Propolis is made by bees collecting protective material or essence of plants and mixing with saliva and enzymes produced by the salivary glands. It is used to repair the inside of the honeycomb, keep it sterile, and adjust the temperature and humidity. Propolis is a natural antibiotic substance that it is used to make a clean room by coating the cell before the queen bee lay eggs, and preventing the bacteria from invading by using with wax when sealing the nursery room. Propolis extract is a health functional food with antioxidant and oral antimicrobial effects. In order to use propolis in food, its active ingredients are extracted with ethanol. Water-soluble propolis was prepared by mixing and stirring honey and ethanol extracted propolis (EEP) solution. When 1kg of honey and 100ml of ethanol extracted propolis solution were mixed and stirred, the total flavonoid content of water-soluble propolis was $6.6{\pm}1.1mg/10g$, and the free radical scavenging effects of water-soluble propolis were 54 to 74%.

In this study, the channels-contained hybrid membranes have been fabricated through the incorporation of glass fibers and GO sheets (GO/glass fibers, GG), or a mixture of chitosan/GO (CS/GO/glass fibers, CGG), as hybrid membranes using in organic dye removal. The material properties are well investigated the terms in the morphological, chemical, crystal, and thermal characterizations for verifying interactions in their formed structure. These hybrid membranes have been fitted well in pseudo-second order and Langmuir models that are associated with chemical adsorption and a monolayer approach, respectively. The highest adsorption ability of methylene blue and methyl orange reached 59.40 mg/g and 229.07 mg/g (GG); and 287.47 mg/g and 252.91 mg/g (CGG), which is more enhanced than that of previous GO-based other adsorbents. Moreover, the dye separation on these membranes could be favorable to superb sealing and trapping dye molecules from water instead of only the dye connection occurring on their surface, regarding the physically sieving effect. The membranes can also be reused within two and three adsorbing-desorbing cycles on the GG and CGG ones, respectively. These membranes can become future adsorbents to be applied for wastewater treatment due to their structural features.

Energy losses through windows and doors are big problems in the construction industry. For glass only, it has takes the largest portion of mass from window assembly and it responsible for 24 ~ 45% of energy loss from total building energy loss. Insulating glass unit should maintain their basic functions during their working life in order to contribute positively for global warming issue. There have been many research works for improving insulating glass unit durability. But it is not easy job to fulfill the requirements because insulating glass units composed of many components. So, overall it is required to have right qualify control procedures starting from material selection to fabrication, shipping and installation to the customer site. In this report, we have reviewed the durability of insulating glass unit made from different grades of sealing materials based on globally accepted industry codes such as EN1279. ASTM E 2190 and Locally available code. KS L 2003. The result showed that there is a relationship between the mechanical properties of insulating glass 2nd sealant and the durability of the units.
We have analyzed affecting factors of boiling point measurement and proposed to improve these after identifying errors of boiling point experiment in 7th grade science textbooks of 2009 revised curriculum. In the result of analyzing affecting factor of boiling point measurement for nine kinds of science textbooks, we have identified six affecting factors like as types of thermometer, heating instrument, sealing or not of stopper, position of thermometer, shape of container, and volume ratio of material and container. When performing experiment of boiling point measurement, we identified the best results when heating with a hot plate, positioning thermo sensor of MBL near neck branch after filling and sopping 10% volumes of material in round bottom flask. Based on this result, we have compared nine kinds of 7th grade science textbooks and found many errors that must be corrected in most of textbooks. Therefore it should be improved the experiment of science textbooks to enhance the understanding of students and to prevent from misconceptions for boiling point measurement.

Model materials are developed to achieve similarity of flow patterns for mild steels in forming processes at high temperatures. The model materials consist of pure plasticine and one or two additives such as resin and lanolin. To verify the similarity of flow patterns between physical modeling and compression of mild steels at high temperatures, ring and compression tests have been carried out with the developed-model materials at various strain rates, temperatures and lubricants. The test results are in good agreement with the flow patterns obtained from upsetting of a mild steel at high temperatures.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the microleakage of root-end filling material filled in blood contaminated root-end cavity and self-etching adhesive placed over blood contaminated resected root apices without root-end preparation. Extracted, human maxillary incisors, canines and mandibular premolar were randomly divided into four groups of 15 teeth each. After canal preparation, resection of the apex and root-end preparation, MTA and IRM were filled in the root-end cavity (A and B group). After canal preparation and resection of the apex, Clearfil SE Bond and Prompt L-Pop were applied over the contaminated root-end surfaces (C and D group). The roots were then subjected to 15cm of water pressure to simulate periapical microleakage stress. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA. The results were as follows : 1. All groups showed a tendency of decreasing microleakage in process of time after 2weeks later except IRM group. 2. After 2 weeks and 1 month, MTA group showed less microleakage significantly than other groups(p<0.05). After 2 months, Prompt L-Pop group showed less microleakage significantly than other groups(p<0.05). 3. After 9 months, there were no significant differences among four groups(p>0.05). Thus it is considered that apical sealing using adhesives system without root-end preparation is good method in endodontic surgery.

In this study, ethylene-propylene-diene monomer (EPDM) rubbers reinforced with various particle size of carbon black were prepared and tested. We followed recently published CSA/ANSI CHMC2 standard "the test methods for evaluating material compatibility in compressed hydrogen applications-polyemr". Measurement of change in hardness, tensile strength and volume were performed after exposure to maximum operating pressure, 87.5 MPa, for 168 hours (1 week). Once EPDM was exposed to high-pressure hydrogen, the samples experience volume increase and degradation of the physical properties. Also, after the dissolved hydrogen was fully eliminated from the specimens, the hardness and the tensile properties were not recovered. The rubber reinforced with smaller sizes of carbon black particles showed less volume expansion and decrease of physical properties. As a result, smaller particle size of carbon black filler led to more resistance to high-pressure hydrogen.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the adaptation of root canal filling material to the dentinal wall of root canal and to compare the sealing ability of the root canal filling materials using ultrasonic endodontic instrument with injection-molded thermoplasticized gutta-percha filling method and lateral condensation method. Fifty fresh human single root exlracted for orthodontic treatment, were randomly selected, and instrumented by step-back technique. And then, the teeth were divided into 5 groups according to each root canal filling methods. In the experimental group 1 and group 2, the root canals were filled with gutta perdia cases using ultrasonic instrument with and without sealer. In the experimental group 3 and 4, using jection-moldeed thermoplasticized gutta-percha method by obtul$^{(R)}$ canals were filled with and without sealer. In the control group, the canals were filled with sealer by lateral candensation. And then, 5 teeth of each group were immersed in black Indian ink, decalcified and cleared. The depth of dye penetration into the root canal were evaluated with stereoscope (Reichert Ltd., USA). Among the 5 teeth remaining in each group, the single longituding grooves were made on the labial and lingual root surfaces and then immersed in the liquid nitrogen to fracture the teeth spontaneously without any distortions of gutta-percha. Each specimens were examined with X-650 Scanning Electron Microscope(Hitachi ltd, Japan) to show the adaptation to the canal wall, void, homogenicity of filling material and location of gutta-percha or sealer in the dentinal tubules of the root canal. The observations were as follows : 1. The experimental group 1 showed smaller mean dye penetration than control group, and showed the penetraton of sealer in the dentinal tubules of apical third of the root canal. 2. The experimental group 2 and group 4 showed the penetration of gutta-percha in the dentinal tubules of root canals. 3. The experimental group 1 and group 3 showed less mean dye penetration than the experimental group 2 and group 4. 4. The experimental group 1 and group 2 showed better adaptation of filling materials than control group.

In this study, the bond strength between concrete and metal films was investigate according to changing water content ratio of substrate concrete by pull-out test in order to develop the new finishing design methods for building structures using the metal films. The following conclusions were obtained as a result of the studies. It was find that the colour of metal did not change before and after the metal spraying. Also, the water content ratio of substrate concrete must be controlled under 10% weight to confirm the standard bond strength of finishing material to concrete. 2.5 MPa. To enhance the bond strength between concrete and metal films, it is very effective to strengthen the concrete surface using the agent which strengthen the concrete surface and seal the pore of metal film by the sealing agents. Therefore, the control of concrete surface treatment and water content ratio are necessary to secure the bond strength of metal films.

The automotive weather strip has functions of isolating of water, dust, noise and vibration from outside. To achieve good sealing performance, weather strip should be designed to have the high contact force and wide contact area. However, these design causes excessive permanent deformation of weather strip. The causes of permanent deformation is generally explained to be the chemical material detrioration and physical variation and cyclic loading, etc. This paper introduces a numerical method to predict the permanent deformation using the time dependent viscoelastic model which is represented by Prony series in ABAQUS. Uniaxial tension and creep tests were conducted to obtain the material data. And the lab. test for the permanent deformation was accelerated during shorter time, 300 hours. The permanent deformation of weather strip was successfully predicted under the different loading conditions and different section shapes using the suggested numerical process.
