Purpose - The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of the compulsive hoarding behavior of consumers on the intention to purchase hedonic and utilitarian types of products. Design/methodology/approach - The online and offline survey was conducted and a total of 210 domestic data were collected. Simple and multiple regression analysis and ANOVA were conducted to analyze the data. Findings - First, the consumers'compulsive hoarding behavior had a significantly positive influence on the purchase intention. According to the analysis results of the sub-factors, however, only 'Difficulty Discarding' had a significant influence on the purchase intention, while 'Clutter' and 'Acquisition' did not. Second, as the results of identifying the moderating effect by product type in the purchase intention in accordance with the consumers'compulsive hoarding behavior, their compulsive hoarding behavior had a significant influence on only the intention to purchase hedonic products but not on the intention to purchase utilitarian ones. Similarly, the results of analyzing the sub-factors showed that only'Difficulty Discarding' significantly influenced the intention to purchase hedonic types of products, but 'Clutter' and 'Acquisition' were not significantly influential to both the hedonic and utilitarian types of products. Research implications or Originality - First, this study is meaningful in that it expanded the research discussion on compulsive hoarding behavior by conducting empirical research on this behavior in the general public, which is unlike the previous studies that focused on only severe pathological compulsive hoarding behavior. Second, it identified that the consumers'compulsive hoarding behavior could cause purchase behaviors that were different depending on the type of product by searching the purchase intention with divided types of products (hedonic and utilitarian).

This research focuses on how users behave when they search by subject using online public access catalog(OPAC). Major findings are as follows. 1)Main access poults are subject field$(55.2\%)$and title field$(42.2\%)$. 2) The search failure rate in subject searching is $59.3\%$. 3) Ma]or reasons for subject search failures are two-fold : use of inappropriate search terms $(48.5\%)$ and non-use of Boolean Operators$(42.5\%)$. 4) In order to overcome search failures users tend to change originally used search terms$(42.0\%)$ and search fields$(33.8\%) into different ones.
In this paper, I suggested a way for searching a path of the intelligent character in an action game by using a genetic algorithm. This realized the algorithm which enables not only to chose the nearest path but also to search the optimum path by using genetic algorithm. In this case, if the codes of chromosomes are applied as they are, a lot of lethal genes could occur. In order to solve such a problem, I used a splicing method, one of the DNA's behavior characteristics. The intelligent character searched out a optimum pass as well as a shortcut path with one treatment by using the characteristic of a genetic algorithm which generates multiple candidate solutions in the search process.

Consumer decisions and responses about the price to pay vary. Some consumers might decide the appropriate price range prior to shopping, while others compare and evaluate prices. Especially, consumers can have different reference points for price evaluation based on various price searching behavior that represent heterogeneous responses for prices in the clothing purchase decision-making process. This research identifies how consumers evaluate the price and helps explain their decision-making based on price searches. By analyzing qualitative research, we found that consumers recalled price information as a representative indicator and product level price information through the internal search. Their level of internal references can be an important factor affecting price evaluations. In addition, each consumer groups were subdivided into high and low external searching. The four types of responses to price were classified in the price search process and the identified differences in the price evaluation. Therefore, pricing strategy needs to be differentiated for these various consumer types.
The optimal power flow (OPF) problem was introduced by Carpentier in 1962 as a network constrained economic dispatch problem. Since then, it has been intensively studied and widely used in power system operation and planning. In the past few decades, many stochastic optimization methods such as Genetic Algorithm (GA), Evolutionary Programming (EP), and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) have been applied to solve the OPF problem. In particular, PSO is a newly proposed population based stochastic optimization algorithm. The main idea behind it is based on the food-searching behavior of birds and fish. Compared with other stochastic optimization methods, PSO has comparable or even superior search performance for some hard optimization problems in real power systems. Nowadays, some modifications such as breeding and selection operators are considered to make the PSO superior and robust. In this paper, we propose the Modified PSO (MPSO), in which the mutation operator of GA is incorporated into the conventional PSO to improve the search performance. To verify the optimal solution searching ability, the proposed approach has been evaluated on an IEEE 3D-bus test system. The results showed that performance of the proposed approach is better than that of the standard PSO.

Since consumers have become more comfortable with providing and receiving information online, 'online word of mouth' has been gaining consideration as one of the major information sources. Also, the shopping orientation of consumers has been proven to be an important determinant of consumer behavior. Therefore, the study investigated the differences in online WOM behavior based on shopping orientation. Hedonic, loyal, and syntonic styles were the types of shopping orientation considered, and the study focused on information retrieval tendencies, the motivation of online WOM search, searching online WOM sources, and the contents for the online WOM behavior. The research conducted an off-line survey targeting females in their twenties. The total number of data sets used in the empirical study was 125, and these were analyzed by SPSS 20.0: factors analysis, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, k-means cluster, ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test, Kruskal-Wallis, Mann-Whitney, and Bonferroni correction. The participants were divided into 3 kinds of shopping orientation groups named 'trend-pursuit', 'passive', and 'loyal'. As a result, there were significant differences in online WOM behavior discovered between the groups. Firstly, the 'trend-pursuit' group had the highest number of ongoing searches while the 'loyal' group had the highest number of pre-purchase search. Secondly, the 'trend-pursuit' and 'loyal' groups both had the motivations of online WOM search, hedonic and utility, whereas the 'passive' group had the lowest motivations for both motivations. Thirdly, the 'loyal' group frequently referred to reviews on shopping malls as online WOM sources. The research provided a better understanding of the online WOM behavior of present consumers and suggests that fashion related corporations map out marketing strategies with the understanding of these behaviors.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the information behavior of the junior high school students in the public library and to find the effectiveness of the behavior analysis using a cognitive work analysis(CWA). Data was collected through a dept interview and an observation method. Results show that the students had four constraints when they searched materials for reports: relevant materials for reports, limitation of materials, opening hours, use possibility. There are three behavior types. A type is that students find materials on the shelf through searching an online catalog, then make a report using reading the materials. B type is that students find materials on the shelf and check out the materials. C type is that students find materials and check out them by library staff help. CWA can be used for the information behavior research on the library space. CWA can, however, apply for space redesign when various researches would be conducted about the information behavior.

In this paper we introduce the Internet-based purchase support systems using data mining and case-based reasoning (CBR). Internet Business activity that involves the end user is undergoing a significant revolution. The ability to track users browsing behavior has brought the vendor and end customer's closer than ever before. It is now possible for a vendor to personalize his product message for individual customers at massive scale. Most of former researchers, in this research arena, used data mining techniques to pursue the customer's future behavior and to improve the frequency of repurchase. The area of data mining can be defined as efficiently discovering association rules from large collections of data. However, the basic association rule-based data mining technique was not flexible. If there were no inference rules to track the customer's future behavior, association rule-based data mining systems may not present more information. To resolve this problem, we combined association rule-based data mining with CBR mechanism. CBR is used in reasoning for customer's preference searching and training through the cases. Data mining and CBR-based hybrid purchase support mechanism can reflect both association rule-based logical inference and case-based information reuse. A Web-log data gathered in the real-world Internet shopping mall is given to illustrate the quality of the proposed systems.
The oviposition behavior of Ooencyrtus kuvanae (Howard) (Hymenoptera: Encyridae) was examined in a small petri dish containing eggs of gypsy moth, Lymantrt'a dt'spar L. The behavioral sequence from initial searching movement toward the host egg through oviposition, departure, and auxiliary phase activities such as resting, glooming, and host feeding were described. Oviposition experience shortened the approach time to subsequent eggs. The time spent for contacting the host egg also decreased with oviposition experience. Oviposition experience may play an important role in host recognition and increasing oviposition efficiency.
As menu structure of household appliance is complicated, user's cognitive workload frequently occurs errors. In existing studies, errors didn't present that interpretation for cognitive factors and alternatives, but are only considered as statistical frequency. Therefore, error classification and analysis in tasks is inevitable in usability evaluation. This study classified human error throughout information process model and navigation behavior. Human error is defined as incorrect decision and behavior reducing performance. And navigation is defined as unrelated behavior with target item searching. We searched and analyzed human errors and its causes as a case study, using mobile phone which could control appliances in near future. In this study, semantic problems in menu structure were elicited by SAT. Scenarios were constructed by those. Error analysis tests were performed twice to search and analyze errors. In 1st prototype test, we searched errors occurred in process of each scenario. Menu structure was revised to be based on results of error analysis. Henceforth, 2nd Prototype test was performed to compare with 1st. Error analysis method could detect not only mistakes, problems occurred by semantic structure, but also slips by physical structure. These results can be applied to analyze cognitive causes of human errors and to solve their problems in menu structure of electronic products.
