With introduction of amended educational curriculum in 2007, optimizing project of educational environment to accomplish its purposes and goals includes expanding educational facilities and supplying eco-friendly school facilities. However, while the focus of optimizing project of educational environment is quality improvement of educational facilities, aging of these facilities built at th times of quantitative expansion and its management become serious problems. Higher concerns on studies and jobs on management of building caused by serious aging of facilities, management cost of building becomes a very crucial issue. Therefore, this study aims to analyze environment improvement budget of school facilities through building and using data warehouse, by investigating and analyzing the current status of environment improvement budget of school facilities and its cost through questionnaire and interview surveys on officers who are in charge of environment improvement budget of school facilities in educational administrations. This study thus analyzed environment improving budget of school facilities by using data warehouse technology collecting related data to the topic and setting levels by region, school class, establishment year, school facility types and others.

The purpose of this study is to provide an remodification method for elementary school complex facilities in Seoul Metropolitan city. This study analyzes the questionnaire survey for 568 entire elementary schools and the questionnaire survey for school facility complex project operated 44 elementary schools. Then the result of this study was deduced from the comparison between the 568 entire survey data and 44 survey data in terms of the cognition of school facility complex project, the required type of facility and the problems of complex facility maintenance and operation. Four major findings were revealed as the result of research. First, there is a very high agreement with the school facility complex projects. Second, it was need that the process of planning and design was remodified to enhance participation of parents of students and local residents for selecting an appropriate complex facility. Third, education environment and student safety should be protected from any other school facility complex environments. Fourth, an agreement and regulation is needed for more effective maintenance and operation of school complex facilities.

The purpose of this study is to provide some architectural characteristics of recycled school facilities. To achieve this purpose literature review and case study are performed. In the case study total 207 recycled school facilities located within Kyungsangpookdo Province were analyzed in terms of its gross building area, size of the site, and new uses. Results of the analyses about the data show that there is a significant correlation between adapted use and size of the site and conditions of the adapted uses are influenced by the size of the site and gross building areas. In addition, this study finds that in case of extensions 53% of the total cases are used for training facilities. Finally, this study shows future research direction for achieving better decision in recycling closed school facilities.

This paper considered the situation of the school building facilities in the university classified by the campus characteristics. Data were collected from 224 universities campus of 180 4 year colleges. The results are as follows: 1) The floor area of school building facilities increases continuously in 2001-2003 in the campuses studied. The floor area of school building facilities per 1 student increase $15.85m^2$ in 2001, $17.62m^2$ in 2002, and $17.79m^2$ in 2003. 2) The floor area of school building facilities is distributed widely, also the floor area of school building facilities is below $130,000m^2$ and the floor area per 1 student is below $23m^2$ in 75% of the campuses studied. 3) The floor area of school building facilities per 1 student increases $16.07m^2$ in 2001, $17.41m^2$ in 2002 and $17.62m^2$ in 2003. 4) The floor area of school building facilities per 1 student is large but tends to decrease every year in the university of education. Medical, arts and physical type campus has the large floor area per 1 student and the distribution of area is wide owing to the campus having a hospital. The floor area per 1 student is large and the distribution of area is wide in the sub campus.

In order to cope with the demands of the rapidly changing society, advanced countries enrolled in OECD have been establishing corresponding directions as integrating their fields in economy, society, and education as one system. To be a part of the international changes, Korea has presented "Mixed-Use of schools and community facilities." "Mixed-Use of schools and community facilities" enables schools to expand necessary facilities, which were not secured due to insufficient budget, through community funding. Communities could not secure enough convenient facilities because they did not have enough sites for the facilities; however, school sites have made the communities possible to have facilities. As a result, the demand for "Mixed-Use of schools and community facilities" has increased. Therefore, this study redefines the concept of the Mixed-Use of School Facilities in the perspective of the main users, researches the current state of the Mixed-Use of School Facilities through case studies in Korea, and intends to research preferences of the synthesis through surveys. In addition, the study proposes the proper size and the standard of the facilities that are possible to synthesize them with schools. In the future, in running this Mixed-Use of School Facilities business, the data from this study can be utilized.

This study attempts to deduce the necessity and validity of complexation, and suggests complexation through complexation suitability evaluations as follows. First, the concept and current state of leisure facilities for the elderly and elementary facilities and architectural complexation were investigated through theoretical considerations. Second, the target schools for complexation of 'elementary school-leisure facility for the elderly' were selected. The aspects of facility introduction of an elementary school, teacher support facility, convenience facility for the disabled, safety and security facilities as well as school facility accessibility were investigated on the basis of the data attained from theoretical considerations. Third, the feasibility of complexation of leisure facilities for the elderly was reviewed, based on the investigated data on complexation-targeted elementary school. Regarding school building and support facilities, with a focus on leisure programs for the elderly, the availability and number of rooms, extra numbers of regular classrooms and the room condition were assessed on the basis of the analysis of operational perspective of each facility. The convenience facilities for the disabled were examined by classifying them into interventional facility in consideration of facilities for the elderly, pursuant to the provisions in the convenience promotion assurance act for the disabled, elderly and pregnant women. Safety and security facilities were evaluated in an effort to assess the safety issue of the elderly and children. The result of the evaluation of the 6 elementary schools in Seong-buk county based on the above-mentioned four measurement standards shows that they scored 107~124 points out of the total 155 points, with the average of 118.5 points. This is more than the medium score and shows the possible complexation of the elementary school facilities as the leisure facilities for the elderly, and at the same time it may lead each school to find out the elements conducive to enhancing the complexation as a result of the evaluation. Through the evaluation data, I expect that we contribute to promoting the process of the evaluation of the appropriateness of complexation and the efficient complexation.

The aims of this study are to present the basic data of a school facilities complex and to analyze the necessity of a school facilities complex, school facilities characteristics and program characteristics. In the study, there can be found an analysis of the present conditions of the school facilities complex by literature research and the analysis of school facilities characteristics and program characteristics by case study. The results of this study are as follows: First, the elementary school facilities are mixed with the gym, swimming pool, culture center and convenient facility(parking lot). Second, the school facilities complex is not connected with the number of elementary school students. As the number of elementary school students decrease, it is possible to apply the generated surplus space of the school facilities to the community facility. Third, the school facilities complex is not connected to the reliance ratio of local finance. It is necessary for the central government to provide active financial and to build a financial support model. Fourth, most of the time, the entrance of the facility complex is divided from the entrance of the school facility. Fifth, the programs of many school facility complexes are composed of swimming and physical fitness programs.

The educational facilities is the facility wining the specific gravity which is the most abundant by 269s (25.5%) among the godfather lease application facilities (1056)s of the abolition of school. The pattern study thinks about a purpose with the master plan through the plan characteristic derivation according to the analysis of current situation of the domestic closing down a school application educational facilities in which the related study is nonexistent and type in the educational facilities plan of the closing down a school still afterward in being utilized for reference data and guide book.

The purpose of this study is to suggest types and a model of utilization of abolished school as facilities of the aged in rural area. There are various types of abolished school. One of them is the facilities of the aged. It is not general type, but special case according to regions. So, this study is focused on the possibility of utilization for it. We expect that abolished school make an offer a type of facilities of the aged. By surveying exterior and interior space, and analysing the actual conditions of facilities and data of various types, I propose types of abolished school, design factors and model of using facilities of the aged.

This paper considered 1) the relation between the number of student and the floor area of the school building facility, 2) the situation and the distribution of the school building facilities area, 3) the position between the district office of education by the school building facilities composition. Data were collected from 529 elementary school in seoul. 1) The number of student is have not an influence on the floor area of the school building facility in the middle school. 2) The floor area of the school building facilities per 1 student of the jungbu district office of education is larger than other the district office of education and distribution of area is wide. 3) As the position between the district office of education by the school building facilities composition is considered by principal component analysis, the maintenance of the need space is late in the gangdong gangseo district office of education, maintenance of support space is late in the gangdong dongbu district office of education, the maintenance of management space is late in the seobu bukbu district office of education.
