The purpose of this study was to explain the relationship between empowerment and satisfaction of clinical practice in nursing students. The instrument of this study was a structured questionnaire included empowerment and satisfaction of clinical practice. The data was collected from september 28, 1999 to March 31, 2000 and analyzed by Cronbach alpha, descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and simple regression by using SPSS Win program. The result of research were as follows: 1. There was significant difference according to the general characteristic factor. The total empowerment was predicted by meaning of nursing, university and college, relationship of peer, clearance of study purpose. Satisfaction of clinical practice was predicted by university and college, clearance of study purpose. 2. There was a significant correlation between empowerment and satisfaction of clinical practice(r=0.442, p=0.000). 3. Empowerment was the highest factor predicting satisfaction of clinical practice. A total of 19.5% of the variance was explained in the total satisfaction of clinical practice. It was found that the higher the degree of perceived empowerment, the higher the degree of satisfaction of clinical practice. Therefore, nursing faculty should plan interventions to inspire satisfaction level of clinical practice by empowerment.
Purpose: This study was conducted to explore clinical practice performance according to type of practice in students in pediatric nursing and the relationship with satisfaction of clinical practice. Methods: The subjects consisted of 531 nursing students (307 at a pediatric ward and 224 at a nursery) from 5 colleges of nursing. Data collected from March to June 2012 were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, AVONA and Pearson correlation coefficients. Results: Clinical practice performance on direct nursing activity was significantly different according to the course on pediatric nursing, grade point average, and satisfaction of nursing major. Observation practice was different according to type of college, the course on pediatric nursing, grade point average, duration of practice and clinical educator in the pediatric ward. In the nursery, direct nursing activity was significantly different according to the type of college, the course on pediatric nursing, hospital type, and duration of practice. Observation practice was different according to type of college, satisfaction of a nursing major, and the clinical educator. In addition, significant correlations were found between clinical practice performance and satisfaction of clinical practice. Conclusion: Our research can assist effective pediatric nursing practice planning for nursing students.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors and the degree of nursing college student's clinical practice satisfaction. The sample consisted of 488 nursing students who had been in the clinical practice experience from 6 junior nursing colleges in Korea. Data for this study was collected from 20 May to 20 June, 2000. Data were analysed by SPSS/PC using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, T-test, one-way ANOVA, and regression. The results of this study are as follows : 1. The highest motive of selecting a nursing science came to be 'having a good prospect for getting a job' (29.3%), major place of the clinical nursing practice was university hospital(46.5%), and the degree of satisfaction about the nursing science was 'relatively satisfied' (43%). 2.The fields that the highest satisfaction of the nursing student's clinical practice were DR(3.25), NR(3.18), ICU(3.11), and OR(3.10). The highest rank of the nursing student's clinical practice satisfaction was 'feels more continuous nursing studying is required after getting a job or pass the RN exam'(4.24). 3. There was significant value between the Grade(2yr, 3yr) and the satisfaction of the clinical practice environment(p<0.001), the clinical practice interpersonal relationship (p<0.001), the clinical practice evaluation (p<0.05), and there was significant value between the satisfaction about the nursing science and the satisfaction of the clinical practice environment(p<0.001), the clinical practice interpersonal relation ship (p<0.05), the satisfation after the clinical practice(p<0.001). 4. There was significant value between 'the opinion of the clinical practice periods' and the satisfaction of the clinical practice place(p<0.05), the clinical practice environment(p<0.001), the clinical practice interpersonal relationship(p<0.001), the satisfation after the clinical practice(p<0.001). 5.The satisfaction of the clinical practice interpersonal relationship influenced on the nursing student's clinical practice satisfaction($R^{2}=.188$). From these results, it is suggested that the higher the satisfaction of the clinical practice interpersonal relationship be like to improve the nursing college student's clinical practice satisfaction.
Purpose : This study was to investigate the satisfaction of clinical practice according to medical institute. Methods : A survey was administered for 70 college students with experience in clinical practices. We investigated using a questionnaire on 'curriculum factors on practice', 'environmental factors on practice', 'time-schedule factors on practice', 'teaching factors on practice'. A statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 17.0 for window version. Results : 1. The degree of satisfaction on curriculum of clinical practice was higher college hospital than other hospital in 3 among 5 items(p<.05). 2. The degree of satisfaction on environmental factors of clinical practice was higher school hospital than other hospital in 4 among 6 items(p<.05). 3. The degree of satisfaction on time-schedule factors of clinical practice was higher college hospital than other hospital in 1 among 5 items(p<.05). 4. The degree of satisfaction on teaching factors of clinical practice was higher college hospital than other hospital in 4 among 6 items(p<.05). Conclusion : It was revealed by this survey that the satisfaction of clinical practice in school hospital had higher other hospital in curriculum, environment and teaching factors. To maximize the effects of clinical practice, a clinical practice program in school hospital is required and further research and attention are suggested.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to identify the mediation effect of a positive stress coping strategy between clinical practice stress and clinical practice satisfaction in nursing students. Methods : In this study, data was collected from 248 nursing students at K University in South Korea from October of 2015 to November of 2015. The collected data was analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 Statistics Program. Results : Clinical practice stress and a positive stress coping strategy were significant predictors of clinical practice satisfaction (${\beta}$=.442, p<.001). The explanatory power of the measure of clinical practice satisfaction was increased to 29.3% (p<.001) with solely clinical practice stress, and it reached 44.2% (p<.001) when a positive stress coping strategy was reflected. The results of this study confirmed that a positive stress coping strategy has a mediation effect on clinical practice stress and clinical practice satisfaction levels. Conclusions : It is necessary to develop a program to take advantage of positive stress coping skills so that nursing college students can smoothly overcome stress during their clinical training and thus improve their clinical practice experience.
Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the effect of verbal violence, clinical practice stress, and coping with stress on the major satisfaction in nursing students during clinical practice. Methods: A cross-sectional study was used. A survey was conducted from May 3 to May 10, 2022, on 200 nursing students who were in their junior and seneior years at two universities in Gyeongsangbuk-do. Descriptive statistics, frequency analysis, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé's test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and hierarchical regression analysis were employed to analyze the data. Results: Major satisfaction was found to be significantly negatively correlated with verbal violence (r=-.30, p<.001) and clinical practice stress (r=-.15, p=.032) and to be positively correlated with coping with stress (r=.24, p<.001). Their satisfaction with clinical practice (β=.29, p=.037), verbal violence (β=-.23, p<.001), coping with stress (β=.16, p=.015), religion (β=.14, p=.041), and clinical practice stress (β =-.13, p=.048) explained 19.3% of the variance in nursing students' major satisfaction during clinical practice. Conclusion: A verbal violence and coping with stress program for nursing students should be developed to increase nursing students' major satisfaction during clinical practice.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the self-efficacy of dental hygiene students and their satisfaction with clinical practice to provide information for developing programs aimed at instilling self-efficacy and boosting satisfaction with clinical practice. Methods: A self-reported survey was conducted with dental hygiene students in the metropolitan area. Of those surveys distributed, 243 questionnaires were analyzed. Results: The results of this study are as follows: 1. Regarding self-efficacy, the subjects had a mean result of 2.96(out of five points), and 3.09 points in satisfaction with clinical practice. 2. As for the subfactors of self-efficacy, the students who got higher grades, whose awareness of dental hygienists was better and whose awareness of dental hygienists after on-site clinical practice was better scored higher in terms of confidence and self-regulation. In task difficulty preference, the students who were more satisfied with majoring in dental hygiene and whose awareness of dental hygienists was better scored higher. In terms of motivation for choosing the dental hygiene department, the students scored higher when the department was their preferred option. 3. In satisfaction with clinical practice, the students who were aware of dental hygienists at the time of college entrance was better. Those whose awareness of dental hygienists after experiencing clinical practice was better and who were more satisfied with majoring in dental hygiene expressed more satisfaction with clinical practice. 4. Satisfaction with clinical practice was higher when self-efficacy was better. Conclusions: Based on the above results, it is thought that developing programs that can enhance self-efficacy and include on-site clinical practice would be beneficial as higher self-efficacy levels were related to higher clinical practice satisfaction.
An aim of this study is to find out influenced factors of satisfaction degree on the clinical practice for the dental technology student and it can be provided the basic necessary data for the educational planning of the curriculum for the clinical practice. The target of study are selected form 7 junior health college students and colleges are located in around seoul form 14 junior health college throughout the nation. The questionnaries were distributed between 24th Feb to 30th July in 1997 to the 100 dental technicians who finished clinical practice and entered profession in 1997. All collected data were analysed by using SPSS/PC, Technical Statistic, One-Way ANOVA, Ttest, Person Correnlation Coefficient, Chrobach Alpha Coefficient and the result of the study is follow. 1) The satisfaction degree were classificated as 7 aspect and overall average score was 3.042. During that period satisfaction of personal relation aspect(M=3.737) shows highest level. Satsfiaction of clinical parctice(M=3.571) shows as second, Satisfiaction of environment(M=3.028), Satisfaction of guidance(M=2.915), satisfaction of subject are ordered of their scores. According to above study satisfaction's degree of subject show lowest level. 2) According to the result of verification of study. general character of student and satisfiaction degree has not much relation with sex, location of college, religion, period for enrolling college, teaching method of clinical practice. But the result show similar relation with following items. Satisfaction if subject and satisfaction of clinical practice(P=0.000), place of clinical practice and satisfaction of clinical practice(P=0.002), Academic record of college and satisfaction of clinical practice(P=0.000). 3) The relation of satisfaction(Subject, method of teaching, environment, period, rating, personal relation) of clinical practice and age of investigation's target Older student show higher satisfaction(P=0.040). Also method of teaching, environments, period, rating, personal relation has similarities with satisfaction. Therefore student who has higher satisfaction of clinical practice they also have higher rate for subject, environment, period, personal relation. 4) The result fo investigation, most interesting subject was crown & bridge and most difficult factor was too many simple-works to the student. One of ideal factor was discussing with counselor before they choose place for clinical practice. Third grade and first semester is most efficient time for clinical practice and 8 week is proper period for clinical practice. Clinical practice is absilutory mecessary and we find out most student rated positively. However we need more specific study about satisfcation of each subject. Because it shows lowest level and we need more pay attention for planning of clinical practice.
Purpose: This study aims to assess clinical practice satisfaction among dental technology students and to identify the factors that may influence their career decision levels. In doing so, the present study provides preliminary data as to ways to improve clinical practice satisfaction levels and career decision levels that would be optimal for one's competence. Methods: he survey was conducted on dental technology students. The collected data was analyzed by the statistical program SPSS 21.0. The results were analyzed by reliability, frequency, multiple-way ANOVA, correlation, multiple regression. To test for significance on each item, p<0.05 has been decided as a standard. Results: Analysis results indicate that the factors influencing clinical practice satisfaction of dental technology students include school year, satisfaction of major, area of clinical practice, and assigned department for clinical practice, while the factors that influence career decision levels include satisfaction of major and clinical practice satisfaction. Conclusion: Results of present study suggest that in order to improve clinical practice satisfaction among dental technology students and thereby career decision levels, one needs to focus on satisfaction of major and quality of clinical practice. Such efforts will enable a more active and effective approach toward clinical practice for the dental technology students, and with appropriate understanding and assessment of the experience, they will be better equipped to make a career decision where they can live up to their competence.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among stress, depression, and satisfaction to clinical practice in nursing students. Methods: Three hundred forty-five nursing college students were selected by convenient sampling and data were collected from October to November, 2011. Results: The nursing students experienced moderate stress level. The most severe stressors were adjustment to school and clinical practice. Also, they experienced more than moderate level of satisfaction on clinical practice. The most satisfiable factors were clinical practice circumstance and practice hours. The sophomore had more severe stress and depression and had lower clinical practice satisfaction than the junior. Satisfying with major in nursing as well as clinical practice had a significantly negative correlation with stress and depression. Conclusion: Based on this results, we need to develop programs for increasing satisfaction to clinical practice and major in nursing. The program will enhance adaptation ability to clinical practice.
