  • To produce highly creative students, engineering education must develop both problem recognition skills and the ability to solve problems independently. Chonnam National University has been developing a creativity program in which students identify and solve problems themselves. Initially, the primary focus was on solving problems, but this was unsuccessful at attracting the students' interest. To overcome this, we adopted Csikszentmihalyi's flow theory in our creativity program, much like the way this theory is used in computer games. As a result of adopting flow theory, we achieved our goal. Thus, in this paper, we will introduce Chonnam National University's creativity program (designed based on flow theory), which we will call the Self-Directed Creativity-Upgrade Program. Furthermore, we will discuss the impact of this program based on statistical analyses.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine effects of a dietary program based on self-efficacy theory on dietary adherence, physical status and quality of life (QoL) in hemodialysis patients. Methods: A non-equivalent control group pre-post test design was used. The intervention group received the dietary program for 8 weeks from August 4 to September 26, 2014. The control group received only usual care. Results: ANCOVA showed that dietary adherence (F=64.75, p <.001) was significantly different between the two groups. Serum albumin (F=12.13, p =.001), interdialytic weight gain (F=56.97, p <.001), calories (F=15.80, p <.001) as physical status indices were significantly different, but serum potassium (F=2.69, p =.106) and serum phosphorus (F=1.08, p =.303) showed no significant difference between the two groups. In terms of health-related QoL, the physical component scale (F=10.05, p =.002) and the mental component scale (F=16.66, p <.001) were significantly different between the two groups. In addition, in terms of diet related QoL, diet level (F=35.33, p <.001) and satisfaction level (F=15.57, p <.001) were significantly different between the two groups, but dietary impact level (F=1.23, p =.271) was not significantly different. Conclusion: Findings show that the dietary program based on self-efficacy theory is an effective nursing intervention program to improve adherence to diet, and to maintain physical status and QoL for hemodialysis patients.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating role of self-efficacy and community consciousness in the relationship between volunteer activity experience and career decision level of university students majoring in social welfare. For this purpose, this study set up a research model based on the social cognitive career theory based on Keumboltz's social learning theory and Bandura's social cognitive theory. 260 students majoring in social welfare at three four-year universities in Chungcheongbuk-do were assigned and surveyed from September to October 2019. The multiple regression analysis was conducted to verify the correlation analysis and the mediating effect using SPSS 26.0. The results of the analysis showed that the volunteer activity experience of college students majoring in social welfare had a significant effect on the career decision level, and self-efficacy and community consciousness had a partial mediating effect on these relationships. Based on the results of this analysis, the intervention and follow-up studies for improving career decision level of university students majoring in social welfare were discussed.

  • This study tests the effects of differential association, definitions, differential reinforcement and imitation from social learning theory in the explanation of university students' crimes in social network services. In addition, this study tests the interaction effects between social learning factors and other factors such as low self-control, subcultural environment, and crime opportunity for the integrated approach. Using data from 486 university students in Seoul, results show that both definition and imitation have significant influences on crimes, even though differential association and differential reinforcement factors have no significant influences on crimes in social network services. Results also reveal that there are significant interaction effects between definition and subcultural environment, which meana that definition has a strong effect on crimes in high subcultural environment. In addition, it is found that reinforcement has also a strong effect on crimes in high crime opportunity and that interaction effect between imitation and low self-control is significant, which means that imitation has a strong effect on crimes in low self-control students.

  • In this paper, our goal is to examine the factors of user's satisfaction and information sharing in Social Network Services(SNS). Based on the theoretical framework like attachment theory and self-presentation theory, we develop and test a theoretical model, propose hypotheses and analyze the effects of emotional attachment and self-presentation on the satisfaction and information sharing of SNS users. For this research, questionnaire survey was conducted with literature study and the PLS(Partial Least Square) was used to analyze the measurement model and hypotheses testing. The PLS analysis results indicate that emotional attachment affects SNS users' satisfaction and information sharing. Further, information sharing is influenced by self-presentation of SNS users. Practical implications of these findings and future research implications are also discussed.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the influence of the cognitive process related to the organizational citizenship behavior. The research method consisted of the cross-design of the prospect dimension and goal orientation dimension, and information security factors consisted of distributive justice, response efficacy, self efficacy, and organizational citizenship behavior. As a result of the study, the dimension of prospect had a significant effect on response efficacy and self efficacy, and it was found that the influence of the gain condition was greater than that of the loss condition. The goal orientation dimension had a significant effect on response efficacy and self efficacy, and it was found that the influence of the growth condition was greater than that of the validation condition. The research model that explained the relationship between information security factors appeared as a partial mediating model between distributive justice, response efficacy, and organizational citizenship behavior. The implications of this study suggest that it is necessary to establish an information security strategy in combination with individual decision-making factors and organizational culture factors.

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to identify the factors affecting the practice of COVID-19 infection preventive behaviors in university students focusing on the extended health beliefs model (HBM) and the theory of planned behavior (TPB). Methods: Data was collected from November 1, 2021 to November 30, 2021. The participants were 180 university students at 3 universities. The data was analyzed through the independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression by using SPSS/WIN 24.0. Results: In the first stage of hierarchical regression analysis, it was shown that perceived barrier and self-efficacy, among the HBM variables, were significant factors, explaining 18.4% of the infection preventive behaviors (F=7.73, p<.001). In the 2nd stage, it was shown that self-efficacy, among the TPB variables, was a significant factor, explaining 15.3% of the infection preventive behaviors (F=11.80, p<.001). In the 3rd stage, it was shown that perceived barrier and self-efficacy, among the HBM and TPB variables, were significant factors, explaining 18.5% of the infection preventive behaviors (F=6.08, p<.001). Conclusion: When an effective infection preventive behavior program is developed and provided for students to improve their self-efficacy and reduce perceived barrier based on the results, it will contribute to the improvement of infection prevention behaviors among university students.

  • This study aimed to investigate the potential of Art Therapy to be part of Liberal Arts programs for university students. The study is based on the examination of the effect after the program. The program was combined with Art Therapy theory and with a practical part for students to have a psychological understanding of self development(ego-identity, self-esteem and interpersonal relationship). The subjects were 38 students who were registered in the Art Therapy course at N university. It was a two hour-course and was offered every week. The first 40 minutes of the class were used for explaining Art Therapy theory, and the last 80 minutes were given for practice. To analyze the effect of the program, the index of ego-identity, the index of self-esteem and the index of interpersonal relationship were used. Frequency, percentage and standard deviation were calculated with SPSS 12.0, and a paired t-test was followed. According to the results, this art therapy program has an effect on the subjectivity and future-confidence of students, which includes the sub-categories of self-identity. However, there was no effect found in the category of self-esteem. Comprehension, which is under the interpersonal relationships category, showed statistically meaningful differences after the program was done. Based on this study, it was revealed that Art Therapy as a part of the Liberal Arts programs, which incorporates a large number of students, can have a similar effect on people compared to the Group Art Therapy, which incorporates a relatively smaller number of people.
