  • We propose a novel method to extract keyframes from home videos based on the 5W and 1H information. Keyframe extraction is a kind of video summarization which selects only specific frames containing important information of a video. As a home video may have content with a variety of topics, we cannot make specific assumptions for information extraction. In addition, to summarize a home video we must analyze human behaviors, because people are important subjects in home videos. In this paper, we extract 5W and 1H information by analyzing human faces, human behaviors, and the global information of background. Experimental results demonstrate that our technique extract more similar keyframes to human selections than previous methods.

  • It takes a lot of time or is even impossible to communicate for people with physical disability and/or speech impairment. Augmentative and Alternative Communication System is an important computerized tool that makes it possible for those people to communicate. Since not only speech impaired people, but also people with other physical disability cannot use conventional computer input devices easily such as keyboard and mouse, so more simple input devices are need for them to communicate. Thus, in this paper, I designed and implemented a communication aid system, with which they can communicate with simple inputs. I collected frequently used sentences by people with disability and categorized them into 9 everyday language groups. With these categories, they can select any sentence with few simple selections. If none of these categories includes the sentences they want, ChunJiIn keyboard is provided so that they can input the sentences, which can be added to the existing language groups for later use. The priority levels of the sentences in each group is constantly readjusted based on usage frequency so that the number of inputs can be reduced.

  • This stady was carried out to define Gifted student for science, model for selection, the tools and methods and related theory for the selection of the Gifted students for the science in primary school level. Also the developed tools and materials are applied to student and analysed the results to generalize the methods for the selection of Gifted students for science. The definition of Gifted students for science was carried out by the three-ring conception model by Renzulli(1982) and Lee long-Sung which defined the characteristics as three parts such as above average ability, creativity and tesk comitment. The Gifted students for science upper 2 percent which have three characteristics at the same times, namely overlapping three characteristics. The model for the selection of Gifted students consist of four step; such as screeing, selection, differentiation, judgement. The materials for the selection are input at each stage, analysed the results and standard for the selection are made. In the first stage screening, 202 students are selected from the 5060 of 4th and 5th graders according to their achievment, intellecture ability and observation of students activity. In second selection and third differentiation stage, 65 students are seletted according to their achievement In this study it is approved that the Gifted students in science have to be selection by various test such as achievement, intellectual ability, aptitude in science, inquiry activity, manual skill etc, rather rather then simple test such as achievement and intellecture ability. Also it is important to select upper 2 percent who have general abilites overlapping three characteristics mentioned in definition of Gifted students in science and selections model

  • Alveolar bone changes after immediate loading on implants up to one year were observed by means of standard intraoral X-ray measurement which were taken at 3 month intervals. At the same time, bone density changes were observed according to digital subtraction method which is a becoming a more and more promising diagnostic tool for implants. Following results were obtained ; 1. There was no significant difference in the amount of alveolar bone loss implant type, sex and implant diameter, but there was difference according to case selection. In fully bone anchored prostheses cases, bone loss was $1.16{\pm}0.15m$ whereas, in partial edentulous cases, it was $1.84{\pm}0.08mm$. 2. Alveolar bone loss after immediate loading showed a higher degree of bone loss than after submerged loading in the initial three months. But there were no significant difference at the 12th month. 3. According to the one year bone density change observation at the alveolar bone surrounding the implant, significant change was observed vertically, whereas no significant change could observed horizontally. According to the above mentioned results, we can conclude that immediate loading of implants results in a higher degree of alveolar bone loss in one year than submerged loading. But since alveolar bone loss rate decreases to a reasonable rate after the initial 3 months of rapid bone loss, immediate loading of implants seems to be an acceptable treatment modality for patients with good bone conditions. Fully bone anchored cases showed an favorable outcome, but partial edentulous cases showed more bony resorption. So this cases considered in case selections. Bone density changes observation in the study was performed for only one year therefore a more longitudinal observation may be studied.
