해운기업 선박조직과 육상부서 간의 커뮤니케이션과 갈등의 인식차와 조직유효성에 관한 연구 (The Perception Gap of Communication and Conflict between Ship Organization and Ship Management Team and Organization Effectiveness in Shipping Company)

  • 선박조직은 육상과 일정기간 격리된 상황에서 육상조직과의 커뮤니케이션을 업무를 수행하고 있으므로, 해상-육상간의 커뮤니케이션이 중요하다. 그런데 해운기업의 육상조직과 선박조직 사이에는 육상조직의 일방적 커뮤니케이션의 문제점과 부정적 결과들이 제기되고 있다. 본 연구는 선박조직과 육상의 선박관리 부서 간에 이루어지는 커뮤니케이션과 갈등의 문제를 선박조직과 육상부서 양쪽 집단을 대상으로 진단하고 분석하여 객관적이며 종합적으로 규명해 보고자 하였다. 해운기업의 선박조직과 육상 선박관리 부서간의 커뮤니케이션에 따르는 부정적 영향으로서 집단 간 갈등에 주목하여 커뮤니케이션과 집단 간 갈등의 수준과 갭을 측정하여 이들의 관계를 규명하고, 집단 간 갈등이 선박조직의 조직몰입과 직무만족에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 선박조직과 육상부서의 상대집단과의 커뮤니케이션 활성화 정도는 상대집단과의 집단 간 갈등에 통계적으로 유의미한 부(-)의 영향을 미치며, 상대집단에 대한 집단 갈등은 선박조직의 조직몰입과 직무만족에 부(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 양쪽 집단의 커뮤니케이션과 집단 간 갈등의 갭 분석에서 있어서는 커뮤니케이션이 모두 활성화되어 인식 차이가 적은 그룹에서 집단 간 갈등의 인식 수준이 낮았으며, 집단 간 갈등의 인식차이가 낮은 그룹의 선박조직 조직몰입도와 직무만족도가 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 해운기업의 선박조직과 육상의 선박관리부서는 양쪽 모두의 원활한 커뮤니케이션을 통해 상대집단과의 갈등을 줄이고 선박조직 구성원의 조직몰입도와 직무만족도를 제고하여야 할 것이다.

  • 본 연구는 선박조직의 의사소통에 있어서의 부정적 영향으로서의 집단 갈등에 주목하여 의사소통과 갈등의 관계를 규명해 보고 집단 갈등이 집단 구성원의 태도와 성과에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 분석해 보고자 하였다. 선박조직과 육상조직 사이의 의사소통이 집단간 갈등에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치고, 의사소통이 효율적으로 이루어질수록 육상조직과의 갈등은 줄어드는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 선박조직구성원 사이의 의사소통이 선박조직의 집단 내 갈등에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치고, 선박구성원 사이에 원활한 의사소통이 이루어지면 선내 구성원간의 갈등은 감소하게 되는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 선박조직과 육상조직간의 집단간 갈등과 선박조직내 구성원간의 갈등은 선박조직의 집단응집성과 조직몰입 및 직무만족에 부정적인 영향을 미치며, 집단응집성은 조직몰입 및 직무만족에 통계적으로 유의한정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

Automated Ship Reporting System in the Context of e-navigation

  • Ship reporting systems are used to exchange information between ship and shore. To realize the digital ship reporting concept, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) recently developed revised guidelines and descriptions of Maritime Service for ship reporting systems in the context of e-navigation. To improve the existing ship reporting system, each Administration should follow the IMO guidelines for ship reporting system. The purpose of this paper is to identify follow-up measures to be taken by the Korean Government as a member State according to the recently developed IMO guidelines in the context of e-navigation, and to present the considerations for the implementation of follow-up measures in Korea. In this study, a ship reporting system in Korea was investigated to identify the considerations for the digital ship reporting system. Consequently, a digital reporting system and digital traffic clearance were proposed and considerations for ship reporting system are presented. This paper is expected to be helpful for the safe operation of ships by presenting the considerations necessary for the implementation of an automated and standardized ship reporting system.

  • In December 2002, International Maritime Organization (IMO) has adopted the Resolution MSA.137(76) Standards for the Ship Maneuverability. For applying the standards, we have to estimate and evaluate the Maneuverability of a ship at the design stage in difference of trim and displacement as accurate as possible. In this paper, the effect of loading condition on the ship Maneuverability was investigated through 3 methods : numerical simulation, free running model ship and real ship data.. Firstly, We carried out numerical simulation, free running model ship experiments and real ship experiments at ballast condition, half loaded condition and full loaded condition with difference of trim.. Secondly, by comparing these results of 3 methods, we draw out the trend of ship Maneuverability due to the change of trim and displacement of a ship.

A Study on the Development of Educational Programs for LNG Bunkering in Consideration of the Safety System

  • This paper aims at presenting bunkering educational programs for LNG fueled ship taking into consideration existing similar education programs and safety systems at the international level in order to enhance both seafarers' and vessels' safety. Heavy fuel oil has typically been used as fuel of ship propulsion. The competitiveness of the fuel oil is recently getting weak in terms of cost and environmental aspects. Liquefied natural gas is introduced for ship propulsion in the maritime field as a new energy source replacing heavy fuel oil. In order to prepare for installation and operation of LNG fueled propulsion ship on board, International Maritime Organization has discussed this subject for about 10 years. As a result of the discussion on such ships in IMO, the International Code of Safety for Ships Using Gases or Other Low-Flash-Point Fuels entered into force on the year 2015. International organizations and several countries therefore drives actively entire researches and other businesses with a view to providing equipment and system of LNG bunkering. The systems are divided into ship-to-ship transfer, terminal / pipeline-to-ship transfer and truck-to-ship transfer. By adopting transfer system of LNG bunkering, many human resources will be needed in these areas on scene as well as on managing, operating, trading, finance, design of LNG bunkering industries. LNG bunkering is just in the beginning stage. Hence, this paper reviews and proposes professional educational programs of LNG bunkering in consideration of technical aspects of the safety system of LNG bunkering based on the types of bunkering systems.

자동차운반선의 선회성능에 미치는 풍하중의 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Estimation of Wind Forces Influence upon the Turning Ability of a Car Carrier Ship)

  • Since very large and high-speed ships have been appeared in marine transportation from 1970s, these ships with poor maneuverability have made large-scale accidents frequently all over the world. The IMO(International Maritime Organization) recommended that ship designers should evaluate various maneuvering performance at initial stage and serve them to ship operators when they deliver a new ship. Meantime, it is expected that ships with large and wide superstructure would have poor maneuverability when they are affected by strong wind. Therefore, car carrier ship with large superstructure was selected to confirm how the ship responds to the external wind forces in this paper. The lateral and transverse projected areas above the water level were considered and ship behaviors were checked by change of rudder angles under severe wind conditions of different directions. In addition, hydrodynamic derivatives and coefficients were predicted from ship particulars and numerical calculations were carried out with the mathematical model of low speed maneuvering motions.

  • In recent years emissions of pollutants from ship sources, especially NOx and SOx, is controlled by IMO(International Maritime Organization). The emissions of pollutants from ship sources in Pusan is considerably large, because the number of ship's coming and going in Pusan port is larger than that of other ports in Korea. Since Pusan is under the strong influence of land-sea breezes, pollutants emitted from ship sources will be transported into the inland. Control of emissions from ship sources is required to devise effectively the policy of air quality management in Pusan. Therefore this paper considered the present condition of total pollutant sources and emission characteristics including in coastal urban area.

  • The human being continued the processing of improvement for well being life according to scientific results The other hand, All the seaman life take the rest and sleep in ship's office and living room. In this case, many crew took the pain of back spain or deposit the his fatigue, This will be decrease the productivity owing to crew's back spain or fatigue etc. In this study researched the problem of ship's bed mattress and the principle of Well being air mattress in technical standard etc. Specially decreased some kinds of bacillus, germ and many kinds of bacteria by using of tourmaline which emitted the far red light and negative ion from surface of the mattress. We developed and applied the ship's Well being air mattress to off shore and various kind of ship by International Labour Organization convention 192.

Application of surf-riding and broaching mode based on IMO second-generation intact stability criteria for previous ships

  • International Maritime Organization (IMO) have recently discussed the technical problems related to the second-generation intact stability criteria of ships. The second-generation intact stability criteria refer to five modes of vulnerability when the ship sailing in the ocean. In this study, we described a method to verify the criteria of the surf-riding/broaching. In case that Lv1 (Level 1) vulnerability criteria is not satisfied based on the relatively simple calculation using the Froude number (Fn), we presented the calculation procedure for the Lv2 (Level 2) criteria considering the hydrodynamics in waves. The results were reviewed based on the data for given previous ships. In absence of ship-specific data, a similar Lv2 result was confirmed by comparing the result obtained by calculating the added mass with the case where the added mass was 10% of the ship mass. This result will contribute to basic ship design process according to the IMO draft regulation.
