With recent surge of Internet use, many people become concerned with side effects of Internet. Especially Internet addiction has become a significant issue. As Internet users become much younger than before, Internet addiction is salient even among elementary school students. While much research has been conducted on adolescents' addiction, only a little research has been conducted on elementary students' Internet addiction. In addition, it is necessary to use a standardized and reliable evaluation tool that is designed to assess the level of children's and adolescents' Internet addiction. The purpose of this study is to grasp the realities of elementary students' Internet addiction using an evaluation tool developed for elementary and secondary students, and to analyze the factors affecting Internet addiction. A survey was conducted to 1,382 5th and 6th graders selected from nationwide schools. The results of this study shows that 5.5% of the sample students are in the stage of serious addiction, and 12.4% in the stage of early addiction. In addition, the degree of Internet addiction significantly differs by various variables such as demographic factors, the experience of Internet use, family-related traits, and social activities.
Online game business has emerged as the most lucrative entertainment industry, with over 10 million players in South Korea and over 30million in Japan in 2005. While the interactive entertainment market continues to expand, with many new online game publishers entering the market, relatively little theory has been developed about which factors influence online gamers' behavioral intentions (i.e., loyalty, satisfaction, words of mouth, etc.) in this area. The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationships among the gamers' satisfaction, trust toward game publishers, the role of online game community, social reputation, and the managerial support of game publishers. We also examine the differences between Korean and Japanese gamers concerning the relationships of these key success factors. The structural model is tested with the data from entire data samples (i.e., Korean and Japanese gamers pooled together) and each of the sub-samples (i.e., Korean and Japanese gamers taken separately). Properties of the causal paths, including standardized path coefficients, the significance of difference, and variance explained for Trust and Satisfaction in the hypothesized model, are presented. Following the model test, we conduct a test of the differences in path coefficients between Korean and Japanese gamers. Statistical results show that, compared to Japanese gamers, Korean gamers had a greater salient effect on Social Reputation in determining. Trust, in addition to placing a greater emphasis on Support of Game Publishers in determining Social Reputation. Other interesting results concerning game Publishers' strategy are also presented.

We explore the determinants of long-term relationship between the buyer and the supplier to help suppliers develope a strategy to build long-term relationship with their buyers. Based upon an extensive literature review, we propose three droops of independent variables which may affect long-term relationship, including (a) environmental factors (product complexity, product importance, source dependence, price sensitivity), (b) relational factors(trust, commitment, satisfaction, intention of expansion), (c) operational performance(quality, delivery, cost capability, technical knowhow). The buyer's actual period of relationship with its main supplier is used as a dependent variable. Using hierarchical multiple regression analysis, we empirically test hypotheses, analysing a sample of 290 manufacturing firms in the U.S. The statistical results indicate that the buyer's source dependence, price sensitivity and the supplier's commitment play a significant role in establishing long-term relationship between the buyer and the supplier. However, the supplier's cost capability and technical knowhow in operational performance negatively affect long-term relationship in contrast with our hypotheses. Due to this controversial result, we divide the sample group Into dual sourcing and multiple sourcing environments and reconduct regression analysis in a post hoc manner. The findings show that the supplier's cost capability and technical knowhow are negatively associated with the length of relationship only in the multiple sourcing environment. The results may confirm that both parties' opportunistic behavior is more salient in the multiple sourcing environment than in the single sourcing environment.
Consumers can share their diverse opinions about products due to the increased popularity of smartphones and the internet that enables increased access to the websites and encourages the use of 'SNS' (Social Network Services). Social commerce has expanded rapidly as a mainstream online shopping channel over the past year, compelling consumers to spend more money vis-$\grave{a}$-vis social commerce websites. This allows individuals to see different lists of prices for specific products; however, it is also likely to lead to serious compulsive buying. Despite these changing trends, earlier studies have been limited to factors that affect impulse purchases vis-$\grave{a}$-vis Internet shopping malls; therefore, in is salient to conduct research on consumer spending habits related to social commerce websites. This study describes the characteristics of consumers and utilizes social commerce websites as parameters for the impact of impulsive shopping based on a survey of 300 women in their 20's who have experienced impulse buying vis-$\grave{a}$-vis social commerce websites. This study shows that: First, discounts, product scarcity and social commerce site's reputation affect impulse buying when consumers buy products from the social commerce websites. Second, variables on the characteristics of the personal experiences, interests, and self-control also stimulate impulsive purchases.
The realities of Climate change and its untold implications on the livelihood of man are no longer new worldwide. In attempts to subdue the negative implications of Climate change scenario globally, several measures have being suggested and being put in place. One of such measures is urban reforestation especially in the developing nations where forest resources have extremely and uncontrollably exploited. Most of cities in developing nations are almost devoid of regularly maintained trees for whatever purpose. Thus, the enormous roles which urban tree performs are lacked in most cities. In order to subdue excessive heat in cities arising from exposure of urban land areas urban reforestation exercise needs to be embarked upon. The investigation was carried out through desk studies and review of relevant publications to examine what it entails to have a sustainable reforestation programme in cities. The study revealed that several factors need to be taken into consideration if sustainable urban reforestation will be achieved, especially in developing countries. These factors include urban soil nutrients status investigation, appropriate tree type study, public perception about the tree types, relevant legal instrument to achieve successful reforestation exercise in cities among others were found to be salient to this exercise. Urban reforestation has enormous potentials to subdue Climate change consequences, including urban renewal if adequate provision is made for its sustainability, especially in developing countries. To ensure this is realized it is recommended that relevant ministry/agency could be put in charge for the maintaining, cutting and replanting of urban tree and all that are involved in urban tree sustainability.

Disposition Effect (DE) is one of the many investment biases, wherein the investors sell the profitable stocks rather quickly and they tend to hold on the loss making stocks. Various factors related to the DE are the character of investors applying risk management which is also influenced by the social media, Salient Shock (COVID-19), and in the specific case of Indonesia, the phenomenon of rumor stocks wherein the price can rise as much as up to 8500%. The study aims to provide empirical evidence regarding the DE with specific explanatory factors, namely investor behavior and rumors. Data was obtained through a questionnaire sent to 248 Indonesian Stock Exchange Investors (IDX) during the period October-November 2021 by using Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method. The results show: Generation Z, women, and investors with a low education has a greater DE, risk-takers tend to have lower DE, and professionals have negative DE. Implementation of risk management will reduce DE. Social Media and the COVID-19 situation positively affect DE. Especially on stock rumors, there is evidence that investors who own rumor stocks will have a low DE. The results indicate the need for: (i) risk management, especially for Z Generation, women and low education Investors, (ii) to provide positive information so that information on social media can be responded to positively.
Igbo, a new Benue Congo language has a vowel harmony system which, like that of Akan, is based on the pharynx size or tongue root position. In this study we examine Igbo vowel harmony with particular reference to assimilatory patterns of vowels in different harmony sets. This is to gain some insight into the factors involved in Igbo vowel assimilation, and to establish to what extent reports on Akan vowel assimilation are validated in Igbo. Tokens of the eight phonemic vowels of Standard Igbo are recorded from three native speakers of Igbo. The vowels are acoustically investigated (using the LPC analysis of CSL) in individual lexical items and within carefully designed carrier phrases. The F1 and F2 values of the vowels are obtained as these formant values are generally useful in establishing the salient characteristics of vowels. Vowels from the harmony sets are juxtaposed in the carrier phrases to ascertain the extent of assimilation. Results of the investigation show that the F1 values, to a large extend, are enough to characterize these vowels. The (-Expanded) vowels have higher F1 values than their (+Expanded) counterpart. Where there is an overlap in F1 values for some vowels the F1 bandwidth values serve to distinguish between the vowels. The overlap often reported in Akan for /I/ and /e/ on the one hand and /${\mho}$/ and /o/ on the other is not validated in Igbo. While the F1 values for these pairs of vowels are quite similar for one of our speakers, there is an appreciable difference between the F1 values of these vowels for the other two speakers. There is however an overlap for /e/ and /o/ for one of the speakers. Assimilations are generally regressive across word boundaries. It is, however, necessary to point out that the general perceptual impression that one of the vowels completely assimilates to the other, is not borne out by our investigation. Most of our F1 and F2 values for the vowels in individual lexical items are altered in assimilations. This then suggests that assimilation involving these vowels is partial rather than complete. The emerging 'allophones' are acoustically similar to the (+Expanded) vowel involved in the assimilation, that is when vowels from different harmony sets are involved. We conclude that while assimilation of Igbo vowels involves some phonological considerations, phonetic factors appear to be permanent in deciding the final form of the vowels.
This paper is a review of findings from studies that have used vignettes to identify salient characteristics that have been found to influence individuals' perceptions of child sexual abuse. Vignette studies finding avoid to unreliable and biased self-reports. A review of the literature revealed that factors influencing the perception process are divided into two groups. One group of factors relates to the details of the abuse situation including characteristics of sexual act (intrusiveness of the sexual act and the frequency of acts), characteristics of victim (age of victim, the gender of victim and victim resistance), and characteristics of perpetrator (age of perpetrator, gender of perpetrator and the relationship of the perpetrator to the child). The other group of factors focused on in research reflects individuals background variables that affect personal interpretations of the abuse situation. These factors include professional affiliation of the respondent and various other. demographics (e.g., gender of respondents, age, education, marital status, parental status, number of children, the length of experience, etc.), along with respondents own child sexual victimization experiences. Based on theses findings vignette studies have allowed researchers to learn how individuals vary their perceptions of various situational aspects of child sexual abuse situations, and how background characteristics of the respondents as observers may influence these perceptions.
Objective : Traumatic brain injury (TBI) in children under age 24 months has characteristic features because the brain at this age is rapidly growing and sutures are opened. Moreover, children this age are completely dependent on their parents. We analyzed the demographic data and risk factors for outcomes in TBI patients in this age group to elucidate their clinical characteristics. Methods : We retrospectively reviewed the medical records and radiological films of children under 24 months who were admitted to Kyungpook National University Hospital from January 2004 to December 2013 for TBI. Specifically, we analyzed age, cause of injury, initial Glasgow coma scale (GCS) score, radiological diagnosis, seizure, hydrocephalus, subdural hygroma, and Glasgow outcome scale (GOS) score, and we divided outcomes into good (GOS 4-5) or poor (GOS 1-3). We identified the risk factors for post-traumatic seizure (PTS) and outcomes using univariate and multivariate analyses. Results : The total number of patients was 60, 39 males and 21 females. Most common age group was between 0 to 5 months, and the median age was 6 months. Falls were the most common cause of injury (n=29, 48.3%); among them, 15 were falls from household furniture such as beds and chairs. Ten patients (16.7%) developed PTS, nine in one week; thirty-seven patients (61.7%) had skull fractures. Forty-eight patients had initial GCS scores of 13-15, 8 had scores of 12-8, and 4 had scored 3-7. The diagnoses were as follows : 26 acute subdural hematomas, 8 acute epidural hematomas, 7 focal contusional hemorrhages, 13 subdural hygromas, and 4 traumatic intracerebral hematomas larger than 2 cm in diameter. Among them, two patients underwent craniotomy for hematoma removal. Four patients were victims of child abuse, and all of them had PTS. Fifty-five patients improved to good-to-moderate disability. Child abuse, acute subdural hematoma, and subdural hygroma were risk factors for PTS in univariate analyses. Multivariate analysis found that the salient risk factor for a poor outcome was initial GCS on admission. Conclusion : The most common cause of traumatic head injury in individuals aged less than 24 months was falls, especially from household furniture. Child abuse, moderate to severe TBI, acute subdural hematoma, and subdural hygroma were risk factors for PTS. Most of the patients recovered with good outcomes, and the risk factor for a poor outcome was initial mental status.
It is more salient in the high-tech industry to cooperate even among competitors in order to promptly respond to the changes in product architecture. In this sense, 'co-opetition,' which is the combination word between 'cooperation' and 'competition,' is the new business term in the strategic management and represents the two concepts "simultaneously co-exist." From this view, this study set up the research purposes as follows: 1) investigating the corporate managerial and technological behavioral characteristics in the co-opetition of the global display industry. 2) verifying the emerging factors during the co-opetition behavior hereafter. 3) suggesting the strategic direction focusing on the co-opetition behavioral characteristics. To this end, this study used co-word network analysis to understand the structure in context level of the co-opetition. In order to understand topics on each network, we clustered the keywords by community detection algorithm based on modularity and labeled the cluster name. The results show that there were increasing patterns of competition rather than cooperation. Especially, the litigations for mutual control against Korean firms much more severely occurred and increased as time passed by. Investigating these network structure in technological evolution perspective, there were already active cooperation and competition among firms in the early 2000s surrounding the issues of OLED-related technology developments. From the middle of the 2000s, firm behaviors have focused on the acceleration of the existing technologies and the development of futuristic display. In other words, there has been competition to take leadership of the innovation in the level of final products such as the TV and smartphone by applying the display panel products. This study will provide not only better understanding on the context of the display industry, but also the analytical framework for the direction of the predictable innovation through analyzing the managerial and technological factors. Also, the methods can support CTOs and practitioners in the technology planning who should consider those factors in the process of decision making related to the strategic technology management and product development.
