  • Recently, many research efforts have paid attention to spectrum pooling meshanism that provides efficient way to manage transient spectrum requests of secondary users in cognitive radio networks. Spectrum pooling is maintained by WSP (wireless service provider). WSP leases the spectrums stored in her spectrum pool to secondary users with being paid for it. It is natural that WSP tries to get profits as much as possible, which implies the WSP tries to minimize the cost required for maintaining her spectrum pool. In this paper, we model the spectrum pool into a probabilistic inventory model. Assuming secondary users' spectrum requests follow normal distribution, we give a strategic way that minimizes the maintenance cost of the spectrum pool. By a series of simulations, we show that WSP can reduce the total maintenance cost through our inventory model-based spectrum pooling than maintaining fixed inventory level.

  • In the early stage, the radio communication industry was widely accepted as a monopoly industry, so it has been controled and managed by government. But the advanced technology in Information and Technology industry has led constant increase of demand and dramatic change of communication market. Furthermore it is expected that frequency resource is to be short by market change due to wire-wireless integration. That is why the effort to utilize and manage limited frequency resource efficiently is being executed around the world. Not only newly developing and allocating the spectrum but also reallocating the existing spectrum important are, since transforming inefficiently used existing spectrum to new service can increase producer's surplus and social welfare. The economic approach to valuate the spectrum and spectrum usage right is necessary different from the traditional cost based approach, and through this approach I expect active transaction of spectrum. In this paper the real option methodology is used for valuation of spectrum, considering spectrum user's option right based on future revenue. In detail, the matter of withdrawing and reallocating the existing analog radio broadcasting spectrum is evaluated in this paper, The digitalization of a broadcasting service is widely spreaded around the world in terms of technology and service utility, and analog TV broadcasting has already been decided to be transformed to digital TV broadcasting. It was planned to convert analog radio broadcasting to DAB service before adopting DMB service, but nowadays this issue is not on the table anymore. However if the increasing demand of digital voice and broadcasting service is considered, this kind of research to valuate a spectrum is needed urgently. The result of this research shows that when the redeployment of spectrum is done, social welfare will increases. The point of the reallocation time and value are suggested by the monte carlo simulation through ROVM. In this paper, I use real option to valuate the spectrum and provide the point of the reallocation time and reasonable guideline, and moreover, the suitable information of this paper is expected to reduce risk and loss in policy practice.

  • The dynamic geometric environment plays a positive role in solving students' geometric problems. Students can infer invariance in change through dragging, and help solve geometric problems through the analysis method. In this study, the continuous spectrum of the dynamic geometric environment can be used to solve problems of students. The continuous spectrum can be used in the 'Understand the problem' of Polya(1957)'s problem solving stage. Visually representation using continuous spectrum allows students to immediately understand the problem. The continuous spectrum can be used in the 'Devise a plan' stage. Students can define a function and explore changes visually in function values in a continuous range through continuous spectrum. Students can guess the solution of the optimization problem based on the results of their visual exploration, guess common properties through exploration activities on solutions optimized in dynamic geometries, and establish problem solving strategies based on this hypothesis. The continuous spectrum can be used in the 'Review/Extend' stage. Students can check whether their solution is equal to the solution in question through a continuous spectrum. Through this, students can look back on their thinking process. In addition, the continuous spectrum can help students guess and justify the generalized nature of a given problem. Continuous spectrum are likely to help students problem solving, so it is necessary to apply and analysis of educational effects using continuous spectrum in students' geometric learning.

  • The selection of an evaluation response spectrum can have a significant effect on the seismic fragility evaluation of a structure. A method for modifying the seismic fragility parameters that are calculated based on the design spectrum is described in this study. The modification factor is used to modify the original fragility parameters. The HCLPF (High Confidence of Low Probability of Failure) acceleration levels of the electric system using previous design spectrum and uniform hazard spectrum (UHS) were compared. Finally, seismic risk analyses were performed according to a uniform hazard spectrum. From the results, it was concluded that based on the design spectrum, seismic risk for the electric system might be underestimated.

  • Cognitive radio is accepted as an effective and promising approach for resolving the spectrum scarcity problem by allowing secondary users to borrow unused spectrum from primary users. A method of identifying busy and empty spectrum at the given time and space, which is called spectrum sensing, constitutes an essential element of the cognitive radio. In this paper, we propose a receiver-centric spectrum sensing scheme which attempts to detect the primary receiver rather than the primary transmitter. It is shown that the proposed receiver-centric sensing approach results in more efficient spectrum utilization than the conventional transmitter-centric sensing.

  • In this paper, we propose a dynamic spectrum hole grouping method that changes the grouping range of spectrum hole according to the resources amount required by secondary users in wideband spectrum cognitive wireless networks, and then the proposed method is applied to channel allocation for the secondary user service. The proposed method can improve waste of resources in the existing static spectrum hole grouping in virtue of grouping dynamically as much the predicted spectrum holes resources as secondary users require. Simulation results show that channel allocation method with the proposed dynamic grouping outperforms that with the static grouping method in resources utilization under acceptable secondary user service performance.

  • Frequency resource value is growing bigger more with the development of the wireless communication. But Frequency shortage phenomenon is risen seriously because the need of Frequency resource is very many compared with the supply in an information society of the future. So we need Cognitive technique Radio which is taking the attention recently to use Frequency resource not to be not using efficiently. We propose efficient Dynamic Spectrum Allocation method in IEEE a 802.22 WRAN environment of CR foundation in this paper. To share spectrum more efficiently, we presented some Dynamic Spectrum Allocation technique to apply the Variable bandwidth, Mobility and verified this through the result of the simulations.

  • Spectrum sensing is an integral part of cognitive radio, which seeks to address the perceived spectrum scarcity that is caused by inefficient utilization of the available spectrum. In this paper, a spectrum sensing system using energy detection for analog TV and FM broadcast transmitters as well as modified Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting Terrestrial (ISDB-T) signals is implemented on a software-defined radio platform using GNU' Not Unix (GNU) radio and the N200 Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP). Real-time implementation and experimental tests were conducted in Metro Cebu, a highly urbanized area in the southern part of the Philippines. Extensive tests and measurements were necessary to determine spectrum availability, particularly in the TV band. This is in support of the Philippine government' efforts to provide internet connectivity to rural areas. Experimental results have so far met IEEE 802.22 requirements for energy detection spectrum sensing. The designed system detected signals at -114 dBm within a sensing time of 100 ms. Furthermore, the required $P_d({\geq}90)$ and $P_{fa}({\leq}10)$ of the standard were also achieved with different thresholds for various signal sources representing primary users.
