  • 한국과학기술정보연구원(KISTI)에서 운영하고 있는 국가과학기술정보센터(National Discovery for Science Leaders)에서는 논문, 특허, 연구보고서, 표준 등에 대한 원문제공서비스(Document Delivery Service)를 수행하고 있는데, 본 연구에서는 이러한 원문제공서비스를 다른 기관의 홈페이지를 통해 공동 활용할 수 있도록 OpenAPI를 설계하고 구현하였다.

  • This paper describes a model and system development for support an object-based scalability to provide adaptive MPEG-4 contents. One of the problem encountered by a multimedia service in heterogeneous network environment is the variation in the client's playback capability. Therefore, we provide technique which give an adaptability to MPEG-4 encoders so that make it possible to service adaptive MPEG-4 contents to a certain end terminal.

  • As a digital TV has outstanding features of being the most influential device in the living room and having the wide spectrum of users, several internet services has been ported on the digital TV platform (in the form of data services) in order to enhance their brand powers. Most of the services, however, failed to get a satisfactory results as the data services are defeated by the broadcasting contents in the competition for the viewer's interests. In the paper, the design guidelines that make data services not to compete with the broadcasting contents are proposed and a prototype of a data service that accommodates the guidelines is introduced.

  • The number of broadcasting channels and contents are increasing with the arrival of digital broadcast and various broadcasting medium. However, there is a limit on searching of the program by using conventional program guide. Therefore, personalized broadcasting service to provide the environment, that user is able to consume his/her customized broadcasting contents at anytime, is standardized by TV-Anytime Forum. Especially. the structure of data broadcasting contents have different from that of AV contents. Therefore, it is necessary to new structure of the metadata for personalized data broadcasting service and new mechanism for data flow of broadcasting system. In this paper, we introduce a method for personalized data broadcasting service using TV-Anytime metadata.

  • The SMS(Short Message Service) in Mobile phone is a service that a text message by 80byte is transmitted and received. Recently it's used instead of voice calls. In this paper, We investigate how you take advantage of the SMS for searching information without simply as a means of voice call, and how much efficiency does the SMS have in Location Information Retrieval Services on LBS(Location-based service). Based on the previous topics, we design the information retrieval system using SMS for solveing the rates issue by existing wireless Internet access, and propose the possibility as new forms of content services.

  • In this paper, we present a service model which serves multimedia contents to end consumer(End-user) that have various mobile communication terminals under a communication & broadcasting converged environment that broadcasting and communication networks are linked. A main feature of this service model is that it has a distribution structure that deliver to end consumer via adaptation of content from production of contents offering End to End (E2E) media QoS and personalized contents consumption. The proposed service model may be used as a reference model for distribution of multimedia content in communication & broadcasting converged environment in the future.

  • The Internet of Things (or IoT for short) which refers to uniquely identifiable objects and their virtual representations in an Internet-like structure is to be reality today. The amount of data on IoT is expected to increase abruptly and there are several key issues like usefulness interoperability between multiple distributes systems, services and databases. In this paper a methodology is proposed to realize a recently developed cloud service model, Contents as a Service (CaaS), which is contents delivery model referred to as 'on-demand contents'. In the proposed method, the global object identification, ePosition, comprising the structured form of two sorts of text strings with a separation symbol like # is applied to identify a specific content and registered with the content at the same server. It is easy-to-realize and effective to solve the interoperability problem systematically and logically. Some APIs for the proposed CaaS service are to be converged to provide some upgraded cloud service model such as 'CaaS supported SaaS' and 'CaaS supported PaaS'.
