Objective: The purpose of this research was to examine the effects of parents' childhood attachment representations and parenting behavior in developing early childhood self-regulation, a developmental skill. Methods: This research was conducted with 171 preschoolers, 171 parent couples, and 22 teachers of 5-year-old classes in kindergartens and children's houses in Seoul. Results: First, there was significant correlation among parental childhood attachment representations, parenting behavior, and child self-regulation. Second, parental attachment representations and parenting behavior were shown to affect self-monitoring, a subvariable of self-regulation, and were influenced by maternal independence-oriented parenting behavior, maternal attachment representation, and parental attachment representation. As factors affecting self-control, a subvariable of self-regulation, they were influenced by maternal attachment representation, and maternal and paternal affectionate parenting behavior. Lastly, as factors affecting self-control, they were influenced by attachment representation to parents of origin, maternal affectionate parenting behavior, and maternal independence-oriented parenting behavior. Conclusion: This research revealed that parental childhood attachment representations and parenting behavior are important variables affecting the development of self-regulation in preschoolers. This finding can be used as basic data for parent education content to help preschoolers grow healthier and happier and as basic data for a program to improve parent-child attachment.
Purpose: This study investigated the effects of nursing organizational culture and self-leadership on job satisfaction for nurses working in the comprehensive nursing care service ward in public hospitals. Methods: The participants were 138 nurses working in Gyeonggi-do medical center. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and regression analysis with SPSS/WIN 23.0. Results: Factors affecting job satisfaction were innovation-oriented culture (${\beta}=.29$, p<.001), want to work in this department (${\beta}=-.25$, p<.001), the cognitive strategy of self-leadership (${\beta}=.23$, p=.002), hierarchical-oriented culture (${\beta}=-.21$, p=.002), and marital status (${\beta}=.18$, p=.005). These factors accounted for 42.0% of the variability in job satisfaction. Conclusion: In order to improve the job satisfaction of nurses in the comprehensive nursing care service ward in public hospitals, institutional-level efforts should be made to encourage an innovation-oriented culture and avoid a hierarchy-oriented culture. In addition, education and program development are needed to improve the cognitive strategy of self-leadership.
The demand of rural tourism industry has increased among the urbanites in South Korea, in due to the increase of leisure activity and the emergence of ageing society. Rural amenity resources are gaining various interests, in the value creation and promotion of tourism. In this study, the propensities of city dwellers were separated by life-style classification, and each affinity to the rural amenity resources was examined in accordance with the separation. A questionnaire survey of urbanites in the southern area of Gyeonggi-do, the most populous province in South Korea, was conducted to analyze the preference of city dwellers about rural amenity resource and life-style of themselves. For statistical verification, $IBM^{(R)}$$SPSS^{(R)}$ Statistics 20 software was used for frequency, reliability, factor and multiple regression analysis of this research. The results of the statistical analyses found a noticeable characteristic in life-style classification. The affinities of urbanites can be classified into four congregations of life-style factors in this statistical model. Each congregation of the factors was named as 'Self-development-oriented', 'Leisure-oriented', 'Achievement-oriented', and 'Culture-oriented' life-style, to represent the characteristics for convenience' sake. Among these styles, only 'Self-development-oriented' and 'Achievement-oriented' showed the positive correlation with rural amenity resources in the multiple regression analysis. In addition, the rural amenity resources were also analyzed in accordance with the life-styles classification of urbanites. City dwellers showed the highest interest to the 'natural resource management facility resource' in natural resources, the 'traditional heritage resource' in cultural resources, and the 'community resource' in social resources. Meanwhile, they showed less interest to 'agricultural and scenery resources' in natural resources, 'specialty production resource' in cultural resources, and 'cooperative farming' in social resources. These characteristics can be constructed as meaning that the urbanites who concern self-development and achievement of their lives have high interest in rural amenity resources, and the main interest of them is not 'return-to-the-farm'(歸農) but 'return-to-the-home'(歸村).
This study compared levels of health beliefs and health behavior practices according to lifestyle pattern among adults in Seoul. A self-administered survey questionnaire was collected from a total of 1,004 Seoul residents aged 30-59 years. The levels of perceived benefit, perceived barrier, and self-efficacy from health belief model and health behavior practices were measured across multiple health behavior areas including dietary behavior, drinking, smoking, exercise, functional food consumption, and weight control behavior. Factor analysis and subsequent cluster analysis based on 28 lifestyle questions divided the subjects into four lifestyles of society-, economy-, trend-, and health-oriented lifestyle. Some general characteristics were significantly different by lifestyles. The society-oriented lifestyle was significantly higher in proportions of men and overweight. The trend-oriented lifestyle was significantly younger and spent more monthly allowance. Health-oriented lifestyle was older. The levels of health belief variables and health behavior practices significantly differed by lifestyles. Overall the health-oriented lifestyle showed more desirable levels of health belief variables and health behavior practice in various health behavior areas compared to the other lifestyles, whereas the society-oriented lifestyle was found the other way. Health belief model variables including perceived benefit, perceived barrier, and self-efficacy were generally significant in predicting the levels of various health behavior practice, with somewhat differences by lifestyle pattern and health behavior type. The study findings suggest it may be useful to segment target subjects according to lifestyle pattern in planning and administering health education programs.

Purpose: This study observes the degrees of perfectionism (both self-oriented and socially-prescribed perfectionism), academic resilience, and satisfaction with major in nursing students and identifies the influence of perfectionism and academic resilience on satisfaction with major. Methods: Data from 115 second or third-year students in a nursing were collected for two months at different three universities. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and hierarchical multiple regression. Results: Satisfaction with major was higher for second year students compared to third year students. And the satisfaction was higher for those with a higher Grade point average (${\geq}_-3.5$) compared to those with a lower. Self-oriented perfectionism had a higher score than socially-prescribed perfectionism and academic resilience based on self-control was rated the highest score of the subcategories. The degree of satisfaction was positively correlated with Self-oriented perfectionism and academic resilience. The final regression model showed that grade and academic resilience accounted for 34.2% of the variance in predicting the level of satisfaction with major. Conclusion: The results suggest that it is crucial to find a strategy that could enhance academic resilience, especially designed for upper-year university students, to improve the level of satisfaction with major.
The purpose of this paper is to describe and understand the lived experiences of older learners in formal education offered in an online university. Applying qualitative research methods, this paper attempts to explore the interpretation and meanings of their college studying. Ten participants in this study were selected from older students aged over 60 who had studied or were studying in a cyber university and lived in Seoul and its metropolitan area for more readily accessible and available for in-depth interviews. After the final analysis of learning experiences of older adults in an online university, six main themes were identified: self in the past, breaking from the convention, struggling with the new challenges, attaining self-actualization, integrating a new identity, future-oriented self. Finally it appears that learning experiences of the learners enabled the participants to replace their past-oriented sense of self with a more positive, future-oriented version.

From a social psychological perspective, Make-up is an tool for run a lot smoother and perform communication efficiently. Many people give a turn to hair color through dyeing form due to yearning to change individual image through the image which the color is having. This paper study how make-up behavior, hair color and self-consciousness will affect the Level of Expected social-psychological effect of College Girl Students. In the sense of make-up behavior, according to result, a group of make-up behavior of self-satisfaction-oriented the level of expected social-psychological effect higher than a group of make-up behavior of tradition-oriented. Hair colors doesn't seem to be having much effect on the level of expected social- psychological effect, but have been shown to influence make-up behavior and self-consciousness. On the self-consciousness, a group of high self-consciousness the level of expected social-psychological effect higher than a group of low or fair self-consciousness. They doesn't have much effect passive expected effect as 'complement of self insufficiency' or 'a person consciousness' But they are affect active expected effect as 'the pleasure of change' and 'positive ascent'.
The purpose of this study was to examine the developmental changes about self-perception from childhood to adult period. The subjects were 365 of 5th graders in elementary school, the 2nd graders in junior and senior high school, sophomore in college, and adults. The instruments used for this study were Harter's Self-Perception Profile for the children, adolescences, college students, and adults. The results were as follows. 1. From elementary school to junior high school, the score of scholastic, athletic, physical appearance, behavioral conduct, and global self-worth were decreased. At the developmental perspective, the junior high school students were highly anxious for self-perception. 2. Physical appearance were the best predictor of the global self-worth for all developmental stages. 3. Physical appearance, behavioral conduct predicted more about the global self-worth than any other factors for elementary and junior high school students. And for junior high school students, social acceptance and friendship also predicted about the global self-worth. Scholastic competence showed higher correlation with global self-worth for the senior high school and college students than elementary and junior high school students. 4. For college students, males had higer scores than females on ability-oriented but also relationship-oriented subscales. But the adults showed no differences in nurturance, household management, job competence depending on sex.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the influence of nursing organization culture on resilience of new nurses. Methods: Participants were 1,033 new nurses with careers of less than 12 months and who were from 43 general hospitals located in Seoul, Incheon, other metropolitan cities and provinces in Korea. The data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression with SPSS/WIN 24.0 program. Results: Relation-oriented culture was scored highest for perception of organizational culture by new nurses (3.35), followed by hierarchy-oriented culture (3.19), innovation-oriented culture (3.12), and task-oriented culture (2.73). The score for resilience of the new nurses was 3.49, and the first subcategories were interpersonal relationship ability 3.66, self-positivity 3.45, and self-control ability 3.36. Relation-oriented culture (${\beta}=.30$, p<.001) was the most significant factor influencing resilience of new nurses, followed by innovation-oriented culture (${\beta}=.14$, p=.001), hierarchy-oriented culture (${\beta}=.12$, p<.001), task-oriented culture (${\beta}=-.10$, p=.003) in that order ($R^2(adj. R^2)=.16$, F=47.04, p<.001). Conclusion: Findings show that for improved resilience in new nurses it is necessary to develop relation-oriented culture to provide a cooperative work environment(friendly interpersonal relation and dialogue) for new nurses and to encourage involvement of these members in the hospital culture.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to classify early childhood educators' perfectionism types and to identify differences in teacher self-efficacy and teachers burnout according to the types of perfectionism. Methods: The participants of this study were 309 teachers working at early childhood education centers in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, Daejeon, Se-jong, Kim-Cheon, and Hong-Sung, South Korea. Early childhood educators were surveyed regarding perfectionism, teacher self-efficacy and teacher burnout. The collected data were analyzed using K-means cluster analyses and analysis of covariance. Results: Cluster analyses with self-oriented perfectionism and other-oriented perfectionism as cluster variables resulted in three types of perfectionism among early childhood educators; 'self-other directed perfectionism(33.0%)', 'other directed perfectionism(35.0%)' and 'non perfectionism(32.0%)'. Educators with self-other directed perfectionism reported higher teacher self-efficacy and lower teacher burnout than educators with other directed perfectionism or with non perfectionism. Conclusion/Implications: Early childhood educators' perfectionism may be a significant personality trait linked to quality of education and care in real education settings.
