  • This paper illustrates the application of co-occurrence theory to generate lightweight ontologies semi-automatically. The proposed model includes three steps of a (Semi-) Automatic creation of Ontology; (they are conceptually named as) the Syntactic-based Ontology, the Semantic-based Ontology and the Ontology Refinement. Each of these three steps are designed to interactively work together, so as to generate Lightweight Ontologies. The Syntactic-based Ontology step includes generating Association words using co-occurrence in web documents. The Semantic-based Ontology step includes the Alignment large Association words with small Ontology, through the process of semantic relations by contextual terms. Finally, the Ontology Refinement step includes the domain expert to refine the lightweight Ontologies. We also conducted a case study to generate lightweight ontologies in specific domains(news domain). In this paper, we found two directions including (1) employment co-occurrence theory to generate Syntactic-based Ontology automatically and (2) Alignment large Association words with small Ontology to generate lightweight ontologies semi-automatically. So far as the design and the generation of big Ontology is concerned, the proposed research will offer useful implications to the researchers and practitioners so as to improve the research level to the commercial use.

  • M2M (Machine-to-Machine) Technology makes it possible to network all kinds of terminal devices and their corresponding enterprise applications. Therefore, several M2M platforms were developed in China in order to collect information from terminal devices dispersed all over the local places through 3G wireless network. However, when enterprise applications try to integrate with M2M platforms, they should be maintained and refactored to adapt the heterogeneous features and properties of M2M platforms. Moreover, syntactical and semantic unification for information sharing among applications and devices are still unsolved because of raw data transmission and the usage of distinguished business vocabularies. In this paper, we propose and develop an M2M Middleware to support agile application integration with M2M platform. This middleware imports the event engine and XML-based syntax to handle the syntactical unification, makes use of Ontology-based semantic mapping to solve the semantic unification and adopts WebService and ETL techniques to sustain multi-pattern interactive approach, in order to agilely make applications integrated with the M2M platform. Now, the M2M Middleware has been applied in the China Telecom M2M platform. The operation results show that applications will cost less time and workload when being integrated with M2M platform.

  • Information about the formation and filling (in 2014 to 2016) of a terminological dictionary on electronics and radioengineering and collective work (in 2017 to 2018) with a data bank "TERMIN" is presented in this article. In purpose of creating an instrument of navigating the modern scientific-technical space a net of terms with set semantic links is described. This set is based on the analysis of terms' definitions (each term is checked for inclusion in the definitions of all other terms; the definitions were borrowed from reputable reference editions: encyclopedias, dictionaries, reference books). The created model of a system that consists of different information sources, in which it (information) is indexed by the terminology of Russian State Rubricator of Scientific and Technical Information rubrics and/or keywords, is described. There is an access for the search in all these sources in the system. Searching inquiries are referred to in the language of these rubrics or formulated by arbitrary terms. The system is to refer to information sources and give out relevant information. In accordance with this model, semantic links of various types, which allow expanding a search at different modalities of query, should be set among data bank terms. Obtained links will have to increase semantic matching, i.e., they can provide actual understanding of the meaning of the information that is being sought.

  • This paper explored the digital application of intangible cultural heritage from the perspective of cultural ecology. Through field investigations, combined with cultural ecology theory, an ontology-based semantic web technology was proposed, and Nanjing "Yunjin" brocade weaving technique was selected as the research object. The specific steps were as follows: First, based on the field surveys and cultural ecology theory, the intangible cultural ecological environment was divided into natural and social environments. Next, constructing the intangible cultural heritage ontology was constructed, including the collection and collation of Nanjing Yunjin weaving technique knowledge corpus, based on user needs analysis and corpus analysis, CIDOC CRM was used to create rules to build the ontology. Finally, based on the MediaWiki platform and Semantic MediaWiki, the semantic web model of the intangible cultural heritage was designed, and its semantic retrieval function was realized, thereby achieving the practical application of intangible cultural heritage digitization. Based on the perspective of cultural ecology, a set of intangible digital application models was proposed, which expanded the digital application of the cultural ecology theory, verified the application of this model in the sustainable development of cultural tourism, and provided reference for the sustainable development of cultural tourism.

  • In recent decades, the growth of communication technology has resulted in an explosion of data-related information. Ontology perception is being used as a growing requirement to integrate data and unique functionalities. Ontologies are not only critical for transforming the traditional web into the semantic web but also for the development of intelligent applications that use semantic enrichment and machine learning to transform data into smart data. To address these unclear facts, several researchers have been focused on expanding ontologies and semantic web technologies. Due to the lack of clear-cut limitations, ontologies would not suffice to deliver uncertain information among domain ideas, conceptual formalism supplied by traditional. To deal with this ambiguity, it is suggested that fuzzy ontologies should be used. It employs Ontology to introduce fuzzy logical policies for ambiguous area concepts such as darkness, heat, thickness, creaminess, and so on in a device-readable and compatible format. This survey efforts to provide a brief and conveniently understandable study of the research directions taken in the domain of ontology to deal with fuzzy information; reconcile various definitions observed in scientific literature, and identify some of the domain's future research-challenging scenarios. This work is hoping that this evaluation can be treasured by fuzzy ontology scholars. This paper concludes by the way of reviewing present research and stating research gaps for buddy researchers.

  • In this paper, we propose a new events ordering mechanism for the optimistic distributed simulation of DEVS models. To simulate DEVS models in a distributed environment, a synchronization protocol is required for correct simulation. Time Warp is the most well-known optimistic synchronization protocol for distributed simulation. However, employing the Time Warp protocol in distributed simulation of DEVS models incurs events ordering problem due to the semantic difference between Time Warp and DEVS, Thus, to resolve such semantic difference, we devise the time-and-priority-stamp and $\varepsilon$ -delay schemes. The proposed schemes can order simultaneous events correctly in Time Warp-based distributed simulation of DEVS models.Time Warp and DEVS, Thus, to resolve such semantic difference, we devise the time-and-priority-stamp and $\varepsilon$ -delay schemes. The proposed schemes can order simultaneous events correctly in Time Warp-based distributed simulation of DEVS models.

  • Intrusion detection techniques based on virtual machine introspection (VMI) provide high temper-resistance in comparison with traditional in-host anti-virus tools. However, the presence of semantic gap also leads to the performance and compatibility problems. In order to map raw bits of hardware to meaningful information of virtual machine, detailed knowledge of different guest OS is required. In this work, we present VDSM, a lightweight and general approach based on driver separation mechanism: divide semantic view reconstruction into online driver of view generation and offline driver of semantics extraction. We have developed a prototype of VDSM and used it to do intrusion detection on 13 operation systems. The evaluation results show VDSM is effective and practical with a small performance overhead.

  • Voice input is often required in many new application environments such as telephone-based information retrieval, car navigation systems, and user-friendly interfaces, but the low success rate of speech recognition makes it difficult to extend its application to new fields. Popular approaches to increase the accuracy of the recognition rate have been researched by post-processing of the recognition results, but previous approaches were mainly lexical-oriented ones in post error correction. We suggest a new semantic-oriented approach to correct both semantic level and lexical errors, which is also more accurate for especially domain-specific speech error correction. Through extensive experiments using a speech-driven in-vehicle telematics information application, we demonstrate the superior performance of our approach and some advantages over previous lexical-oriented approaches.

  • In order to compare two hypotheses on the origin of semantic interference effect that has been offered in the psycholinguistic literature, we conducted two experiments using the picture-word interference paradigm. When participants named the pictures of the objects simultaneously presented with distractor words, they were required to use either native words (Experiment 1) or loanwords (Experiment 2). The pictures were paired with three kinds of distractor words that were identical, semantically related and neutral to the picture. Two observations were obtained from two experiments. Firstly, the naming times of the pictures were more fast in context of the identical distractors than in context of the neutral ones. Secondly, naming times were more slow in the presence of the semantically related distractors relative to the neutral ones. These findings support the claim that semantic interference is based on a lexical retrieval conflict.
