  • The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) introduced a safety management system in the aviation sector for aviation safety and mandated the implementation of safety management systems and national safety programs. The activation of the airline's safety management system is not just a requirement for organizational members to create and comply with necessary regulations, but a safety culture to promote and improve flight safety must be established within the organization. Therefore, the safety culture of airlines acts as a major key variable in the safety management system that directly affects safety performance. This study compared the data from the European pilot safety culture awareness, which was the basic data of the survey, with statistics on the safety culture awareness of domestic flight attendants to analyze the differences in safety culture between the two groups.

  • An operational oceanographic system needs to be established for the preservation and management of marine environments and resources, and also to secure the safety and efficiency of marine operations in Korea. One of the major roles of operational oceanography is to deliver ocean science products which can meet the requirements of users such as marine industries, the general public, government agencies, and scientific research communities. Technical issues in relation to development of an effective operational oceanographic system in Korea are identified and discussed. Among others, cooperation among the agencies in ocean, meteorology, hydrology and environment, and also among those of neighboring countries is important for the development of an effective operational oceanographic system. The strategy for building a system that meets the demands of users, with consideration to potential problems, are explored.

  • This study developed the emission intensity estimation method of GHGs by considering the characteristics of the models and time series. The telematics device was installed on the vehicle (OBD-II) to collect information on the operation conditions from each sample vehicle of public authorities. As a result of comparing the mileage distance and fuel consumption, the matching degree is analyzed very high, showed a ${\pm}1{\sim}4%$ error for each vehicle. By comparing driving record diary of vehicles managed by public authorities, this study presents the method that can be used to verify driving information in order to derive the GHGs emission intensity.

  • Due to the nature of construction industry which is labor-intensive and outdoor mobile production industry, climatic changes work as a major factor affecting construction period and safety accident. In Korea, changes in the amount of precipitation are more severe than those in climate. In addition, climatic changes are also shown as a change in precipitation form. Thus, this study aims to provide baseline data for establishing safety regulations at construction sites by analyzing fatal accidents by precipitation type.

  • Abnormal climate events are occurring frequently around the world. In particular, cold waves and heavy snow lead to damage and deterioration of facilities, which can cause loss of life or property damage, such as shortening the lifespan of facilities. Therefore, it is very important to prepare an appropriate maintenance system and to establish a strategy to cope with abnormal weather conditions. In this study, laboratory freezing experiments were performed to analyze the freeze-thaw characteristics affecting the tunnel concrete lining, and heat flow analysis was carried out based on the test results. Based on these experimental and theoretical analysis results, quantitative freeze-thaw evaluation criteria for tunnel concrete linings were proposed.

  • The FoodTech industry has been developed with the rise of start-up by using AI, big data, robotics, biotechnology. In addition, sustainable development is more important with the trend of population growth, aging, and climate change. We investigated the impact of FoodTech on the foodservice industry with the cases of the global and domestic companies. The technology of AI, IoT, blockchain, robotics, automation systems are widely used to improve food safety and hygiene while as the use of diagnostic biomarkers such as blood or DNA, digital platform and app, and AI-based solutions are used in the field of personalized nutrition. With the expand of FoodTech in foodservice industry, the competencies that the managers need to develop include understanding technology, resource management, self-development, work ethics, problem-solving, and communication, therefore the support of the related education and training is required.

  • City parks play an important role in reducing the air pollution and mitigating the city heat island effect caused by global warming. However, from July 2020, restricted parks over 20-year will be partially lifted due to sunset regulation on parks. As a result, the government and local governments have been making efforts to revitalize parks, such as creating ecological parks and securing park sites. However, building winds generated by high-rise buildings constructed around ecological parks in the city may cause discomfort to pedestrians and threaten the ecosystems of plants and animal that live in ecological parks. There are no clearly proposed as standards for wind environment assessment in Korea, but also it has been rarely studied on pedestrian wind environment. In this study, wind environment studies have been reviewed to find the important parameters related to wind environment assessment. Further, wind climate analysis using wind data obtained by Seoul meterological station was performed to examine the possibility of applicability of the wind environment assessment on the city ecological parks.

  • Energy use has been recognized worldwide as a main cause of global warming and it is at the center of climate change. In this study, problems and measures of zero-energy building construction are investigated and analyzed. Based on the results, evaluation criteria of the zero-energy building are suggested. Performance related factors(Q) representing the environmental grade were divided into three categories as outdoor, indoor environment and maintenance. Energy related factors(LR) representing the energy load were divided into an energy, materials & resources, water cycle management, land use and transportation. Detailed fifty three items are listed for the evaluation under the consideration of energy, water cycle management sections gave weight. Upon receiving the first in the environment friendly certification system, Seoul Central Post Office and Seoul Metropolitan Water Supply Center evaluated. The reason why this score difference is due to lack of use of new generation energy building construction is required expensive costs so need expansion of governmental support. This effort is successful zero energy building construction and copes with global warming and climate change.
