequency-domain differential correlation method is generally used. However, the conventional method cannot be applied due to an increase of a maximum time delay in large-cell system. In case of an accumulative differential method, estimation errors can occur because of frequent sign transitions. In this paper, therefore, we propose an algorithm which can estimate a total timing offset in a ranging channel structure for 15 km cell. The proposed method can improve performance by sign comparison based sign error correction rule between the estimated values and using a weighting scheme based on channel correlation, the number of accumulations, and the noise reduction effect in normalization process. Also, it can estimate the integer timing offset of symbol duration by comparing peak-powers after compensating for the fractional timing offset of symbol duration.

The purpose of this study is to define the fundamentals of one symbolic concept, so calles vestment-sign, based on the logical relationship of sign system about the trichotomy by charles S. Peice's sign concept for the communication system of meaning in the non-linguistic image domain. To prove the argument of vestment-sign, I selected 3 type of vestment language by styliste, Elsa Schiaparel-li. The third image vestmental chosen here, titled“Larme-Illusion(1938)”,printed by Salvad-or Dali will produce one symbolic proposition as a logical result which is generated and developed through the interpretation of other images. First of all the text, which is manifested by Elsa Schiaparelli's first image vestmental, tit-led“Notation Musical(1937)”and is symbolized as one category in the representation of the form, is regarded symbolic and metaphorical from a standpoint that the title and the meaning is connected to the form. The second image vestment, titled“Ruches Noirs(1938)”represents externally splendid feminity man-ifested by the symbolic and metaphorical expression. And the purity of sensitivity aiming to humanity in the detail of the poetic feeling of naturalism makes us imagine the battle fild of furious sensitivity. Like as the result of the battle, the third image stimulated our eyesight with the“absence”of dressing function. The proposition of the text,《Death》which the third image delivers, constructs sign system to bring up a meaning with the disappearance of physical“signifier”. This establishment of the symbolic concept presents the etymological authority of symbol generation called“Design”.

This paper proposes a symbol synchronization method in the IEEE 802.11a wireless OPDM system, which uses only signs of the in-phase and the quadrature signals in the short preamble. The short preamble is sampled with 2 tines of Nyquist sampling rate and both of the autocorrelation and the cross-relation are used in the proposed method. This method has some advantages that the ACG (Automatic Gain Control) can be processed concurrently during the short preamble and its implementation is not much complicated. The proposed symbol synchronization method is verified through simulations on frequency offset, multi-path and white Gaussian noise.

Che Guevara spearheading the Cuban Revolution was not only the icon as the revolutionary to the New-leftists of the 1960s advocating the ideology of Marxism but, as the cultural revolutionary, had a tremendous influence on the younger generation living in the digital age Che Guevara take on a figure of both the symbol of the Leftist but the romantic revolutionary because he had the external features such as black beret, red stars, military upper jackets and trousers, beard and pipe tobacco. In fact, the symbolic image of Che Guevara was made as the popular image by the avantgarde artists and political vanguard forces of the times under the necessity of Cuban government. Afterwards, the image of Che Guevara has been patronized in making people of aware of the resistant and revolutionary image to capital, power and the power of the media and symbolized as the resistant image to the American capital as well as the revolutionary guerrilla. And his image has continued to be reproduced and symbolized for the commercial and political purposes and as the enthusiastic image of youth culture. This can be seen as having been created as a new image by the popular culture formed by the development of the cyber culture and mass media in the cyberspace shaped by contemporary 'N' generations. The use of Che Guevara's symbolic image was made in the fashion field as well as in the cultural and artistic circles. The borrowing of the icon of Che Guevara represented in a fashion field is attributed to his free spirit, and it can be seen that fashion exists as the vehicle for representing both the symbol system and the sign system containing ideologies and texts as the communicator of resistance to the regime and to social issues. Therefore, this study attempted to investigate the commercial iconization of Che Guevara in the 1990s by comparing the ideology of the symbol in the 1960s and the 1990s and inquire into the borrowing of his image by the fashion domain as well as the fashion worn by him by reference to domestic books and materials on the fashion site. Thereby, this study attempted to make clear that the borrowing of Che Guevara in the realm of fashion since the 1990s not only contained the meaningful interpretation as the symbolic code in the culture of young people living in a digital era but fashion performs an intervening role in the cultural phenomenon.

We propose the new method for the traffic signs recognition that is one of the DAS(Driving assistance system) in the intelligent vehicle. Our approach estimates a varied degree by using a geometric method from the varied traffic signs in noise, rotation and size, and extracts the recognition symbol from the compensated traffic sign for a recognition by using the sequential color-based clustering. This proposed clustering method classify the traffic sign into the attention, regulation, indication, and auxiliary class. Also, The circular tracing method is used for the final traffic sign recognition. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method, varied traffic signs were built. As a result, The proposed method show that the 95 % recognition rate for a single variation, and 93 % recognition rate for a mixed variation.
