Derivation of a Verification Formula for the Dose Rate Contributing to the Maze Door of the 6 MV Treatment Room (6 MV 치료실의 미로 도어에 기여하는 선량률의 검증식 유도)

  • The purpose of this study is to derive an equation to verify the accuracy of the dose rate for each component calculated at the measurement point outside the maze door when designing the maze door of 6 MV X-ray beam. Based on the component-specific dose rate calculation formula for the measurement point outside the maze door described in NCRP Report 151 and IAEA Safety Report Series 47, the dose rate calculation formula for each component when applying the values of the drawing-based parameters and the dose rate calculation formula for each component when applying the values of conservative parameters are derived. From the two dose rate calculation formulas for each component, the dose rate verification formula for each component at the measurement point outside the maze door was derived. The resulting dose rate verification formula for each component at the measurement point outside the maze door can be compared and analyzed whether the dose rate for each component at the measurement point outside the maze door calculated by the designer falls within the range of the dose rate obtained from the derived dose rate verification formula for each component. This verification formula is considered to be practically useful in verifying the accuracy of the dose rate for each component calculated by the designer.

  • The LTE-R system is a system consisting of a packet network that provides all IP-based services. Continuous failures related to the platform safety gate and subsequent safety accidents related to passengers and safety gate workers continue. The secondary damage caused by the failure of the platform safety door and the related human life damage have emerged as a major social issue.. By linking the beacon system to the Long Term Evoluton-Railway (LTE-R) network, an LTE-based railway wireless network currently in operation or being installed, it precisely locates trains and provides standardized fault alerts to train crews. When entering into the station, ultimately we will decelerate the train and reduce the accidents of metropolitabn railroad traffic by securing safe driving.

Microbial Risk Assessment and HACCP Plan for the Safe Production of Dry Aged Meat (안전한 건식 숙성육 제조를 위한 미생물 위해평가 및 HACCP 적용 방안)

  • Dry-aging is one of the traditional aging processes, especially for beef. This aging process is being popular, because it produces unique brown/roasted flavor and texture that consumers prefer. However, as it is exposed to outside without packaging food safety concerns have been raised. The objective of this study was to investigate the presence of total aerobic bacteria (TAB) and pathogenic bacteria in manufacturing environment and suggest the safety management plan for the production of dry-aged meat. Surface samples from 66 environmental and 6 beef carcass samples were collected. According to the monitoring results, the contamination levels of TAB were in the order of shelves (5.4±1.1 Log CFU/cm2), cotton gloves (2.9±0.2 Log CFU/cm2), and door knobs (2.8±0.4 Log CFU/cm2) in the dry-aging room. In the door knobs, the level of mold was higher than that of yeast. These results indicate that the mold spores may be cross-contaminated with environmental factors inside the aging room. The risk factors that may occur during the manufacturing process were presented and possibility of risk was determined. From the aspect of microbiology, aging and trimming steps were determined as the critical control points. The temperature of the aging room should be maintained below 10℃ and the humidity below 75-85%. Based on the monitoring and the risk assessment of the dry-aging process, we prepared the safety management plan for the production of dry-aged meat, and it should be useful in improving the food safety of dry-aged meat.

Investigation of Internal Temperature Distribution in Domestic Refrigerators and Freezers (가정용 식품 냉장고와 냉동고의 내부 온도 분포 실태 조사)

  • This study surveyed and compared the temperature distribution in domestic refrigerators and freezers used in Korea to determine whether temperature varied according to the location of food storage. We selected 50 people to collect temperature data; among them, 25 measured the temperature of refrigerators, while the remaining measured the temperature of freezers. Consequently, the lowest and highest temperatures measured in domestic refrigerators were found to be -8.2℃ and 15.8℃, respectively, with an average temperature of 3.73℃. The temperature distribution based on internal location was: 5.06±1.69℃ for the door storage compartment, 4.18±1.19℃ for the inside wall surface, and 3.41±1.36℃ for the inner storage box. Significant temperature differences between the top and bottom were only identified at the door storage compartment (P<0.01). Further, the minimum and maximum temperatures measured in the freezer was -30.3℃ and 0.7℃, respectively, with an average temperature of -17.95℃. The temperature distribution based on location was: -17.19±1.68℃ for the door storage compartment, -17.81±1.07℃ for the inside wall surface, and -18.78±1.72℃ for the inside storage box. The results were similar to that of the refrigerator, with the lowest temperature in the inside storage box, and a significant temperature difference between the top and bottom noted only at the door (P<0.01). The maximum temperature difference (between locations) within the refrigerator and freezer was found to be 2.18 and 2.02℃, respectively. In conclusion, the temperature in the entire space was not constant; there were significant deviations at different storage locations. Therefore, public authorities should actively advise customers on the recommended storage locations for each food type. People will benefit from awareness about storage management, including avoiding storage of temperature-sensitive foods in door compartment.

FE Analysis on the Structural Behavior of the Single-Leaf Blast-Resistant Door According to Design Parameter Variation (설계변수에 따른 편개형 방폭문의 구조거동 유한요소해석)

  • Steel-concrete single-leaf blast-resistant doors are protective structures consisting of a steel box and reinforced concrete slab. By the domestic blast-resistant doors, the structure is not designed efficiently because few studies have examined the effects of variables, such as the blast pressure, rebar ratio, and steel plate thickness on the structural behavior. In this study, the structural behavior of the doors was analyzed using the FE method, and the support rotation and ductility ratio used to classify the structural performance were reviewed. The results showed that the deflection changes more significantly when the plate thickness increases than when the rebar spacing is a variable. This is because the strain energy absorbed by the door is reduced considerably when the plate thickness increases, and as a result, the maximum deflection becomes smaller. According to a comparison of the calculated values of the support rotation and the ductility ratio, the structural performance of the doors could be classified based on the support rotation of one degree and ductility ratio of three. On the other hand, more explosion tests and analytical studies will be needed to classify the damage level.

Verifying the Suitability or Unsuitability of the Opening Force Criteria Applied to Air Pressurized Access Door to a Smoke Control Zone (급기 가압 제연구역 출입문에 적용되는 개방력 기준의 적합성 여부에 관한 연구)

  • The aim of this study was to verify the suitability or unsuitability of Korean body types by measuring the opening force criteria of an air pressurized access door to a smoke control zone. The opening force criteria were verified by comparing the NFSC 501A, NFPA 92A and BS-EN 12101-6 based on the body standards information from the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards. When measuring the opening forces, the posture of the body should be standing upright and pushing an access door with the right hand, which is a criterion for designing doors. As a result of analyzing the actual measurement results, the pushing force of men and women in their 30's was the maximum value and the forces in those in their 60's was the minimum value. In addition, the deviations in the pushing forces varied considerably. As a result of comparing the NFSC 501A, the men showed lower values than the criteria in every gender and age variable except for the 20's, 30's and 50's variable. A comparison of the criteria of NFPA 92A showed that the mean of the measured values from every gender and age was also lower than the criteria. In addition, when comparing the criteria of BS-EN 12101-6, it was found that the men in every age variable were higher than the criteria. On the other hand, the women in every age variable were lower than the criteria. Therefore, considering the Korean body type against the Western body type, it was decided that the opening force of an access door to a smoke control area to make a downward adjustment should be 110 N in the local criteria. Furthermore, the criteria should consider the characteristics of buildings and users because an optional application of the international standard is not necessarily suitable for local situations.

  • There have been the current controversy over effectiveness of the pressurized smoke control systems, which are installed within escape shaft to provide 'smoke-free' access for escaping peoples. Therefore, many effective measures were given in this paper by means of the production of a design guide for various types of escape routes used in domestic buildings. The solutions were established on basis of both an investigating current door closing device application in existing facilities and global standardization for pressurized smoke control system, especially in British Standard.   • 본 연구에서는 제연구역과 옥내와의 차압 및 출입문의 폐쇄력 측정을 통해 제연구역 출입문의 작동패턴을 해석하였다. 이를 통해 제연구역 출입문의 폐쇄력 측정시 정확한 측정을 위해 출입문을 완전히 폐쇄한 상태에서 측정을 하여야 하며, 문의 크기에 비례하여 증가하는 폐쇄력을 고려한 제연설비 설계에 대한 근거를 제시하였다.

지하철 스크린도어 설치 시 화재 강도에 따른 승강장 열 환경 해석

  • 현재 많은 나라에서 지하철 역사에 승강장 스크린 도어(Platform Screen Door)를 설치하여 열차진입에 따른 승강장부의 공조환경 개선 및 승객의 안전을 확보하고자 하고 있다. 한국에서도 서울 지하철 9호선을 비롯하여 각 도시에서 PSD를 지하철 승강장부에 설치하는 노력이 시도되고 있으나, 이에 대한 검증은 전무한 실정이다 한국에서의 지하철 이용 분담율은 30%정도이며, 향후 약 50%까지 이를 것으로 예상되며, 이에 따라 PSD설비는 증가할 것으로 전망된다. 따라서 PSD 설치에 대한 지하철역사 환기 및 화재시의 배연설비에 대한 연구의 필요성은 날로 논아지고 있는 실정이다.(중략)
