SPCBC: A Secure Parallel Cipher Block Chaining Mode of Operation based on logistic Chaotic Map

  • Several block cipher modes of operation have been proposed in the literature to protect sensitive information. However, different security analysis models have been presented for attacking them. The analysis indicated that most of the current modes of operation are vulnerable to several attacks such as known plaintext and chosen plaintext/cipher-text attacks. Therefore, this paper proposes a secure block cipher mode of operation to thwart such attacks. In general, the proposed mode combines one-time chain keys with each plaintext before its encryption. The challenge of the proposed mode is the generation of the chain keys. The proposed mode employs the logistic map together with a nonce to dynamically generate a unique set of chain keys for every plaintext. Utilizing the logistic map assures the dynamic behavior while employing the nonce guarantees the uniqueness of the chain keys even if the same message is encrypted again. In this way, the proposed mode called SPCBC can resist the most powerful attacks including the known plaintext and chosen plaintext/cipher-text attacks. In addition, the SPCBC mode improves encryption time performance through supporting parallelized implementation. Finally, the security analysis and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed mode is robust compared to the current modes of operation.

균형불완비블록설계의 혼합효과에서 블록간 정보 (Interblock Information from BIBD Mixed Effects)

  • 본 논문은 균형불완비블록설계(balanced incomplete block design)에서 사영에 근거한 블록내(intrablock) 분석과 블록간(interblock) 분석을 다루고 있다. 블록간 분석을 위한 행렬모형을 제시하고 블록간 추정벡터를 구하는 방법을 다루고 있다. 처리효과의 블록내 추정벡터와 블록간 추정벡터의 분산공분산행렬을 규명하고 공분산행렬의 구조적 특성으로 두 추정벡터 간에 상관성이 없음을 보여주고 있다. 처리효과의 상관성없는 두 추정벡터를 이용한 결합추정에서 가중치를 구하는 방법으로 공분산행렬을 이용할 수 있음을 다루고 있다. 또한 처리효과에 적합된 블록변동량의 계산은 상수적합법을 이용한 블록제곱합과 일치함을 보여주고 있다.

  • We designed a track circuit of Tag in-tag out type that can be used for light rails and monorails. This method is called RFID-Tag and it literally uses RFID-Tag and replaces a fixed track circuit and implements a moving block. The distance between RFID-Tags is set to the length of a train and thus a train is always in contact with one of the tags. A train runs in RFID-Tag in -RFID-Tag out type at all times and the distance between trains can be precisely controlled through the application of a moving block combined with the basic principle of a fixed block, which enables the continuous speed control and enhances the satisfaction of passengers. When constructing a track circuit using RFID-Tag the Tag in-tag out brings us the cost reduction and is more economical than the existing fixed track circuit in that sense and easy for installation and maintenance. The wireless communication between onboard and wayside makes the continuous control possible and can improve the control capacity of ATP/ATO by the implementation of a moving block on top of a fixed one.

광주광역시 원도심 중심상업지역의 블록 특성 및 유형화 (Classification and characteristic of Central Commercial Area Block Development, Gwang-ju)

  • The purpose of this study is to categorize Commercial area by identifying characteristics of blocks and coding them in order to segment use zoning in Commercial area. The study was conducted as follows. Data from building register, cadastral map, statistics annual report are utilized to identify the physical environment of the block. four types used as code under the physical environment classification code which are classification code of physical environment, detail usage, volume ratio, and height type are set, and combine the classification codes sorted by the four types of code. Through the physical environment classification codes, there are currently 37 different block characteristics of the Old downtown Commercial area. Diversity is not reflected. There are only Central commercial area of regulations in Old downtown commercial areas that are uniformly managed. For the renewal, management and development that can occur in the near future, it is necessary to segment of use district in the commercial area. Consider the current situation and future development direction for the management of sustainable commercial areas. Management is required using physical environment classification codes. It is meaningful that it can be maintained, managed and developed in accordance with the characteristics of each block.

Rigid block coupled with a 2 d.o.f. system: Numerical and experimental investigation

  • In this paper the linear elastic coupling between a 2 degree of freedom shear-type frame system and a rigid block is analytically and experimentally investigated. As demonstrated by some of the authors in previous papers, it is possible to choose a coupling system able to guarantee advantages, whatever the mechanical characteristics of the frame. The main purpose of the investigation is to validate the analytical model. The nonlinear equations of motion of the coupled system are obtained by a Lagrangian approach and successively numerically integrated under harmonic and seismic excitation. The results, in terms of gain graphs, maps and spectra, represent the ratio between the maximum displacements or drifts of the coupled and uncoupled systems as a function of the system's parameters. Numerical investigations show the effectiveness of the nonlinear coupling for a large set of parameters. Thus experimental tests are carried out to verify the analytical results. An electro-dynamic long-stroke shaker sinusoidally and seismically forces a shear-type 2 d.o.f frame coupled with a rigid aluminium block. The experimental investigations confirm the effectiveness of the coupling as predicted by the analytical model.

  • 복합재 항공기 구조물의 설계 시 인증을 고려한 재료 허용치와 설계치의 설정이 매우 중요하다. 그리고 복합재 구조물의 재료 허용치와 설계치의 설정은 정적강도, 손상허용 요구 조건 및 환경효과가 고려되어야 한다. 빌딩블록 접근법은 오랫동안 민간 및 군수 항공 산업에 적용되어 왔으며 중요한 인증 방법론을 제공하였다. 현재의 인증 방법은 시편, 요소, 부구성품 및 전기체 시험을 포함하는 광범위한 실험을 기반으로 한다. 본 논문에서는 복합재 허용치 실험 사례가 제시되며 빌딩 블록 접근 방식의 중요한 배경 및 적용방법이 제시된다.

광진구 구민회관 및 구의회청사 조경설계 (Landscape Design of Community Center and Assembly Hall of Gwangjin-Gu)

  • This landscape design proposal was presented to a design competition for Gwangjin-gu Community Center and Assembly Hall. The site is located in 227-7 Jayang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul and is part a block designated as \`Kunkuk University Detailed Planning District\`. The judging criteria for landscape design set by the Gwangjin-gu could be articulated as follows: an identity of Gwangjin-gu, a relationship with surrounding environment, a locale as a community center of Gwangjin-gu, and an environment-friendly design. An identity of Gwangjin-gu was expressed by introducing lends and decks around the building which were transformed from the image of the old Gwangjin Ferry. The concept\` was strengthened by \`Nori-madang\` or Korean version of \`plaza\` which was designed by a motive of \`mungsuk\` or Korean old fashioned straw mat. An ambiguous relationship between the site and the surroundings was set by \`transparent exhibition frame\` which not only bleaks the massive Chungdam-daegyo, an elevated road, and frames it into small parts, but also attracts pedestrians toward the site-the \`park\`. Pedestrians from the adjacent\` Nengdong-ro Walkable Streets\` views the site through the many parts of frames. By introducing diverse resting and dynamic spaces for many kinds of cultural activities the site could function as a locale of the Gwangjin-gu community. The main paving system reflects the environment- friendly design. It was detailed by \`PC-block-deck-paving\` which was elevated from the ground so that rains could be absorbed.

영상 통신을 위한 웨이블릿 변환 부호화 (Wavelet Transform Coding for Image Communication)

  • 본 논문은 동영상을 효과적으로 부호화하기 위한 새로운 방법에 관하여 연구한 것이다. 움직임 정보를 이용하여 기준 프레임 영상과 상관관계가 적은 프레임 영상에서는 화질을 보장하고, 기준 프레임 영상과 상관관계가 많은 프레임 영상에서는 전체 동영상의 비트율을 보장하는 픽쳐 셋 필터를 제안하였다. 실험 결과, 제안한 동영상 부호화 방법은 기존의 전영역 탐색 블럭 정합 알고리즘에 비하여, 화질은 8.99dB이 향상되고, 압축률은 14.85배가 증가되었으며, 부호화시간은 74.9%가 단축되었다. 그리고, 차영상 알고리즘에 비하여, 화질은 24.87dB이 떨어졌으나, 압축률은 41.94배가 증가하였으며, 부호화시간은 0.9%가 단축됨으로써 좋은 성능을 나타냄을 확인하였다.

Improved Meet-in-the-Middle Attacks on Crypton and mCrypton

  • Crypton is a SP-network block cipher that attracts much attention because of its excellent performance on hardware. Based on Crypton, mCrypton is designed as a lightweight block cipher suitable for Internet of Things (IoT) and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). The security of Crypton and mCrypton under meet-in-the-middle attack is analyzed in this paper. By analyzing the differential properties of cell permutation, several differential characteristics are introduced to construct generalized ${\delta}-sets$. With the usage of a generalized ${\delta}-set$ and differential enumeration technique, a 6-round meet-in-the-middle distinguisher is proposed to give the first meet-in-the-middle attack on 9-round Crypton-192 and some improvements on the cryptanalysis of 10-round Crypton-256 are given. Combined with the properties of nibble permutation and substitution, an improved meet-in-the-middle attack on 8-round mCrypton is proposed and the first complete attack on 9-round mCrypton-96 is proposed.

Shipyard Spatial Scheduling Solution using Genetic Algorithms

  • In a shipyard, there exist various critical decision making components pertaining to various production hindrances. The most prominent one is best-fit spatial arrangement for the minimal spatial occupancy with better pick-ability for the erection of the ship in the dock. During the present research, a concept have been conceived to evade the gap between the identification oj inter-relationships among a set of blocks to be included on a pre-erection area, and a detailed graphical layout of their positions, is called an Optimal Block Relationship Diagram A research has been performed on generation of optimal (or near Optimal) that is, with minimal scrap area. An effort has been made in the generation of optimal (or near-optimal) Optimal Block Relationship Diagram with the Goldberg's Genetic Algorithms with a representation and a set of operators are 'trained' specifically for this application. The expected result to date predicts very good solutions to test problems involving innumerable different blocks to place. The suggested algorithm could accept input from an erection sequence generator program which assists the user in defining the nature and strength of the relationships among blocks, and could produce input suitable for use in a detailed layout stage.
