A Study on Use of Complementary-Alternative Therapy in Middle-aged Women (중년여성의 보완대체요법이용에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe the use pattern of alternative therapies in middle aged women. Method: The subjects of this study were 530 women from 40 to 64 years of age. The data of this study was patients' records. The data was gathered from April 1st, 2004 to June 30th, 2004. Data was analyzed statistically by using the SPSS/WIN 10.0 program. Result: It was shown that 63.5% of the subjects have utilized one or more types of alternative therapy. The most common type of alternative therapy was dietary and nutritional therapy 38.3%, and the place of use was the home 64.1%. The most common reason was a recommendation by friends. The degree of satisfaction after the use of alternative therapy was 95.2%. Among users of alternative therapies, the most frequent responses to each question were as follows; Motive of Use- "for health maintenance and promotion." (62.7%) In the relation ship between general characteristics and utilization of alternative therapy, religion(x2=12.33, p=.02), exercise(x2=8.21, p=.004), and health status(x2=14.95, p=.005) showed a significant statistical difference. Conclusion: We found that middle aged women used alternative therapies more frequently than other populations. Therefore, it is suggested that medical doctors or nurses verify the true effects or side-effects from the most therapies or nurses verify the true effects or side-effects from the most common complementary or alternative therapies through experiments.

A Comparison of Nursing Work Environment, Role Conflict, and Job Embeddedness of Nurses Working in Comprehensive Nursing Care Service Wards and General Wards in a Tertiary Hospital (상급종합병원에서의 간호·간병통합서비스 병동과 일반병동 간호사의 근무환경, 역할갈등, 직무 배태성 비교)

  • Purpose: The objective of this study was to compare and analyze the work environment, role conflict, and job embeddedness between comprehensive nursing care service (CNCS) ward nurses and general ward nurses. Methods: This descriptive research study involved 70 CNCS ward nurses and 69 general ward nurses working at an advanced general hospital in Seoul. Data were collected using the structured questionnaire from March 27 to April 14, 2019 and analyzed with the SPSS 24.0 program. Results: The work environment of the CNCS ward nurse was higher than that of the general ward nurse (t=4.38, p<.001), and the role conflict of the CNCS ward nurse was lower than that of the general ward nurse (t=-2.09, p=.038). However, job embeddedness did not show any statistically significant difference (t=0.22, p=.824). Conclusion: The results of this study show that the introduction of CNCS ward has shown improvement in the work environment and strengthened the establishment of the roles in their team, while maintaining the job embeddedness of nurses. These results indicate that improvements in the work environment, such as nurse staffing and material support, would contribute to the qualitative enhancement of nursing and that it would need to extend the introduction of CNCS wards.

Effects of Job Crafting and Job Embeddedness on the Nursing Performance of Hospital Nurses (간호사의 잡크레프팅과 직무착근도가 간호업무성과에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose : Although hospital nurses work in the same environment and care for the same patients, there are variations in terms of nursing performance. Determining nursing performance is an important way of providing quality care in clinical settings. This can aid in identifying the influence of job crafting and job embeddedness on the nursing performance of nurses in medium-sized hospitals as well as in providing basic data to enable increased nursing performance. Methods : This descriptive correlational study examined the degree of job crafting, job embeddedness, and nursing performance among hospital nurses to ascertain the relationships between these variables and their effects on nursing performance. The study participants were 170 nurses from small and medium-sized hospitals in G city. The data were collected from April 11 to 31, 2024, using structured self-reported questionnaires. The SPSS/WIN 25.0 program was used to analyze the data. Results : Depending on the overall amount of clinical experience, the nursing performance score varied, albeit above the median level (F = 2.337, p< .041). Nursing performance had a significant positive correlation with job crafting (r = 0.424, p< .001) and job embeddedness (r = 0.557, p< .001). The regression analysis confirmed that job crafting (β = 0.267, p< .001) and job embeddedness (β = 0.613, p< .001) were influential factors in the hospital nurses' nursing performance. This model explained 31%. Conclusion : Job crafting and job embeddedness were found to be important factors affecting the nursing performance of hospital nurses. Hospital nurses are encouraged to bolster nursing performance in terms of satisfaction with job crafting and job embeddedness, and nursing managers should prioritize the strengthening of job crafting and job embeddedness among hospital nurses. Furthermore, it will be necessary to develop educational programs aimed at enhancing nursing performance.

  • The main objective of this study is to reveal the basic information for structuring the subsequent information monitoring and early warning system and configuring the sustainable programme management of Donggung and wolji, Gyeongju which was much utilized as historic garden with the physical carrying capacity and the psychological carrying capacity according to on-spot observation and survey. The physical carrying capacity can be calculated with landscape node spatial capacity, road spatial capacity and other spatial capacity and the psychological carrying capacity can be calculated with vision, hearing, touch, action feeling and satisfaction. The number of actual tourists was lower than the carrying capacity in daytime, but it was about twice as great as that in the night. And because the tourists were mainly tour groups, the time of environment damaged was short and fixed. The management improvement program was brought forward centre around the results.

Analysis of student perception of learning block-type educational programming tools in online learning environment (온라인 학습 환경에서의 블록형 교육용 프로그래밍 도구 학습에 대한 학생 인식 분석)

  • Due to COVID-19, most schools are conducting online learning. In this study, a total of 12 block-type educational programming tool classes were conducted in the form of online learning for 6th grade elementary school students, and then quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed students' perceptions of their learning experience on entry learning. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the learner easily recognized the use of the entry program and the difficulty of learning contents, and the learning satisfaction was high. When students face difficulties, it was found that they received the most help from the hint function provided by the site itself, and they were found to be less aware of the necessity of teachers when learning entry. As a result of the qualitative analysis, it was found that the learner felt a lot of novelty and fun through easy and simple operation. On the other hand, it was found that the learning contents and hints were not understood, which made them difficult and felt that the hint contents were insufficient. It was found that students felt a sense of accomplishment by creating and manipulating programs as they wish.

The Effects of Self-esteem on Health Promotion Behavior in Pre-service Early Childhood Teachers (예비유아교사의 자아존중감이 건강증진행위에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of pre-service early childhood teachers' self-esteem on their health promotion behaviors. The participants were 230 pre-service early childhood teachers from Seoul and Gyeonggi-province. The data were analyzed using the SPSS version 22.0 program. The results of the study can be summarized as follows: Firstly, the self-esteem and health promotion behaviors of pre-service early childhood teachers were found to be above average. Secondly, there was a significant correlation between the self-esteem of pre-service early childhood teachers and their health promotion behaviors. Thirdly, the factors influencing the health promotion behaviors of pre-service early childhood teachers included self-esteem, academic grade, and satisfaction with their major, which together accounted for 28% of the variance. This study is significant as it empirically demonstrates that self-esteem is a crucial factor influencing the level of health promotion behaviors among pre-service early childhood teachers.

Mediating Effect of Community Child Center Service Experience on the Relationship between Peer Attachment and School Adjustment (또래애착이 학교적응에 미치는 영향에서 지역아동센터 이용 경험의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of community child center service experience on the relationship between peer attachment and school adjustment. For the analysis, data from the 2nd Panel of Community Child Center(2017) were used. Frequency analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics 20 program. As a result, peer attachment(peer trust) has a positive effect on their center experience and school adjustment, and the center experience has a partial mediating effect on the relationship between peer attachment and school adjustment. The relationship with a center teacher and the center service evaluation of the children who use community child center are important factors that affect their school adjustment. Therefore measures should be taken to improve the quality of the community child center programs and its teachers.

Influencing Factor of Happiness in the Employees of SME Manufacturing industry (중소기업 제조업체 근로자의 행복감 영향 요인)

  • This study examined the factors influencing the happiness of employees of the SME manufacturing industry. Data were collected from 139 employees using structured questionnaires, and were analyzed by a t-test, one way-ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and Hierarchical regression analysis using SPSS/WIN Ver 18.0 program. In general characteristics, happiness was significantly associated with age, level of education, religion, monthly income, monthly income satisfaction, position in the working area, and way of working. Happiness was positively correlated with self-esteem and perception of interpersonal caring behavior, and was negatively correlated with job stress. The factors influencing happiness was self-esteem and perception of interpersonal caring behavior, which explained 46.6%. Self-esteem and the perception of interpersonal caring behavior should be considered for improving the happiness of employees. The results will form the basis of nursing interventions to increase employees' happiness in the SME manufacturing industry.

A Study on Relation of between Focusing Manner and Clinical Competence in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 포커싱적 태도와 임상수행능력과의 상관성 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to the relation between the focusing manner and clinical competence and to determine the effect of the focusing manner on clinical competence. In December 2018, data were collected from 189 university students in the nursing department and analyzed using a multiple regression. As a result, major satisfaction and focusing manner of nursing university students were identified as major factors influencing clinical competence. In particular, 'expressing', a sub-factor of the focusing manner, had a significant effect on the sub-factors of clinical competence ability, 'nursing process, nursing skill, teaching and cooperation, interpersonal relationships and communication, and professional development', and explanatory power was 15.7%~19.9%. Therefore, during the undergraduate course, it is suggested that university students in the nursing department actively develop teaching-learning methods along with the development of a program to improve 'the ability to express appropriately for the situation'.

The Experiences of Virtual Reality-based Simulation in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 가상현실 시뮬레이션 실습 경험)

  • This study is a descriptive qualitative study to understand the virtual reality-based simulation experiences of nursing students. The study recruited 53 students who conducted virtual reality-based simulation while attending the course of Adult Nursing I and II in the third year of the department of nursing at a university. The data was analyzed using a content analysis method from a reflection journal created anonymously by students. The results emerged 5 categories and 12 subcategories. The categories were consisted of "realizing the necessity of nursing competence", "expanding nursing knowledge", "receiving safety psychologically", "thinking focused on problem" and "getting satisfaction". It suggests that virtual reality online program can have a positive effect on thoughts and expansion of knowledge in a safe educational environment. Therefore, it needs to develop various contents for the virtual reality education and training.
